Hey! So, as usual, it's been awhile but I hope this finds you in good health. 2020 was crazy! I completely forgot I even wrote this so imagine my surprise when I got an email saying "So and So followed your story". I was thinking of updating, because like many other writers on here, it's an escape.

To KingJGamer- I appreciate the feedback! I understand where the awkwardness comes from but like in the Edo-Arc, I was thinking that Gray and Fang were kind of similar, so I think I was playing up on that. As I was rereading what I wrote, I think I might take you up on your advice :)

So without further waiting, I hope ye enjoy!

I do not own the characters, or storyline. It has come to my attention that I own the plot so lol xD. Forgive me if I accidentally misspell a word or two, or if my grammar still needs work.

The End

Chapter Four

Recap of Surprise, Surprise

Gray's P.O.V

As she came to what, we understood, a decision, her eyes glanced at us and a sigh escaped her lips. We all looked to Erza, then Natsu, Lucy, and then me. We all nodded at the unspoken decision, looking to Max. Hope filled my heart, but I banished the feeling, trying to think rationally.

Come on, Gray, you guys are just trying to help her. Not hook up with her, my thoughts although disturbing brought me to rationality.

Right, we're just being Fairy Tail wizards and are lending a helping hand. I sighed, in what I hope was relief and not disappointment. A quick glance towards Natsu told me it was obvious. A warmth filled my usually cold cheeks, and I took notice of it.

Weird.

Despite my thoughts and whatever that was, I haven't missed any conversation between our group and Max. We looked at Natsu, hoping he could convince her to join us for now.

Max looked at us, her eyes fluttering between sadness, understanding, and uncertainty.

Natsu stepped towards her cautiously, even as he was filled with potential energy. As he took one step closer towards the sun streaked girl, he gave her his smile full of warmth, trust, and friendship and asked her with his straightforwardness, the question we decided on.

"Max, will you come back to Fairy Tail with us?", Natsu asked his voice promising multiple things, but the clearest was the promise of not being alone. Fairy Tail is a family that won't let you be alone, and will fight tooth and nail for you. We were a family, I thought contentedly looking at my weird and mixed Team.

Max looked surprised at the offer, and she looked as she was actually thinking about our proposal. Her gaze caught with each of us, and soon she came up with a conclusion.

"Why the hell not?"

End of Recap

Max's P.O.V

It comes without saying that I fight with myself. Maybe it's about if I should land in a particular place, if I should rest and wait, or in this case, if I should trust these particular people. They asked me to go back to a Fairy Tail? I mean, I already thought I was in one, with all these weird things coming up. I'm not even ON EARTH. But once again, if you can't beat them, join them. Not to say that I can't beat them, I'm pretty sure I could give them a run for their money if push came to shove.

So, what was the harm in doing a little recon work?

"Do you really mean it?". I look over to see onyx eyes and a fanged grin.

I roll my eyes before answering, " Yeah, sure. When in Rome, right?". They all look at each other, confusion clear on their face before they look at me with the same expression. The blonde one, Lucy ,I think she said, asked "Rome?"

I facepalm myself internally, forgetting that , once again, I'm not on Earth. I look at her and realize that her brown eyes had golden flecks in them, reminding me of the stars. I shake my head slightly to clear my thoughts before shrugging, "Yeah, it was this place back where I came from. An empire, we called it.". Lucy looked at me, her eyes filled with curiosity but before they could ask me any more questions, I asked them one. Beating people to the punch, it's what I do best.

"So, where is Fairy Tail? What is it?". This time it was Erza who answered me, her voice filled with pride.

"Fairy Tail is a guild. Filled with people whose magic are all unique, and who treat everyone like family. As for where Fairy Tail is, it's just a simple walk there. About 3 hours, I would say." I nodded, even though I had no idea what the hell a guild was. Guess I'll learn later though. In about 3 hours, if what the scarlet haired lady said was true.

I remembered why I hated talking to people as the conversation ended. I tried to avoid conversation when it wasn't the Flock I was talking to. This time when I thought of them, the pain wasn't as unbearable. Guess revenge is a dish best served cold. The more you know.

Lucy's P.O.V.

As Erza finished answering Max, I was still thinking of what she said of Rome. An Empire! We had them here too, and that's when I started to really wonder about how many similarities we have. I took a look at Max, and realized how haggard she looked.

Probably how I look after Natsu destroys something, I thought wincing at particular memories where I'm sure I looked more like an animal then a person after a pretty hard mission with Team Natsu. I called for Virgo, forgetting that Max was probably still wary of us.

"Open Gate of the Celestial Maiden, Virgo!," I called, feeling the gate open and the slight pull on my magic. Virgo appeared, her eyes emotionless as ever, her clothes and chains still in place.

"Punishment, Princess?," She, once again, asked. As I was about to turn her down and ask her to bring clothes for Max, I saw Max open her wings and take a step back before going into that defensive position again. I looked at her and was surprised when I saw her eyes, once again making that glare.

