Chapter 3

Explaining everything again to his mother, Mr. Aizawa, and All Might wasn't as difficult as Izuku had expected. They had wanted to come along as well, but All Might and Aizawa had duties there and Izuku didn't want to worry his mother with whatever was happening to him. He managed to convince them to stay. As promised, Shoto was able to get the three of them tickets using his father's credit card. Izuku decided not to ask how he got his hands on that.

Currently, the greenette was sitting anxiously by a window, staring outside as clouds pass him by. Kacchan and Todoroki were sitting to his left. Shoto was looking over the third journal. "So, this...Gravity Falls...Are you sure these people are even still there? According to one of Dipper's entries he and his sister were about to leave for the school year and Standford and Stanley were about to leave as well." he asks, worried this might be a wild goose chase. "I...Don't know.." Izuku admits, sighing. "But it's the only lead we have." He adds, rubbing his eyes tiredly.

Katsuki looks over at his childhood friend, sighing in frustration. "You should have said something sooner, Deku," he grumbles. Izuku bows his head. "I know...I'm sorry. I just..." Shoto places a hand on his friend's arm. "It's alright, Midoriya. At least we were able to figure it out before you did something foolish." He smiles. Izuku smiles as well, nodding as he looks out the window again.

The plane coasts into the airport in America several hours later and the three boys get off. "Okay, it looks like there is a bus from here to Gravity Falls in about an hour. That'll give us some time to get something to eat before we leave." Izuku hums, looking at a map. "Good, I'm fucking starving," Bakugo says, storming off to buy some food. Izuku follows, looking around.

The three boys wait in line at one of the restaurants at the airport when two teens about their age get in line behind them talking. They were a boy and girl with brown hair and eyes. The boy was wearing a baseball cap that pushed his bangs down to cover his forehead and the girl was wearing a handmade sweater with a cat on it. Izuku tries not to pay them any mind as it is rude to eavesdrop. He orders his food and the three go and sit down.

"What's the plan here? Go knocking on their door like 'Hey! This nerd's been having weird dreams. You know anything about it?' cause if so that's moronic even for you, Deku." Izuku blushes as that was exactly what he'd had in mind. "Do you have any suggestions, Bakugo?" Shoto asks while eating. Katsuki falls silent, grumbling under his breath. "I suppose not." Shoto chuckles earning him a cold glare from Bakugo. "Shut the hell up, Icyhot." he huffs.

After they finish their food the three head to wait on the bus to Gravity Falls. Izuku is surprised when he sees the two teens from before walking over to join them, catching their conversation this time. "What do you think the emergency is?" the girl asks. "Beats me, but Gruncle Ford wouldn't have told us to come to town asap if it wasn't important. I hope everything's okay." The boy hums, writing in a journal with a Pinetree on the cover with the number one in the middle. The girl notices the three waiting for the bus and squeals "Holy hotties!" She says in a loud whisper causing the boy to look up from his journal. "Mabel, no." he groans. "Mable, yes!" she retaliates, walking over to them.

Bakugo notices that Izuku is distracted and follows his gaze. "What the hell do those Extras want?" he asks. "Not sure. Be nice, Kacchan." Izuku says before switching to English. "Hello. Are you guys going to Gravity Falls as well?" he asks. "Sure are! I'm Mabel! This is my brother Dipper!" the girl introduces causing the three to tense up. "Mable and Dipper...Pines?" Shoto asks. Mabel gasps. "DIPPER, THESE HOTTIES KNOW US!" She squeals excitedly. "Um...Yeah, how did you know that?" Dipper asks, pushing his sister off him as she had latched onto his arm and was shaking him in her excitement. The three boys share a look, unsure how to handle this.

After some thought, Izuku pulls out the journals. The second the twins see the books they tense up. "Where did you get those?" Dipper demands, their friendly demeanors vanishing as Dipper pushes his sister protectively behind him. "A girl gave them to me," Izuku says, raising his hands as if to say he meant no harm. "A girl?" Mabel asks. Izuku nods. "Yeah. About our age, long brown hair streaked with purple with really white skin?" he offers, but neither teen seemed to recognize the description. "Why did she give them to you?" Dipper asks suspiciously. "Well...You see that's kinda why we're here. I've been having some really weird nightmares and a while ago I woke up w-" Izuku is cut off as the bus arrives.

"Weird dreams?" Dipper asks, paling a lot. Mabel gently places a hand on his arm to calm him. "Let's...uh...Let's talk about this on the bus," she says, shepherding them all on quickly. Despite what she said, the bus ride was spent in silence no one sure what to do or say here. Mabel finally breaks the tension. "So, what are your names?" she asks. "I'm Midorya Izuku. These are my friends Bakugo Katsuki and Todoroki Shoto." He introduces earning him an explosive punch to the back of the head. "I can introduce myself, you damn Deku!" Bakugo yells angrily. "Whoa! How did you do that?!" Dipper asks. "Do what?" Katsuki growls in annoyance. "That! Make an explosion! I didn't see anything in your hand that could cause it." Dipper says. "What the hell you talkin' about. It's just my quirk." Bakugo says angrily. "Quirk?" The twins ask at the same time.

"You...don't know what a quirk is?" Izuku asks, shocked and confused. How was that possible? "I guess not?" Mabel says. "Tell us more," Dipper says excitedly, pulling out his journal from before and clicking his pen rapidly. "Uhhhh..." Izuku looks to his friends for help but they seem just as clueless. "Well...A quirk is a special talent or power. I mean...I'm surprised you don't know. Eighty percent of the world's population have quirks." he says. "Eighty...WHAT?!" Dipper yelps, dropping his pen in shock. "What the hell is wrong with you two. Are you dumb or something?" Katsuki says angrily, a bit freaked out by how clueless these two are about quirks. What the hell was going on?

"Do all of you have quirks too?" Dipper asks. "Well, duh," Bakugo says. "What are they?!" Dipper asks excitedly, picking his pen back up. "Well...Todoroki-Kun's is fire and ice..." Izuku says. "I can produce flames and ice from my right and left sides," Shoto explains, not minding as Dipper takes notes on this. He was used to it from Izuku. "I swear a substance like nitroglycerin," Katsuki grumbles also used to having notes written about him. "Cool! So that's how you made that explosion!" Dipper says, writing eagerly. "And you?" he asks, looking to Izuku. "UH! Well...Um...You see." Izuku fumbles for words in a panic. "Super strength." Katsuki cuts in, saving Izuku. "Cool!" Dipper smiles as Izuku relax, giving his friend a grateful smile which Bakugo ignores with a roll of his eyes.

The bus comes to a stop in the woods and the group of teens climb off. "If you have Gruncle Ford's journals you're probably headed to the Mystery Shack, right? We're headed there too. We can all go so Gruncle Ford doesn't freak out and try to shoot you!" Mabel says happily. "Try to...huh?" Izuku gulps. "He's a paranoid man," Dipper admits. "For a good reason, but still." He shrugs, turning and starting to follow sighs that point deeper into the woods. The UA students share an uneasy look before following them toward the Mystery Shack and, hopefully, answers.
