AN: This will be Anagi's POV and right after will be the trip to Inazuma. Hope you all enjoy this little universe i'm making and keep on reading it means the world to me. Trigger Warning/ Violence
Anagi walked with his mother back to their home under the library. This secluded place was perfect for them as they were both people who valued their private time. As they walked into their front lounge Lisa tapped his shoulder gesturing to the couch. As they sat down Anagi already knew what this would be about. "So I'm assuming you heard about Inazuma huh" he said as Lisa nodded pouring her and him a drink. Lisa was a responsible person but she was definitely a relaxed mom when she decided to be. "I'm just going to help the traveler plus it's been forever since me and the gang have been able to hang out." he said, taking a sip of the sweet drink known as dandelion wine. "I see so no revenge trips correct and you plan to avoid Baal at all cost?" Lisa questioned him over her glass. "Yes I promise I will not go near her. And if she comes to me we will run" he layed back on the couch looking his mom in the eyes. He knew she wouldn't believe him if he didnt. "Hm ok but don't stay long you know I worry when you visit that wasteland" She said disdain coming over her words. "Mother relax yes it's definitely not the greatest place but there are some good points to it. Plus you like Ayaka and Tohma don't you" He said smiling as she sighed. "That's not fair and you know it. You and Ayaka are like twins and Tohma well I understand he is a part of the package." She finished her drink and put it on the table. " So relax mom, I'm gonna send Ayaka a letter and head over there in 3 days. Until then I will do whatever you like."
She stood and took off her hat placing it on the table as well. "And i'm assuming Fischl doesn't know about this. " she said as Anagi sighed and looked at the wall opposite of his mother. "Well she knows i'm going just not why or the stakes involved and I think it should stay that way." He pointed out. Lisa sighed, rubbing her temple as her anxiety was catching up to her. "Sweetie please be conscious of the circumstances and make sure you come back safely." she said as Anagi nodded. "I know mom now gets some rest ok Jean will be expecting you to be awake and alert" He said giving her a hug and going to bed. "I guess I have to take this in my own hands." she said walking into her room and resting for the night.
The next morning Anagi got ready to set out after giving his sleepy mom a kiss on the cheek and left out through the library seeing his "eternal partner" waiting for him at a desk. "Well hello Fischl I see you are up and early" he said as she stood and smiled "The prinzessin has a request for her greatest consort that will take us to lands beyond what we have trekked before." He understood this meant she wanted to visit outside of Mondstat but what concerned him was where. "We will go and investigate a strange phenomenon that causes the bones of travelers to freeze over and threatens to cast the world in a torrent of snow." He sighed knowing now she meant dragonspine which was not one of his favorite places to be. "OK fine but where are your clothes we can't travel there in that." He said pointing to her normal wear which left many parts of her body exposed. "Well that is where you come in of course." she said as Lisa walked out of their underground home with Anagis warm clothes in hand as well as a backpack. "Here you go sweetie" she said, handing him thick pairs of clothes as well as his snow boots. Apparently he was the last to know about this trip "Thanks now I guess I have to go pick out Fischl something see ya." he said running off as Lisa walked out to meet Jean for their daily breakfast date.
Fischl took him to her home where they went up to her room. Her parents waved to him as he greeted them both. "Ok Amy lets see what you bought." He said already trying to imagine the things she bought. They had talked about visiting Dragonspine before so he was sure she went shopping but as she opened the closet he was reminded about Fischl's motto of Aesthetic over practicality. What welcomed him was outfits that were just as wild and purple as her normal one while also being as thin. "Amy just because they cover more of you doesn't mean they're warm" he said as Fischl blushed. "Well I wanted to look good so as to give ourselves more of a presence" she said normally. One thing he found interesting was how she preferred to be Amy around him then Fischl despite the fact that he was fine with both. "Well we can make a statement and be warm" He said, opening his bag and handing her a large purple and black coat and thick but tight pants that came with snow boots. She looked at them before nodding her head showing she approved of the outfit. He sighed glad he had his mom buy this for her especially considering that it took a pretty mora out of his wallet. "Well you go change and I'll meet you by the gate. I have something to send off." he said as she smiled and waved. He left the room and talked to Fischl's parents a bit. "I see well i'm sure you will make sure Amy is safe" he nodded as he left out to Dilucs tavern.
