Preface: Hello, again! I'm pretty glad to have gotten this chapter uploaded today, especially since I previously said I wasn't gonna be able to. I know this story was pretty short, but I hope you don't think it was rushed! Before we start, though, a shout-out to the anonymous user who read yesterday's one-shot, Wedding Shop: I'm glad you liked it, though don't expect too much Bluey x Mackenzie stuff in the future! Anyway, let's get started!
The Boy, The Tiger, and The Heelers
A Calvin and Hobbes/Bluey Story by Alfred von Any
Previously...while testing out some updated dimensional-travelling technology, Calvin and Hobbes found themselves in a world inhabited by anthropomorphic dogs. Once there, they saw two of the dogs vanish, and after discovering that the culprit was their enemy Retro, they teamed up with the dogs' parents, Bandit and Chilli, to rescue them. While they were successful, Retro was able to escape before provokation.
Now...Calvin attempts to contact help in order to get after Retro.

Chapter 3:
Battle of the Living Mind
[Main Party Selected: Calvin, Hobbes]
[Supporting Party Selected: Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, Chilli]
[Current World: Bonegea]
[Current Location: Underground Lab, Imaginator Room]
[BGM: Asu01 - A Castle on the Hill]
The only sound that came from the MTM was the buzzing as it attempted to call one of the allies Calvin had made throughout the years. "Can you reach Andy or Sherman?" Calvin asked the CD player. "How about Socrates?"
"Sorry, but it looks like the dimensional placements have messed with my airwaves," responded MTM.
Bluey looked at the CD player. "So you messed with this CD player, and now it can talk?" she asked.
"And do all sorts of cool tricks!" said Calvin, in a sort of bragging tone. Just then, the buzzing changed to static that was slowly clearing up. "Wait, were you able to contact someone?"
"Galaxoid and Nebular," said MTM. "Their technology is advanced enough to bypass any obstruction." The AI's voice vanished as it began to pick up the signal.
"Galaxoid! Nebular!" said Hobbes. "Do you read us?"
"We read you loud and clear," came an unfamiliar voice from the other end. "What is happening?"
"Somehow, Retro has returned and came to this world inhabited by dogs," Calvin explained. "He kidnapped two of them and tried to use the Imaginator on them."
"Yeah, and it hurt a lot," added Bluey. "Please, can you help us?"
"Well, we were on our way to one of those 'conventions' you humans care so much about," said another voice, "but we may be able to take you to where Retro is right now."
"Thanks, you two," said Calvin as the transmission ended.
At that moment, Bingo, the other puppy Retro kidnapped, finally woke up, holding her head. "Mum? Dad?" she said, tiredly, "where are we?"
Bandit rubbed the back of his head. "Well, some evil scientist kidnapped you and Bluey, but this kid and tiger here helped us save you."
"Who were you talking to, anyway?" Chilli asked.
"Oh, some aliens I befriended," said Calvin, "but don't worry. They're friendly."
Bluey perked up, her tail wagging. "Ooo! Aliens!"
"Aliens, mate? Really?" said Bandit, in disbelief. "I find that hard to-" Before he could interject further, he suddenly felt the sensation of his body being taken apart like puzzle pieces again.
"Huh? What's happening now?" asked Bingo, anxiously.
"Yeah, being beamed takes a little getting used to," admitted Hobbes. "You may wanna hold onto something." Before long, everyone suddenly vanished from the room in a bright light, leaving only dust behind. One of the weird creatures Retro created walked into the room, having heard something odd, but since there was nobody there, he simply left and went back to cleaning the hallway.
[Location Change: Galaxoid and Nebular's Spaceship]
Bluey felt as if her body was being put back together again. It was, how should I put it, strange. "Ow. My bum!" she said, as soon as she felt her tail reattach. She looked around at the new sight before her. It looked incredibly futuristic, with unusual-looking buttons and strange screens, and from the windows she could see the empty vastness of outer space. "Cool! We're on an alien spaceship!" she said.
Bingo turned around to see Calvin and Hobbes conversing with strange, gray blobs with single eyes. They were both wearing jumpsuits with rings around the collars and big, pointy cone hats. One of them had star icons on his clothing, while the other had moon icons. "Bluey, look! Aliens!" she said. The two pups turned around and squealed.
