Chapter 4

Around 10:40 A.M., Nick and Erica stepped into Third Eye bookstore.

When Helen saw them walk in, she greeted them with, "Good morning, Detectives. What brings you two in?"

Nick and Erica glanced around as they walked towards Helen.

When they saw that there was no customers in the main part of the store, Nick looked towards Helen and said, "I'm here to talk to you about Olivia Cain."

"Okay," Helen began in an uncertain manner. "What about Olivia Cain?"

"She is what a Wesen would call a witness, and since you had looked at her dream journal and the newspaper clippings that correlate to each of her dreams, I'm certain that you know that," Nick replied while studying Helen's body language.

"Yes, I figured out that she's a witness after seeing the first two pages of her dream journal," Helen replied in a curious tone. "But how do you know that I looked at her journal? Better still, how do you know her, and how do you know that she's a witness? And I would prefer if you answered my second and third questions before my first one."

"Yesterday afternoon, Erica and I met Olivia outside Exotic Spice & Tea Shop." As Nick gestured between Erica and himself, he continued to say, "We caught her pointing a camera at the shop. After dragging the truth out of her, we learned that she was having psychic dreams about the Wesen community, but she thought that she was having dreams about demons. In fact, she was outside the shop to expose Monroe as being a wolf demon. I told her what she was actually dreaming about and then I introduced her to Monroe and Rosalee. When Monroe learned about Olivia's dreams, he informed us that Olivia wasn't a normal psychic, but that she was a witness. Monroe then warned Olivia that certain Wesen would kill her if they would find out what she is."

"That's true," Helen replied. "Some Wesen will kill Olivia if they find the chance to do so just because she is a witness. But how did Olivia know that Monroe was a Blutbad?"

"As of yesterday, Olivia has also been getting visions of Wesen while woged after physically coming into contact with a Wesen," Nick replied. "And Olivia had crossed paths with Monroe earlier that day at Katco."

"Oh," Helen let out in a tone as if everything made sense. "I had shaken Olivia's hand when her grandfather introduced her to me. She must have gotten a vision of me when I would woge. She used the restroom right after we shook hands, and that was when she called you and told you that I was looking at her dream journal and those newspaper clippings."

"Actually, she called the spice shop and talked with Rosalee, and then Rosalee called me," Nick informed. "Anyway, I'm here to inform you that Olivia had better not turn up dead all of a sudden; otherwise, I will start my investigation with you and your sisters."

"Detective Burthardt, I assure you that my sisters and I have no desire to harm Olivia or any other witness," Helen replied.

"For your sake, I hope that's true," Nick replied.

"It's true," Helen sincerely proclaimed.

"Okay. Good," Nick replied.

"Out of curiosity, Detective Burthardt, how much do you know about a witness?" Helen questioned.

"I just know what Monroe had told me yesterday," Nick replied. "Witnesses are psychics who dream about the Wesen community, and after waking up from their dreams, they are compelled to write out the details of their dreams. Oh, and Monroe had also mentioned that a witness would get irritable if he or she is unable to write about his or her dream."

"Yes, most witnesses—if not all—will get irritable if they are unable to write about their dreams," Helen replied. "What else do you know about them?"

"Witnesses become witnesses after their fifteenth birthdays," Nick replied. "Although, Monroe was a bit surprise that Olivia had her first psychic dream the morning after her fifteenth birthday. Also Monroe was puzzled that Olivia was dreaming about Wessen activity days before they actually happen."

"Yes, witnesses don't normally dream of future events, and for Olivia becoming a witness right on her fifteenth birthday is a bit unheard of as well," Helen replied. "The minimum gestation period for a witness is no less than fifteen years and two weeks. In fact, the average gestation period for a witness takes as long as fifteen years and three months."

"Gestation period?" Nick questioned.

Helen slightly grinned before saying, "Fun fact for your Grimm knowledge, Detective Burthardt. Witnesses are not natural psychics and most of them—if not all—would have never been psychics."

"Are you telling us that witnesses are created?" Erica was the one to ask.

