Chapter 3: (Two weeks after last Chapter.)
"Hey, Yami"
Yami glanced over to the door from what he was doing "Yes Heba. What is going on?" He asked, continuing to fold his clothes that he would be bring on the trip the next day, before helping the twins pack, making sure that they had everything they wanted to bring.
Shrugging "Nothing much. Those five are in their meeting, and the girls are studying, so I have nothing to do at the moment." Heba said, sitting on the bed, sighing in exhaustion.
Raising a brow "You okay?" Yami slowed his pace, yet not stopping for a second.
"Yeah, just tired is all."
Yami stopped his folding, chuckling "I feel ya. We made 'great' timing on when to do this." He said, rubbing his hand over his stomach.
Nodding "There is another reason why I came over though."
"What's that about?" Yami wondered.
"Well, I was just going to ask if you would be waiting till you guys got back from the trip, to clarify if you are actually pregnant." Heba said.
Yami chuckled, continuing to fold his clothes "Actually, I was just going to take one of those store bought tests when that time came. If I did wait, and we do end up staying longer than we planned, their heartbeat would appear before we got back, and then I would already know that I was, but I think I most definitely am."
"What makes you think that?"
Sheepishly laughing "Yesterday I did not want to get out of bed, then there was this morning when I threw up." Yami answered.
Surprised "Already though, I'm not surprised why I haven't gotten sick yet." Heba said in confusion.
"Well when you do, you do. In my opinion, I don't want to be sick right now, especially since the trip is tomorrow. The kids want to do a lot of hiking and sightseeing." Exhaling "But anyways, you go ahead and get checked out by Isis in two weeks. I will get a better check up when we get back."
Heba nodded in understanding. The brothers then changed the subject, talking of some other stuff for a little while longer till Heba had to go check on the girls.
The meeting was coming to an end after a good three hours of sitting, discussing the towns daily problems, much to all the lords annoyance.
As for two of the lords, Joey and Ryo had both gotten their half a year sickness this morning, and barely hanging in there.
Yugi had told them to go back home, but they insisted on staying. They both had fallen asleep on their thrones halfway through the meeting.
"Will there be anything more this very moment." Yugi stated, wanting to go home to check on his mate, keeping his worry in check since the council members did not know what he and Atemu, as well as Yami and Heba had done two weeks ago.
Brandon and Kate turned to Curt, just as the lords had woken up.
Isis shook her head, facepalming herself. The three knew what Curt was going to ask of their Emperor, and knew Curt was in for another lecture.
"Curt, what may it be now." Yugi stated in displeasure.
Fidgeting, shifting to his other leg "Well sire, In roughly two in a half year, Prince Zoltan and Princess Avita will enter the school."
Raising a brow "What of my children, interests you?" Yugi questioned.
Curt gulped loudly, sweat rolling down the back of his neck "I was just going to ask, if having the Prince and Princess attend the school was necessary. I mean, isn't their home schooling enough." He proclaimed, forgetting his place.
Joey and Ryo fully sat up for this, knowing that a yelling match was going to happen, not caring how sick they felt.
Yugi silently groaned 'Really! What is wrong with putting them through the school in the next few years.' He thought, exhaling an exhausting sigh.
Annoyed "Everyone, but Curt, can leave. This meeting is over." Yugi said, shaking his head.
All lords groaned, wanting to watch his brother, or friends yelling.
Once the two were alone Yugi questioned Curt once more.
"So, why is it that my children's learning needs are more on your mind than your own. Last time I checked, a school is a school, nothing more."
Calming himself "Well, to be completely honest, the school will only be a problem once they enter. The other students will instantly pick them out, use them and ruin their reputations. If possible, that sort of outcome should be prevented before it is too late." Curt declared, a tone Yugi recognized all too well since the very first time he had met Curt.
Yugi just sat there, staring at Curt, a blank expression on his face.
Almost a minute passed before Yugi said something "When that time comes, I will deal with it them." Standing up slowly, eyes closed.
"But sire, you don't understand!"
Eyes flashing open, glaring death down at Curt "No! You don't understand this situation, Curt!"
Flinching, Curt stepped backwards, staring down towards the floor, knowing his place now.
