Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto; it is the property of Masashi Kishimoto. If I did own it, it would be a little like this story. Also, the OC characters that will be introduced later in the series belong to me.
Anyways, that's all from me folks! On to the chapter!
Far in the west away from the Land of Magic, a village stood close to the borders of the Land of Fire. It was a farming village, however, there was more than meets the eye. This is a quite popular tourist spot, and a perfect place for information gathering for ninja. The place was known as the Ocular village, or the Setsugan village, for if you look above from a high place with a good view, you could see that it has the shape of an eye. In the centre of the village was the market square, a place where people sell and buy goods which means this also is a trading village since this place mostly relies on their high-quality products that it grows, makes, and sells to other villages in the ninja world.
A certain man with white, long, spikey hair was wondering through the place, looking around for something that might pique his interest. He had hazel brown eyes, red markings going down from them to his chin, a large scroll on his back, wears a short green shirt kimono with matching pants, with mesh armour which he wears underneath. He also wears a black belt around his waist, has arm guards on his arms, traditional wooden sandals and a red haori with two yellow circles on each side. He also wears a horned headband with the kanji for 'Oil' on it.
This man's name was Jiraya, also known in the world of ninja as The Toad Sage and one of the three legendary sannin. At the moment, his destination was a small bar which is located right at the outskirts of the village where he will meet with someone. Any person that knows Jiraya on a personal level knows that he has one of the largest spy networks in the elemental nations.
-At The Bar-
Jiraya took a seat on one of the stools and asked the bartender for two drinks of sake, and not a moment later, a second person came through and sat down next to him. This person was one of Jiraya's many spies; He had short black hair, emerald, green eyes, fairly tanned skin, wears a normal bland and brown t-shirt with matching pants and a pair of shinobi sandals.
"What is it you needed to see me for Khan?" Jiraya asked the man now known as Khan.
"I've got some information that might interest you regarding the Land of Magic Jiraya-sama" Khan said getting straight to the point.
When Khan said that, Jiraya immediately stopped mid drink and put his glass down, swallowing his drink instantly without hesitation. "Spit it out" He ordered in quick succession.
"I've been searching for the Hidden Village Within Nature for years now, and I still cannot get any useful intel on its whereabouts" Jiraya stated.
"It's been difficult" Khan said in agreement to Jiraya's statement.
"But I have finally managed to locate the borders to the Land of Magic itself, where the Kitsune Village is located but it seems I cannot infiltrate it; guarded all around by youkai" He sighed, knowing how youkai have a grudge against humanity.
"Where is it?" Jiraya asked instantly.
"It's to the west from this village, although it will be a quite long journey…" Khan said.
"Possibly about a month's travel, full speed would be five weeks" He added.
"Damn" Jiraya said.
"So close, yet so far" Jiraya sighed as he took another sip of sake from his glass.
"What was the mission that Yondaime-sama give you anyways?" Khan asked out of curiosity.
"He asked me to find the legendary clan and forge an alliance with them" Jiraya answered.
"Do you really think the leader of the village will agree to the proposal? You know how kitsune and the overall youkai are towards humans right?" Khan asked, a little unsure of this.
"Who knows?" Jiraya rhetorically asked.
"You just got to try" He added with a grin on his face.
"If you say so" Khan sighed.
It was a comfortable silence for a moment with the exception of the ambience of other people's voices, before Jiraya broke the silence.
"Right, I will be going now, thank you for your time Khan" Jiraya said, standing up and paying for their drinks, leaving a tip as well.
"You're welcome, and be careful around kitsune, they are very skilled in stealth and their cunning is off the charts" Khan warned.
"Don't worry, I've got a few tricks of my own up my sleeves" Jiraya countered.
And just like that, the two ninja in disguise vanished from sight.
-Kitsune Village, Morning, 10am-
Naruto Okami Kitsune, the hyperactive multicolour haired 5-year-old with purple slitted eyes was wondering the streets with his parents wearing a traditional heavenly white kimono with matching pants, an intricate design of a golden dragon going down the middle of the kimono at the back, while a kanji for 'kitsune (狐)' was painted in pure black ink on the top right corner at the front. He decided that he liked going barefoot, since wearing socks and sandals is extremely uncomfortable for him.
All in all, he was a happy-go-lucky child adored by everyone in the village; Anyone that passed by him smiled, brightening up their day since he was a bundle of happiness, with anyone that gets the chance they teach the boy a new skill since he's always eager to learn something new. People might think that he has everything handed to him on a silver platter, however, that's not how it works in the Kitsune Village because you have to work hard in order to get what you want. That's how little Naruto prefers. He doesn't love being pestered by everyone who even TRY to spoil him, he just likes to get the results through hard work, training, dedication, and experience. He also hates people adding 'sama' at the end of his name. He really had enough of formalities. But the worst of all, however? Is every single popular guy's (or kitsune's in this case) worst nightmare… fangirls!