"Yes, but not deliberately," Helen replied. "In fact, I don't think it is possible to deliberately create a witness."

"So how does a witness get created?" Nick asked.

"Remember when we first met five years ago, and I told you the difference between a male Faye and female Faye?"

"I do," Nick replied. "Female Faye are seers and they are always born either as identical twins or as identical triplets. If the sisters are twins, one sister will see the immediate future to the distant future and the other twin will see the immediate past to the distance past.

"If the sisters are triplets then one sister will see events that will take place after one month in the future, the second sister will see events that are over a month old and the third sister will see events that will take place within a month, along with seeing events that had taken place that are no more than a month old. However, what I'm concerned about is when Woge and holding hands, the sisters—whether they are twins or triplets—can see a person's entire life from birth to death, and can manipulate a person's life or manipulate when a person dies if they choose to."

Helen slightly grinned before saying, "Yes, we had this discussion before, Detective, and to reiterate, my sisters and I do not do anything to change a person's fate."

"Which is the only reason that I'm leaving you and your sisters alone," Nick replied.

"Anyway, Detective, what do you remember about a male Faye?" Helen asked.

"Male Faye are not born as identical twins or as identical triplets; however, even though it's rare, they can be born as fraternal twins or as fraternal triplets," Nick replied. "And they are empaths—they can sense what others are feeling on a physical and emotional level."

"Yes, and because they can sense what others are feeling on a physical and emotional level they are compelled to help the suffering—even at the risk to themselves. And they do that by either going into the medical profession or into the priesthood," Helen added.

"As fascinating as this subject is, what does any of this have to do with how a witness is created?" Nick asked.

"I'm getting to it," Helen said with a grin. "Anyway, when we get sick with the flu—we being Faye—we don't display the flu symptoms as any Kehrseite would. In fact our outward appearance will appear as if we are quite healthy; however, our minds will be affected."

"In what way?" Nick asked.

"Female Faye with the flu could appear as if she is having a very bad bout of schizophrenia when in fact she is either seeing the present and the past or the present and the future simultaneously," Helen replied. "And a male Faye with the flu could unintentionally inflict others with whatever mood that he is in at the time. However, when it comes to Kehrseite newborns who are less than seven days old, a male Faye with the flu could start the process of altering a newborn's brain if the male Faye comes into direct contact with the baby, and the alteration process takes a minimum of fifteen years and two weeks to complete."

"So a male Faye with the flu had turned Olivia into a witness when Olivia was only a few days old," Erica commented.

"If Olivia was a normal witness, my answer would be yes, but Olivia isn't a normal witness so the answer isn't that simple," Helen replied.

"Helen, if a male Faye with the flu didn't turn Olivia into a witness, do you know what did?" Nick quickly asked.

"A hybrid between Faye and a second Wesen with the flu is who turned Olivia into a witness," Helen replied. "A Faye/Wesen hybrid—regardless of gender—could be a seer or an empath or a little bit of both. Although, the one who turned Olivia into a witness has to have empathic abilities. Anyway, a Faye/Wesen hybrid with the flu is the only one who could create an irregular witness."

"You told me once that the Faye was the purist bloodline within the Wesen community," Erica began, "So how could that be if there are Faye/Wesen hybrids."

In a slightly heartbroken tone and a slight frown, Helen replied, "Faye/Wesen hybrids are always born sterile, detective. So any impure bloodline among the Faye community doesn't go past the first generation of impurity. Oh, and also female Faye/Wesen hybrids will never be born as identical twins or as identical triplets, but they can be born as fraternal twins or as fraternal triplets. However, Detective Burthardt, you should know that children born between a Faye and a Kehrseite are either one hundred percent Faye or one hundred percent Kehrseite. They are not considered hybrids, they are as fertile as any other Faye or Kehrseite and any female Faye born with one Kehrseite parent will always be born either as identical twins or as identical triplets."

"Good to know," Nick replied. "Is there anything else that I should know?"