"When I came here I was no royal. I was not raised the way the past Emperors were raised. I was raised the way of the people in town, to fear the higher ups and what they can do to the community by one phone call." Moving closer to Curt, Curt inching backwards, fearful of his position "Think back to when I first got here. If my friends, my brother and my mate did not come with me, I would not be speaking to you so calmly on this matter, now would I. By demanding me to not put MY children through that school, to be locked up behind this DAMN wall to be protected for their entire lives, you are preventing them from making friends who may understand them other than myself and my mate. If they do not make friends, and when MY son does take over, he will not tolerate this kind of behavior. He will not take orders from nobody, not even you. Trust me, I have seen how angry he can get, and surprisingly, he has mine and my mates temper. You do not want to be on the other side of that." Yugi stated the truth.
Curt paled, knowing what his Emperor and his mate were capable of when pushed the wrong way 'The Prince is capable of much more.' He thought, shivering at such a thought, noticing how close his Emperor was to him.
"Now you see the importance of having friends around. If you do not want to be in his sights in the future, then my children will go through the school, understand."
Curt vigorously nodded his head "I understand, sire."
Backing away as they had backed up to the doors "Good, I do not want to remind you of this again. What is the difference if my children and your son goes to the same school." Opening the door to leave "I made that school so kids can test their knowledge and skills against one another, to see where their futures will end up." Leaving the throne room, door slamming behind him "It is common fucking sense, Curt! Get your mind out of the past and move on." Yugi snapped walking down the hall, shouting so Curt could hear him.
Continuing down the hall, Yugi quickly found his friends, hearing boos coming from them all, even Joey and Ryo.
"What is wrong with all of you?" Yugi asked, acting oblivious to what they all wanted from him.
"Come on, no extreme yelling today?" Malik said pouting, arms crossed.
"Yeah man. Normally you will be blowing the roof off when Curt is like that." Joey said.
Yugi shrugged "Just not in the mood to be blowing my voice horse. I've got other things on my mind right now."
"Is it about tomorrow then?" Ryo questioned.
Shaking his head "No, hardly that. Atemu has my part filled for here. I'm looking forwards to tomorrow."
"Then what else is on your mind that is yet again troubling you." Atemu asked "The last time you were like this was- Oh, I know." Atemu then became quiet, lost in thought.
"What, what don't we get." Malik, Joey and Ryo cried, not understanding what they were talking about.
Yugi chuckled, explaining themselves "A little over two weeks ago was Heba and Yami's fertilization period."
"Oh yeah, you four are planning to have another one. So, any signs of either of those two being-" Malik stopped talking, seeing Curt beginning to leave the throne room, walking down the hallway.
Yugi noticed as well, motioning with his head to the four in front of him to walk towards the lounge. Once outside, Malik continued were he left off "Pregnant?"
"Nothing out of the ordinary. Just tired for the most part." Atemu said.
"I've seen that as well. Yesterday Yami did not want to get out of bed. This morning he threw up. Surprised me because I thought Heba was going to have that symptom before Yami, given the fact that Heba is a day farther along." Yugi stated.
The four agreed with Yugi.
Ryo then thought of something "Wasn't the last time Yami and Heba were pregnant, Yami was this early being sick like this time." He stated "Also, given the fact that Yami isn't as immune to getting sick like the rest of us."
Malik cracked a smirk "That's true, though not all of us at the moment."
Ryo and Joey glared at Malik as Atemu and Yugi laughed.
Joey growled "Just be lucky that I am not chasing after you right now."
Chuckling "Sure, whatever you say man. Whatever you say."
The group continued to the lounge. Joey and Ryo instantly found their youngest child playing with Malik's daughter. The three didn't even notice their fathers standing in the doorway.
"Good grief. What took so long with that meeting?" Marik snapped in wonder.
Yugi rolled his eyes "You guys can tell them, I am not going to get myself involved with that idiot again today. See you later." He said going home, which wasn't that far away.
Atemu followed his brothers actions, also going home to check on Heba and the girls.
Yami walked out from the bathroom later that same day, now night it was.
He had been throwing up on and off all morning, through the afternoon and this very hour.
Growling, annoyed by the constant throwing his guts out "God, when will it end!"
Yugi already lay in bed, PJ's on and under the covers, writing down places they could see on their trip "You knew it would happen."
Tiredly sighing "I know. Last time it was only just the mornings though, not till I went to bed." Laying down, placing his forehead against Yugi's back.
Smirking Yugi wrote a couple more things down before pushing the pad of paper away. Rolling himself onto his back, Yami now resting his head on Yugi's chest, snuggling each other.
"Lets get some sleep. The kids will definitely wake us way earlier than when we are suppose to leave."