The midnight superhero was about to open his business before Anagi handed him a letter. "Are you sure that you want to go as well. Your presence will bring more danger there." he said causing Nagi to roll his eyes."Yes mother I am plus I can handle whatever they decide to throw at me."He said as Dilucs eagle came down to its masters arm as Diluc attached the letter to the bird. "Well I can't lecture you but please understand that if something happens to you i'll have to deal with Lisa" he said as the bird flies off to Inazuma. "I'll be fine also, I need to use your tavern" Diluc gestured to him as he walked in and started changing. After he finished Diluc walked in checking his inventory as Anagi left some mora on the counter. He left to the gate seeing Fischl dressed up in her winter clothes. Looking very Purple and very fluffy "Well come on time waits for no one to even the Prinzessin " he said as she silently followed him to dragonspine.
As they got closer the air got colder and Fischl stuck closer to Anagi. "So where do we investigate first." " Well The darkness of the once perilous shadow called durin still lingers in the cold of the night. The heart of the beast is where we must stake our eyes" said the lightning bird that popped out from Fischl's back. "Well good morning Oz and that makes sense so I'm assuming the sky nail?" he said, petting Oz as they entered Dragonspine. They made their way toward the cavern that laid below The nail like fixture in the sky. "You know there is a theory that dragonspine was cold before Durin got here. Says that the nail is what caused it" Anagi sayed as they walked along the icy trail. "Please do not speak about those celestia theories. I mean they gave us visions and watched over us. The Sky frost nail was used to punish the worshipers of Durin and they were taken down by the bitter cold fueled by the hatred of their makeshift god." she said, her voice retaining the Fischl like tone. "Ok you definitely just made that theory up because of that book we read about the ants, plus it isn't just a random theory i'm telling you there is something off" he said as Fischl stuck her nose up. "Well maybe the book had some influence but how can you explain visions then." she said as Anagi looked at the purple rock that laid on his hip. "What if people could use vision power without the vision? I mean the traveller can do it so I don't see why not." he said as FIschl thought it over. "Well is it possible that the traveller isn't human like us I mean look at all the crazy stuff they've done." She said shooting a charging hillichurl in the chest as Oz flew above them watching for anymore enemies. "True but I mean look at the samachurls they seem to use them just fine." he said as Fischl sighed." true but we don't even know what they are plus what would they gain from giving us these if they could just teach us" She said as Anagi looked at the floating city.
"Yes what would they gain is a good question" Albedo said walking from behind a cave smiling. The alchemist waved them over as he put away his sketchbook. "Very intriguing conversation, what is a vision exactly" he said as Fischl blushed, not intending for anyone hearing her Amy voice to be heard by someone beside her family and Nagi. "That's a great question but Albedo a better question is what are you still doing here" Anagi questioned, concerned about the alchemist's almost obsessive behavior over dragonspine. "Well I'm simply interested in the strange phenomenon that takes place here. Also the scenery is very unique" he said as Fischl nodded. "Indeed the snow covered domain of the dark dragon durin holds many mysteries that mere sunlight can not even uncover" she said putting a hand over her eye. Albedo nodded before looking over his shoulder. "Back to the topic at hand you bring up an interesting question. It does make sense that you would doubt it though considering Lisa is quite the historian." he walked to his campsite as Anagi and Fischl followed. "I mean what are the elements and how does a vision control them and how does that connect to their host." He said as Anagi pulled a chair for Fischl to sit down in. "Hm well what if it acts as conduit for humans innate elemental control" Nagi said as Albedo thought to himself. "Interesting so visions could act as a type of amplifier" he said. "Yes exactly and if it could be an amplifier". ".It could be a nullifier as well" Albedo said smiling.
