Hello again.

Yes, I am posting once more. I was overwhelmed with motivation after the recent Godzilla vs. Kong, and I thought about going back to this story. I thought it'd be trash not worth revisiting but...no! I think it's alright lol. There's still a story to be told here.

There may be a little retconning in the future, especially concerning the whole backstory with Mechagodzilla. I'm not entirely sure yet, but we'll see.

No, I do not know when the next chapter will be out.

Chapter 4

Shizuoka

Caesar and Jet charged at Gigan. The bladed kaiju grinned as he crossed his blades, not making a move. They split in opposite directions and charged for his flanks. At the very last moment, Gigan raised his blades and parried their attacks. With incredible speed, he spun around Jaguar's back. The robot barely managed to duck to avoid his swipe. He rolled to evade the next blade crashing down. Jaguar stood and faced the cyborg.

"This one is fast!" he thought.

Caesar launched an assault of punches and kicks against Gigan. Usually, the most martially skilled of the kaiju, Caesar found all of his attacks easily dodged and blocked. He then went for a grab and managed to pin his arms beneath the creature's shoulders. That turned out to be a big mistake. The blades on Gigan's chest spun like a chainsaw, cutting into Caesar's scales with ease. The kaiju roared in pain, stepping backwards with a now bleeding torso. Filled with bloodlust, Gigan aimed his next swipe at Caesar's neck, going for a killing blow.

Jet jumped in the way. He blocked the cyborg's blade upwards while smashing an elbow into its chin. He then kicked the creature away. And spun and landed on its feet gracefully, smiling with glee. Jaguar looked at his friend with concern. Caesar was one his knees, holding a badly wounded chest.

"Caesar! Are you alright?" Jaguar spoke.

"It's...just a scratch," Caesar looked at Jaguar, "your arm."

Jaguar looked and only now realized his arm was cut from parrying Gigan's blade. The Cyborg laughed.

"What did you think would happen?" he sharpened his blades together, "The more you fight me, the more damage you'll take. This is a battle of attrition you cannot possibly hope to win...assuming I don't cut you down before that happens."

Caesar looked to Mothra. She was evading a powerful beam attack by Megalon. Clearly, she was handling herself all right. But she couldn't possibly come to their aide. He tried to stand, before collapsing back to his knees.

"No, don't move," Jaguar placed a hand on his shoulder, keeping eyes on Gigan, "stay down. I shall handle the invader!"

"You can't...possibly hope to win," Caesar panted heavily, "That thing is too fast."

"Fear not, I am contacting the GDF forces as we speak. Reinforcements are on the way."

Jaguar stood and smashed a fist into his hand. Gigan chuckled.

"It doesn't have to be this way," Gigan grinned, "you can join me. I'm looking for fresh recruits."

"My apology, but I was made only to defend earth and humanity," he took a fighting pose, "so I must reject your offer!"

"Made, huh?" Gigan raised his blades, "Yes, you do not appear organic. Perhaps we have a little in common then."

Jaguar charged.

Godzilla growled to himself. He and Titano had fallen asleep on the beach. His eyes as he sensed a strange disturbance. Something was very wrong.

He sat up, nudging Titano off him. She twisted and turned until she opened her eyes.

"What's the matter?" she asked, noticing the distressed look in his face.

"I don't know," Godzilla stood up, "but something is going on."

Titano stood as well and looked at him. Godzilla possessed the power of the Alpha, giving him some control and authority over other kaiju. Because he never left Monster Island that often, he rarely used it, and hadn't gone out of his way to develop it very much. But it allowed him some connection to other kaiju, almost like a telekinetic link.

"Caesar is hurt," he growled, "And Mothra is struggling."

"You did say they were in a battle with Megalon," Titano noted, "Maybe they are just having more trouble than normal."

Godzilla heard about Megalon's growing power. But even with it, there was no reason for them to struggle this much.

Was there?

Godzilla snarled and started heading back inland.

"Where are you going?" Titano asked.

"I hate to cut this short," he looked back at her, "But I think we might be in trouble."

"Trouble how?"

"I don't know, but I'd rather not be unprepared. Head back into the water and stay near the coastlines."

Titano blinked once. Godzilla thought she was about to protest, but she replied,

"Alright, if that's what you think."

"Thank you. I'll let you know when the coast is clear.

