Episode 4: "Happy Or Not Fourth of July!"

AN: I'm finally back with this story. Sorry for the wait. Here's chapter 4! This story is about Ramona's pregnancy, the birth of their children, and the early years of their lives. I'm going to try to do at least until Ramona and Jackson's children are 5 until they get married. They are continuing their last school year from home and then applying to colleges. They are having three babies. ? I've been super busy, so sorry for the long wait.

It's been a crazy three years, and I've been writer's blocked with this story. I hope you all understand. I promise I'll get back to writing this story.

Three weeks after Ramona and Jackson found out that Ramona was pregnant and was having triplets. She's due in January, but will be giving birth at 35 weeks pregnant. She'd be 8 months pregnant and 5 weeks early, so she'd be giving birth in December.

Ramona's bedroom

Ramona woke up by her stomach doing somersaults. She is now 9 weeks pregnant. She got out of bed and ran to the bathroom, knelt down and began throwing up everything she had last night. Only three more weeks of the morning sickness, but it felt like it wouldn't ever end. She sighed as she heard the bathroom door open and her mother walk inside the bathroom.

Kimmy smiles at her daughter. "Hi, honey. Are you okay?"

Ramona sighed deeply, wiping her mouth and flushes the toilet. She breathes heavily as she stands up and starts brushing her teeth and washes her hands. "I feel like crap right now. I wish this was over already, you know?"

Kimmy nodded her head as she followed her into her bedroom. "Oh, I know, sweetie. The family is coming over today for the Fourth of July. Get ready soon, okay?"

Ramona smiles as she nods her head. "I will." She sees her mother leaves, she grabs her favorite shirt for the Fourth of July and her blue shorts. She goes into the bathroom again to get into the shower.

After her shower, she dries her hair and changes into her outfit. After putting her hair up in a tight bun, she grabs her phone and heads downstairs to find Jackson eating breakfast.

"Morning." Ramona says as she opens the fridge and grabs the eggs to start making her breakfast.

"Good morning, baby. How did you sleep?"

Ramona lets out a laugh. "I didn't sleep much. These babies made me sick all night. This morning wasn't a pretty picture."

Jackson frowns as he looks at her. "I'm sorry."

D.J. walks back into the house from the kitchen door. "Oh, hey you two. Jackson, I have someone outside who wants to meet you and your brothers. Can you go let them come outside?"

Jackson nods his head as he gets up from the table and goes upstairs to get Max and Tommy. After getting his brothers, they head outside to see a young woman. She has long brown hair with brown eyes. She looks at him and then at D.J.

"Jackson, Max, Tommy, this is your older half sister, Rayne. I had her at seventeen. She and I have been in contact for the past month."

Rayne smiles at her brothers. "Hey, it's so nice to finally meet you guys."

Max smiles brightly. "We have another sister?"

D.J. nods her head. "Yeah."

Jackson looked at his mother. "Did Dad know?"

D.J. nods her head. "Yes, he did. I told him when we met in 1999. By this time, Rayne was about four years old. It's been ten years since I've seen her until now. Rayne's adopted parents moved her to New York shortly after our last meeting. Your father did meet Rayne…"

Max turns his head to his mother, cutting her off. "Who's her birth dad then, Mom?"

D.J. sighs deeply. She runs her hand through her hair before taking a deep breath. She knew they needed to know and so did...Steve, who knew she was pregnant at that time, but they made the decision to put Rayne up for adoption. They knew they couldn't care for her at that time. Steve was going to college and their relationship was struggling with the long distance.

"Her dad is Steve." She says after the longest time. She saw the look on her son's faces. They were giving her the 'are you serious' look. "Don't give me that look boys. I'm your mother for Christ sake!"

Max looked at her mother. "I may be 10, Mom, but does Matt know?"

D.J.'s face turns sour. She still hasn't told Matt the news that she has a daughter with Steve. She just couldn't do it. Matt and Steve are friends now, but in the beginning, they were both fighting for her heart. Matt obviously won in the end and D.J. and Steve married different people.

"N-No, I-I haven't…" She stutters.

Rayne looks at her birth mother. "Why not? You are married, aren't you?"

"Yes, we are…" She says, sighing. "I just can't do it."

Rayne frowns, she suddenly feels bad for her mother. "Why?" She rubs her shoulder in a comfort kind of a way.

"We have had a rough start before I could tell him." She begins to tell the story of how she met Matt to where they are now. As she's finishing up the story, she sees Steve walking up to the gate.

"Hey Deej."

"Shit." D.J. mutters under her breath. This wasn't what she imagined to have them finally meet. But he is Rayne's father, though.

Jackson saw Steve walking up to them. His face expression changes when he sees Rayne, who is now seven months pregnant with her daughter. He walks his brothers inside, picking up Tommy so his mother and Steve could talk, but have Rayne there.

"I'm here for the party later, but-" He turns to Rayne, and then at D.J. "Who's this, Deej?"

D.J. sighed deeply. "This is our daughter, Rayne…"

Steve's eyes went wide. "Our daughter?" He was in complete shock for a bit before the moment she gave birth to Rayne came to his mind.

Twenty four years ago, May 4th, 1994

D.J. is now 38 weeks pregnant with her daughter, Rayne Veronica. She was in her bedroom, asleep when her water broke. It was after 4AM when she woke up to feeling wet. Her eyes go wide.

"Oh, shit." She mutters under her breath before slowly getting out of bed and heads to Danny's room. She opens the door and walks over to her dad's bed and shakes his shoulder.

"Dad?" She says Danny opens his eyes. "Deej, what's wrong?"

"My water broke." was the first thing that came out of her mouth. "I think it's time to go to the hospital."

Danny nods his head. "Alright, I'll get changed and you make sure Steve knows, alright?"

