I wrote this chapter a couple years ago. I'm thinking about going back and editing the first two chapters. Let me know what your think.

Chapter 3

-3 Years Ago-

From the forest Sonic ran home to tell Tails about Amy. He ran straight to Tails' work shop and found him covered in oil working on one of his jets.

"TAILS!"

A loud metallic bang rang throughout the room. Tails turned to look at his adoptive brother as he rubbed the new bump on his head. "Sonic how many times do I have to tell you…"

"No time. We need to save Amy." Sonic told the little orange fox quickly.

"Amy?! Sonic slow down and tell me what happened." Tails moved away from his jet, to his computer. He sat down in his big wheeled computer chair, facing the now pacing Sonic.

Sonic made an annoyed sigh and began his story. "I was getting a chili dog when…"

-After Sonic Explains-

"YOU SAID WHAT?!" Sonic flinched at the yelling. "How could you even say that? Amy is our friend! To say those things about her is just horrible Sonic!" Tails couldn't believe Sonic said all that about Amy, much less her hearing it. It was just so wrong.

"I know, I messed up but that doesn't matter now. Shadow has Amy!" Sonic didn't understand why Tails was getting hung up on what he said, Amy was in danger.

"Sonic calm down. Shadow is our friend and Amy's. He would never hurt her. He probably just took her home." Tails crossed his arms and gave Sonic a hard stern look. "To be honest you're lucky he didn't kick your ass then and there. Hell I'm thinking about doing it."

"What?!" Sonic was shocked. 'How did I become the bad guy? Shadow's the one who took Amy!'

"Sonic what you said to Amy was horrible! You wished she was dead!"

"I never said that!" Sonic was shocked Tails could even say that.

Tails sighed and pinch the space between his eyes in hopes to keep the head ache Sonic's stupidity was causing at bay. "Sonic you said you wish you never saved Amy the first time, right?." His tone was one used to explain things to children.

"Ya. So?"

"If you hadn't saved her the first time, what would have happened to her?" Tails asked slowly hoping Sonic would put two and two together.

"She would …SHIT!" Sonic smacked his forehead. "I really screwed up this time."

"I'd say." Tails shook his head at Sonic in disappointment.

"But Shadow…"

"Shadow nothing." The little Fox could not understand why he could not let the Shadow thing go. "Shadow is not going to hurt her." His tone was hard, leaving no room for Sonic to argue.

Sonic looked at the ground below his feed. He could still feel an angry heat coursing in his veins, at the memory of Shadow taking Amy, but now there was a guilty lump in his stomach as he thought about his words towards Amy. "She'll forgive me right? She always has before." 'Ames always forgives me. No matter how much I mess up.' "She'll ignore me for a few days, then it will be like it never happened. Everything will be fine."

Tails shook he head again and turned to his computer. He could no longer look at the blue hedgehog. HE could not believe he was trying to brush off what he had done. 'I have a feeling it's not going to be that easy this time.'

"I'll apologize tomorrow." Sonic smiled to himself. "Night Tails." With that Sonic raced off to bed.

Tails just shook his head again. "Hope you're ok Amy… Maybe I should call the others and give them a heads up." Tails muttered to himself as he pulled up everyone's numbers.

-Next Morning-

Tails had called everyone the night before and told them what happened. Everyone was concerned and more than ready to kick Sonic's ass if Amy wasn't ok.

When Tails had called Shadow, the black hedgehog didn't say much except he took her home before leaving for a mission and that Sonic better be ready the next time he saw him.

Rogue didn't tell Tails anything about the night before. She simply listened and said she would be there in the morning like everyone else. Amy didn't want anyone to know where she was going and who she was going with. Rogue offered to stay behind a day to make sure they got the notes Amy left. Also Rogue wanted to see what Sonic was going to say about all this. Sonic wasn't one to admit he did something wrong when it comes to how he treats Amy. So it will be interesting to see what he has to say for himself when they confront him. One wrong word and he will be in a world of hurt. The only question is who gets the first shot at him.

By 11:00 everyone but Cream and Shadow were in Tails' and Sonic's living room waiting for the blue hero to wake up. They all wanted gave Sonic a piece of their minds before they went to check on Amy.

"Morning everyone." Sonic yawned.

He got an array of responses. Two glares. Rouge flicked him off. And a few grumbles of morning. No one was very happy with him right now. Sonic has said a lot of stupid thing in the past, but this took the cake. He crossed a line he might not be able to uncross.

The blue hedgehog felt a little uncomfortable since no one but Tails was really talking to him. A couple of them looked ready to attack him, especially Rouge

"Anyone know when Cream is going to get here?" Tails asked cutting the tense silence.

Then as though she know Tails had asked about her, the young bunny girl opened the door. They were all shock when the normally shy, sweet, and overly well-mannered girl stormed up to Sonic with a look of rage on her face and tears in her eyes. Her fist pounded on his chest the minute he was within reach of her.