At the moment Inari, Kurama and Naruto were going towards a small park that's just over the bridge for some quality family time so they wouldn't be disturbed. Inari was carrying a basket that was covered by a blanket with red and white squares for a pattern like a modern kitchen floor. It is obvious that the family was going for a picnic since both parents had a day off from work today. Naruto was skipping along with a bright smile on his face holding his parent's hands for support so he could get some air time. His parents were looking at him with happy smiles on their faces, proud of Naruto that he took their teachings very well.
-The Park-
Once they have crossed the bridge, they instantly noticed that it was quite empty. Which was good because they didn't want anyone to disturb them. Once they entered, they took a spot at the edge close to where the clear and clean river is running along, hidden by the shade of the trees. Inari put the basket down and laid out the blanket on the soft green grass, sat down and started preparing the delicious meals she made earlier before they left. Inari noticed her son's reaction to the food she's putting on the blanket and giggled. Naruto always had the funniest reactions to his mother's meals; he was salivating slightly, his eyes were wide open and his single tail wagging furiously, while his nose was inhaling the aroma of all the seasonings she put on the food.
"That smells so good~!" Naruto said in a sing-song voice as he inhaled his mother's cooking.
"Be patient Naru-kun, remember what I said about patience" She gently scolded him through her small giggles.
"Sorry mother" He apologised with a smile on his face while he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
"You're just too good of a cook Mom!" Naruto complemented as he calmed down slightly.
"Thank you Naru-kun, I appreciate it" She thanked her son with a motherly smile on her face and ruffled his spiky white and red hair.
It was a comfortable silence for a moment, until Inari broke it.
"You know, if you grow your hair a little longer you'll look like lady Amaterasu" She suggested.
Naruto's eyes sparkled at the mention of Amaterasu, the sun goddess.
"Really?!" He asked with excitement visible on his face, stars in his eyes.
"Of course" She laughed slightly at his antics.
"Grandmother Amaterasu is my idol! I wanna be just like her one day!" He shouted unexpectedly.
Inari and Kurama smiled at his attitude, one day he will, maybe even surpass her. He wants to be just like his parents and his idol is Amaterasu. He has so many dreams he wants to achieve, and they believe in him.
'We believe in you Naruto' Inari and Kurama thought at the same time.
"You'll be starting the ninja school in two months and if you want to become strong like us then I'm your guy!" Kurama said as he stood up and pointed at himself with a grin on his face.
Naruto as usual, was full of excitement and started jumping up and down uncontrollably with a smile so wide that it could rival the crescent moon and tail wagging vigorously. Kurama grinned at his antics and ruffled the boy's hair which calmed the kid down slightly. Naruto pouted playfully at his father for doing that, making Kurama chuckle slightly.
"Alright, Alright son relax" He said with a fatherly smile on his face.
Naruto obliged and inhaled some fresh air and sighed in contempt.
"Don't take too long you two, don't forget lunch will be ready in an hour!" Inari reminded the boys.
"Sure Inari-hime! We won't forget!" He shouted back.
"Somehow I feel like you WILL forget Kurama-kun" Inari deadpanned.
Kurama scratched his head and whistled in denial, going off to his first training session with Naruto. Inari just shook her head at his antics with a smile on her face and continued to prepare the food.
-The coast of the river-
"Alright son! So, the first things that we'll learn today in order to get ahead of the other kits that could be your potential rivals for the top spot in the ninja school is that we'll be awakening your chakra and also learning two chakra control exercises to boot" Kurama said in a lecturing tone.
Naruto nodded in understanding.
"However, before even go as far as the chakra control exercises, we will have to get a basic understanding of what chakra is" Kurama continued.
Naruto nodded but raised his hand.
"How do you awaken your chakra?" Naruto asked curiously.
"Before I answer that question, I'll ask one of my own" Kurama countered.
Naruto patiently waited for his father's question.
"What is chakra?" Kurama asked.
"Chakra is a combination of both physical and spiritual energy" Naruto recited from his study sessions with his mother.
"That's right" Kurama agreed.
"Do you know what chakra is used for?" Kurama asked with an eyebrow raised, testing his son's knowledge.
It took a little while for Naruto to come up with a solid answer, but eventually he answered.
"Chakra can be used in many creative ways: such as moulding it to use jutsu, heal others through use of medical techniques using chakra, and climb trees and stand on water" Naruto paused for a second before continuing. "There are infinite numbers of uses for chakra" Naruto answered.
"You're correct son, good job! You're pretty smart for a kit you know that?" Kurama praised and watched his son swell his chest with pride, which made Kurama smile.
"Now then, it's time we get to training!" Kurama shouted.
"Yeah!" Naruto shouted soon after in excitement.
-1 hour later, after training-
The small Kitsune family were enjoying their nice and relaxing day eating and talking about different events that are going on right now in the village and also filling each other in on their daily routines at work. It was a peaceful moment until the screams of Naruto's worst enemy were heard from a distance and his parents saw him pale at the sound. 'Damn them fangirls!' Naruto thought in despair. He was literally prepared to book it out of here!
Kurama started laughing his head off while Inari just shook her head disappointment. Can't their parents teach them some restraint and about privacy?