Yami smiled tiredly "Sounds like a plan, though those two always do that every morning. He said, shifting himself under the covers, magic turning the lights off.
"True, no argument there."
The two then settled down for sleep, waiting for the next morning to come quick, wishing to get away from the palace life for an entire two and a half weeks on Immorus, or maybe longer depending on what they decide when that time comes.
Two weeks had already passed on Earth as the family enjoyed their vacation away from home, loving the peace and quiet that Hawaii gave them near the ocean's coast.
The day they arrived on Earth, they stayed at the shop for an hour till Mokuba had picked them up, flying them over to one of his private getaway homes near the coast of Hawaii.
Like always, the days went by fast. Yami, when they arrived during the first week of their getaway, was bedridden. The constant throwing up made him unable to go exploring during the times that the twins wanted to go, so the solution for the time being was for Yugi, Zoltan and Avita to go without him till Yami felt better than he was feeling. The normal solution when sick during pregnancy was to drink blood from their mate, the father of their child. Not even that would calm Yami's constant retching.
The next week after that Yami was able to go with the three of them, even swimming in the ocean with his kids.
The third week, Monday morning Yugi woke around 7Am like normal when he was on Earth.
Sitting up he stretched, spin popping as he did so. Yami stirred slightly, yet went still soon after.
Yugi smiled, knowing that Yami would wake himself up when he felt good and ready to, though the kids when on Earth, did no such thing. Slipping out of bed, slippers secured to his feet he headed to each of their rooms, making sure they were awake and moving before heading down to the kitchen to make them breakfast.
Once the pan was heated, the kids wondered downstairs, laying down on the couch while watching TV.
Ten minutes later, upstairs, Yami rolled over, hand searching for his husband. Cracking an eye open he groaned, needing to use the bathroom.
Rolling over once more Yami got up, making his way into the bathroom, stopping himself when he remembered that today he would have to take that pregnancy test that he had bought the week before.
Finding the test under the sink, taking two of them just to make sure, even though Yami was sure he was. Taking the test was just a reassurance of his doubts, and to let Heba know till he himself had gone to see Isis for an actual check-up once they got back.
Waiting a few minutes the tests finished processing.
Exhaling a soft breath, Yami stood up. He wasn't nervous, yet he did feel something when he first sat down to wait. The last time Senna forced him to take a pregnancy test. Back then he didn't want to believe what he had been seeing. This time Yami was doing it himself. What if the test told him that he wasn't pregnant, then where was the retching coming from.
Inhaling Yami looked down, gathering the strength to prepare himself. Both tests said pregnant.
Relieved he touched his stomach, other hands leaning on top the sink, pushing himself away from it till his face, faced the floor.
Breathing in and out, trying to get his emotions in check. A few tears fell, yet Yami quickly whipped them away.
Standing up "Okay, calm down" Walking back into the bedroom "You knew that this was coming." Exhaling, lightly smacking his face with both hands "Get ahold of yourself. You've been through this before, you know what to do." Placing both hands to his stomach this time "Though it has been almost thirteen years since your older brother and sister were in the same place as you, little one."
Smiling Yami made up his decision, remembering that he promised his kids that he would tell them when he was sure he was pregnant. Turning around Yami gathered both tests, walking downstairs where his family was.
"Papa's awake!" Avita cheered, almost standing up in her seat, fork pointing towards the ceiling.
"I see you took your time getting down here." Yugi teased not turning around, as he was busy making his and Yami's breakfast.
Smirking walking up behind Yugi, hugging his back "I had to see today." Yami said.
Yugi was confused, but then felt something besides Yami's arms against his stomach. Looking down he found the two pregnancy tests, the results against his cloths.
Taking the tests, Yami tightened his hold around his mate. Yugi saw the results, smiling madly "I told you not to worry so much."
"I know, but it helps knowing that I am instead of being sick and not have a reason to be."
Placing both the spatula and the tests down on the counter, Yugi turned around, kissing his mates lips for a few tender moments, kissing his way down to his neck.
The kids rose their brows "What is going on?"
"That-" Yami tried explaining, yet Yugi would not stop his kisses, nuzzling his neck and cheek "That tickles!" chuckling lightly "Stop that." Turing away to walk over to the table, but again Yugi attached himself to Yami.
Yami sighed "You are hopeless." Shaking his head.
"I don't care." Yugi replied, nuzzling the other side of Yami's neck.