"So are these the beings that Retro kidnapped?" asked Galaxoid.
"Yep, but I'll admit," said Calvin, "they're handling this better than I did back when I first encountered Retro."
"Yes, we remember that vividly," stated Nebular. He turned around and typed on the screen with his tentacles. He brought up a picture of a fortress floating in the sky that seemed to be created entirely out of dark matter. "This is the fortress that Retro is currently residing in, and it seems that he has the results of the Imaginator all around the halls leading to his new throne room."
"So all we have to do is get past whatever is there and find Retro," said Chilli. She brandished the Transmogrifier Gun. "I'm gonna turn him into a lizard for what he did."
"Can we come too, Dad?" asked Bluey. "We really want to help!"
"Uh, sorry, kiddo," said Bandit, cautiously, "but I think this is too dangerous for you two." Both puppies simultaneously said "Aww," as their tails drooped.
"Your dad's right, you two," added Calvin. "This is a bit too dangerous for some ordinary kids."
"But you're an ordinary kid!" interjected Bingo.
"Actually, he's over thirty years old," Hobbes said in protest. "We were just trapped in a floating timeline for most of it."
Bandit rubbed his head. "I officially have no clue what's going on anymore."
"Besides, this isn't just some game." Upon hearing his own words, however, Calvin got a great idea. "Unless it can be."
"Calvin, are you crazy?" said Hobbes. "Now is not the time for playing games!"
"Just follow my lead," said Calvin. "MTM, summon the Duplicator from the Hypercube." In an instant, a cardboard box appeared right in the middle of the spaceship. Calvin walked up, turned it on its side, and walked inside. "Press the button a couple of times, Hobbes!"
"Well, I guess we could cover more ground with duplicates," mused the tiger as he pressed the button twice. BOINK! BOINK! Everyone else watched in awe as Calvin stepped out of the box, alongside three duplicates of himself.
"A cardboard box that can clone you?" said Chilli, unsure of what else to say. "This day just keeps getting weirder and weirder."
Before long, there were four of everyone, minus Galaxoid and Nebular, with the original Calvin, Hobbes, Bandit, and Chilli each holding one of Calvin's inventions. "Alright, so if Retro is gonna try and fight us with whatever games Bluey and Bingo made up," explained Calvin-1, "we're gonna fight back, Calvinball-style!"
"What's Calvinball?" asked the Blueys.
"Only the greatest sport in the world!" said Calvn-1.
"Basically, you just make up the rules as you go," explained Hobbes-1. "There are a few more rules like having to wear masks, but I think we'll have to make do without them."
"So we can just call out new rules whenever we like?" asked Chilli-2.
"Looks like it," said Chilli-3.
Bandit-1 rolled his eyes. "Can't wait to play this over and over again."
"Oh, you could use the exercise anyway," teased Chilli-1.
"We are now approaching Retro's fortress," interjected Galaxoid. "Are you sure you don't want us to come and help?"
"Thanks for the offer, Galaxoid," said Calvin. He looked around and saw all of the duplicates, ready to fight. "But I actually think we're good!"
"Very well," said Nebular. "Good luck, Earth Potentate." His tentacles flashed onto some more buttons, and once again, everyone felt the sensation of being taken apart, piece by piece.
"I really do hope that they do well," said Galaxoid. "If the Entity creature we've been studying is as dangerous as he seems, they may have needed us after all."
[Location Change: Floating Fortress, Entrance]
[BGM: Asu01 - The Great Chase]
As soon as everyone teleported into the entrance room of the fortress, they heard footsteps. They were coming fast, and they were coming towards them. "Alright, we're a team with our clones, and whoever defeats whatever we're facing gets ten points for their team!" said Calvin-1.
Bluey-1 squinted. In the distance, she could see a rather familiar sight. It looked like...more duplicates of her, dressed in a red towel and purple fake glasses. "Here come the grannies!" she shouted.
"Alright, everyone...go!" shouted the Hobbes's. With that, everyone charged at the Bluey duplicates that were charging back at them. Hobbes-1 tackled into the front duplicate, causing her to roll across the ground and some more to fall.
