Chapter 3: The Neighboring Conundrum

I escorted Penny back to bed and laid next to her rubbing her back for a while. Eventually she went back to sleep and I walked over to Sheldon's old room and started to think. I wondered what our child would be like, would Penny want to decorate the nursery, our parenting strategies, among other things. I then heard my stomach rumble, so I prepared a bland breakfast and surprised my wife with breakfast in bed.

My husband is the sweetest. Not only did he sit with me and calm me down earlier, he made me a bland breakfast (my stomach was grateful!) and presented it to me in bed. We ate our breakfast and Leonard cleaned it up. I eventually decided to face the day and was immediately greeted with Sheldon's most annoying knock.

"Knock. Knock. Knock. Leonard & Penny!"

"Knock. Knock. Knock. Leonard & Penny!"

"Knock. Knock. Knock. Leonard & Penny!"

I yelled to Leonard to let him in and I eventually made it out to the living room.

"Morning Sheldon. What's up?"

"Mornin' Penny. Good Morning Leonard. I've come to ask a favor."

Leonard replied with "oh good god. Now what?"

"I need a ride to work. Amy won't drive me."

"Sheldon, it's 11am on a Saturday. I'm not going either."

"Oh. In that case, have a good day"

"Always nice talking to you shel-" was all I could muster before the door shut.

The sad thing is it wasn't Sheldon's oddest request. I looked at the date and realized it was almost christmas! We had been so caught up with baby stuff, and the trip to Sweden that we forgot to get ready for the holiday. I started pulling boxes out of the closet when Penny ran to the bathroom and I quickly followed.

The worst thing about being pregnant is this morning sickness. Bernadette says a bland diet is helpful but it's not a cure-all. Leonard is the absolute best. He immediately got a washcloth, held it on my forehead, and sat behind me rubbing my back. He was even encouraging, well as encouraging as one can be in the presence of morning sickness. He's so sweet and I hope our child is as sweet as him, although not as nerdy.