Helen thought for a moment before saying, "The worse Faye/Wesen hybrid that this world has ever encountered was a hundred years ago, and the hybrid's parents were a female Faye and a Zauberbiest. The hybrid was a Hexenbiest, and her name was Elizabeth. Elizabeth had all of the Hexenbiest powers, along with the Faye sisters' combined ability of seeing a person's past, present and future from birth to death. Lucky for the world, Elizabeth also had the Faye's weaknesses."

"Would you answer if I ask about the Faye's weaknesses?" Erica questioned.

"A Grimm is the only Faye weakness that I know about," Nick commented.

"Grimms and a Faye's direct family members are the only weakness that a Faye has," Helen began. "Female Faye cannot see a Grimm's past or future and they cannot see close family members' past or future. Also, Detective Espinosa, since you work so closely with a Grimm, a Faye would only be able to see fragments of your past and future."

"Which parts of my past and future would you not be able to see?" Erica questioned.

"I'll put it to you this way," Helen began. "If you remained within thirty feet of Detective Burthardt between now and to when you die of old age, your life from this point forward would remain invisible to all Faye."

"That's good to know," Erica replied.

"Is there anything else that you would like to share?" Nick asked.

Helen thought for a moment before saying, "I have nothing else to share with you, detective."

"Okay, this was a very informative visit," Nick replied as the door to the shop was opening. Two young men and a young woman walked in. "However, Erica and I need to get back out there and solve a case that we're working on, and you have customers coming in."

"Have a good day, detectives," Helen told them.

"I hope so," Erica replied. "And you do the same."

"Thanks," Helen replied before Nick and Erica could move towards the door.

As Nick and Erica were leaving, Helen was greeting the arriving customers.

Nick drove, and after Nick and Erica were back in their respective seats, Nick said, "We need to go farther back into Professor Knight's history. I now think that the triclops who killed him is from his distant past… perhaps one of his classmates when he was a student or one of his childhood friends."

"After learning what I did about how Wesen witnesses are created, I was actually thinking the same thing," Erica replied as her cellphone rang. When Erica looked at who was calling, she saw that it was from Detective Jonas Brown before answering. "Jonas, what's up?"

"Tabitha handed me an autopsy report on Dr. Beverly Cooper and the report matches the autopsy report for Professor Jeremy Knight." Erica clicked on the speaker function of her phone as Jonas continued to say, "So I think my case on Dr. Beverly Cooper and your case on Professor Jeremy Knight are related."

"Who's Dr. Beverly Cooper?" Erica asked. "Also when did she die, and where did she die?"

"Dr. Beverly Cooper was a Eureka Labs' star employee," Jonas replied. "Tabitha estimates her time of death as being between midnight and 3:00 A.M., last Sunday. However, it wasn't until yesterday evening when her body was discovered in the alleyway behind the club Cats in a Box by Portland City Waste Management. Anyway, since I have my hands full with missing teenage girls, I was hoping that you would take over this case."

"We would be happy to take Beverly Cooper's case off your hands," Nick was the one to say. "Put what you have on my or Erica's desk."

"Will do. Out," Jonas replied before ending the call.

Nick drove to the police station and once there, he and Erica took an hour to search for any connection that Professor Jeremy Knight and Dr. Beverly Cooper might have with one another.

Once Nick and Erica decided that there was no connection between the two victims, they grabbed what they needed from the two cases—which included the most recent photos of both victims when they were alive—and left the police station.

Between 12:30 P.M. and 1:00 P.M., Nick and Erica grabbed a bite to eat, and by 1:05 P.M., the two were walking up to Anthony (a doorman for Cats in a Box club).

Anthony didn't notice their badges that were attached to their belts, and held out two cards for them to each take one before saying, "You'll have to correctly answer the equation on the card before either of you are allowed to enter."

Nick and Erica each looked at the cards that they were handed, and the equation on each of the two cards were from high lever physics.

"Sorry," Nick replied as he held out the card for Anthony to retake. "That math is way over my head."

"Then I'm afraid, that I can't allow you to enter," Anthony replied.

