Sonic's POV
After leaving Silver with Shadow, Sonic sped through the streets, zipping and zooming through cars and people. This was always super exciting for the speed demon himself. He felt like he could be himself as he jumped over oncoming cars, hearing people honk their horns in a blind panic, only for Sonic to sail above... Within a minute or so, thanks to his speedy abilities, Sonic made it to his workplace... The Sonic Hero Agency.
The Hero Agency was a workplace that specialized in helping people harness their powers and use them for good. Sonic founded the company several years ago upon his sudden rise as a hero to the public. Thanks to his hard work and dedication, he was able to help make a huge difference for everyone who wanted to make a change in the world. Sonic was brought up with a good head on his shoulders. His sense of justice and his ability to keep going even when times get tough was the reason, he wanted to make a company like this. After partnering with several of his friends and a local businessman, named Mr. Katsu, they were able to make this an actual company and it was booming with heroes and they were assigned missions on a daily. Sonic and his friends handled the tougher missions while other mobians worked out the minor missions, like petty crimes within cities and other various things that did not threaten the planet.
Sonic was required to make check-ins with the agency however, as a part of the agreement to become the face of the company, he had to show up every so often to make sure things were running smoothly and to welcome the newbies in with a welcoming smile and open arms... However, this time, Sonic had other plans as to why he was clocking in today... Today he was going to register Silver as a hero.
Walking through the revolving door, he stepped into the lobby... It was bustling with many mobians of all shapes and sizes... It was a busy yet exciting atmosphere. Sonic plastered on his famous grin as he strolled over the giant logo of his face on the tiled floor, heading straight to the elevator... He needed to get to the fourth floor and talk to the recruiters... So passing by several people who all would stop to either, greet or excitedly admire from a distance, Sonic made it to the elevator, pressed the button, and waited.
"Sonic?" A calm voice came from the right, causing Sonic to turn his head.
"Oh, hey Espio~" Sonic happily coos, watching the purple chameleon approach him, standing next to him to wait for the elevator.
"Your visit is a surprise..." The ninja gently comments.
"Is it?" Sonic asks a little, amused as he watches the lights above the elevator blink as the cable-assisted machine made its descent down to the bottom floor to pick Sonic up.
"Well, you rarely show up to the meetings that are held here daily and whenever you do, it's usually within the last five minutes." Espio explains, watching the elevator doors open after the structure reaches the bottom floor.
The two-step inside and Sonic turns around, leaning up on the back wall of the elevator, grinning like a fool. "Well, the meetings are usually boring... Plus I don't really have to be here daily, unlike you and the rest of the Chaotix." He then beams. "Speaking of, how are the guys?"
"Just as rowdy as usual." Espio says with a shrug. "What floor?"
"Four please!" Sonic chips up, smiling as the purple chameleon presses the button gently with his finger, before pressing the number for the Chaotix's floor, which was the sixth floor.
"Four? Isn't that the recruiter's offices?"
"Yupp!" Sonic says with a playful smile. "I got a newbie I wanna volunteer for the agency... He is cool and has some wicked abilities... He is a team player as far as I can tell, and I think he'll do great here."
"...Interesting" Espio responds with a small nod, watching the doors open on the fourth floor... Sonic stands up straight before he strolls past the ninja. "Good luck, Sonic."
"Thanks, Espio! I'll need it!"
With that, Sonic strolled out of the elevator with a speed walk pace, his lips cracking into a playful smile. He walked past several large glass walls that separated many different office desks from one another, the room opening into a giant open-air area with a balcony above with many people rushing about with folders and files in their arms... This was the business part of the hero agency. He waved politely at people who would stop and admire him and watch him curiously since he was visiting their floor.
He then spotted an empty desk without anyone waiting to be waited on, so he took the chance and strolled up to it... The desk stood in the middle of the room, a large computer screen blocked his view of who sat behind it, but he did not think too much about it. He taps the surface of the marble desk and whistles. "Excuse me... Are you who I talk to about recruiting?" He asks, glancing down at the nameplate on the desk, reading it aloud. "...Sabrina~" He beams politely.
Typing stops and the office chair that she was seated in rolls, she pushes away from the desk enough to peek out and from behind the screen. A really beautiful turquoise hedgehog with Fuchsia-colored eyes. Her ears sat at the top of her head, with peach-colored skin in her inner ears. Her quills were neatly groomed back and pulled into a neat ponytail, which several large beads were attached to the ponytail holder she was using. She also had three long spikes for bangs on her head. Her attire was business casual. A pair of black work pants with a nice button-up white blouse that was tucked within her pants. She wore a gray jacket that complimented her entire outfit... Her eyes widen upon seeing who stood before her.
"...M-mister Sonic The Hedgehog?" She gasps, sitting up and adjusts her hair quickly, trying to make sure she looked presentable. "...W-what are you doing on this floor, sir?" She asks gently, genuinely confused as to why he was even on this floor in the first place... The training room was on floor eight.
"In the flesh!" Sonic coos playfully, lifting his arms, as he does a little twirl for her, feeding his ever-growing ego. Once he performs a full 360 turn, he faces her with a flashy smile. "I actually have a request!" He pipes up happily. "I want to put in a personal request for a new recruit!" He explains gently.