Godzilla started walking back inland until Titano called out,

"Hey Goji?"

He paused and looked back again. She cracked a half smile.

"Be safe, alright?"

He grinned and nodded.

Godzilla walked through the trees until he made it to the main clearing. It was located at the center of the island, and acted almost like a large fighting arena for the monsters to wrestle around in. He sucked and let out a large, five second roar. It was a gathering call.

No more than a minute later, Anguirus, Rodan, and Baragon all showed up. Baragon was roughly the size of her mate. She lacked a shell, but had larger ears, and a larger horn. She grinned when she saw Godzilla.

"Hello, Mr. Alpha!"

"Baragon, it's been a while," Godzilla struck a small smirk.

"What's up G?" Anguirus asked, "Is there a problem?'

"This better be important," Rodan scowled, "I was busy scavenging."

"I'm not sure how important it is," Godzilla admitted, "Could just be me being paranoid. But I can sense Caesar and Mothra are in trouble."

"How much trouble?" Anguirus asked.

"Caesar can't move and Mothra is fighting Megalon alone."

Baragon gasped.

"Oh no!" she exclaimed, "Are they gonna be alright?"

"I'm sure they will handle themselves fine, but we should prepare ourselves."

"Prepare for what?" Rodan asked.

Godzilla frowned and looked out over the horizon.

"I can't say for sure...but I think this island is in trouble."

When Lowsky and the other pilots arrived at the scene, it was chaos. The GDF informed them what was going one, saying they received a distress call from Jaguar. They knew it was bad but did not realize just how bad. The city was in utter, burning ruin. Mothra was fighting Megalon alone and appeared very tired. Caesar was down on the ground with a massive gash. Jaguar fought what they assumed was the UFK. His body looked sliced in many areas.

"What the hell is that thing!?" one of the pilots shouted.

"I have no clue," Lowsky spoke in a reserved tone, "Bravo Team, split up! 1-6 will assist Jet Jaguar! 7-12, backup Mothra!"

The team hailed, and the crafts split up. Lowsky's team went after the UFK. It certainly looked like some kind of machine. But Jaguar had confirmed it was a space kaiju.

The ships dove in and blasted away at the cyborg's back. A barrage of anti-armor missiles smashed into it. Half of them hit, the other half were evaded. The creature seemed totally unaffected. It's gaze turned to their ships.

"No damage!" Brave 4 shouted.

"That thing's got a tough hide!" Bravo 3 added.

The UFK's eyes lit up, along with it's metal horn. At the last moment, Jaguar grabbed him from behind and pulled his eyes upwards. A red laser shot up.

"Holy crap!" Brave 5 cried out.

"All units, be advised!" Lowsky spoke up, "The UFK possesses laser weaponry!"

"Yeah we saw it too," Bravo 7 answered, "And it looks like Jaguar is struggling."

...

Gigan snarled as Jaguar kept his beam firing upwards. He smashed the back of his head against the metal man, and his beam dissipated. He turned towards Megalon. The creature was shrieking as the fighters barraged him with missiles.

Jaguar struggled to stand. Gigan stomped him back on his stomach.

"You stay down," he hissed, "I have other business to attend to."

Gigan flew away to Megalon. Jaguar reached out to him.

"Wait...come back!"

He collapsed on his stomach. It was no use. His energy cells were nearly drained.

"Jaguar, what's your status?" Lowsky called through his internal radio.

"Captain, I must offer a sincere apology. I could not get a good enough read on the creature's attacks. I was far too reckless. Engagement is no longer an option. I must recharge."

"How's Caesar?"

"Injured, but I believe he'll survive."

"Good. Leave the rest to us. Moguera is on the way."

The signal cut off. Jaguar's systems went into sleep mode.

...

Mothra watched as the human ships pelted Megalon with rockets. She was trying to regain some strength. The creature swung his drills, firing his beam wildly. Still though, the rockets did no damage to him.

Suddenly, everything around Megalon started to pull into himself. His body crackled with electricity. Mothra gasped as she saw Caesar's and Jaguar's unconscious bodies rolling towards him. She flew with all her might away from the blast. She sprayed silk at their bodies, sticking them to the ground. The fighters engaged evasive maneuvers.