Erica indicated to her badge while saying, "I think you can make an exception in my and my partner's case."

"Oh, you're detectives," Anthony verbally took note of.

"We are," Erica replied. "And we are here investigating the death of Dr. Beverly Cooper."

"Yes, I heard that she was found dead behind the club," Anthony replied. "Tragic. I'm going to miss her."

"So Dr. Cooper was a regular here?" Nick questioned.

"Yes, she would come in at least once a week; either on a Friday or a Saturday," Anthony replied. Nick readied Professor Jeremy Knight's photo. "And I was working the door last Saturday afternoon, and she got here around 7:00 P.M."

"Was she alone?" Erica questioned.

"Well, aren't we all alone?" Anthony playfully asked. When Erica shot him an 'I'm not in a joking mood' look he continued to say, "Yes, she was alone last Saturday. Most everyone who comes here is alone. In fact, that's why Sheldon opened this club. So us lonely smart nerds can go and socialize and be among our peers."

"Do you know when Dr. Cooper left?" Erica questioned.

"Sorry, I don't," Anthony replied. "My shift ended at eight, and she was still inside. I was tired that day, so I went home right after my shift had ended."

When Erica nodded, Nick held up Professor Jeremy Knight's photo.

"Has this man ever been in here?" Nick asked as he indicated to the photo.

Anthony took a moment to look at the photo before saying, "Sorry, I don't recognize him. Is he who might have killed Dr. Cooper?"

"No," Nick replied as he went to put the photo away. "He's also a victim. He died the same way as Dr. Cooper."

"And how was that?" Anthony asked. "How did they die?"

"I'm afraid how they died is privilege information," Nick replied before gesturing towards the door. "Anyway, we have questions for the owner or manager."

"The owner's name is Sheldon Michaels and he's inside," Anthony replied before opening the door for Nick and Erica. "Most likely, he'll be at the bar."

"I appreciate your cooperation," Erica told Anthony before walking in first.

The inside was partitioned off like how one would find at a convention center. The front section of the club was set up to play games of some sort, whether it was Dungeon and Dragon type games or video games. The back section of the club was set up for drinking, socializing at tables, singing karaoke, shooting pool and throwing darts.

The front half of the club was moderately crowded with gamers, but the back half only had a few people socializing at the bar and tables.

Nick and Erica looked around as they walked towards the bar and noticed surveillance cameras at a few points. After reaching the bar, they were greeted by the bartender.

"What can I get you two?" the bartender continued.

Nick showed the bartender his badge and asked, "Are you Mr. Sheldon Michaels?"

"I'm Sheldon Michaels," a man on a nearby bar stool said.

Nick showed Sheldon his badge as he told him, "My partner and I are here investigating the death of Dr. Beverly Cooper."

Sheldon nodded before saying, "I will cooperate with you fully, detectives. What do you need?"

"For starters, we would like to get copies of your surveillance videos of last Saturday," Nick replied.

"I recently purchased blank discs, so you're in luck, detective," Sheldon replied as he stood up. "Follow me and I'll burn you a copy of each video."

As Nick and Erica followed behind Sheldon, Nick asked, "Mr. Michaels, did you know Dr. Cooper?"

"I prefer to be called Sheldon, and yes, I knew Beverly," he replied as he led the way across the room. "She was destined to do great things and change the world for the better, but now, her death had caused the world to lose out. How exactly did she die, anyway?"

"We can't answer that?" Nick replied.

"But it was murder, right?" Sheldon asked. "Otherwise there wouldn't be any need to investigate her death."

"Accidental deaths have to be investigated from time to time as well, Sheldon; however, we are treating Dr. Cooper's death as a homicide," Nick replied. "In fact, last Friday another person who you might have known was killed in the same manner."

"Who was killed?" Sheldon asked before leading the way through a door and into an office that was big enough to hold one moderate size desk, a desk chair, two tall filing cabinets and two guest chairs.

A computer, a monitor, a mouse, a keyboard and three-tier in-and-out trays were on the desk. Papers and envelopes filled the in-and-out trays. A wireless printer sat on one of the filing cabinets.

