After Star arrived at her classroom she quickly sat down in her seat. To no surprise, Jackie was in her class and was sitting in the back row along with the rest of her squad. They were whispering about Star, thinking she couldn't hear them, but she did anyway and they still didn't care if she heard.
"I bet she's only with Marco to get popular."
"Of course she is! Why would he be with someone like her?"
"I know, right? He's not even his type!
"What's up with those weird hearts on her cheeks?"
"Probably some lame washable tattoos or something."
All the girls laughed and continued to whisper about Star, who just stared at her desk. The teacher then walked out of the class to get some papers from the printer.
'Oh no. Why did the teacher have to leave now?! Those girls are surely gonna come up to me!' Star thought nervously, and sadly she was right. Jackie and two other girls came up to Star and stood in front of her desk.
"What do you guys want?" Star asked timidly.
"Oh you know exactly what we want." Jackie smirked as she grabbed Star's tie, making her squeal a bit since it was already tied tightly around her neck.
"I-Is this about M-Marco?" Star choked out.
"Of course it's about Marco!" Jackie hissed, pulling on her tie tighter. "Now, you're gonna stay away from him or-"
"Or what Jackie?"
Star and Jackie almost jumped in surprise and quickly turned towards the door and saw Marco standing there along with the teacher.
"Jackie, you know very well bullying is not tolerated here." The teacher scolded.
"B-But it isn't my fault!" Jackie cried as she released her grip on Star's tie. "I-I was just fixing her tie! I swear!"
The two girls that had followed Jackie quickly scurried back to their seats and pretended to be talking to the other girls so they wouldn't get in trouble.
"Let's have the cameras be the judge of your claim then, Lynn-Thomas." Marco smirked.
Soon enough, Star, Marco, Jackie, and the teacher were standing in the principal's office watching the camera footage and Jackie was screaming things in anger.
"Jackie, I'm afraid we have no choice but to suspend you for two weeks. Afterwards, you have a week of detention." The principal explained.
"This isn't fair!" Jackie wailed. "Do you know who I am? My dad will have you fired!"
"You two may head to lunch now." The teacher whispered to Star and Marco as Jackie continued ranting and screaming. The two teens didn't hesitate to quickly head out of the principal's office and almost ran down the hallway.
"Jeez, Jackie might as well audition for the lead role in the drama club play with that acting." Marco laughed. He looked over at Star, who just held her head down and walked silently beside him.
"I'm sorry." He muttered. Star looked at him in shock, but smiled a bit and held his hand, causing him to look at her surprised and confused.
"If we're gonna be doing this we might as well work together, right?" Star smiled. Marco managed to crack a small smile and patted her on the head.
"I guess you're right princess." Marco chuckled. "You wanna meet my other friends?"
"That would be splendid." Star beamed. "Your friend Oskar had invited me to meet them earlier, so off we go!"
Marco felt his blood freeze. His anger started to rise, but he knew this was not the time or place to let his anger issues get the best of him. He started breathing heavily, making Star look at him in concern.
"Marco are you okay? Do you need to sit down?" She asked.
Marco swallowed dryly. "I'm fine. I just need some water. Go ahead and meet up with Oskar."
Star didn't feel right leaving him alone like this, but complied with his choice and walked down the hallway as Marco watched her disappear.
"FUCK!" Marco shouted as he punched a nearby locker, denting it slightly. He ran his hands through his hair as he tried to calm himself down.
'I can't be near Star like this. It'll get too problematic.' Marco thought, sighing.
Meanwhile, Star continued to walk down the hallway in search of the classroom hallway. Then she realized Oskar never told her which classroom hallway, so she wandered aimlessly in each hallway.
"Where could they be? This school can't be that big!" Star muttered to herself as she looked past the corner, but it led to a dead end so she turned around.
Suddenly, Star heard laughter coming from one of the hallways. Listening very closely, she followed the sound and soon saw Oskar and another girl sitting on the floor, talking and laughing together. Oskar then looked back and saw Star standing there and waved her over.
"Hey Star! Glad you could make it!" Oskar grinned. "This is Janna, a childhood friend of Marco."
Janna looked up and down at Star but didn't say a word. Star stood there awkwardly until Oskar cleared his throat.
"Come sit down. We brought a lot of snacks to share!" He smiled. Star beamed at him gratefully and sat next to him on the floor. Oskar handed Star a bottle and a bag of chips, leaving Star in amazement of what these food items were.
"What are these?" Star asked him.
"Oh, that's a bottle of soda and that's a bag of chips." Oskar hesitated. "You don't know what these are?"
"Tch, she's a dumbass bro. Anyone with a brain should know what they are!" Janna snickered. Star looked down at the floor as Oskar glared at Janna.
"That's mean Janna! She's probably not used to food here or something!" Oskar frowned. "I'm sorry about her Star."
Star smiled a bit. "It's okay, you're right anyway. I'm not used to these kinds of foods."
"Well, where are you from?" Oskar asked.
"If I told you guys you wouldn't believe me." Star sighed.
Oskar smiled and patted her head. "It's okay, I'll believe you!"
Star blushed and smiled. "Well for starters, I'm not from Earth, or any other place on Earth. I'm from a dimension called Mewni, where I'm the daughter of the Butterfly family, which is one of the royal families there."
Oskar and Janna stared at her in silence until Janna erupted in laughter.
"Oh man! That has got to be the craziest fairy tale I've ever heard!" She wheezed as she continued to double over in laughter. Star frowned and looked away while Oskar glared at Janna.
"What's with all the laughter?"
The three teens quickly looked at which direction the voice came from and saw that it was Marco, who was standing there with an unamused face and had his arms crossed.
"Marco you're never going to believe this!" Janna chuckled. "This girl said she's the princess of Moo-ni or something. Can you believe it?"
"Actually, I can." Marco growled. "She's telling the truth."
Janna looked at Marco in shock. "You can't be serious!"
Marco sighed. "It's true Janna. Believe what you want, Star is part of that royal family. Even if it does sound made up."
Janna growled and stood up, sending a glare at Star that was so harsh it made her flinch a bit and snarled, "Mark my words you little princess, I'm going to expose you as the fraud you are one way or another."
Then she walked down the hallway with her fists clenched and her cheeks slightly red with anger.
Star sighed. "I'm really sorry guys. This is all my fault."
"No it isn't Star." Oskar told her while putting an arm around her, squeezing her shoulder reassuringly, which made Marco's eye twitch a bit. "Janna has a hard time trusting people because of her past, but I'm sure one of these days she'll come around!"
"Then what should I do to become friends with her? We've already gotten off to a bad start!" Star frowned.
"That may be true, but Janna is a really good friend. I'll talk to her for you." Marco promised.
Star smiled gratefully. "Thanks you guys!"
Suddenly the bell rang, making the three of them yelp, but then they all laughed at one another and walked to class together.
'This seems like the start of a long lasting friendship.' Star thought to herself as she happily skipped to class between Marco and Oskar.