"Punishment? What does she mean by punishment? Are you hurting her? How the hell did she even get here?," Max asked, her tone making me wince. Natsu stepped in front of me as Erza drew her sword and Gray just looked between the both of us.

"Wait! Don't misunderstand, please. Virgo is my spirit, and I would never hurt her or any other spirit like that. I have what's called Celestial Spirit Magic, and they are my friends, I promise," I felt the slight pull of magic when I made the verbal promise. Max looked uncertain before she turned to Virgo, trying to see if I was lying.

Virgo nodded, looking undisturbed as she answered Max's silent question, "Princess is right, Ms. Max. She would never hurt us, and has even put her life in danger to save us. How I got here though was by Princess's magic opening my gate, and I answered her call by going through."

I felt silent relief as Max nodded, standing up from her position. Her muscles never relaxed though, still on guard. Natsu finally took a step away as Erza also put away her sword, but Gray was still just standing there, which I couldn't blame him for. He tries to ignore situations like this, unless Natsu forces him to fight or argue. I turned my attention to Virgo and asked her to bring some clothes for Max before we started our trek home

She nodded, and disappeared into a gold shimmer before returning with dark blue jeans and a gray tank-top. She also brought a black windbreaker before she went over to Max and handed them to her. Her face went to an emotionless state but when I looked at her, she nodded with her eyes showing appreciation.

Max's P.O.V.

The maid spirit, or Lucy's friend came back from the sparkles show and I was again astonished. I have seen a lot of things in my life, so when someone can disappear in pretty gold sparkles, I'll take that over some of the unholy things I've seen. She came back with some clothes and when she started to come toward me, I became wary and was about to sprout out my wings when I came to the conclusion that even if I were to fly out of here, I wouldn't get any answer on how to return home, or I might run into people who weren't as "nice" as these guys. So I took the lesser of two evils, and let the spirit come over and hand me the clothes.

I took a look over them and decided that it looked okay. Not enough cloth to hide a tracker, but enough to not get cold. Plus they looked new and did not stink so... Small victories, people.

I might be cautious of these people, but I have manners. So when Lucy looked at me, I made sure to show my thanks and nod her way. I left the group of friends for a minute to find a space to change and I heard the maid asking Lucy for punishment. I shook my head and smirked as the thoughts went through my head about the small group of strangers I found.

Life was always going to be interesting.

I put the clothes on, making sure to make slits into the back of the tank-top and windbreaker, pushing my wings through for that small reassurance of just in case.

Walking back, I heard them talking about how Fairy Tail was going to react when they brought me, and I started to freak out once again. Woohoo.

But what if they were from the School and this was just a ploy to capture me again? What if they were trying to kill me and fool me by being nice? What if I actually am still in America? Okay wait, scratch that. The Voice, as much as I hate it, never lied to me. Okay so what if The School did capture me and we're in some kind of simulator? Or we're in Magnolia and this is just some sort of test?

Deep breathes, Max. In and Out. Same process.

I took a couple of more breaths before I walked towards them. Even if this was just some trap, I still had to try. I wasn't getting home if I just ran away.

I reached the group, and wordlessly they all started walking. I followed, not wanting to be trapped and could make an easy getaway if need be. Erza walked ahead of all of us and was pulling this HUMONGOUS cart behind her, with ease. Like it was a Sunday stroll, and she was walking her dog. Gray had nothing except the clothes on his back, well at least until he didn't. Natsu carried a small backpack and was laughing at Gray again, teasing him about being a stripper. Lucy just rolled her eyes, and was carrying this small... blue snowman? He- It was shivering and kept saying "Pun Punn" whenever someone talked to him.

I stayed behind and just listened to the group as they conversed.

Max's P.O.V.

It would have been easier to fly. Probably 30 minutes, top. But at last, we made it. How did I know? Easy.

The sighs of relief as the town came insight. The greetings to all of them as they passed by the town folk. Once again, old habits die hard. So when they started to get attention, I just slipped away but still remained close so I don't get lost. A building got closer the further we got to the middle of the city, and due to my incredible eyesight, I recognized the bird on the building. It was the same one on each of the persons' next to me.

We got closer and I started picking up the scent of alcohol, heard the noise of the Fairy Tail mages throwing punches, laughing, and arguing. The closer we got, the more I felt my instinct go from flight or fight, most likely from that small panic attack earlier.

Soon we were right in front of the oak doors, and with a shout, Natsu kicked the doors open. Poor doors.

Everyone stopped fighting, stopped drinking, stopped talking and looked over at Team Natsu. I came to realize their name as we traveled.

My poor ears when I heard " HEY, EVERYONE. WE'RE BACK!"

The shouts and cries of joy, excitement at seeing their teammate, alive and well, were by far, the worst.

But it beats the alternative.

I felt a jolt and I looked up to this blonde mountain man, glaring at me. I glare right back at him and he narrows his eyes. Everyone looks between us. You could hear a pin drop just before you hear Danny the mountain man.

"Who the hell are you?"