"Professor Jeremy Knight," Nick replied. "Did you know him?"

"I never had the pleasure of meeting him; however, I did know about him and I did follow him on social media," Sheldon replied as he stopped walking next to his desk.

"Has he ever come into your club?" Erica asked.

"If he has, I'm not aware of it," Sheldon replied before gesturing towards the computer. "Anyway, the surveillance videos of last Saturday are on this computer."

"Your doorman said that Dr. Cooper had arrived around 7:00 P.M., but just in case, we would like copies of everything from 5:00 P.M. to when you had closed," Nick told Sheldon.

"Of course," Sheldon replied before pulling out the desk chair and sitting down.

"Sheldon, this might sound like an odd question, but would you know if any of your customers had recently suffered a trauma or sickness that would mentally impair him or her?" Nick questioned.

"No; not that I'm aware of," Sheldon replied before having a thought. "Except…"

"Except, what?" Nick questioned as Sheldon opened up the bottom desk drawer.

"Anthony—the current doorman—had stated on his Saturday incident report that there was a woman who was quite frustrated with herself over the equation that she was given at the door," Sheldon replied as he grabbed a blank rewritable DVD from the drawer.

"She couldn't solve it?" Erica asked as Sheldon shut the drawer.

"No; she solved it and was allowed to enter," Sheldon replied as he was putting the DVD into the computer. "However, Anthony reported that she was frustrated because she acted as if the equation that she was given should have been a simple math problem to her rather it being something that she had to work through to solve."

"Would you mind if I pulled Anthony from the door so he could point the woman out to me in the surveillance video?" Nick questioned.

"I'll get him here," Sheldon replied as he grabbed his smartphone from a holder at his belt. After dialing a number and waiting the brief moment for someone to pick up, he continued to say, "Devin, go tell Anthony to come to the office and watch the door while he's away. Okay. Bye." Sheldon went to put his phone away. "Anthony will be here momentarily."

Nick nodded with a slight grin.

After Sheldon started the process of copying the first video from last Saturday onto the DVD, Erica questioned, "Sheldon, simply out of curiosity, why did you name your club Cats in a Box?"

"Have you ever heard of Schrodinger's Cat, detective?" Sheldon asked.

"I have," Erica replied.

"Yes, well, my customers are the cats and this club is the box," Sheldon replied. "What happens at the end of the night with a room full of smart lonely people is anyone's guess, and I know I make my establishment sound like an experiment, but it's not. This club is a place where smart lonely people can come to and don't feel so alone."

"I get that," Erica replied. "And thinking that this club was established as an experiment was far from my mind."

"It may have been far from your mind, detective, but there have been people who jumped directly to that conclusion after I tell them why I had named my club what I did," Sheldon replied.

"Sheldon, besides Dr. Cooper's death and the woman who Anthony has reported on, has anything else occur last Saturday that might have been out of the norm?" Nick asked.

"Not that I'm aware of," Sheldon replied. "In fact, when I went to bed last Saturday night, I thought last Saturday was a normal and uneventful day. Wow, little did I know that someone had been killed on my property."

"You're not the first property owner who learned about a death on his or her property after the body had been discovered, and you won't be the last," Erica assured him.

"I actually find very little comfort in that thought," Sheldon replied as a short series of knocks struck the door. "Most likely that's Anthony. Come in!"

As Anthony was entering, he questioned, "You wanted to see me?"

"Yes," Sheldon replied. "I was telling the detectives about that one woman who you had reported on; about the one who seemed to have been frustrated with herself when she couldn't solved that equation as if it was a simple math problem and they would like for you to point her out in the surveillance video."

"Of course," Anthony replied as he moved closer to the desk. "I can do that."

"The file I'm copying is about done, so give me a minute or two and then you can point out that woman to them," Sheldon told Anthony.

"Of course," Anthony replied as he slowed his step.