"Can't the parents at least teach them how to show some respect to someone else's privacy? Obviously our Naruto-kun isn't comfortable being chased around like a cat" Inari sighed.
"I had fangirls chasing me all over the place when I was a kit" He said as he calmed down.
"And let me tell you, BOY was it annoying as hell!" Kurama grimaced at that memory.
And here they come.
"Naruto-kun~!" One of them shouted as she saw him.
"Naruto-kun!" Another shouted as she waved.
"Hi Naruto-kuuuun~!" Another shouted excitedly.
Luckily, they were only passing by since they can see that he's with his parents today.
"H-hi" He whispered and waved back nervously, which earned him slight giggles from the girls.
"School hasn't even started yet and I already have a damn fan club!" Naruto growled with a scowl on his face, irritation clearly visible.
"There, there Naru-kun" Inari said in a calming voice and rubbing his back to calm Naruto's nerves. Surely enough, it did.
"Let's go home" Kurama said as he started to pack up.
"Yeah" Inari agreed as she and Naruto joined in.
Suddenly, a Kitsune in a black robe with orange fox head designs painted on here and there with its hood up appeared behind a tree via teleport ability, and then using the Kitsune Magi sign language to send a message to the village leader.
'Human tried to breach Land of Magic border, more details at Kitsune Magi HQ' Kurama decoded the message in his head and narrowed his eyes at this new information.
"Sorry Inari-hime, Naruto-kun but I have to attend a meeting with the Kitsune Magi leader, so I'm afraid you two will have to go home without me" Kurama bowed in apology.
"It's alright Kurama-kun" Inari forgave him.
"Things just happen to us sometimes" Inari finished.
"It's okay dad! We can handle ourselves Dattebayo!" Naruto declared.
"If you say so kit!" Kurama ruffled his hair, which made the boy pout.
"Anyways, me and my friend here must be on our way now" Kurama finalised as he and the mysterious robed kitsune then used a Kitsune Bi shunshin without hand signs and disappeared out of thin air.
"Dad is so cool~!" Naruto's eyes were wide with awe.
"Does he really have to show off in front of us like this all the time?" Inari sighed as she finished packing, folded the blanket, and put it on the basket again and walked back home with little Naruto.
-Later, Kitsune Magi HQ-
The Kitsune Magi Headquarters, a hidden palace outside the Village Hidden In Nature. The entrance, looking like a normal cave is actually a mana crystal mine. The mana crystals all glow a bright blinding blue, full of energy. They are spread out across the elemental nations; however, it is most common in the Land of Magic. Mana, among youkai, is an extremely rare inheritance unless you are descended from a holy being (extremely rare), or a god or goddess. While the energy inside is a light blue in the crystal, it is a pure holy white when transferred into the system. It is the only fastest way or source to recharge a kitsune's or youkai's mana if they have it.
At the end of the cave was an iron steel door, completely camouflaged by the surrounding stone. Kurama stopped in front of it and put his hand on the print, which then the entrance showed an intricate seal design and the entrance to the headquarters creaked open. He had a scowl on his face, clearly not in a good mood. Who dares to disturb his family time?!
Once Kurama made it to his seat, which is made out of gold of course, he sat down impatiently. It was his day off from work today, this better be worth his damn time!
The room itself was a palace. White marble floor, quartz pillars with the designs of ancient gods on them, the ceiling as dark as the night sky with glowing star patters with the sun and moon on either side, and finally the meeting place – it was a table made out of hardened glass, enchanted with many spells so it doesn't accidentally break, a small pool of liquidised mana lies underneath. Surrounding the table were many chairs made of stone and many ores from the underground. All of the mages finally made their way into the room and sat down. With the main leader of the Magi sitting down on a ruby red throne on the opposite side of Kurama's throne of Pure Gold.
"You better have a damn good reason for taking me out of my free day" Kurama warned with a snarl.
"Now then, report" Kurama ordered.
The Magi leader spoke up with a calm tone to his voice. "A human tried to infiltrate The Land Of Magic earlier this morning" He spat at the word like it was heresy.
"However, some of the Magi crew spotted him and managed to apprehend him on the spot" He continued.
"And? What did this human look like?" Kurama interrupted.
Another member of the Magi stood up and described him for the leader. "He has short black hair, emerald, green eyes, fairly tanned skin, wears a normal bland and brown t-shirt with matching pants and a pair of shinobi sandals" the member described.
It was an awkward silence for a moment until Kurama spoke up.
"It's a spy" Kurama concluded with a glare that sent shivers down everyone's spine.
There were several gasps and there were silent whispers among the Magi.
The leader tapped his staff aggressively, which silenced everyone.
"We managed to get some pretty interesting information out of him" The leader said sternly in an elderly voice. A foxy grin spread across Kurama's face like a disease, threatening to split his face apart.
"What kind of information are we talking about here?" Kurama asked almost a little too eagerly, which again, sent many shivers down everyone's spine.
"Apparently, this man named Khan works in a spy network for a man that goes by the name of Jiraya" The leader informed.