"Hey! New rule!" shouted Bluey-3, tussling with a duplicate brandishing a xylophone. "Anyone hit by the Magic Xylophone has to freeze with their hands up!" The duplicate suddenly did a ding on the xylophone with the dinger, and Bluey-3 froze in place, her arms sticking up in the air.
"I've got you!" shouted Calvin-2, grabbing a similar xylophone from another duplicate. He did a ding, causing the grannie-Bluey to freeze in place, leaving Calvin-1 to fire a laser from the MTM to defeat it.
"Nice work, mate!" shouted Bandit-1. Suddenly, he felt one of his duplicates pick him up, acting like a baboon. "Hey, let go, Ooo-Ooo!" he shouted, squirming.
Hobbes-2 looked at a nearby granny-Bluey and saw that she was holding a piece of asparagus. "I think it's this thing!" he said, plucking the asparagus from her hands. He pointed it at Ooo-Ooo and shouted "Dog!", causing the duplicate to revert to his usual state.
"New rule!" shouted Bandit-3, putting his original down. "The magic asparagus should only be used to benefit your team!"
"Another new rule!" shouted Bingo-4, tackling into a granny-Bluey holding a feather. "Anyone hit by the Featherwand loses five points!" She pointed in the direction of a couple of granny-Blueys cornering Calvin-3 and shouted "Heavy!" causing everyone to fall to the ground.
"Rats! I lost five points!" shouted Calvin-1. Suddenly, he saw a stuffed bear being thrown at him, somehow causing him to be tossed to the ground.
"Not on my watch, beary!" shouted Chilli-1. Aiming the Transmogrifier Gun, she thought of a tranquilizer dart and shot at the bear, turning it into the somewhat-harmful dart.
"Ooo, new rule!" shouted Calvin-1, loading the dart into the MTM. "Helping another team gets you both five points!" He aimed at Bingo-3, who had been turned into a lion by an asparagus, and shot the dart, causing the duplicate to fall asleep.
"And if a duplicate falls, they're out!" shouted Bluey-4. Suddenly, her body froze as she turned into a stone statue. Emerging from behind her was a dalmatian, dressed in a wicked-looking crown and cape made from leaves and brandishing a toy wand.
"Rats! They're calling in reinforcements!" cried Hobbes-2. Suddenly, he was knocked down by a Japanese spitz, swinging on a fabric swing. One-by-one, the teams began to fall, and before long, the original Calvin, Hobbes, Bluey, Bingo, Bandit, and Chilli were the only ones left.
"Well, it looks like we're in trouble now!" shouted Bandit.
"Not quite yet," said Hobbes. He turned to Calvin. "Is it time to fulfill that rule we secretly made?"
Calvin nodded. "When only one member of each team is left," he stated, "use the Time Stopper."
"What's the Time Stopper?" asked Chilli.
Hobbes took out a small, yellow spinning top with a red button on it. "This thing will cause time around us to freeze, so long as we're all touching it." Unsure, the Heeler family put their hands on the button alongside Calvin and Hobbes, just as the reinforcements charged at the remaining players. In a flash, everything else froze in place.
"Wackadoo," Chilli breathed. "So what happens now?"
"It's bonus time!" shouted Calvin. "We just try to beat up everyone else the best that we can!" He took out the Wormhole Digger. "And with this baby, it should be easy!"
"For real life?" asked Bluey, eagerly.
Calvin thought of the area of space behind the reinforcements and activated the drill. A green wormhole appeared in space to Bluey and Bingo's awe. "For real life," he answered.
And so, everyone hopped through the wormhole and began to attack the others. The duplicate of Bingo that was using a jetpack to carry off Calvin-4 was pummeled by the original Bingo smashing a squash racquet against her, followed by the dalmatian being turned into a harmless little ladybug by Chilli. Hobbes then went on a pouncing spree on the spitzes who were swinging along on fabric swings. Using the Atomic Freezer, Bandit froze every single duplicate of himself that was tossing balloons (don't ask how those were harmful, I'm not too sure myself), and Bluey grabbed the giant green yoga ball that was being used by one of the granny-Blueys to bowl down a whole bunch of them. Calvin finished things off by sending one last laser from the MTM along the final stretch of duplicates. With that, there was no one there but the six players.