Fischl rolled her eyes. "Then why doth the servants of the Immernachtreich show such ignorance of the ways of this wicked plane" " that's true, only if we know humans who can naturally use the elements." Albedo responded with a smug look on his face. "Well maybe I do but she isn't exactly easy to get in touch with." he said as Fischl looked at him shocked. "Do you really believe that a mortal has obtained the ways of nature?". Anagi nodded "Yeah she may know more than me about it considering what happened a while back". Fischl blinked as Anagi looked at her indicating that it would be talked about later. "Well whenever you're ready I will be happy to test it" he said as he handed Fischl a necklace. "As for you Fischl can you do me a favor," he said, pulling out a necklace with an amber of a root inside of it. " travel today with this necklace, it will pick up elemental energy from your surroundings please drop it off to sucrose once you're done." He said going back to his papers. Anagi stood and left, taking Fischl with him knowing that asking any more questions would be futile and knowing Fischl had many. As they left Anangi saw a tribe of hillichurl running toward a cave below them. Fischl sent Oz after them to keep an eye on their activities while the duo climbed down the hill keeping a fair distance away. "They're going into the left tunnel" She said as they followed behind them, staying behind the rock to remain out of sight. As they ventured further in they started to feel a dark presence emanating from the hillchurls who seemed to be in a trance as they met with another large group of Hillichurls.
Anangi and Fischl stopped behind the corner as they watched. "Odd why on earth are they meeting here and what's that?" He said pointing to a purple stone in the center. The hillichurls circled around it as they chanted something that seemingly made them excited as it got louder and their movements became more violent. Fischl was about to send Oz in to fight them before one lobbed off the head of the one in front of him. Before FIschl could scream Anagi grabbed her mouth as the Hillichurls continued the actions with the Hilli's falling to the side one by one their red blood covering the stone and the ground around it. This continued until one remained as the stone glowed brightly covering the cavern in a purple and black light. Fischl covered her one eye as the light became blinding causing them to fall over. This caused the sound of ice breaking to thunder around alerting the hillichurl to the intruders behind him. The stone had stopped glowing as the hillichurl walked around the corner looking the two in the eye. A purple aura emanated from the hillichurl causing Fischl and Anagi backed up. Anangi summoned his spear as Fischl pulled out her bow watching to see what the new threat was. The hillichurl looked them up and down as he backed up. A voice echoed from the hillichurl.
"What brings you here, children of Baal" Anangi flinched as the hillichurl walked around them. "We came here to see what is going on with Dragonspine but i'm starting to think you may know." "Indeed Blood born from darkness will always find darkness. Twilight is my true home so while I'm here. I will simply make the best of it" He said as Fischl eyes went wide" The Dragon born from darkness who soared the skies against Dvalin". The hillichurl nodded as it sat down on a stone. "Indeed you're quite sharp. And thanks to Dvalin I will be reborn." he said pointing to the dim purple stone. "You boy, I'm sure you recognize it." he said as Anagi nodded. "Archon residue. The very same stuff that infected Dvalin" he said as Fischl looked at him confused. "Indeed that woman has taken great care of you. While the great traveller took care to gather the residue not all of it was preserved. After all what happened to all the chips that were knocked off in the sky." Fischl nodded her from relaxing. "You stole the leftovers," she said as Durin laughed. "You could call it that. However, that can only do so much. There must be so much more to give myself enough power to drive me." he said as Anagi sighed.