It was quiet for a moment until Kurama whispered something to himself, although loud enough for everyone to hear. "Jiraya of the Sannin, also known as The Toad Sage of Mount Myoboku"
Everyone narrowed their eyes at this implication.
Kurama sighed and continued. "It seems we have finally been discovered after all this time, and we will be getting our first human visitor very soon" Kurama said.
"After being hidden away from the prying eyes of humans for so long it's time to finally adapt to the drastic changes we'll have to make" The Magi leader said and sighed as a mountain of paperwork was envisioned in his mind.
"Indeed" Kurama agreed.
"This meeting is adjourned" Kurama finalised, and everyone vanished in a swirl of fox fire.
-A Few Hours Later after the Meeting, Kitsune Family Household-
"Kit, Hime, I'm home!" Kurama barged into the house and did his usual routine before of course, he was greeted by a bundle of white and red joy, which made a leap into the arms of his father making him stumble slightly. Using the momentum, he spun around clockwise and stopped in the same direction he was facing. Instead of seeing the kitchen, he was seeing an excited little Naruto with a grin on his face. This made Kurama feel way better than before almost instantly.
"Hello my little Kit!" Kurama greeted with excitement.
"What has you so riled up today?" He asked curiously.
"Mother taught me three cool jutsu today while you were away!" Naruto answered excitedly, getting out of his father's grasp and grabbed his hand, trying desperately to get him to follow him into the garden. Kurama just allowed his son to drag him. He was curious as well.
"Oh?" Kurama questioned, playfully raising an eyebrow.
"You'll see soon enough dad!" Naruto replied excitedly.
Once they were outside in the garden, where Inari waiting for them, Kurama sat down on a bench next to her, who also had a smile on her face.
"How did it go?" Inari asked.
"Went better then I thought" Kurama answered indifferently.
"But I have some bad news Inari-chan; we've been discovered" He went straight to the point.
Inari's eyes went wide with shock at this.
"Human?" Inari asked. Kurama just nodded.
"Damn, there goes our peace" She sighed.
"Let's forget that for now, and let us watch our kit, apparently you taught him three new jutsu…" Kurama trailed off with curiosity.
Inari just nodded with a cheeky grin on her face.
"Mother, Father? You two ready to see the jutsu I learnt?!" He shouted with excitement in his voice.
"Sure thing kit, go ahead and show me what you got!" Kurama encouraged Naruto.
Naruto nodded in return and began a sequence of hand signs slowly, as to not make any mistakes.
Ram → Boar → Ox → Dog → Snake "Kawarimi No Jutsu!" He shouted before being replaced by a log which fell to the floor and Naruto was standing on the lake, where the log has been. Kurama and Inari clapped their hands in praise to which Naruto bowed like it was a show.
"Wow Naruto! That was a very nice attempt at this jutsu! I'm impressed!" Kurama praised.
"Anything else?" Kurama asked a bit impatiently.
"Heck yeah!" Naruto shouted as he bounced his way back to where his parents were.
"Well then, show me!" Kurama demanded excitedly.
Inari just smiled at this scene; it was heart-warming.
"Right!" Naruto said as he started making another set of hand signs.
Dog → Boar → Ram "Henge No Jutsu!" He shouted as he was enveloped in a puff of smoke, revealing later what is seen as a perfect replica of his father. Kurama walked up to Naruto in the transformation and stood next to him.
"Wo-wow" Inari stuttered slightly.
"I can't seem to know which one is the real you Kurama-kun" Inari said in a playful way and smiled.
"Good work kit! You can dispel the henge now and show us the final jutsu you have in store for us!" Kurama shouted excitement as he patted Naruto on the back, dispelling Naruto's transformation.
"Sure thing dad!" Naruto said in excitement as he did the last few hand signs for the last jutsu.
Ram → Snake → Tiger "Bunshin No Jutsu!" Naruto exclaimed as he was enveloped in yet another puff of smoke, revealing later as the smoke dissipated; two perfect clones of himself.
Inari's and Kurama's eyes widened and then they nodded in appreciation at the hard work and concentration taken to make this jutsu work, and clapped their hands, to which Naruto responded with a slight bow.
"Thank you, it took me a little while to get this jutsu down" Naruto said as he scratched the back of his head sheepishly at the praise he's receiving.
"It's alright Naru-kun" Inari said with a soft motherly smile on her face.
"All you have to do is continue to work hard and it will be like second nature for you" Kurama finished with a soft fatherly smile as Inari and Kurama made their way towards Naruto.
"After all, practice makes perfect right?" Kurama asked rhetorically.
"Yeah!" Naruto said with a nod and a bright smile on his face.
Inari and Kurama looked at each other and nodded.
"Naruto, as a result of your hard work and dedication, we decided that it is time to give you the honour of being the first ever fox summoner" Inari announced as a scroll appeared in front of her out of thin air.
"Yes, this scroll is usually passed down from generation to generation of the Kitsune Family, however no one was ever deemed worthy of being a fox summoner" Kurama explained.
Naruto was just purely stunned. He didn't know what to make of this! He was getting an awesome gift from mom and dad! Sure, he gets gifts on his birthday, the winter holiday celebrations but this is just too much to handle!
