Chapter 4: Ready for Round One…?

Sonic's voice- So many souls to play with…but hardly enough time to enjoy it!

The smoke had completely cleared, but what Eggman and K. Rool saw was a twisted version of Sonic with black eyes, a toothy grin that looked that that of a shark's, and two glowing red dots in those black eyes of his.

King K. Rool- I think I understand what those warnings were for. In computer terms, a .EXE stands for corrupted data. And this copy of Sonic is clearly corrupted compared to the original.

Eggman- I'll admit, he's seriously creeping me out, but my plan worked! I created a darker version of Sonic. Now we can use him to…

Eggman was suddenly cut off when this twisted version of Sonic grabbed him by the neck and pinned him to the wall.

Sonic .EXE- I should let you know…I don't take orders! Especially not from fat ass retards like yourselves! Now give me one good reason why I shouldn't see if your heads come off like those wimpy bots over there?

Eggman- Uh…K. Rool, a little help over here!

King K. Rool- Why do I have to…(ahem)…if you're anything like Sonic, you want to prove you're the best, I'm I right?

Sonic .EXE- I don't need to prove anything! I know I'm the best!

King K. Rool- Well, there is someone out there who'd think otherwise. Another hedgehog who's just like you…only less sadistic…

Eggman- That's right! You don't want someone else cramming your style?

Sonic .EXE- Guess you have a point. So, tell me where I can find this faker…

(Back at Kongo Jungle)

Sonic and Tails were walking towards the Tornado 2 that was parked in the middle of the jungle. Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong were there with them.

Donkey Kong- You're heading back home already?

Sonic- Well, we dealt with the big bad guy and your magic crystal is safe. Might as well head back to Mobius before that egghead realizes we're gone.

Diddy Kong- Guess that's a good idea. K. Rool attacked because he realized DK and me left for Mobius.

Suddenly, a ringing sound was heard and Tails pulled out a yellow videophone like the one in "Sonic Lost World."

Tails- Knuckles? What's he calling for?

As soon as Tails turned on the videophone, the screen showed Knuckles, only he looked like he taken a heavy beating. Knuckles had a blackeye on his face, blood was leaking from the corner of his forehead, and there were several wounds covering his body.

Tails- Knuckles?!

Sonic- What the hell?! Knuckles, what happened?!

Knuckles- (Groan)…a monster…(yurk)…attacking Station Square…and to make things stranger…he looks a lot like you…

Sonic's voice- Found you…

Knuckles looked where the voice came from as Amy was thrown at Knuckles, knocking them both to the ground. The videophone showed Knuckles and Amy on the ground and Amy was looking just as badly injured at Knuckles was. As they struggled to get up, a shadow that matched Sonic's body was seen on the ground.

Sonic's voice- You can't run from me! You're too slow!

Then the videophone showed static as if someone smashed the other videophone by stomping on it.

Tails- Sonic…I have a bad feeling about this…

Sonic- We better get back to Station Square asap!

Donkey Kong- I'm coming too! This sounds like a serious situation and you might need my help. And you did just help me and Diddy with K. Rool.

Diddy Kong- Uh…you sure that's a good idea? Like Tails, I got a bad feeling about this.

(Station Square)

Station Square which was once a busy metropolis was now completely wrecked. In fact, the city was now looking reminiscent of the level "City Crisis" from another Sonic game. Many were fleeing and several more were lying on the ground with horrible looking injuries. Sonic, Donkey Kong, Tails, and Diddy Kong were shocked at the sight of this.

Sonic- What the hell?! This looks like something out of a horror flick!

Diddy Kong was riding Donkey Kong's back, but he moved to make it look like he was trying to hide behind Donkey Kong.

Diddy Kong- I don't think I want to meet the guy who did this! He sounds like a real psychopath!

Donkey Kong- Well whoever this monster is, it can't be any worse than Tabuu.

Sonic- Let's just find this guy and kick him out of Mobius before he does more damage!

Tails- I hope Knuckles and Amy are alright.

As they passed by an alleyway, Knuckles managed to limp out of there and was still looking like he was in real bad shape.

Knuckles- So..Sonic…

Then Knuckles collapsed to the ground and passed out.

Sonic- KNUCKLES!

Sonic and Tails rushed to Knuckles and Tails checked Knuckles' body.

Tails- He's still breathing. He'll live, but I don't think I've ever seen Knuckles this thrashed before.

Sonic- Where's the asshole who did this to you?!

Sonic's voice- Oh…he's right here…hehehehe…

Then out of the darkness in the alleyway came this demonic version of Sonic. He had pitch black eyes with two red dots, a wide grin that stretched ear to ear, and he was holding Amy in his grip on his right hand while holding her over his head. Amy was struggling to get this evil monster who looked like Sonic to let go. Amy tried to swing her hammer, but caught the hammer with his other hand and shattered the hammer into pieces. Then punched Amy in the gut and she spat out a bit of blood and passed out.

Sonic- Hey you creep! Let her go!

Sonic .EXE looked at Sonic and grinned a little.

Sonic .EXE- Gladly…

Then he dropped Amy to the ground and moved towards Sonic, Tails, Donkey Kong, and Diddy Kong.

Sonic .EXE- You're the one I'm really after, faker.

Sonic- Faker?! You're the one who's the faker! You're practically copying my entire style! Just who the **** are you, anyway?!

Sonic .EXE- Just call me Sonic .EXE. But there can only be one Sonic around here…

Suddenly, Sonic .EXE vanished from sight with his speed. He might've been too fast for Donkey Kong, Tails, or Diddy Kong to keep track of, but Sonic spotted him about to try and attack Tails. Sonic immediately jumped in front of Tails and blocked Sonic .EXE's attack.

Sonic .EXE- I see that fat egghead was right. You really are just as fast as me.

Sonic- Egghead…? Oh, it figures! I should've known he had something to do with this!

Then both Sonic and Sonic .EXE tried to strike at each other with a spin dash, but neither side was giving in. But then Donkey Kong attempted to ram both of his fists at Sonic .EXE from behind. Sonic .EXE spotted Donkey Kong and managed to move out of the way before Donkey Kong's attack could hit him. Donkey Kong's fists made a large crater in the while at the same time not harming the real Sonic. Sonic .EXE stopped and stood on a streetlight while rubbing his finger under his nose.

Sonic .EXE- I see the gorilla packs more of a punch than that echidna did. But what's the point in power like that if you can't hit your target?

Diddy Kong- Listen to this guy talking like he thinks he's already won!

Sonic .EXE- Of course I've already won! Don't you realize it? I am more than just a hedgehog. I am god here! And no one can do anything to stop me! Ready for round 2? Hehehehehe…