Megalon unleashed his blast, spraying debris and electricity everywhere. Half of the fighters were caught in the blast, forcing their pilots to eject. Mothra got caught at the very end of the shockwave, launching her with a cry. A piece of debris caught her head, knocking her out cold.

...

Gigan buried his feet in the ground and shielded with his blades. He snarled, and then grinned as Megalon finished, breathing heavily. Gigan cackled and flew up to Megalon.

"Seems you didn't need my help after all. Well done."

Gigan looked out at the surrounding destruction. All the defenders were down, including the winged one. Only six ships remained. They showed no interest in engaging again.

"How disappointing," Gigan crossed his blades, "Here I was hoping for a challenge, but only one of you impressed me. I surely hope this one isn't the only warrior worthy of my attention."

Megalon clashed his drills together.

"Wait! Megalon knows other kaiju!" he cried, "Megalon can lead Gigan to other warriors!"

Gigan turned to him.

"Other warriors?"

"Monster Island!" he shouted, "Monster Island holds warriors! Monster Island holds Kaiju Alpha!"

"Alpha?" Gigan placed a blade beneath his chin, "You mean, one above the rest?"

"Megalon stronger now, but yes!" he hopped, "Godzilla! Godzilla is Kaiju Alpha!"

Gigan recalled what his master told him. Of the "awakening presence" on the planet worthy of attention. It could be this Megalon, but there was another presence on the planet. One teeming with energy. Gigan wondered…

"Is it that way?" he pointed his blade in the direction of the reading.

"Oh yes! Monster Island that way!"

"I see, well then that must be it. Very well, then. I've got nothing better to do, so let's-

His energy reading spiked in the opposite direction. He turned and saw another being flying towards them. It's body was made of metal. It was far thicker than the metal man. It had a cone for a nose, and two yellow eyes. It's arms looked like drills, similar to Megalon himself. The machine flew to a stop and descended near Jaguar. Gigan growled.

"What is it now?"

"Human kaiju!" Megalon pointed, "Moguera!"

The machine pointed it's arms. They opened up, revealing lighting rods. Gigan huffed.

"Forget it, I'm done fighting weaklings," he turned around, "Let's pay this Alpha a visit."

"Yes!" Megalon cheered.

The two of them flew off the moment Moguera unleashed two large streaks of lightning. They missed and crashed into some debris.

Lowsky examined the battlefield in shock. He couldn't believe it. Both Guardians and a GDF Kaiju were defeated. They also lost half their squad (though fortunately the pilots survived). Megalon's energy explosion had tripled in size and strength.

Before, Megalon was little more than a routine nuisance. The military often had little trouble containing him before a guardian or GDF kaiju would show up and give him a nice spanking, sending him back underground. Now he had gone up two, maybe three threat levels. He was at least as powerful as Mechagodzilla. Maybe even stronger.

As for this new space Kaiju. Not only did it possess a powerful laser beam, but it's hand-to-hand skill was remarkable. Jaguar and Caesar, their best martial fighters by far, were single handedly taken out by him. His blades cut through Jaguar's armor like tinfoil. Their missiles were useless against his hide, about as effective as firecrackers. Without a shadow of a doubt, this was the most dangerous Kaiju they'd ever faced.

Captain Jaeger, the head pilot of Moguera, contacted him through the radio.

"Bravo 1, do you copy?"

Lowsky answered,

"This is...Bravo 1. Captain Lowsky, reporting." his voice was heavy, "Requesting aide."

"I can see that." Jaeger hummed, "What on earth happened?"

"Megalon's threat level has risen much, much higher than anticipated. And this...UFK may be the strongest Kaiju we've ever faced. I'm not gonna lie, captain. We're lucky they ran off."

"Should I pursue?"

Lowsky thought for a moment, then answered,

"Yes, but only track down where they are heading. Proceed with caution. Do not engage unless absolutely necessary. I'll inform the GDF on what's going on. We'll probably have to send in Mark II. I'll leave my squad here and head back to the GDF HQ.

"Mark II is not yet ready, captain. I believe your efforts would be better spent-

"I'm not saying I want to use it. But we may not have an option."

There was a long delay, until Captain Jaeger answered,

"I understand, sir. Moguera out."

The transmission ended. Moguera's rockets fired and lifted him up. He followed in the direction of the hostile kaiju. Lowsky sighed as he looked down on the ruined landscape.

"Good lord, what an absolute mess."