Everyone pressed the button on the Time Stopper once more, and the effects of their rampage finally registered, and every single enemy left was defeated. "Well, everyone, I believe that was the best Calvinball game in years!" proclaimed Calvin.
"It really was a fun game," said Bingo, giggling.
"Can we play when we get home, Dad?" Bluey asked, eagerly.
Bandit rolled his eyes. "Maybe tomorrow, squirt. For now, we gotta get that Retro guy!"
MTM shot a tracking laser across the fortress. "He should be right through that door there!" he said once the laser went back into him. "Oh, and I think Bandit won, by the way."
"Uss!" shouted Bandit, pumping his fist. "Guess my footy days were not forgotten!"
Everyone stared at the large, wooden door before them. "So, this is your last chance to back out," said Calvin. "Any takers?"
"I am a little scared," said Bluey. "But I'm gonna be the bravest I've ever been."
Calvin nodded. With that, he aimed the MTM at the door and fired one last laser, burning the door down.
[Character Selected: Retro]
[Current World: Bonegea]
[Current Location: Floating Fortress, Throne Room]
[BGM: Asu01 - Wild Dogs]
Retro was prepared for the intruders. Based off of his past encounters with Calvin, there was no doubt that Calvin may overcome his amazing preparations anyway. And so, as Retro sat on his throne, he kept a magic asparagus and feather nearby. He was going to make Calvin suffer for what he did.
The door suddenly burned down, and right away, the boy stepped in alongside Hobbes and those dogs. "Alright, Retro! It's time to end this!" the boy shouted, aiming the MTM at the scientist.
"I agree, Calvin," said Retro, smiling. "But I think it's the end for you!" He grabbed the feather and aimed it right at Calvin's shirt. Right away, the boy fell to the ground, because his shirt became so heavy he could barely wear it.
"Calvin!" shouted Hobbes. "Are you okay?" He grabbed Calvin's hand and tried to pick him up. However, the sudden weight of Calvin's shirt made him impossible to lift.
"You're gonna pay for that, you baddie!" shouted Bingo, getting into a fighting stance.
"No, he's gonna pay for tampering with reality!" interjected Retro. He grabbed the asparagus, aimed it at the gang, and shouted "Tigers!" Right away, the Heelers dropped to the ground, beginning to growl at Calvin.
"Uh-oh!" shouted Calvin. Desperately, he tried to crawl away, but due to his suddenly-heavy shirt, he was frozen in place. His only hope was to try and grab the Transmogrifier Gun that Chilli dropped.
"How does it feel, Calvin?" said Retro. "You wanted your stuffed tiger to be real so badly, and now you have even more real tigers! Cry. Cry for help." Suddenly, the scientist realized something. "Wait, where is that tiger?" He turned around, and was met with the sight of Hobbes opening his large, toothy mouth. Retro jumped back in shock, falling off of his throne, and the feather went flying through the air.
[BGM: Asu01 - Comrades Together]
Calvin finally reached the Transmogrifier Gun, and right as he was about to get mauled by the transformed Heeler family, he thought of them returning to their normal forms and shot every single one of them. They instantly stood up, reverting to their normal states. "And now to unheavy myself," he said, grabbing the feather and pointing it at his shirt.
Retro scrambled to stand back up. "No! This cannot happen again!" he shouted, desperately. He grabbed the asparagus once more and was just about to turn Calvin into a worm, when suddenly the boy shot the asparagus with the Transmogrifier Gun, turning it into an ordinary piece of asparagus. "What? Why won't this work?" gritted Retro.
"This is the end of the line for you," said Calvin, as he pointed the feather at Retro's lab coat. The scientist fell to the ground, unable to move.
Hobbes took out the Time Stopper again. "Wanna do the honors?" he asked.
Calvin turned around and looked at the Heelers. "Let's all do it toge-" he began, when he suddenly felt his legs being grabbed. In one last desperate attempt, Retro was pulling Calvin to the ground, leaving him in the same helpless state as the scientist.
Quickly, Bluey and Bingo ran up to Hobbes and put their hands on top of the Time Stopper. "Mum! Dad! Quickly!" shouted Bingo. The two parents ran over and placed their hands on the top. "Calvin!" said Bingo.
