Murasakibara was jealous.

February 14. Valentine's Day, a day to celebrate those you cared for and many many many girls cared for his teammate.

Murasakibara knew that Kise was admired by a good portion of the school, while predominantly female there was a smaller, more discreet male Kise fan club. He could take his pick on any of them if he wished.

He didn't understand why.

Even he knew Kise was considered physically attractive. However the amount of trouble that came with the boy's looks easily negated that, as well as the fact that Murasakibara rarely cared about such. Time and time again Kise's celebrity status caused disruptions, and it was only becoming more frequent as the blonde's popularity grew.

That aside, his personality didn't win him favors with Murasakibara either. His exuberance and dramatics made the violet haired player feel tired just from being in his presence.

Still, looking at the pile of gifts a desire rose inside of him. It wasn't like Kise would know if he just-

Footsteps pounded down the hall.

A disheveled Kise turned the corner, his jacket was slightly torn and a frantic look appeared in his eyes. He looked behind him, checking both ways.

"Murasakibara-kun" he greeted and raked a hand down his hair attempting to look composed.

Trouble.

The center replied with a single nod before directing his attention back at the pole of gifts. Teddy bears and cards, even some jewelry, but what had really taken his attention was the abundance of editables.

Homemade chocolates, cupcakes, candies of all kinds, from lollipops to taffy to nubert.

Kise caught where his stringmate's attention was drawn.

"Oh that? Well it's probably just my fans. They're pretty dedicated and well I guess I should be appreciative because th-"

Murasakibara could distantly recognize that the boy was speaking but it seemed like his voice was miles away in his mind.

Brownies and homemade pudding and fudge cakes sprinkled with powdered sugar.

"-and I don't know how I'm supposed to carry all of this home not to mention I don't think I would be able to finish-"

Mochi donuts and coffee jelly and ichigo daifuko and was that a crêpe.

"Would you like some?"

Murasakibara's thought process stopped abruptly. He gave Kise his full attention for the first time since his introduction.

The model looked slightly taken back. He had noticed Murasakibara's concentration was still more focused on the gift pile than him. The sudden change had given him a sense of whiplash but he shook it off.

"Do you want any?" he repeated.

Teiko students may have described Kise Ryouta as an angel before, but Murasakibara could just barely see it now. Golden hair swaying in nonexistent wind, offering him access to a path of goodness.

Murasakibara may not have verbally answered, but he didn't have to. His face said it all.

He strode over to the pile, showing just how small a gap they truly had between them. Crouching down he grabbed a clear package which's wrapping displayed that there was a muffin inside.

The average middle schooler would have difficulty eating a muffin in one bite, their cheeks would puff out, and it would be avoiding a semblance to a squirrel wouldn't be possible . Needless to say, Murasakibara is not the average middle schooler as there was barely any evidence of the treat before it was sent on a one way ticket down his throat.

"But, we're going to need some bags to carry them home."

I won't.

It was true. If the over six foot schoolboy truly wished to devour the pile, he would be able to finish within the next hour. He grabbed another snack.

"Do you think the captain will mind if we bring the candy into the gym?" Kise suggested.

Ahh, Basketball practice.

That would hinder Murasakibara though. Even he couldn't consume all of the sweets before practice, not to mention that if he could he would get sick by immediately exercising straight after. The bags were their only option.

Murasakibara stood up and started walking.

Kise jogged after him in confusion. "Wait, where are you going?"

"The janitors will probably have some trash bags they can give away" answered the foodaholic.

"Ahhh. We have to be careful though. My fans have gone a bit crazy today, and we might get mobbed if we're spotted" he warned catching up.

Ki-chin is still trouble.

Murasakibara looked around warily holding the editable substance possessively. The hallways were empty since most others had already left for home or to go to their clubs. Still he had been mobbed once because of the model before, and wasn't eager to go through it again.

"It kinda feels like a secret mission " Kise chatted before more comfortable.

Still talking.

Murasakibara grunted in acknowledgment before taking a bite of the chocolate he had snatched from Kise's Valentine's Day stack. The human stomach had slowed down though and was looking around with even more caution.

"There" exclaimed Kise at a closet across the corridor picking up the pace only to be grabbed by the shoulder and held back by the purple Bigfoot.

"I hear something," he stated.

Kise looked at him, his mouth no longer running as he backed up.

At first it was a distant rumble, but it grew as the sound of dozens of footsteps grew. It striked apprehension in both of their hearts.

Kise rushed to the janitors closet to hide, his teammate right behind him.

It was open. They ushered inside and pulled out their phones for light.

The fandom was coming closer. He could now distinguish voices.

"Do you see him?" Asked a female voice.

"No" answered another.

"Did he go home," proposed a boy.

"The candy at his locker is still there" said the first girl, but there was doubt in her voice.

"We'll check the gym, if he's not there he's probably left" answered another unknown. The other agreed based on their sounds of agreement.

"Wait, Aika-kun" another voice called out.

"Go on without me. I'll catch up". The group scattered away. It was the first girl.

"Why did you refuse?" Asked the newcomer, emotion coming through his voice.

"I'm sorry. I'm grateful for your feelings but I just don't have them to reciprocate Hiro-kun" Aika spoke softly.

Hiro lowered his head and went silent.

"I understand, you like Kise right." He uttered.

Aika nodded silently and walked off.

Kise and Murasakibara made eye contact, neither were too comfortable with their current situation. Kise grabbed the trash bags and placed them in his pocket.

They waited a moment until they figured the heartbroken boy had left.

Opening and exiting the door quietly they heard a sniffle.

Hiro was still there. The Teiko students all looked like deers caught in headlights. (Well Murasakibara looked like a moose caught in headlights, not really put out, and kinda just looking down on like you were trouble.) It was a showdown. Two parts of an unintentional love triangle.

Kise broke the silence.

"Hiro-kun. Can you do me a big favor and just pretend we were never here-"

"I won't pretend." He stated.

"Why not," asked Kise, befuddled.

"Even if she can't accept mine. Aika-kun should be able to express her feelings too. All of them should." he declared, standing up.

Kisi Inhaled sharply, panic spreading throughout his body. He didn't want another unwilling game of hide and seek tag. It was starting to get out of hand. He didn't want to get ripped into teeny tiny Kise pieces.

Murasakibara watched the expression cross the blonde's face with dismay.

"No". Said Murasakibara.

This is way too much work.

Murasakibara towered over Hiro, his full height intimidating the love stick boy.

"N-No?" Hiro asked, suddenly no longer on his soapbox.

"No" Murasakibara repeated and walked away.

Kise trailed after him gobsmacked. He understood why Hiro had complied so easily. Murasakibara was scary when he wanted to be, but Kise was startled at the sudden change in behavior.

"Thanks Murasacchi" he said, his earlier enthusiasm coming through.

"I never knew you cared" he claimed overdramatically and attempted to cling onto the human skyscraper only to smack into a hand.

"No." He stated.

"YOU'RE SO MEAN" claimed Kise.

Still trouble.

Author note: if you can't tell. Italics mean it's his thoughts. I did try to bait this as Kimuro. I will not stop using the words editables despite the fact it makes it sound spiked by weed. I didnt even intend to do Kise I thought I'd be doing Midorima or Aomine. And yeesh this took forever. This is a platonic fanfic all the way though .also I imagine Kise when he was younger didn't let out the over-dramatics as much until he was comfortable with someone.
