Daya: Abhiansh tu yahan?
Abhiansh was about to answer something when ACP sir's heavy voice rang from behind Daya as...
ACP sir: haan Daya... yeh CID ka naya officer hain... Abhiansh Sharma... pehle yeh Patna CID mein tha... wahan se transfer hua hain yahan... yeh aaj se yahin, hum logo ke saath kaam karega... waise Daya tum jante ho ise?
Daya(in delighted voice): haan sir... yeh mera bachpan ka dost hain... aapko bataya tha na maine ko main aur Abhijeet ne... (Abhijeet looked towards him in strange gaze)... ek ghayal admi ko rescue kiya tha, woh Abhi hi hain...
ACP sir: accha? Phir to bohot acchi baat hain...
Daya: waise Abhi, tu ne kabhi bataya nahin ki tu bhi CID officer hain aur yahin kaam karega...
Abhiansh: arey yaar surprise naam ki bhi koi cheez hota hain... main yahan Mumbai isliye hi to aaya hoon taki tere saath kaam kar saku... tu jo woh peechle mahine ek conference par gaya tha na, wahin dekha tha maine tujhe... haan, mil nahin saka kyun ki tu bhi busy tha aur main bhi... jab fursat mila to pata chala ki tu to nikal gaya... phir chan bin ki to pata chala ki tu yahan Mumbai mein posted hain... tab se hi main koshish kar raha tha transfer ki... ab dekh, mil bhi gaya mujhe transfer...
Daya hugged him tightly with a cheerful...
Daya: tu ne bohot accha kiya yaar... kitne saalon baad mil rahe hain hum... aur ab to saath mein hi kaam karenge...
Abhiansh: haan... maza aayega bohot... phir se do best friends ek saath...
Daya(with a broad smile): hmm...
ACP sir was looking towards the pair of friends with a smile over his lips but hearing the last line said by Abhiansh, his smile vanished. He looked towards Daya with curious gaze but hearing his "hmmm", a frown appeared on his face. All of a sudden, he started to feel as something big and bad was coming towards their way. It would have been better if Abhiansh had not arrived there. He once looked towards Abhijeet, whom he found looked towards the floor silently. Not towards his own feet but towards the feet of Daya and Abhiansh.
Abhijeet was not looking the feet of Daya and Abhiansh but he was staring towards the sun rays coming through the open window and the shadows of Daya and Abhiansh, formed due to it. The shadows of both the best friends, hugging each other, was inside the way of sunlight. And his own shadow was outside the way of sunlight! He was not allowed to enter the boundaries. He was feeling dejected and sad! He did not want Daya to leave all of his friends due to him, he just wanted a place in Daya's life and a personal space for them but unfortunately, he was not allowed to have so!
Was somebody going far away along with the passing away of time? Was the distance increasing? Was coldness of silence overpowering the warmth of relationship? Nowadays, all these questions continuously pricked Abhijeet from inside his heart regarding Daya. He could understand that a greyish milky way was being created between them, covering kilometres of area within it, destroying their relation. He could not match nowadays' Daya with the former one. He could not understand the reason.
It was almost three weeks since Abhiansh had joined CID Mumbai, and as much expected of Abhijeet, he had gained the best position in Daya's life, side-lining him. Nowadays, though they still stayed in the same house, a very few words were exchanged between Daya and Abhijeet. Daya remained much busy with his mobile, talking to Abhiansh, though they met everyday in bureau. Neither Abhijeet nor Shreya could not remember when Daya had had dinner with them last time or had spent time with them. Though Daya and Abhijeet went to bureau with each other, they left it separately. Daya went with Abhiansh to show him the city and to have dinner with him while Abhijeet returned home all by himself.
During the lunch hour of bureau, Abhijeet was seemed to be sitting in his desk, with a file opened in front of him but his mind was revolving in this hurtful track. Daya and his Abhi was still in the canteen for having lunch while Abhijeet had returned early with the excuse of having some work. He really had some work to do but he could not concentrate. Rather, his mind was interested for a self analysis. Was he really feeling jealous? Or possessive? Or he just wanted to have some space in his friend's life? He could not get the answer.
He came out from his thoughts with the sound of his mobile ringing. He received the call with a silent "hello", but the information he got from other side make him stunned at his place for some moments. Then he managed to control his emotions and said in trembled voice...
Abhijeet: accha main abhi aaya...
Disconnecting the call, he remained sitting in his desk for some moments to control his emotions. After it he stood up and looked towards Daya's desk. It was still empty. But he could not help it now. He really needed Daya beside him now, at this moment. He rushed out from his desk to go to canteen.
