"The stars are bright! Oh my gosh! I can even see Mars and Venus!" as Kagome's excitement grew.
Looking at her in complete amusement "This one did not know you have knowledge of astronomy?"
"Actually, yes I love the night sky and have studied a little about it. I know about some constellations as well." taking a seat on a bench.
"Tell this one what else do you see?" looking up at the sky.
Looking at the sky, eyes wide in amusement and curiosity "look, it's Canis Major!" She exclaimed as she pointed above. Then looked over at the demon lord "have you heard of it?"
"Hnn...this one have but tell me what knowledge you have of it." Still looking at the sky.
Kagome smiled with pleasure "let's see...In mythology, Canis Major is associated with Laelaps, the fastest dog in the world, one destined to catch anything it pursues."
"The greater dog." He smirked.
Kagome giggled. "Family of yours?!"
"Possibly."
They both sat quietly looking at the stars. Because it was dark, the miko didn't notice the demon lord looking at her and smiling inwardly at her amusement, beauty and education even during her moments of cluelessness.
"Thank you for coming outside with me. I can't believe I almost missed this beautiful view."
"Unfortunately for my drunk brother, this one has the pleasure of your company miko." as he moved closer to her. "Do you like to dance?"
"Yes I do but there is no music. It would have been wonderful to dance under these glittery stars." scenting her sadness.
Giving his hand in offering for a dance looking at her bright blue eyes in amusement.
"Sesshomaru, there isn't any music." Kagome looked at the handsome lord in front of her with his elegant hand extended to her.
"Follow my lead." Taking her hand and pulling her in close to him, Kagome cheeks heated up as her footsteps fell in sync with his.
'This feels so familiar. I can't place where. How does he know I love to dance?'
Kagome was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't realize they were floating in the air and while still dancing.
"Miko, are you not enjoying this dance?"
Kagome snapped back to the moment "uhh yes I am...woah! How did we get up here!" as she clinged on to Sesshomaru's chest.
"This one has abilities and powers that can add excitement to the moment. Look around, the stars are closer including Canis Major, the fastest dog in the world, one destined to catch anything it pursues."
"This is absolutely beautiful! I feel closer to these stars. "as she smiled "thank you so much! I shall cherish this moment...with you." as she still clinged on.
Feeling her genuine happiness, Sesshomaru enjoyed the closeness of the moment.
They floated thru the night sky until they finally landed. "Miko you had a long day, you should rest." letting her go.
"Yes you're right. I am tired but I'd give up my sleep anytime for moments like this. Good night Sesshomaru." as she gave a bow and made her way inside.
Meanwhile back at the western palace…
"My dear son you are quite smitten with this human girl. This will be quite interesting." Lady Mizuki looked into her hand mirror with great interest and a mischievous smile.
Rin walks in the lady's bedchamber with her soft white blanket and yawns "my lady can I sleep with you? Jaken's loud snoring from down the hall woke me up."
Looking sympathetically at the little human girl knowing how annoying that little Imp can be...awake or asleep "of course Rin, you can sleep in my bed." patting the empty spot next to her.
With a bright but sleepy smile, Rin crawled into bed next to the demoness and cuddled up with her soft blanket. "Good night my lady." as she fell asleep.
"Sleep well my child." as she watched her drifted off into a peaceful slumber.
'My son, you are just like your father, having a fondness for humans and now it has rubbed off on me.' she smiled.