Getting determined to defeat him again, Calvin kicked Retro in the face, stunning the scientist. Retro flinched, and Calvin was able to grab Retro's hands and place them alongside his own onto the Time Stopper. With another flash, time once again stopped, although this time it was less noticeable.
"Well, Retro, you tried to break free from your prison, and you failed," said Calvin, free from the scientist's grasp. "I hope when you go back here, you've learned a little lesson this time. Farewell." With that, Calvin pressed the Time Stopper's button once more, and in one last flash, Retro was left staring at the six who had defeated him once more, now frozen alongside everything else.
[BGM: End]
"No! Noooooo!" shouted the scientist, having officially been defeated once more. He dipped his head in shame. "I was given another chance, and the boy took it away from me. I truly am a failure."
"I am sorry for doing this," he suddenly heard the Antity say. "But I am afraid it is my turn."
"What does that-" Retro began, when suddenly, he felt himself being sent back to where he once was. "No! I can't go back! Please! Noooo-"
Meanwhile, everyone else was celebrating their victory. "I can't believe we did it!" shouted Chilli.
"Well, a lot of unbelievable things happened today!" said Bandit.
"Well, how does it feel to be heroes?" Calvin asked the puppies.
Bingo sighed. "It sure is trifficult," she said, before grabbing her face in embarrassment.
Bluey patted her sister's back. "I think we wanna go home," she said. "After all this, maybe an ordinary life isn't so bad."
[BGM: Asu01 - In the Hall of the Mountain King]
"Too bad you shall never make it back…" Everyone suddenly heard a new voice say. Turning around, they saw an absolutely horrifying sight - Retro's frozen body began to tear apart, ripping to shreds before rearranging itself into a totally incomprehensible creature. The only things everyone could make out were long, black tentacles.
Bluey cowered in fear. "W-what are you?" she asked.
"I am the Antity, the dark side of the Entity," answered the creature. "And now, you shall join me in eternal darkness." The tentacles attempted to wrap around everyone, beginning to squeeze the life out of them. Only Bluey was able to escape, but the floors were slowly starting to dissolve.
"Th-this is n-not how I wanted my d-day to go…" gasped Calvin. Suddenly, he heard static coming from the MTM again, and Bluey picked up the CD player.
"Everyone! In case you encounter a creature called the Antity, we have found his weakness!" came Galaxoid's voice on the other end. "It's a place called the Static Dimension!"
"Well, what are we waiting for then?" shouted Calvin. "MTM, summon the Wormhole Digger!"
"On it!" shouted MTM. The drill magically appeared in Calvin's hands once more, but with another squeeze, it fell out of his hands, landing in front of Bluey.
There was no time to waste. The blue heeler picked up the drill, thought of a world made entirely of static, and pressed the button. As soon as the wormhole appeared, the Antity began to be sucked right into it, as if it were a vacuum.
"No! Not the Static Dimension! I can't go back! Noooooo-" The creature echoed Retro's final moments as it was sucked right into the portal. The tentacles began to let go of the captives as it was banished to its only weakness.
As it did, the fortress finally gave way and vanished. Normally, everyone would begin to fall to their deaths, but instead, their vision was filled with another white flash. And this one was not going to stop time…
[Location Change: ?]
[BGM: Asu01 - Climax]
Calvin opened his eyes. He wasn't sure where he was...or even if he was anywhere! The boy, the tiger, and the Heelers were all floating in a white void, seemingly safe from harm.
"Greetings, mortals," they heard a calming, high-pitched voice say. "I am the Entity's good side, the Amnity. I would like to congratulate you on banishing my brother to the Static Dimension."
"Eh, it was no sweat," said Calvin. "That's just what we do."
"Now then, Bluey and Bingo, I have an important message for you," continued the Amnity. "You two are slightly more special than you think."
"Special?" asked Bingo. "How?"
"I cannot say it right now, but your hearts are perhaps some of the purest in the multiverse. Because of this, allow me to be your family's guardian angel. If you are to experience a traumatic event from somewhere outside your world, I shall keep you and your family safe from all ill effects from it."
"So we'll only remember the good bits?" asked Bluey.
