I'm writing as I go, this story wasn't planned so hopefully it turns out as good as I want cuz I really feel like it isn't going that good so far but you all are making me really happy about it so thank you so much
Elena squealed and jumped up and down "I can't wait" her look suddenly turned to panic "how do I look? My hair? Makeup?"
The strawberry blonde woman next to her looked around embarrassingly and smiled at everyone staring "she's just excited guys" she quickly looked back toward Elena "calm down! You look fine" she whisper shouted
She decided to go with a red strapless, skin-tight dress that shows her back and stops right before it reaches her knees. She wore strappy black heels and carried along her 'for special occasions' michael kors purse. Her hair is neatly swept up into a high pony so she can show off her 24 karat diamond necklace. She looked good even though this outfit is way out of her comfort zone but what if Stefan sees her? She can't be in jeans and a white t-shirt
"Thank you Jenna" Elena smiles softly. She turns her head as she hears a high feminine voice call her name. Her eyes drop on the girls' shiny black jimmy choo heel boots that compliment her beautiful milky white legs perfectly. They drift up to a short, dark green dress that shows the perfect amount of cleavage to make the dress slutty yet classy. She's wearing black eyeliner that makes her ocean blue eyes pop even more than they already do and she topped it off with curling her straight blonde hair so it now bounced on her shoulders as she walked
"Caroline?" Elena felt a twinge of envy at how wonderful Caroline can't seem to take her eyes off of her and she isn't the only one. Tyler and Matt are standing to the side with their mouths touching the floor. It's like she's walking in slow motion to savor the moment
Once Caroline reached Elena she smiled "oh my god you look amazing" she pulled her phone out and snapped a picture that caught Elena completely off guard "happy 17th gorgeous"
"Thank you and you look stunning" Elena said while still looking her best friend up and down. Caroline doesn't usually dress like this, it's rare when she does. She usually wears a plain T and faded jeans just like Elena
Caroline blushed slightly, not used to getting complimented "thank you, let's get inside before the good seats are taken". Caroline looped her arm through Elena's and Elena looped hers through Jenna's as they shuffled inside
"Oh gosh that's a lot of people" Stefan said as he held his stomach to keep from throwing up. He rushed over to the seat so he can sit down and keep himself from feeling hazy
Lexi looked him over and went to retrieve a cold, wet towel "You just performed in front of millions a few weeks ago Stefan you'll be okay"
Stefan looked at her once she began gently patting the towel on his forehead "I know but this is different, you won't be out there with me"
"I know but I'll still be on stage with you, I'll be there" she reassures him with a smile. She hasn't heard Stefan doubt himself in a while, she never thought he would again so it was difficult to see him like this "and besides you don't have to pull out any of your own songs for this one because the school had recommended songs" she adds while pointing a finger at the song list on the table
He nodded his head in agreement "you're right"
She smiled softly "I always am" she teased. Once she was done cooling him down she grabbed his shoulders "you got this Stef, I believe in you and so do those girls out there"
He playfully rolls his eyes and flicks his wrist "they just want a piece of this" he joked while gesturing to his body
"Who wouldn't" she replied, he wiggled his eyebrows at her, making her burst out into laughter. The laughter was cut short when a tall man with brown hair who looked to be in his 20's stepped into the dressing room "Hello , . I am Alaric Saltzman the principal of Mystic High school, I would just like to personally welcome you with these gift cards to pizza hut" he pulls two cards out of his pocket and hands one to both of them. Stefan and Lexi smile at each other then at Alaric "thank you so much" they say in unison
Alaric gives each of them a handshake "my pleasure. Are we still giving away three backstage passes after the show?" he asked with a hint of excitement in his voice. Stefan could tell that he clearly wants a specific person to receive one
"Absolutely" Stefan replied happily "After my first song I'd like to just throw them into the crowd and whoever catches them gets it" he adds. Lexi snickers at his suggestion but wasn't shocked when Alaric allowed him to do it
Alaric nods his head and talks to them for a few more minutes then gives them both one more handshake before exiting. His niece is probably one of Stefan's biggest fans so he crosses his fingers that she'll get that backstage pass
Lexi takes one more look around the dressing room to make sure that they have everything they need "ready?"