As Inari grabbed the scroll and un-rolled it to show empty columns, she and Kurama were immediately glomped by the bundle of sunshine and hugged them full force. Crying tears of happiness and joy.
"You're the best parents ever!" Naruto shouted as Kurama and Inari got back up and joined in the cute little emotional moment. They both smiled at this. It was expected. And they prepared for it.
Once it was over, Inari explained how it works.
"In order to summon you must first sign the contract with your own blood; Full name and your fingerprints afterwards" Inari instructed.
Naruto got his bearings straight again as he took a few long, deep breaths and did as he was told; Bit his finger, wrote his own full name delicately and neatly and put his fingerprints at the bottom signifying that he was the official first ever fox summoner.
Inari nodded at his handiwork and the scroll rolled itself back up and poofed out of existence.
"Now then, watch carefully to what I am doing alright Naru-kun?" she instructed.
"Yes mother" Naruto obliged and watched his mother do the hand signs.
Boar → Dog → Bird → Monkey → Ram "Ninja Art: Summoning Jutsu!" Inari shouted as she slammed her hand down onto the ground and seal markings on the ground before out of a tiny bit of smoke, a small orange fox appeared in front of its summoner. The fox yipped before Inari nodded and the little fox went back home to its world.
"Your turn now Naru-kun" Inari said as she stepped back along with Kurama who was watching all of this in silence with a smile on his face.
Naruto nodded and did the hand signs slowly, so he doesn't make a mistake.
Boar → Dog → Bird → Monkey → Ram "Ninja Art: Summoning Jutsu!" He shouted as he slammed his hand on the ground, intricate seal designs appeared on the ground before being enveloped by a large cloud of smoke. Naruto coughed a little while waving his hand around to get it away from him. When the smoke cleared however, he saw a beauty standing in front of him; A fox with white fur and blue marking stood before Naruto, eyeing him with its emerald, green eyes carefully analysing him, its eight tails swinging behind it. In Naruto's case, he was in complete awe, staring right at the season winter itself.
"You're just like the season of winter" Naruto whispered, still stunned by it.
The fox just smiled at the boy and nodded its head. Yes, it was a great choice to make him the fox summoner.
"Why thank you little one, you're very flattering you know that?" the fox asked rhetorically in a feminine voice.
"My name is Luna, It's a pleasure to say that you are officially the first ever fox summoner!" the fox announced.
"It will be an honour to work with the son of Inari-sama and Kurama-sama, see you soon Naruto-sama" the fox bowed and then poofed away back to her world.
Naruto just didn't have anything to say. However, only three words managed to come out of his mouth:
"That… was… AWESOME!" Naruto shouted.
Suddenly, the moment was ruined by a grumbling stomach. Inari, Kurama and Naruto put their hands on their tummies instinctively and everyone blushed in slight embarrassment.
"Dinner anyone?" Inari asked as she clasped her hands together.
Naruto and Kurama stared at each other, before they both shared a foxy grin with Inari.
"Hell Yeah!" They both shouted in unison.
-5 weeks later-
Jiraya stood outside the great Torii gates of the Village Hidden In Nature, the orange fox symbol in the centre signifying that this is the Kitsune Village quite clearly. He sighed in satisfaction and breathed in the foreign fresh air. Finally, after 6 years of searching, he discovered the village. It would be an honour to be the first one to put it on the map. To be honest, he has never expected to be shocked at such beautiful architecture; but here he is now staring at the gates in complete awe. However, he was brought out of his thoughts when a fireball came at him from above out of nowhere.
When Jiraya looked up, he saw a four, red tailed Kitsune that had spiky red hair with orange ears at the top and had red slitted eyes. He was wearing a complete battle kimono that has a black belt tied to his waist to keep it from falling. His tails were swaying in an aggressive manner and glowing with yoki energy, the Kitsune was ready for an all-out fight. That made Jiraya worry slightly, a bit of sweat forming and dropping at the side of his cheek, since he knows he can't match up to the power of a Kitsune that has four tails or higher; unless it is an untrained youkai and not as rational, smart, and calm when it comes to a fight. From a simple glance, that Kitsune is definitely a hot-headed one, easy to anger. That doesn't mean he should let his guard down around him though.
"HUMAN!" The kitsune at the top of the gates shouted at Jiraya.
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!" He shouted dramatically.
"HOW DARE YOU TRESSPASS INTO OUR LAND WITHOUT PERMISSION!" His voice seemed to get louder.
Jiraya sweat dropped at this ones antics, but before he could say anything, two other kitsune appeared by the angry one's side. From what he could tell, the one on the left was a female and the one on the right was a male. The female having long ocean blue hair going down to her waist, light blue fox ears at the top to contrast and two turquoise tails also swinging behind her in an aggressive manner. Although, this one was much calmer and seemed to stare at him with an analytical expression with her dark blue slitted eyes. Of course wearing the same matching coloured battle kimono with a red belt tied to her waist so the kimono wouldn't fall off her and light blue shinobi sandals.
