Simba ran to the palace gardens where his mother and her closest friends liked to meet on Fridays. Nala sat on a bench with her mother, Sarafina who was beside Sarabi. Simba walked up to Nala. ''Hey Nala." Simba said. He secretly had a crush on Nala Walker, who was the same age as him and went to the same school. "Hi Simba." Nala replied. "Come on let's go. I just heard about this great place." Simba said quietly, trying not to draw his mother's attention. Sarabi heard perfectly fine and interceded.

"So where is this really cool place?" she asked. Crap. She almost got me. Simba thought. "Around the park." he replied quickly. The Mohatu Park was right next to the palace so it was the perfect lie. "The park? What's so great about the park?!" Nala exclaimed. "I'll show you when we get there." Simba whispered. Oh. Nala thought. She now knew what he meant.

"Mom, can I go with Simba?" Nala asked. "What do you think, Sarabi?" Sarafina asked after a moment's thought. "It's alright with me but don't go too far." Sarabi said. "We won't!" Simba called back as he and Nala walked away. Once they were away from the palace, Simba relaxed a little. "So where are we really going?" Nala asked. "It's called Shadow Town." Simba said. "Woah..." Nala whispered. This place was already beginning to sound cool. "We could get into big trouble, Simba." Nala pointed out.

"Don't worry. I know what I'm doing." Simba reassured her. He called for a taxi. "Where to, your highness?" the driver asked. The driver didn't think it was a good idea for the 8 year old prince to go by himself but he didn't want to interfere with royalty. For all he knew the prince could have been meeting his father somewhere. "Plaza shopping center." Simba said and handed the man some cash from his pocket. Plaza shopping center was close to Shadow Town so all they had to do was walk to there and plus the driver wouldn't suspect a thing.

Once the taxi arrived Simba and Nala immediately hopped out. The taxi left and they started walking. It took them a few minutes but they finally came to a rough looking town. Simba was sure this was the place Scar had told him about. He and Nala looked around. There was graffiti everywhere, broken beer bottles, cigarette butts scattered around, and boarded up buildings.

"This is it. It has to be." Simba said confidently. "Not much to look at. No wonder they call it Shadow Town." Nala said. "Woah look at this!" Simba exclaimed and pointed to a run-down looking shop that had a sign that said Pawnshop. "I wonder if it still has anything in it." Nala thought aloud. "Come on, lrt's go check it out." Simba said and walked towards the building.

Suddenly a man jumped in front of them. "The only checking out you will do is to check out of here!" the man yelled. It was Zazu. "Aw man. Zazu, what are you doing here?" Simba asked. "Your mother asked me to keep an eye on you so I followed you. And it's a good thing I did! You both are in very real danger!" Zazu shouted and looked around nervously.

"Danger? I laugh in the face of danger!" Simba said and did an evil laugh like he'd seen on some cartoons. Then three rough looking thugs emerged from the pawnshop. One was a woman and the other two were men. Each held some sort of weapon in hand. Simba and Nala jumped behind Zazu. "Well well well, Banzai. What have we got here?" the woman asked one of the men who was apparently named Banzai. "I dunno Shenzi. But they're not supposed to be here." Banzai said.

"Well we got a little a lost. A simple mistake. We'll be leaving now." Zazu said and tried to get himself and the kids away from them. "Wait, I know you. You're Mufasa's little boy." Shenzi said to Simba. Simba nodded. Shenzi grinned. "Your father kicked our butts earlier and we got a score to settle." she said as she and the thugs walked towards Simba.

Suddenly Zazu gave Shenzi a hard punch in the face and knocked her backwards. "Run!" Zazu shouted at Simba and Nala. Banzai swung a baseball bat at Zazu but he ducked. He hit Banzai hard in the stomach. He fought with the thugs for a while but was soon overpowered since he was getting older and he was smaller than them.

Shenzi raised her fist but stopped when Simba shouted, "Hey over here!" The thugs left Zazu and ran after Simba. After all they were being paid to kill Simba, not Zazu. Zazu pulled his phone out and called Mufasa. He told him the situation.

Simba and Nala ran down an alley and started climbing a fence. Simba was over but Banzai grabbed Nala's leg. "Simba!" Nala screamed. Simba gasped and hit Banzai across the face. Banzai fell back and Nala sucessfully got over the fence. They ran down another alley but came to a dead end.

The thugs cornered them and laughed. Simba swung his fist at them but they dodged it. "Ha! Do it again! I dare ya!" Shenzi yelled while laughing. Simba closed his eyes and swung again but this time Banzai fell over. "Huh?" Shenzi said in surprise. She looked over and saw Mufasa lunging at them, gun in hand.

Within seconds the thugs were down on the ground and Mufasa held a gun to their face. "If you ever come near my son again I'll kill you!" Mufasa roared at them. "Oh this was your son?" Shenzi asked innocently. "Oh we didn't know that! Did you Ed?" Banzai asked the third thug. Ed just nodded stupidly. Mufasa fired a shot in the air. The thugs ran down the alley away from him.

Mufasa glared at Simba. "You deliberately disobeyed me!" Mufasa shouted. "Dad I-" Mufasa cut him off. "Let's go home." he said and pointed at his Ford f-150. Mufasa, Simba and Nala got the truck and drove to the palace. Zazu got in his white Merchedes and followed.

Scar looked on from the shadows and felt a surge of rage sweep over him. How did the morons screw this up?