" So that explains all the dead Hillichurls. You used their elemental energy they give away when they die. Sucks to say though but you're not the dangerous dragon Durin anymore, now you're just another stubborn old bastard. So you won't be that hard to get rid of" He said as he threw the spear at the hillichurl. The spear would only hit the rock behind it at the possessed hillichurl seemingly turned into black smoke and flew behind them to the cave entrance. Anagi called it back as they chased after Durin. When they came to the entrance hundreds of hillichurls, Mitachurls, Samachurls, and Lawalchurls were there to meet them with the Durin floating off the ground in the middle. "Sadly I have things to do and can't be asked to deal with children, plus you can't bait me into fighting you. I'm no fool though I'm sure I will see you later" he said, flying off as the mob came after him and Fischl. He grabbed Fischl and ran off into the cave as arrows flew at them from all sides, one hitting Anangi in the arm. As they made it into an open area they turned around and began taking down some of the smaller enemies. Ice spikes shot at them from below and above as they dodged around. Anangi threw his spear causing electric explosions at the impact point and calling it back.
"God how many are there we have to catch him" he said as they looked around for an escape as a yell was heard. Hillichurls were being thrown to the side as the lawlachurls made their way in and launched themselves at them. Anagi met one in the sky striking it in the chest and electrocuting it as it fell to the ground. Fischl jumped out of the way of a ground shooting an arrow into the lawlachurls side using oz to send lighting at all her taking down the hilichurls who were on top of the brethren. As they fought the mob more lawlachurls came in specifically targeted Fischl as one grabbed her while she was distracted. Anagi was fighting off a huge mob of Hillichurls who had surrounded him as Fischl was squeezed by two lawlachurls who wrapped both of their huge hands around her small body. Fischl gasped for air trying to not break under the grip of the beast men. "Shit leave her alone Durin or else!"Anagi screamed as he slashed away the Hilichurls who were dogpiling him. As Fischl's consciousness faded blood started leaking from the Lawalchurls hands as Fischl stabbed at their hands with her broken arrow head feeling her ribs break as she passed out.
When she awoke she was in the middle of the cave surrounded by hundreds of bodies with anagai beside her covered in blood . "Nagi what happened?" Fischl said, struggling to speak. Anagi sighed as he picked her up. "I saved us, don't worry, I'm gonna get you to barbara" he said as the scene of the cave seemingly instantly shifted to the sky as she saw the clouds move past her eyes quickly behind her. She went back under as Anagi sighed, landing in Mondstat. Kathryne screamed for the knights before Anagi jumped over to the church from the ground. When he landed he busted through the cathedral. "Barbara!" he screamed as the sisters crowded around him and Fischl. He sat her down on the bench as Barbara ran in terrified at the sight of the unconscious Fischl and Anangi's blood soaked body. When they took Fischl to the back he left for the underground entrance to his home. He quickly took a shower cleaning his surprisingly unscathed body of blood that didn't belong to him as his mother came in hearing from the knights that her son was covered in blood carrying an injured Fischl.
As she walked into the bathroom she sighed seeing his blood soaked clothes on the stone floor. "What happened are you ok" He looked back at her, his purple eyes looking dimmer than usual. "I need you to pack me some clothes for Inazuma were leaving early" he said as he turned the shower off and got dressed. Lisa's face became serious as lightning curved around her. " Anangi let me make this clear you may want to keep stuff from Jean but I am your mother you do not keep things that cause this much trouble away from me" She said as Anangi glared at her before relaxing his look. "Durin is trying to come back" He said her eyes went wide as she walked to the door leading to the library. " Mom leave the Knights out of this. I don't know what he is planning but they can't handle it." He said as Lisa stopped and balled up her fist." And you can,you're just 17, I know you think you have some great responsibility because of your talents but you don't. We need help and that is what I'm going to go get" She said as Anagi flashed across the room grabbing Lisa's hand.
"Mom i'm going to get help just please trust me" He said as Lisa looked at him her eyes becoming watery. "Mom I promise if it gets too much I'll call for help but let me figure this out on my own. I have allies that can handle this issue just fine" He said as Lisa wiped her eyes and looked at him with her bright green eyes looking into his now Bright purple ones. "I am not losing you to the old gods problems. I saved you from that I will not allow you to walk back into it" Anagi nodded "I know and I won't. I promise I won't abandon you so easily. You're my family after all" he said as She sighed, grabbing a full liquor bottle and drinking a few gulps from it. "You're the reason I drink you know that." She said as Anagi gave her a hug before she relaxed and put the bottle down.