But as he went to the door of bureau hall to open it, the door got automatically opened from the other side and Daya seemed to be standing on the other side. He was really shocked to see Abhijeet standing in the other side of the door, so he asked in concern...
Daya: kya hua?
Abhijeet: Daya tumhe abhi ke abhi mere saath chalna hoga... actually...
No he could not complete his words today as Abhiansh too appeared in the scene with saying...
Abhiansh: ruk kyun gaye Daya? Baat kya hain? Headquarters mein meeting hain abhi... late karne se bad impression padega, maloom haina? Chalo abhi...
Saying this he grabbed Daya's hand tightly, in front of Abhijeet. This scenario really hurt Abhijeet today but be could not pay much heed to this. He again said in a pleading tone...
Abhijeet: Daya please... meri baat to suno... tumhe abhi mere saath chalna hi hoga..n actually woh...
No, he was not allowed to complete his words this time also as Daya himself stopped him and said in firm tone...
Daya: abhi main kisi bhi halat mein tumhare saath nahin chal sakta... headquarters mein urgently bulaya gaya hain mujhe aur Abhiansh ko... koi mission aaya hain shayad... meeting hain... please meri baat ko samjho... main raat ko lautke tumhari sari problems ke bare mein dhyan se sununga... abhi chalta hoon... bye... Abhi chalo!
Saying this, he went towards his desk and collected some files from it. Abhijeet looked towards Abhiansh, who was still standing near him and saw him looking towards him with a smirk playing over his lips and with mocking gaze in his eyes. Daya returned and then they went away through the corridor in rapid steps, leaving a speechless Abhijeet behind.
Since when Daya had become such calculating? He was not ready to even listen to him! How would he manage all the things now, all by himself? He felt that his eyelashes were getting moist. He really had never expected this from Daya. He was feeling darkness had prevailed around them when a delicate voice entered his ear as...
Voice: kuch problem hain kya? Main kuch help kar sakti hoon kya?
Was not that Purvi's voice? Abhijeet turned behind with a jerk and saw her standing behind him. He felt that she had appeared in his life cracking the darkness which had prevailed around him all of a sudden. Though they shared a good relationship, but Abhijeet had never shared his personal problems with her. But today he did not hesitate and said in broken tone...
Abhijeet: haan please...
Though Daya had promised to return early that night, but he could not as he had got stuck in the meeting of headquarters and then Abhiansh had invited him for a dinner in his house. He could not deny him or his requests. After all they shared their childhood together in that orphanage. He is good friend, Daya admitted. He could never deny Abhiansh's cute requests or small tantrums. He was really blessed to have such a friend in his life, Daya thought. And he never understood how time escaped so quickly whenever Abhiansh was with him. He was just the person he wanted as his friend. Abhiansh was a perfect friend!
He was driving towards their home when he saw Purvi was walking through the road. She was coming from the direction of their home and was coming towards the direction of his car, though she had not noticed his car. She was seemed to be tired and her jacket was held in his hand while her hairs were untied.
Daya was shocked to see her in this condition. Had she gone to their house? Now? At this hour of time? Why? Abhijeet and Shreya were alone there, in the house. Had Abhijeet called her? Why? What necessity had arisen at the hour of night, so that she had to visit their house? And why her gesture was so tiring? What had happened in their house? What relationship did Abhijeet and Purvi shared? Yes, he knew that both him and Abhijeet claimed Purvi as their sister and Abhijeet was in relationship with Tarika, but seeing Purvi here, at this moment, Daya could not help thinking all these.
He entered the house thinking all these and immediately got stopped on his way seeing the condition of the house. The drawing room was dark, while in other days, Abhijeet used to wait for him there, being indifferent how late he might be! But today, though he returned early, the drawing room was vacant and dark!
He moved his gaze towards Abhijeet's room, whose door was kept slightly ajar. Some rays of dim night lamp were coming our from the little gap, which made Daya realize that Abhijeet was still awake as he knew that his buddy could never sleep without getting the bedroom cent percent dark. He, in low steps, went near the door, opened it slightly to look inside. But the scenario he saw inside was more enough to make him hell shocked! A shocked whisper came out from his mouth in broken tone...
Daya: nahin!

Guest: dear Daya is not doing that intentionally. It's all about human nature. Whenever we get something new, we easily forget about the old one, though it can be temporary. If we meet somebody after a long gap, it's normal that we will want to spend some time with that person. That's good but we should not forget that our other friends too are waiting for us.