She nods her head slowly. "Okay." She heads to the phone in Danny's room and dails Steve's phone. Three rings later, and a sleepy Steve picks up.

"Hello? Deej, are you okay?" He asks, clearly concerned.

"My water broke. Meet me at the hospital." D.J. says.

"Alright, I'll be there as soon as I can." He says before hanging up.

6 hours later, Steve finally arrives at the hospital after a stressful plane ride from Florida to California and a one hour car ride from the airport to the hospital. He rushes into the hospital to the front desk.

"Hi, how can I help you?" The lady at the front desk asks Steve as he's catching his breath.

"I need to know what room Donna Jo Tanner is in, please?"

"Of course. Room 225." Steve nods and then rushes to the elevator and presses the button. After the longest time, it finally arrives and he walks in and presses 2. Soon, he arrives on the second floor and after what seems like forever, he steps out of the elevator and runs down the hall to Room 225. When he finally arrives, he can hear yelling from inside.

"I don't care, Dad! I want him here! This is his daughter for fucks sake! He chose to be here for me, and you can hate me for giving her up, but you want the best for me, right?"

Danny nods his head.

D.J. breathes in and out as she continues. "This is what is best. I can't raise her by myself! We aren't ready for this. We're both on two different sides of the damn country! You want Rayne to be all over the place all her life?"

Danny shakes his head. "No…"

D.J. breathes out again. "Then, this is what's best for her. She has great parents who are ready to be parents. I'm not even close to being ready. Steve and I already decided. She's being adopted…"

Steve knocks on the door and opens the door. 'I'm here. Did I miss anything?" He asks as he rushes over to D.J. who shakes her head.

"No, I'm just at an eight, so you just made it." She says, grabbing his hand. "I'm glad you made it."

"Me too, Deej." He says, kissing her head. "I don't know what I would've done if I missed it." He looks at Danny. "Mr. Tanner."

smiles at him. "I'm glad you made it, Steven."

Steve smiles right back at him. "Me too."

Two hours later, D.J. squeezed Steve's hand as she felt another contraction go through her. "Owww!" She screams at the top of her lungs.

Her doctor comes over to her and checks her. "Alright, you are at a ten, are you ready?"

D.J. nods her head as Steve looks at her. "Let's do this." She takes a deep breath as she gives a first push. After 5 minutes, she lays back down and groans.

"I can't. I'm done." She looks up at Steve, who whispers to her.

"You can do this. I know you can. You're almost there."

D.J. moans loudly as she began to push with all of her might. She continues to push for another 10 minutes before she gives a final push and her daughter finally makes her arrival.

She wasn't pregnant anymore. She and Steve both stare at the baby they made together and the tears in their eyes never left.

"I love you, Deej." Steve whispers in her ear. "She's beautiful."

Before she could say anything, sleep overwhelmed her and she falls asleep after her doctor said it's okay.

Steve's eyes widen as he stares at Rayne, who has D.J's hair and his eyes. She had his nose and chin. This is the baby they gave up 24 years ago. "I-I-I don't even know what to say. I'm in complete shock right now." He says, sitting down at the table.

Rayne follows him and she is followed by D.J. who sits next to her.

Rayne speaks up this time. "I know. I've been dying to meet you both for the longest time." She says with a smile. "I have a husband, who I married 5 years ago…"

Steve's eyes went wide. "You're married?"

Rayne nodded. "Yeah. You and D.J. are also grandparents. My daughter, Isabella, who is 6, I had her at 18. Layne is 4, and Daxton is 2 now, and…" She smiles at her belly. "...I'm seven months pregnant with another girl, Avalyiana." She looks at D.J. who hugs her.

"How are you twenty four already?" She asks.

"I don't know, but I've always wanted to meet you both when I was eighteen, but I always ended up nowhere. I had college to focus on and I was pregnant with Izzy at that time." Rayne says with a frown.

Steve reaches over to squeeze her hand. "I'm so glad you were okay…" He sighs deeply. "I can't believe she's right in front of me now. You were just a baby when I last saw you."

Rayne frowns. "Why didn't you two work out?"

Steve sighs as he starts to explain what had happened between him and D.J. back in 1994. "We were just at different times of our relationship and we came together when D.J. found out she was pregnant with you. I knew I wanted to be there for her, so we made the painful decision to put you up for adoption at that time. I was in college, and your mother was in her junior year of high school. I couldn't let her raise you on her own because I was in Florida for most of the pregnancy. I knew I couldn't be there all the time if we kept you…"

Rayne nodded her head. "I get it now. I guess it all worked out. You are still good friends, right?"

D.J. and Steve both nod their heads. "Yes, we are." They said together.

Rayne looks at her birth father. "So, D.J. has five other children, do you have any?"

Steve nods his head. "I have a step daughter, Rose. I have no other children." He says honestly.

Rayne nods her head, and then looks at the time. "Oh, crap. I better get home. I stayed too long…" She looks at her birth parents. "Maybe we can catch up another time?"

Steve nods and stands up. "Yes, that would be amazing."

Rayne smiles at them and hugs them before heading to her car and getting inside. Matt saw her get inside her car and he was confused on who she was.

He walks through the gate and sees Steve and his wife talking.

"Hey, Deej, who was that woman?" He asks as he walks over to her and Steve, who was now running a hand through his hair.

D.J. just stared at her husband of 2 years. She had no idea how she was going to break the news to her husband, that the woman he saw was her and Steve's 24 year old daughter, who they gave up for adoption. She was now starting to regret not telling him sooner. What will C.J. think? Does she know? She knew both of their marriages may be on the rocks after this gets out, and she just had her daughter, Victoria a month ago. How will Matt react to such a big secret like that?
