It felt like I had barely closed my eyes when I heard the creak of a door being opened. My head fuzzy I cracked open my left eye watching on as Connor poked his head into the living room, his eyes travelling the room. When I felt his gaze fall on me I quickly closed my eye hoping he wouldn't notice that I was awake for reasons I didn't know.

Keeping his footsteps light Connor headed towards the sleeping form of Lola on the well-worn couch, the same couch Hank repeatedly refused to replace even at Connor's insistance. Shaking his head at the arugment that he had had with the veteran detective and his adoptive father, Connor knelt directly in front of Lola.

Not hearing his footsteps anymore I cracked open both eyes this time to find Connor kneeling in front of me, the fingers of his left hand brushing my forehead. "Now what are you doing?" I muttered as he stared at me, eyes widening ever so slightly once he realized that I was awake.

"I was merely checking how your leg is healing, Miss...I mean, Lola." Connor explained after a pause and I snorted at him, shaking my head as he continued to stare.

"If that were true why are you sneaking around in the dark? Oh and that's my forehead not my leg." I pointed out seeing a blue tinge in his cheeks immediately after. "Are you actually...blushing? Wow." I asked, forgetting all about being annoyed at him and he cleared his throat.

"I was not sneaking around I just didn't want to wake you." Connor protested and I snorted, shifting over a little and he raised an eyebrow at me.

"You can sit with me if you want." I sighed, patting the couch and when he stared at me I rolled my eyes. "You know to check my leg." I added and he nodded as he carefully sat beside me. When I thrust my foot onto his lap he blinked at me and I giggled as it. "Well?"

"Very well, Lola." Connor sighed and as he gently lifted my ankle and the leg attached to it off his lap I couldn't help having to stifle a laugh when his fingers accidently brushed the base of my foot. "Lola, are you alright?"

"Sorry but I happen to be ticklish." I explained and just for a moment I caught a smile curling his lips. When Hank finally emerged from his bedroom he found his adopted son holding one my legs and as he watched with a raised eyebrow Connor ran the fingernails of his right hand across the base of my foot, causing me to start giggling uncontrollably.

Clearing his throat Hank watched both Connor and I slowly turn our heads. Once we realized he'd bee watching our exchange I felt my cheeks heat up and even Connor's cheeks took on a bluish tinge. "Should I come back?" Hank joked as Connor carefully removed my leg from his lap and as he climbed to his feet, straightening his jacket in the process, Hank gave me a tiny smile.

"This is not what you think. I was only checking to see how well Lola's injury was healing." Connor explained as I giggled at him, noting the eyebrow raise he gave me.

"Of course you were, Connor. That's all that was. Just a medical checkup." I replied giving him a slow smile and I swear he actually coughed, his eyes widening as Hank stifled a snort of laughter behind his hand.

"Now since that's done I might try and head home. I do need to get home at some point." I added as I started to rise from the couch until Connor folded his arms against his chest. "Oh what now, android?" I grumbled and he gave me a raised eyebrow before he opened his mouth, slowly shaking his head as he did.

"You have not healed enough to be walking around without assistance." Connor explained and I growled at him, pushing at his shoulder when he stood directly in front of me. Hank just stood back watching our staring contest until Connor unexpectedly stood back enough to allow me to push myself up off the couch and I snorted at the android.

Despite the ache in my ankle and leg I forced myself to stand on my own two feet ignoring how quiet Connor had become. Thinking I'd won I straightened and as I smiled at him I made the mistake of putting my injured ankle directly on the floor beneath me with nothing to hold me up.

Which sent me crashing to the floor with a very undignified scream, a loud bang followed right away by an even more unladylike series of curses that mainly involved a certain android. Said android helped me back onto the safety of the couch despite my protests and Hank's no longer stifled laughter. Even Sumo barked at my failed attempt and I just know he was laughing at me when I crossed my arms, chewing my lower lip.

"I did try to warn you, Lola." Connor answered after an awkward pause and I just growled something under my breath that sounded like an insult. Having never heard the series of words in one sentence Connor looked at Hank for help when the detective finally managed to stop laughing for long enough to issue a response.

"Connor, you really don't want me repeating that." Hank chuckled, leaving Connor very confused as he looked from me to Hank and back. "Trust me on that and just let it go."