"How could you? How could you? This is your fault! You made her leave!" Cream screamed as tears flowed down her cheeks. No one had any idea what to do, they've never seen her like this.

"Cream calm down. What are you talking about?" Tail took the now sobbing girls fists and pulled her to his chest. Suddenly Cheese appeared and started chirping angrily in Sonic's face. Blaze ended up having to hold the small choa back.

"Would someone please tell me what is going on?" Sonic asked as he rubbed his abused chest.

Cream wiped away her tear, even though that didn't help since new ones soon took their place. "I went to check on Amy… I found these in her kitchen on the table." Cream took a stack of envelopes from her bag. She handed one to everyone, even Rouge.

Rouge read the letter even though she already knew what it said. She had stayed up last night and watched Amy write them.

Amy told all her friends how she needed to find who she was. That she would be back one day. How she would miss them but they shouldn't try looking for her or worry. She needed this. She told Cream how she was a sister to her. Told Tails to keep working on his planes. That she'll want to hear all about them when she gets back. Said Knuckles needed to loosen up but was a wonderful loyal friend. Asked Blaze to give Sliver a chance and to play nice. Also asked her to look after the boys for her. Told Sliver how she was glad he was her friend and wished him luck with Blaze. She told them all she loved them. Thanked them of everything and how she would miss them. But promised to be back.

Rogue had watched Amy struggle to find what to say to the blue. There was so much pain in Amy's heart but she doesn't blame him for all of it. It was her that ignored how upset she made him. She apologized for bothering him all the time. Told him he was her hero and she really hoped they could be friends when she got back. Told him to stay safe and good luck with the Sally. Then ended her letter like all the others, Good bye for now. Your friend, Amy Rose. The white bat was proud of Amy for putting her feelings in to words, for saying goodbye to the people she loved most.

At first only noise was Cream sniffling as she held back more tears, but in no time at all she wasn't the only one in tears. Sliver held Blaze in hopes of comforting her. Knuckles looked ready to attack Sonic went Rogue stopped him.

"What are you doing bat?" He snarled at her as she stood in front of him.

"Calm down Big Guy. You're not the only one who wants a piece of him." She sent a cold glare at Sonic who was still reading his letter from Amy. Her teal eyes turned back to meet enraged purple ones. "But we both know Amy wouldn't be happy if we killed him. No matter how tempting it is." 'And it is REALLY tempting right now.'

Knuckles thought about the jewel thief's word and knew she was right. "Fine." He growled as he crossed his arms. Rogue gave him a small understanding smile and a pat on the shoulder that he just huffed at.

"I… This has to be some mistake...joke… or something…" Sonic read the letter over and over again. He could read the words but none of it made sense to him. 'What does she mean finding herself? She can't just leave. This has to be a joke.' There was a pulsing pain in his chest, which had nothing to do with Cream's earlier assault. Sonic slowly shock his head as he look up from the letter. "She wouldn't leave."

"She's left her phone... She's gone." Cream mumbled between sobs into Tails chest.

"No! This is Amy we are talking about… She's just mad at me…" Sonic's eyes widened with realization. "That's it! She's doing that whole ignoring me thing again. Just… bigger."

Tails gave his brother a pitied look while everyone look at him in shock. 'He's in denial.'

"Come one guys. Amy wouldn't leave me… I mean us, like that. I bet in a day or two she'll be back and it will be like nothing happened." Sonic smiled and felt proud of himself for figuring out Amy's plan.

A snarl appeared on Rouge's face as she looked at the delusional hero. "Are you stupid!? Amy wouldn't put US through this, to get back at YOU!"

Sonic rolled his eyes. "I'm telling you. In a couple days Amy will be chasing me all over Mobius again." Disgust filled Rouge as Sonic's ego filled the room.

SLAP! Everyone turned to Cream. She stood in front Sonic, her hand in the air, her tear filled eyes that burned with rage. "You… you…" Her whole body shook. She couldn't even get a full sentence out.

"Come one Cream. Sliver and I will walk you and Cheese home." Blaze pulled Cream away from the Blue Hedgehog, that stood there wide eye and mouth hanging open. When they got to the door Blaze looked at Sonic one more time. "Sonic you need to get over yourself." Then she and Cream walked out. Sliver follow close behind. Not even glancing at Sonic.

"I'm leaving too. Not enough room in here with Sonic's ego. See ya Tails." Knuckle shot Sonic one last glare before he left.

Rouge made her way to the door. "Thanks for having us Tails." She gave the small fox a sweet smile. "And Sonic…" She had one last thing to say to the so called hero. "Go screw yourself." Then she was gone.

"What just happened?" Sonic finally asked after the shock wore off. He turned to Tails as if he had the answer like he normally did.

Tails just sadly shook his head. "You screwed up Sonic."