The male kitsune on the right however was worrying him the most: Although he had a bored expression on his face, he had neat black hair with black fox ears at the top, onyx black eyes with one tuft of hair covering his right eye, wearing a black battle kimono which also has a red belt tied to his waist, black shinobi sandals and five black tails were swinging behind him casually. It's like he wants to be anywhere else then dealing with the damn human.
The female punched the red haired kitsune in the shoulder, which made the redhead stumble a bit.
"What was that for?!" The redhead rubbed his shoulder as he shouted in her face.
"That was for almost jumping into a fight without thinking about the situation first you moron!" She shouted back at him, making the redhead stagger and rub his head sheepishly.
"Yare Yare Daze…" The dark haired kitsune sighed in annoyance.
"Let's just get this over and done with…" He whispered quietly, although loud enough for the other two to hear.
"Right!" They both said at the same time.
They jumped down in front of Jiraya and stared at him for a moment, before the dark-haired boy sighed and began his speech.
"Alright, first off… introductions" He started off.
"I am Kinzoku, and these are my two team mates Kaen and Kaiyō" He introduced.
"Hi there!" Kaiyō chimed in.
"Hi, human…" Kaen growled out.
Jiraya grinned at them as he stood back before doing his infamous introduction. After he finished, the three kitsune sweat dropped at him and stared with a deadpanned expression at him.
"What?" Jiraya questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"Did you not like my introduction?" He asked with a shocked expression.
"Were you dropped on your head as a baby or something?" The redhead rhetorically asked the man.
"Cause' if you did, you need to get yourself checked out…" The redhead finished and the other two nodded in agreement.
"Anyways…" Kinzoku trailed off as he slapped a strong chakra seal on Jiraya.
'Should've known…' Jiraya sighed.
'Security is tight when outsiders are involved' Jiraya thought to himself.
"Don't think about breaking the seal, it's a special demon chakra seal that can't be broken by humans" Kinzoku reminded Jiraya.
'Damn… so I won't be able to break it, clever bastards' Jiraya thought.
"Before you enter the village, what is your purpose here human Jiraya?" Kinzoku asked him.
"I'm here to meet the leader of this village, I want to have a discussion with him" Jiraya answered as a matter of fact.
"So you're here to meet the Great Sage for a chat…" Kaiyō trailed off.
"All that trouble of searching for our village just for a chat with our leader?" Kaen scoffed.
"That's kinda worthless if you ask me" Kaen finished.
"It's an important matter, that's all you need to know" Jiraya finalised.
"Alright, you're allowed to enter the village, however, you will be on probation for an entire week, understand?" Kinzoku finalised and Jiraya nodded in understanding.
"This is the first time we are allowing a human to enter our village, so behave or get kicked out" Kaiyō warned as she and Kaen walked off.
"Open the gates!" Kaen shouted and they slid open, making Jiraya's eyes widened at what he saw when the gates fully revealed the village.
-Inside the village, security check area-
The first thing that happened with Jiraya when he entered the village was that he got instantly teleported into an area that looks like the T&I division centre, although it is only an area where you get checked for anything that can be a threat to the village. His kunai and shuriken holsters were taken away and put into a storage area, where once he leaves the village or his probation week ends, he could have them back. His seal tags and large scroll also taken into custody, and his memories were searched for any possibilities of him being a spy or threat to the village.
Jiraya's body was then scanned with magic to check for any irregularities and or secret weapons. When they were sure he was in the clear, the guards let him into the village.
"You're in the clear and are free to go" The Magi guard said.
"Just step onto the teleporter and you'll be back where you were a while ago" The guard directed.
Jiraya bowed to the guard and walked towards a metal circle with strange markings on the inside of it. Once he stepped on the strange circle, he was teleported out of the area and back to the front of the village.
'Sheesh, that took longer than I thought, they really need to lighten up a bit' Jiraya thought to himself.
'But I guess it does make sense since they are not used to outsiders, especially the human kind' Jiraya sighed as he noticed the looks he was receiving as he walked further into the village.
'Well, time to go sightseeing!' Jiraya finished his train of thought and started marvelling at the sights.
-In the village, a few hours later-
'Man, that was an amazing self-tour! This architecture is damn beautiful, but not as beautiful as the fox girls here!' Jiraya giggled to himself as he stared at all the 'features' of the vixens, which didn't go unnoticed by them and the vixens that passed by him scowled at him from time to time.
'Can't wait until my probation is over so I could go to the local hot springs and look at the naked vixens! That's some new inspiration for the new Icha Icha series!' Jiraya giggled to himself again and his perverted smile grew bigger until his thoughts were interrupted by a member of The Magi coming out of nowhere from the shadows.
"Your presence at the Nature Temple is required, you are to meet with the Great Sage at once" The Magi member ordered.
"I understand" Jiraya said and the member disappeared in a shunshin of fox fire.
'Guess it's time to get this over with' Jiraya thought to himself and sighed and started his trek towards the temple where the Great Sage resides.