Sabrina nods gently, looking up at the royal blue hedgehog. She had always had a fascination with him... Only because he seemed to be a good hero but however due to the complaints of her boss about his terrible attitude... she felt a little nervous about talking to him directly for the first time. She knew he had been working in the same building as her... But she never thought that they would ever really interact since heroes and the recruiters had separate floors. "Okay..." She turns a little in her chair, plucking a black pen from a mug that was only used to hold pens and a stack of sticky notes. "What's their name?"
"Silver the Hedgehog," Sonic says, leaning over her desk a little to tell her anything she needed to hear. "Like the metal."
"Okay, do you have any basic documentation on him?" She asks, glancing up from the sticky pad she was writing on.
"...About that..." Sonic frowns a little, standing straight up again. "I don't have anything on him yet... I'll have to get it for you." He explains gently. "But I can tell you that he was the same guy who stopped Eggman earlier today!" Sonic explains. "He had those really cool psychic abilities and was able to hold off an entire mecha all by himself!"
Sabrina sat back a little, eyeing Sonic hard. She tried to keep it as professional as she could. But unfortunately, Sonic gave her little to nothing to work with for making a file for this Silver guy... and then on top of that... Something felt wrong about the whole situation... "...Wait you mean the attack that happened on 5th street?" She asks, her face suddenly becoming serious. She sets aside the sticky note with Silver's name on it and posts it on the bottom of her computer screen, next to several other sticky notes that had all sorts of different reminders. "...I heard that there was a stranger at the scene that nobody has seen or heard of before... He might have been the reason why the news cameras were all shut down immediately after the fight with Dr. Eggman..." She explains gently, tapping her pen against the surface of her desk, a frown forming on her face. "It's been the talk of the town... It's been all over the office since this morning... Mostly because some people believe that someone from G.U.N. actually ordered that the live feed should be cut." She trails off a little as she lifts the pen up, gently tapping her chin in thought. "... Did this "Silver" guy get arrested by G.U.N.?" She asks gently, locking eyes with Sonic who was busy digging in his ear with his pinky.
Sonic did not put too much thought into the question, he then scoffs a little in response. "Yeah, only because Shadow is a moron." Sonic comments bluntly. "He arrested him and accused him of being a bad guy when really he protected civilians and has good intentions." Sonic pulls his finger out of his ear, wiping it on his leg. "That won't be a problem? Will it?" Sonic asks, realizing maybe he should not have been so honest about the whole being arrested by G.U.N. thing.
Sabrina frowns a little, cringing at the hygienic manners Sonic had just demonstrated to her. She then sighs gently. "Unfortunately, yes sir it will be a problem... Someone who had been arrested by G.U.N. isn't legally allowed to become a licensed hero until signed paperwork is given over by a commander or higher up at the task force from G.U.N." She gives him a small smile. "Think of it as getting a permission slip signed for approval."
Sonic's face scrunches up into a frown... There was no way he was going to go do that. "...Permission slip signed?"
"Yes sir, you could even get your friend Shadow to sign it for you." She turns towards a file organizer on her desk, flipping through multicolored folders before pulling out a white paper with lots of text on it. "It's fairly simple and it'll be one step closer to getting your friend, Silver into our organization." She explains gently as she slides the paper across the desk towards Sonic.
"...No way," Sonic says firmly, pushing the file back towards her. "I'm not getting my arch-rival to sign some permission slip for me." He frowns and looks up at Sabrina, who held back her tongue. "That's like a slap to the face."
"...It's protocol," Sabrina states adamantly. "I am sorry, Mr. Sonic but there's not much that I can actually do for that... Legally Silver cannot get his hero license. So, there's not much I can do on my end, all that I can do is ask you to get this slip signed for me and then I can try to work Silver into the system." She says with a frown. "...Otherwise, I can't do anything else for you."
Sonic stood there, dumbfounded in front of her. He could not believe that she was not much help to him and his case. "My word should be enough to have some say so in this matter... They found Silver innocent of the charges he was going to be charged with." Sonic explains gently, looking down at Sabrina as she stayed seated in the office chair before him.
"...Mr. Sonic, no disrespect to you at all... but I cannot just break the rules and cut corners for a guy who isn't even here to sign himself up. He has you doing it for him," She sighs a little, annoyed. "You're a hero for goodness sake, you should know that people are arrested, are considered criminals, and cannot join the agency."
Sonic scoffed. "Well, I was arrested before by G.U.N. and now look at me... the face of the company." He states bluntly, eyeing her hard. "I didn't need any permission slip signed."
"That was before the law was put into practice... Look, Mr. Sonic I am merely doing my job and that is what has to be done. I'm really not trying to be the bad guy here, sir." She responds bluntly, eyeing him back just as hard. "If you really want this Silver guy to become a licensed hero, you'll get this paperwork signed by Shadow AND bring me some more documentation..." She then sighs, sitting back in her chair as she gently taps her thigh with her pen in her hand. "Is there anything else I can help you with today, Mr. Sonic?" She asks, having to use her customer service voice.
"No. There's nothing else you can help me with..." He says with a frown, he turns on his heels to head back towards the elevator. "I'll be back though with his documentation... But I'm NOT getting a permission signed by Shadow." He then looks over his shoulder, waving goodbye. "See ya later, Sabrina." He says, trying to hide the fact that his pride and ego were hurt by the fact she would not take his word on how good of a guy Silver was... but he was going to get him to be a hero, one way or another...
