Merlin swayed to an invisible tune. Ever since he had heard the band playing in the village he had learned that he loved to dance.

Hunith looked at her son, fifteen years had passed. He had grown so much that she was unsure if the change would be good sometimes.

"How late is your lesson today?" Hunith kept her voice on the lower side that she doesn't startle him.

Merlin opened one eye glancing at the sun. "Almost mom, I properly should be going." His voice was deep and rich.

A person could see that he worked in a village, although his body was scrawny was he a strong young man.

Hunith could only shake her head as she watched him gather some parchment and his quill. "Tell Nimeuh that she should come and visit sometime," Hunith said as Merlin rushed out of the hut.

She could only shake her head at her son. He was a friendly, strong-hearted person but sometimes he could be lost in his head.

Merlin greeted the people in the village as he walked to the clearing. He could still remember a few years ago when they were maybe thirty people altogether, but sorcerers had figured out that this was a safe place for them.

Instead of trying to figure out how to make a living in the kingdoms and surrounding villages, they moved here, together they had grown a lot stronger than before and the village was a lively place to be.

They worked hard to make sure everyone had something to eat but with magic it at least made some of there work easier and the older mages thaught the children to read and write. Those who had more schooling taught them basic maths.

Further, they would learn from there-fathers and mothers how to work the earth, some of the adults had gone to the nearest big villages to learn skills like woodwork and tailoring to bring back to the village.

Nimueh stood up when she saw Merlin, her eyes where bright. Ever since Uther had hunted her people she had tried everything to get back at Camelot. That was until she had met Gaius.

She didn't expect to see him ever again and had almost struck him down when he stood in front of her. He was a disgrace to magic. But she had waited until she learned about the prince, that he had magic and that Uther was punishing his flesh and blood.

For what, the simple fact that he had magic? Something he was born with, that he didn't choose to use.

"Where is your mind going Nimueh?" Merlin could see that she was deep in thought and the fact that she hadn't responded to his greeting.

She forced herself to focus on Merlin. "Just something that I had learned that has me worried, that is all." The frown between her eyes deepened slightly before she sighed and pull herself together.

Merlin's head tilted slightly to the left as he looked at her. "Does it have something to do with what you and mom and dad discussed?" Merlin didn't mean to hear that conversation but he had.

Nimueh glared at him before she nodded. "It has, but it isn't something that you need to worry about." She gave him a stern glance as she looked at him.

Before Merlin could answer she continued. "Now have you practice last weeks work?" She immediately changed into teacher mode.

"Yes, Ma'am." Merlin knows when to treat her like a friend and when she was his teacher. It had taken a few tries before they click but now they have learned a lot from each other.

Merlin was the scenes of reason when she wanted to do something dangerous.

They worked on his healing until late into the afternoon. Just before dusk, she sent him back home.

The magic hummed in the cool air, warning everyone that something is going to happen, whether they were ready for it or not.

She looked at the first few stars starting to shine, her magic pooled in her, ready for whatever would come.