-The Nature Temple, Throne Room-
Jiraya was kneeling in front of the great Nine-Tailed Fox, also known as Kurama, the most powerful of the tailed beasts. Kurama was in his large fox form, lying on the mat and staring at him with an analytical and sceptical eye. Jiraya himself wasn't the kind of person to submit to another that easily, but against the most powerful of the Biju? Hell no! He better behave around him! A bead of sweat rolled down the right side of his cheek as the tension was high in the air.
"You may stand, human" Kurama reassured in his deep guttural voice, that was at the same time calm and threatening.
Jiraya stood slowly and looked at the Nine-Tails with his own fierce look.
"What is your purpose being in this village?" Kurama asked.
"What do you hope to achieve?" Kurama finished.
"I am here on behalf of the Yondaime Hokage, Minato Namikaze, who has proposed an alliance with The Kitsune Clan, he says that he wishes to bring youkai and the human race together one day and my goal is to one day find the answer to peace and end the constant bloodshed that's plaguing the shinobi world" Jiraya stated with determination.
Kurama narrowed his eyes at this. 'That's my son's dream, to bring the humans and youkai together as one someday' He thought to himself.
'However, I still feel like The Hidden Leaf is up to something' Kurama thought of the worst-case scenario.
"Me and the council will have to discuss this proposal you offer for a couple days, as much as I hate humans and hate to give this information out to you, I feel like for some reason I should trust you" Kurama said hesitantly.
Jiraya perked up at this declaration. 'This giant fox trusts me with classified information?' He questioned.
"My name is Kurama, and I want to say that my son has the same dream as your 'Yondaime Hokage' as you call him. He's five at the moment and will soon start Ninja School that's going to open in two months" Kurama said and looked at the man sceptically and saw his eyes widen at the information.
"You have a son?" Jiraya asked in awe.
Kurama nodded.
"What's his name?" Jiraya asked curiosity.
"Naruto" Was Kurama's answer.
Jiraya's eyes were now wide as saucers and a big smile crossed his face.
"The first ever book I wrote was called 'The Tale of the Utterly Gutsy Shinobi', and the name of the main character in it is also called Naruto" Jiraya said rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.
"I see" Kurama chuckled slightly.
"Anyways, we'll get to this at a later date, for now, I think I'll be heading back home to see my wife and kid" Kurama stood up and stretched his paws and then transformed into his hanyou form.
"Should I come with you?" Jiraya asked a little hopefully.
"As much as I hate to say it, you'll be staying with us for a while, our house has a guest room, so it should be fine" Kurama said.
"Great, let's go then!" Jiraya shouted.
Kurama sighed tiredly. 'At least this is one step closer towards Naruto's dream'
-Kitsune Household, late evening-
"Kit, Hime, I'm home!" Kurama shouted as he busted the door down like usual.
Kurama went to do his usual routine, while also explaining some house rules that they've put in place since Inari has given birth to Naruto. Jiraya obviously followed the rules, he doesn't want to piss off the all-mighty powerful Kyuubi. When Kurama was just about ready to drop on the couch to take a slight nap, he heard the footsteps of his hyperactive kit. He prepared himself for the inevitable. Jiraya noticed the deadpanned expression Kurama was showing and was curious about what was going on, of course he heard the footsteps as well.
"What's with the look on your face?" Jiraya asked.
"You'll see in just a second" Kurama answered with a tired sigh.
"DADDY!" Came the inevitable shout of the one and only Naruto, who was running towards his father like a kid on a sugar rush.
"Come here kit!" Kurama shouted with a fatherly smile on his face while holding his hands out ready for the big hug. He regretted that as soon as he was tackled to the floor with Kurama letting a big "Umph!" as the air was forced out of his lungs slightly.
"You were away for so long today papa!" Naruto said.
"I apologise for that son, but I had a long day of work today and I'm really tired" Kurama explained.
"Oh, okay! I forgive you! But be back earlier next time!" Naruto said excitedly as he helped his father stand back up.
"Alright, I promise" Kurama said as he ruffled the kids hair.
"Aww, that was a lovely scene" Jiraya commented after being silent for so long.
Kurama glared at Jiraya, while Naruto was slightly wary of the new visitor that he just finally noticed. Taking a whiff of this man's scent, he realised that he was a human and was now on full alert. Kurama noticed this and hid Naruto behind him to which he obliged instantly and grabbed on to his father's hand tightly. Kurama sighed tiredly, this is going to be a long week…
As if on cue, Inari was making her way downstairs. When her figure fully emerged from the heavens, Jiraya brought out his notebook and started writing furiously, while he had a blush on his face and steam was coming out of his ears. Inari scowled at him, since she knew what that man was up to and started doing some gestures with her hands and saying some unknown words in another language. Kurama and Naruto knew what she was about to do and went as far away from Jiraya as possible.
Dō → Dō "Death Ray!" She shouted and a beam of purple energy came out of her being instantly and vaporised the book it touched. Jiraya paled once he managed to sneak a peak at the incoming Ray of Doom, decided that it would be best not to EVER anger the woman.
"You are NOT using me as inspiration for your dirty books human!" She growled.
"You're lucky that this attack didn't hit you and requires pinpoint accuracy!" She explained in a hateful tone.