He inhales deeply "ready" he opens the door and turns the light off as they leave the room

Stefan stood on stage watching as the audience clapped and screamed at his appearance. He smiled and waved his hands making sure to do his signature move by blowing a ton of kisses toward the crowd. Some girls pretend to catch it which kind of makes him cringe while others just continue to scream and clap
As soon as they die down Stefan laughs into the microphone "thank you thank you" every time he performs he can't believe how big the crowd is. Sometimes he'd pinch himself to see if he's been in a coma for 2 years. "Now today I won't be performing my own songs" he got a lot of disappointed 'awws' "but next week I will" he laughed as the audience began to cheer up
He took a sip of water "I got some amazing information today about today being a special day for someone" Stefan loves when he gets a special request to sing to someone because singing to someone makes them feel special, wanted and loved and that's all he wants for anyone. "May a miss Elena gilbert come onto the stage" he heard a loud gasp, turning his head in that direction he spotted a beautiful girl in a red dress. She had gorgeous olive skin and long brown hair that hung in a ponytail atop her head, her big brown eyes were frozen on the stage in what he assumed to be shock. He guessed that she must be Elena Gilbert. His gaze lingered on her a little more than it should have
Jenna looked at Elena and noticed the state she was in, she stood up and grabbed a microphone from Alaric "she's kind of in shock right now" He looks back at Lexi with worry on his face, asking her what he's supposed to do. "Go down there" she mouths then hits her forehead with an open palm, feigning annoyance and making him chuckle
"No problem" he places his water cup down and adjusts his headset. He hops off of the stage and walks down the aisle to where Elena is sitting. Everyone in the crowd gasped and shrieked as he walked past there waiting hands, hoping that he'd touch at least one
Once he reached her seat he kneeled down in front of her causing her to snap her eyes toward him and shriek "Oh my god oh my god" she said over and over again "I can't belie-" she couldn't even finish her sentence as her mind tries to process what's happening right now. Caroline took that as an opportunity to snap multiple pictures, smiling widely as she did
He clicked a button on his headset that turned the mic off so he could talk to her and her only, well maybe her nosy friend too. "Hey Elena" he whispered softly. She weakly raised her hand and waved "I love you" she blurted out. He chuckled and lowered his head to hide his blushing. So many people tell Stefan that they love him but hearing this beautiful girl in front of him saying it, felt different
"Thank you so much I love you too" he loves all of his fans so he didn't think much into it when he says it to them because he does love them so it's only natural "will you come up on stage with me?" he asked softly. She nods her head rapidly, not being able to process any words at the moment. He grabs her hand and helps her up as everyone stands up and starts to cheer and chant "E-le-na, E-le-na" once they reach the stage he places another stool next to his and hands her a microphone as he helps her sit down. He walks to the corner of the stage to grab his guitar, smiling at Lexi softly as he does so. "You got this" she whispered while holding up two thumbs
He walks back to the stool and takes his seat. He clicks the button on his headset again so people can hear him "we're going to do a little country tonight" he smiled at Elena as the crowd screamed and shouted "this is for you" he announced to her through the headset, causing her breath to hitch in her throat

He strummed his guitar strings and hummed the lyrics before starting "He said I was in my early forties with a lot of life before me and a moment came that stopped me on a dime" He gestured for Elena to continue the song. Her eyes flew wide and she smiled "I spent most of the next days, looking at the x-rays, talkin' bout the options and talkin' 'bout sweet times" He smiled at her after she finished up her part. He was mesmerized. Her voice is beautiful. He's never heard anything like it, it's so delicate and golden. "I asked him when it sank in that this might really be the real end, how's it hit you when you get that kind of news?"
Stefan stood up and held his hand out to her "man what'd you do?" he nodded his head for what felt like the 100th time that night to assure her that it's fine
Elena took his hand and stood up with him before they both faced the crowd and sang "I went skydiving I went Rocky mountain climbing I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named 'fu man chu'" Her voice harmonized with his as if they were meant to sing together. His voice blends with her perfectly, it kind of scares him. He never sung this good with someone since his ex and even then she wasn't even that good
He turned to find Elena staring at him, he wanted to look away but something compelled him not to. Her eyes were so alluring, so captivating, they bore into his more and more with each second that passed. "and I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter and I gave forgiveness I been denying" His emerald green eyes made her heart melt as his intense gaze never left hers. They stared at each other as he played his guitar, playing every note beautifully and clearly. His heart throbbed loudly in his chest as his eyes drifted down to her pretty pink lips, a look that didn't go unnoticed by Lexi. They broke out of their hypnotic gazes as they rounded the second verse, "someday I hope you get the chance, to live like you were dying" he dragged out the end by vocalizing, causing her heart to melt again
Cheers and applause erupted from the crowd. Elena looked out and waved at each of them, noticing some of the girls rolling their eyes but clapping nonetheless. Caroline got up and ran on stage giving Elena a big hug and squealing in her ear but she got kicked off soon after, making Elena laugh
Stefan smiled at how happy she looked. He made someone's dream come true "give it up for Miss Elena Gilbert everyone" the crowd cheered and snapped tons of pictures of Elena up there with him. This is going to be the talk of the town and she can't wait for it
Next up: continuation of the fundraiser, who got the backstage passes and did a certain 2 people feel that connection on stage