"Meanwhile, tell us what you remember about the woman," Nick urged,

"Okay, well, she looked to have been in her late thirties," Anthony began. "She had long wavy-red hair. She was wearing two-inch heels, and with those shoes on, she looked to be about 5' 8". So I'm guessing without the heels, she would be about 5' 6"."

"Before last Saturday, had this woman ever been here before?" Nick asked.

Anthony shook his head before saying, "Saturday was the first and only time I had seen her."

"When a person answer the equation correctly, do you check his or her ID before allowing them to enter?" Erica asked.

"Only if the person looks to be younger than thirty will I ask for ID," Anthony replied. "And as I said, the woman looked to have been in her late thirties."

Erica nodded, but before she or Nick could ask another question, Sheldon announced, "Okay, the first file has been copied. Anthony, you can now point out the woman to the detectives."

"Okay," Anthony replied before he and Sheldon swapped places.

Anthony brought up one of the videos and played it. After fast-forwarding through the video that didn't show the woman for about four minutes, he quickly hit the pause button. Nick, Erica and Sheldon had been looking over his shoulder.

"Okay, here," Anthony announced. "Here's the woman."

The paused video showed the woman's side and back and didn't get a clear shot of her face.

"Run the video at a normal speed," Nick urged. "Let's see if she faces this camera at some point."

"Okay," Anthony replied.

Before Anthony could comply, Sheldon told him to wait. "What's the time stamp on that video?"

Anthony leaned in for a better look before saying, "6:57 P.M."

"Switch to the video from camera-five and see if it has a clear shot of the woman's face at 6:57 P.M.," Sheldon urged.

"Okay," Anthony replied before pulling up the video from camera-five.

Within a short time, Nick, Erica, Sheldon and Anthony were seeing the woman's front from slightly above her head to her waist."

"There," Sheldon uttered. "Copy and paste that image and then print it out."

"Will do," Anthony replied before doing so.

As the printout was printing, Sheldon told Anthony, "Okay. You can go back to the door now."

"Good luck, detectives, on finding who killed Beverly," Anthony told them as he was stranding.

"Oh, we will," Erica replied. "You can count on it."

Anthony nodded with a polite grin before walking out.

Sheldon sat back down and began copying the remaining files. It took several minutes for all of the files to be copied, and once Nick was handed the disc, he and Erica thanked Sheldon for his cooperation and left.

After returning to the police station, Nick, Erica and Wu used their detective skills and the face-recognition software to put a name to the red-headed woman's face.

By 4:35 P.M., the computer spit out a match on Wu's computer.

"Got something," Wu announced. Nick and Erica gathered around Wu's desk. "The woman's name is Rachel Galloway. She's forty-two and according to this, she lives in Chicago."

"If I remember correctly, Professor Knight is originally from Chicago," Erica added.

"Wu, put out a bolo on her and her vehicle, and in case she didn't drive here, send the bolo to the airport, bus station and train station," Nick ordered.

"You got it," Wu replied before moving to do so. "And before you say it, I'll run her credit cards as well and find out where she had made her last purchase."

At David and Megan's house, Olivia was playing cards with Ben, Megan and Connie at the kitchen table and contributing to the discussion of random topics that Megan and Connie would bring up. Before that Olivia had played Monopoly with Ben and Megan, and before that, she read several chapters in one of those meditation books.

Like the day before, Kristy and David returned home around 5:05 P.M., and after walking in, the two joined the others in the kitchen.

"So, Mom, how's interning at Grandfather's work going?" Olivia asked.

"I'm not interning," Kristy replied.

"Okay, well, you don't actually work there either," Olivia replied. "So what else would you call it?"

"Having temporary work-privileges to work there," Kristy replied. "Today was my last day there anyway. Starting tomorrow morning, I will be working at Treeview Hospital."

"Congratulations, Kristy," Megan and Connie told her.

"Congratulations, Mom," Olivia and Ben also said.

"Now all we need is a permanent place to live," Ben added.

Kristy smiled before questioning, "Ben, Olivia, how would you two like to go look at a house with me?"

"When?" Olivia quickly asked.

"I am supposed to meet the realtor at six," Kristy replied.