"I'm going to contact Zola tomorrow and see if he can help us out. While i'm in Inazuma I'll see if the traveller can get some info for me but I promise not to get involved." He said smiling as Lisa gave him a kiss on the cheek. You better not or it's dodge training again for a week" she said as he nodded. She smoothed out her dress as she walked out the door. "I'll have your bag ready when you get home tonight and I'll handle the bloody clothes," she said, going back to her post as he left using the back entrance and headed toward the church. He walked in as Rosaria was sat with barbara. "How is she doing?'' he asked, getting a smile from the deaconess. "Much better seems she only had two cracked ribs and some bruising. What happened Nagi if you don't mind me asking." Barbara said as Anagi looked at rosaria for help. "I dont think it's something you want to know about. Don't worry i'll handle that stuff" She said as she nodded toward the younger man. "I'm assuming you will fill me in later. Whatever it is Zola should be available to help" She said as Anagi blinked "Oh is he here I can go ask him right now" He said before Rosaria grabbed his shoulder and looked at the full food donation basket. "Oh I see, ew the dude just got back didn't he?" he said as Rosaria nodded again. "Yes and I doubt we will be seeing either of them today"
Anagi took in a breath before going to the back of the cathedral seeing Fischl on a bed awake and enjoying some hot tea with both of her sharp green eyes on full display. "Hey sweetie you feeling better," he said, sitting down beside her. "Yes much better as are the special blessings by the benevolent paladin of Barbatos. " She said before he laughed ."Yea definitely feeling better I see. Sorry I couldn't stop it sooner" he said looking down as Fischl patted his head. "Dont be you did save me after all. I wish I could burden you less. All I did was make it harder on you. I mean isn't that why you won't let me go to Inazuma with you. " She said as he sighed . He always knew FIschl was smart and while he figured she still didn't know the full weight of it there was no way she wouldn't catch the fact that this mission was dangerous. "No, I just can't guarantee your safety and if something would happen to you I don't know how I would cope." he said as he leaned into her chest. "I understand but I want to help you and I know I can. Well that city isn't safe for you. I can't believe your parents lied to Baal and left you alone " She said, holding her vision.
He sighed before looking at her and kissing her on the lips. "When I get back i'll take you on a date to Fontaine. I'm sure you will love it." he said, smiling as she smiled back at him wincing as she turned his way. " Deal but make sure your safe ok miss Lisa would turn into an international criminal if you got hurt" she said as he laughed. "I know i'll even finally let you meet Ayaka and the guys. " he said as she pinched his side "And don't forget that you are the internal Partner of the Princezzin" she said sticking her nose up as he pushed his head onto hers. "I will never loosen the shackles that bind our contract Fischl prinzessin of the Immernachtreich." He said as she blushed and smiled. "Now go and get ready. You and Lumine have quite the road ahead of you. I'm in good hands here. Oh also here Albedo needs this" She said giving him the necklace as he stood. He grabbed it and hugged her softly making sure not to hurt her ribs and walked out to the now night sky, going back to his home where a bag was waiting for him. He saw a letter on top of it causing him to smile seeing the ever familiar stamp of the Inazuma Bakufu.
He left out as a kaeya sat in the shadows watching him with a grin on his face. "Well I see you're up and feeling well as is your special little friend" he said as Anagi stopped hearing a voice that tended to cause him great irritation. "Yes she is well Sir Kaeya. I trust she is in good hands." He said walking before placing a hand on his shoulder. "From one great man to another fighting for people while having other allegiances only ends in pain" he said as Anagi slapped his hand away. " I don't have other allegiances regardless of what my family is. Can you say the same" he said walking out of Mondstat as Kaeya watched him leave sighing."Poor boy that blood has trapped you the same as mine. I've made my decision and soon you will have to as well."
