A/N: Apologies for the 3 year hiatus, and for any errors, both editing and character/ continuity. I haven't watched/read the show/book for ages but figured it would be good to get another chapter up. Finally.
Murphey had some phone calls to make. Several minutes later, Molly came running into the apartment.
"Hi Murphey. What's up? Hey, boss."
"Uh… Hello, little one?" McKay tried.
Murphy sighed.
"Molly, it's not Dresden."
"What?"
"Dresden managed to get hold a piece of technology that could survive magic and now he's God knows where walking around in this guy's body."
"Who are you? Is he even human?"
"That's a good point. You said this thing needed a special gene to work."
"It's found in a small percentage of the population. The gene codes for a specific set of proteins that allow the user to interact with the device."
"And Dresden has it?"
"Well, obviously. I have an artificial version of the gene."
"Do I have it?"
McKay passed Molly the device. It lit up instantly, and a few seconds later, she dropped to the floor, unconscious.
"Woah... where am I?"
"Uh… Dresden's apartment. Molly, are you alright?"
"I wouldn't know. Wait, Dresden?"
McKay groaned and smacked himself in the forehead.
"Sheppard? You touched something, didn't you?"
"Nice to see you too McKay. Just so you know, it could have easily been Zelenka."
"At least Zelenka can read Ancient!"
Molly turned to Murphey.
"Hi. Colonel John Sheppard, United States Airforce."
"You know, that Kirk thing doesn't work half as well when you look like a seventeen-year-old girl."
"Shut up, both of you! Tell me what the hell is going on, and where my friend and his apprentice are."
"They're in another galaxy."
"Sheppard! She doesn't have clearance."
"She can get it later. She deserves to know the truth. Dresden woke up as McKay a few hours ago. He tried to pass himself off as McKay at first, but he's just too nice."
"Oh, ha-ha."
"Anyway, we confronted him, he came clean, and we were actually planning to send a message to the SCG when the tablet thing lit up."
"And you touched it."
There was a pause.
"Yep."