"Okay, sure, I'll go," Olivia replied.

"Yeah, I'll go too," Ben also said. "And I would like to go through Taco Bell's drive-thru on our way home."

"That's fine," Kristy replied. "There's actually a Taco Bell near the house that we are going to look at. Anyway, I'm going to change my clothes."

"We might as well end the game here," Connie said as Kristy was stepping away.

"That's fine," Megan replied.

Around 5:55 P.M., Kristy, Olivia and Ben were joining Sally Bell (the realtor) in front of a two-story easterly facing house.

Kristy introduced herself to Sally first and then introduced Olivia and Ben.

Once the introductions were over, Sally led the way into the house and gave them the tour of an empty house.

The stairs to the second floor was slightly passed a doorway on the north wall that entered into a room that Sally designated as a dining room.

Along the west wall of the designated dining room was an entryway that led into a short hallway. The door on the north side of the short hallway led to a half-bathroom, and another entryway was on the west side of the short hallway that led to the kitchen.

The kitchen was an average size kitchen that had the set-up for a gas stove and a specific spot for an average size refrigerator. The kitchen also had a small walk-in pantry, cabinets, countertops, a sink and enough space for a kitchen table and four kitchen chairs.

The doorway to the designated living room sat across from the doorway to the designated dining room.

The door to the basement was down the hallway and on the opposite side of the stairs. At the end of the hallway along the north wall was another doorway that led into the kitchen. At the end of the hallway along the west wall of the house was the door leading into the backyard. Near the end of the hallway along the south wall was a door leading into a room that Sally designated as a home office.

A master bedroom with a half-bath, two average size bedrooms and a full bathroom were on the second floor.

The asking price for the house was affordable for Kristy to buy; however, it was also considerably less than what the house was worth. Once the tour was over, Kristy inquired as to why the house was being sold under its true value.

"The couple who owns this house wouldn't tell me why that they were selling it so cheaply," Sally began. "However, this house has passed all of its inspections and is up to code. So there is nothing wrong with the house. Oh and the air conditioning and heating unit is less than three years old."

Kristy pursed her lips and considered things for a moment before saying, "Ben. Olivia. Welcome to your new home. I'm buying this house."

"Cool," Ben replied. "I actually like this house."

"Me too," Olivia replied.

"My office isn't far, so if you would follow me there, we can get started on the paperwork," Sally told Kristy.

Kristy nodded before she, Ben and Olivia followed Sally from the house.

Around 6:30 P.M., at Nick and Adalind's house, Nick, Adalind, Diana, Kelly and Monroe's six-year-old triplets (Felix, Freddy and Riley) were eating supper (Chinese take-out).

Monroe and Rosalee went out for date night and began their evening at a new restaurant that had recently opened its doors.

Around 7:30 P.M., Diana, Kelly, Felix, Freddy and Riley played Monopoly. Nick and Adalind just sat back and watched, and helped the kids when they needed it.

Monroe and Rosalee left the restaurant and went to Sailor's Moon; however, the doorman didn't know them, so they had to Woge for him before they were allowed in.

Sailor's Moon was moderately crowded when Monroe and Rosalee got there, and as the minutes slowly ticked away, more and more people (Wesen) showed up. Erica had showed up as well, and by 9:00 P.M., (when the Karaoke contest began) Sailor's Moon became standing room only.

Monroe, Rosalee and Erica each got up to sing, and although they did well, they knew that there were others who did better.

At Midnight, Edward ended the contest for the night, but assured everyone that the contest wasn't over, and that it will pick up again in twenty-one hours.

As the crowd within Sailor's Moon slowly dwindled between midnight and 1:00 A.M., Monroe, Rosalee and Erica socialized with the people they knew and drank their drinks.

Around 12:45 A.M., when Monroe, Rosalee and Erica found themselves alone at the same table, Erica shared what she learned from Helen about Faye and Witnesses.

By 1:00 A.M., (when the bar closed) Monroe, Rosalee and Erica left Sailor's Moon and went to their respective homes.

To be Continued.