"Daddy. Papa. What's wrong?"
Yami looked to his children, seeing worried expressions. Smiling "What I was trying to say, is that you two will be having a new sibling in the next eight months."
A moment of processing this information, before Yami could see excitement light up in their eyes, both jumping out of their seats, screaming and shouting in pure bliss, joining their parents in their embrace.
The family stayed like this for a few more minutes.
Yami sniffed the air "Is...something burning."
Yugi stiffened, glancing to the frying pan. Small flames engulfed the food that had been cooking "Crap!" Running over to the stove to deal with the mess.
Yami, Avita and Zoltan laughed. The twins have never seen their dad burn anything when cooking their whole lives.
Avita climbed up onto the island, sitting down as Yami walked in front of her, stopping. Zoltan still hugging his papa's stomach.
"Do you know what gender they will be?" Avita asked.
Shaking his head "No, not yet. I won't find that out till my four in a half to five months."
"Awe" The two whined at the same time.
Yugi smirked chuckling, getting the fire under control "If you can't wait then just watch Papa's mood swings."
"Why's that?" Zoltan questioned.
"Well for starters, if Papa is calm, nice, not yelling, crying all the time, and complaining about his weight, then he will have a girl." A piece of toast was chucked at his head "If Papa throws things, yells, and wants to kill Lord Bakura and Marik all the time, then he will have a boy."
Yami agreed with that "Yes, so if I ask you two to do something, especially in the later months, then you will do it without complaint."
"Okay Papa"
"Alright, now go finish eating so that we can go out and do thing's" Yami said as the two nodded, sitting back at the table. Yugi finished making his and Yami's breakfast, also sitting down to eat.
After a few more weeks, the family returned home. The family exhausted and sunburnt.
Heba was the first to see them all return, since he was leaving the lounge anyways "Welcome back" walking closer, leaning down "You two seem to have gotten burnt. What happened there?"
"Swimming!" They cheered, jumping up and down, pulling at each of their parents arms.
Yami laughed "Yes, that was the only thing that they wanted to do once I told them I was pregnant." He said, whispering the pregnant part, eyeing Heba in silence.
Heba smirked "So, you are too." Straightening up.
"Well obviously, you two planned to at the same time." Yugi stated, arm hanging around Heba's shoulder.
Yami and Heba smirked, chuckling.
"Well anyways, those guys are in the meeting." Heba added.
Yugi released Heba "Nope, not going to cheek on them. They can handle one more day without me." Grabbing his and Yami's bags, he walked off to his room to lay down.
Yami leaned down "Why don't you two go unpack. I'll be in shortly."
Zoltan and Avita understood, running off to their rooms.
"So was it the fifteenth or sixteenth?" Yami asked, already knowing Heba was pregnant.
Smiling "Sixteenth, like I had a feeling it was."
Nodding "Well, I'll wait till tomorrow to see Isis. Does the rest of the council know yet?" Yami asked.
"No, not yet. I asked Isis to not say anything. I also warned her that you may come to her when you got back."
Smirking "That's good, but in truth, I would like to keep he, she or maybe more, quiet as long as I am not showing. I don't want this pregnancy to be like my first one once Curt hears about it." Walking for the lounge, Heba following, Yami still talking "Oh, tell us the gender, but mostly so I can feel the satisfaction of what they'll be so I can run my mouth all day long on how I would raise someone else's kids." Yami said, trying to mimic Curt's voice, not getting as close as he would have liked.
Heba laughed hysterically, holding his ribs "So true. If nether one of us has twins again, we can definitely hide this one better than our first one, roughly till our fifth or six months before someone figures it out that one, or both of us are pregnant."
Opening the lounge doors again, walking in "That would be nice. I don't need Curt breathing down my neck, much less the townspeople or Mother at that."
The next morning Yami found Isis, getting his check-up, finding out that he get pregnant of the seventeenth, probably during the morning that Yami cornered Yugi in the kitchen, leaving him on the floor passed out.
Yami explained to Isis that he and Heba did not want the rest of the council to know for a very long time, or as long as they could get away with not saying anything. Isis agreed, remembering what happened the first time. Not even three months later, the war had started.
After that Heba and Yami told the rest of the lords the news, as well as their parents.
Both sets of twins knew not to say anything in front of the council or in town. Only to the lords and grandparents, the four being very excited of the fact that they will have a new sibling in the next eight months, and a new cousin.