"In a way."
Calvin scoffed. "Poorly-incorporated handwaves are so 2005!"
"Don't be cross, Calvin," said Hobbes. "You don't want to mess with someone like him."
"Furthermore, Bluey," continued the Amnity, "if you were to encounter the one you love in the near future, simply show an expression of your affection, and you and another group of special girls shall receive a special gift."
"A special gift?" Bluey asked. "What is it?"
"You shall find out in time," said the Amnity with a chuckle. "Now, it is time to send you all home. Farewell, brave ones." With that, the Amnity's voice faded out as another white flash blinded everyone's vision.
[Location Change: Heeler Household, Backyard]
[BGM: Asu01 - Relaxing Afternoon]
Next thing Calvin knew, he was back in the backyard where he first saw Bluey and Bingo be kidnapped. The shade of the Poinciana tree protected everyone from the setting sun. "Well, we're back," he said.
"Well, that was…" Bandit stretched his back as he sat up. "Quite an adventure."
Hobbes stood up and stretched. "So, do you think you can really go back to your regular lives after all that?" the tiger asked the Heelers.
Bandit and Chilli looked at each other. "Well, I guess we could try," said the red heeler, "but we'll never forget you two." She smirked. "And now that I've defeated a human scientist, setting up Bandit's brother Radley with Frisky doesn't seem so impossible…"
"You're really still on that?" said Bandit, jokingly elbowing his wife in the chest.
"Well, as for us, I think we're gonna head out of here now," stated Calvin. With one last request from the MTM, the cardboard box had returned, sitting upright this time. "It's been real, you two," he said, shaking Bandit and Chilli's hands.
Bluey and Bingo ran in and gave Calvin a big hug. "Thanks for saving us," said Bluey. "And for teaching us Calvinball."
"Heh. You're welcome," sad Calvin, awkwardly pushing the two away. He put on some swimming goggles and hopped into the box alongside Hobbes. After pressing some buttons on the box, it began to lift up into the air. The family waved goodbye to the two as the box vanished in a flash, leaving nothing behind.
The only other one who saw it was the Japanese spitz who lived next door. "Bandit, what on Earth was that?" she shouted.
"Oh, evening, Wendy!" shouted Bandit, awkwardly. "Nothing to see here!"
Bluey and Bingo giggled, but then their stomachs growled. "I'm hungry," said Bingo. "Dad, what's for dinner?"
"Hmm, I'm kinda in the mood for some takeaway!" said Bandit, excitement growing in his voice.
"Can we take a shower under the tap?" asked Bluey.
"Yes, you can," said Bandit, willing to let this one slide. "Now go get in the car!"
As the two puppies eagerly ran inside the house, Chilli looked at Bandit. "You're really gonna let them do that?" she asked.
"Eh, the spring roll lady didn't mind," Bandit answered, sheepishly. "Besides, we just saved the world. Let them have a little fun."
Chilli pulled her husband in for a one-sided hug as they walked inside the house. "You're a good dog, Bandit Heeler."
"And that boy and his tiger are pretty nifty themselves."
The end...almost!
The Heelers Will Return
Postface: Chapter compete! I hope you enjoyed the final battle - making it into a game of Calvinball and incorporating all of the Bluey references into it was pretty amazing! Although, I sure hope I can stop writing these things the same day that I upload them - that just makes things harder.
Anyway, if you aren't sure where each thing that the characters encounter is from, I'll tell you here - most of the corps fought are supposed to be Bluey's granny persona Janet from the episodes Grannies and Bus. The weapons they use include the Magic Xylophone from the show's premiere episode, aptly titled The Magic Xylophone, the magic asparagus from Asparagus, and the magic feather from Featherwand. The reinforcements include the Greedy Queen from The Adventure, Judo on the fabric swing from Butterflies, and Jetpack Bingo from Favourite Thing, plus a quick cameo from Ooo-Ooo from Zoo. So yeah, I packed a lot of references into this chapter! But what is that 'Amnity' thing talking about at the end? Stay tuned...
That should be it! Despite the 'will return' message, there's still a bit more of this story to tell! Please read, review, and share around, and I'll see you all next time for the epilogue! Stay diamond, everyone!