"Next time you break a rule in this house, I'll be sure not to miss next time" She finalised and grinned evilly at the man. Jiraya nodded his head furiously and bowed while muttering apologies. He should've realised who this woman was sooner before he did anything stupid. Jiraya will keep in mind to not mess with Inari.
Speaking of Inari, she finally calmed herself down by taking deep breaths of air and turned to her husband and child. "You two may relax now, I can feel no ill will towards us or this village in this man" She said and the two visibly relaxed and breathed a sigh of relief.
"Now, can you tell me what this human is doing in our home?" Inari asked as she turned to her husband with a slight glare, while Kurama sighed tiredly and rubbed his temples.
"He's going to stay with us for a while, while me and the council will discuss Jiraya's proposal" Kurama answered.
"And that is?" She continued.
"The proposal is that Lord Hokage wants an alliance with your village, and he sent me as the messenger" Jiraya finished for Kurama, getting back into serious mode.
"I see…" Inari trailed off in thought.
"You can have as much time as you'd like to think about it" Jiraya reassured them.
"Right…" Kurama said.
Little Naruto just decided to go outside into the garden to practise the 'academy three' as they're known in The Leaf, and some of the other jutsu that his parents taught him. Maybe also practise some chakra control exercises and play with the local friendly youkai that are around. Of course he'd let mother know first before going out. Inari nodded and let him off and the adults were left to themselves. Of course in a conversation on getting to know somebody else starts off with the basics: Name, likes and dislikes, hobbies, dreams, life and so on. Little by little, the family of three got to know the legendary pervert Jiraya better and started to just trust him little by little.
-A week later, Nature Temple, Second Floor Council Room-
The week had gone by and today marks the day where the decision will be made final by the Kitsune Village Council and The Great Sage Kurama himself. Jiraya was standing in front of the council, ready to hear their answer.
"We have made our decision Jiraya-san" Han started off.
"What is your answer?" Jiraya asked nervously.
"We have been discussing this for a very long time and it was tough" Han continued and turned his attention to Kurama, who was silent for a moment, before he stood up, and slammed the stamp of approval on the document that Jiraya passed on from the Hokage and now to Kurama.
"I approve of this alliance" Kurama stated and Jiraya had a small and genuine smile appear on his face, his happy moment was ruined when the dreaded "On one condition…" came from Kurama. The tension was slightly high in the air.
"What is that condition, Kurama-sama?" Jiraya asked.
"If and by any chance we sense a sign of betrayal, even if it is small, we are resigning from the alliance" Kurama finalised and Jiraya nodded in understanding.
"I'll be sure to pass that on to the Hokage" Jiraya said as a council member gave him back the alliance document in a file.
"This meeting is adjourned" Kurama said and everyone began to leave.
"This is goodbye for now" Jiraya said.
"You're leaving now?" Kurama asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yup! I was told to return as soon as possible to the village, plus, I have a spy network to maintain" Jiraya explained.
"I understand" Kurama nodded.
"Although I will miss this place, especially the adorable knucklehead" Jiraya said.
"You mean Naruto? Yeah, the kit is fun to be around once you get to personally know him" Kurama said with a proud fatherly smile.
"Yeah, and your wife can be pretty scary at times, not gonna lie" Jiraya said.
"Heh, only when you piss her off" Kurama shuddered slightly.
-At the Village Gates-
"I guess this is goodbye" Jiraya said sadly as he made sure he got all of his equipment.
"I thank you again for your hospitality, Kurama-sama, Inari-sama" Jiraya bowed thankfully.
"You're welcome, and stop with the -sama, just Inari is fine" Inari said.
"Same here" Kurama added.
Jiraya smiled and then started walking out of the village, the married couple said their goodbyes while Naruto was waving and saying best wishes to his travels. Once Jiraya was gone, the gates shut and the family made their way back home with smiles on their faces.
Things are about to get more interesting…
End of chapter
Now that was a wild rollercoaster ride right there! This is the end of the prologue arc! We will now move on to the 1st arc of this series! The Ninja 101 arc, where Naruto will go through The Ninja School in his village and The Ninja Academy in The Leaf Village!
Sorry for taking a long time to write this chapter, I was making my way down the road of life…
Now pairings, I'm going to have a poll up on my profile soon if you want this to be either a harem or just pair him with a single girl. I can't decide on my own since it's a hard choice because I like quite a few ships for example, NaruHina is one of them, and NaruFu is another that I like. There will be character bashing once we get to the leaf village part, but those characters will be redeemed later on.
I decided to name the Holy Energy myself, and its official name is going to be Mana.
New Jutsu/Attacks Used:
Death Ray – Blast an opponent with a purple beam of energy. Usually, one hit is lethal, however, it requires pinpoint accuracy and quite a bit of mana.
Teleport – An ability where the user envisions a location he or she knows, and then instantly travels to that location. Distance is limited within their own respective home village.
Please read, favourite, follow and review!
Anyways, that's all I have to say for now, and I'll see you all in the next chapter…
Ja Ne!
