The Olympians were quite interesting an interesting people with a long and rich history. Sadly, most of them were disgusting individually, with a few exceptions. I wasn't able to remember most details from the myths that Mom read to me, but I knew enough to know who I was dealing with. My briefing before arriving here helped me to fill in the blanks. Zeus was essentially the same horny guy as always, Poseidon went along with the flow until something caught his interest, and Hades seemed to mind his own business in the Underworld. Hades was still single, which meant that Persephone's kidnapping may or may not happen in this world. He could be planning it at this very moment! A part of me wanted to interfere with said possible kidnapping, but if I recall correctly, they had one of the healthier relationships in the Greek Pantheon. Who was I to interrupt that? Heh, I guess a bit of Taylor was still in me somewhere, the hopeless romantic. Hades and Persephone's love story used to be one of my favorites myths.
Aisha would have enjoyed this party, and Lisa would have fit right in, gathering information to blackmail people. The good old days. I sighed as I maneuvered my way through the less raging side of the party. I hoped to find them in this world, if they were here anyways. Amun-Ra had been keeping me busy, hunting down Apophis cultists and Seth's supporters for the past century or so. It was bloody work, but I was used to it. I had collected a small swarm of insignificant bugs to spread around the building. Parties like these were usually a good cover for 'important' meetings and the like.
Lets see, some random god and a nymph were having some 'alone' time in the same closet Zeus had come out of, several goddesses and nymphs were in a room doing-
Damn that's both disgusting and unsanitary. I mean, the Egyptian Pantheon can have its moments, but these Greeks are crazy. Shaking my head slightly, I looked around me. Poor Thoth had to deal with the minor gods and goddesses partying with nymphs, I had to deal with those that required a slightly different touch. My time as Skitter and Weaver gave me experiences that most deities wouldn't be expected to have. Being the goddess of the morning sun, creation, and the renewal of life simply made me more unpredictable to my opponents who didn't know about my abilities that crossed over from my previous life, which was basically everyone.
Any cultist here must've been well entrenched, and skilled enough for them not to be caught this soon by me. Most of them had grown content and lax with security throughout the century of me hunting them. I eyed a laughing god. Anyone could be the cultist, possibly even members of the Six Traitors. Everyone here was a possible cultist until proven to my satisfaction, aside from Anubis and Thoth. They both had more than enough reasons to hate Apophis cultist and Set's followers.
Walking to the railing on the second floor, I managed to get a better view of the area. Glancing at the glass of alcohol in my hand, I cursed inside of my mask. I should have brought a straw, but it was most likely for the best. I didn't need Anubis making fun of me for being a lightweight, or get drunk enough to accidentally end up in bed with an Olympian without consent from a clear head. I eyed Anubis from my spot. For some reason, I was reminded of Rachel whenever I saw him, probably his jackal head. Heh, he finally found Thoth.
The excuse to go and mingle with these horny gods was an excuse of course to cover for my true mission. Thoth and Anubis could handle the rest of our official reason for our stay. Judging by the grey nymph that wrapped an arm around Thoth, they were succeeding. Narrowing my eyes, I tapped my fingers against the marble railing. Why did they look scared? Probably the nymphs and whatever fetishes they were into.
"Nice view huh." A male voice said to my right. Great, someone finally gained enough courage to approach me. Turning my head slightly, I was greeted to the sight of deep violet skin, and dark purple hair. Judging by his resemblance to Artemis, he must be Apollo. Another sun god, I had heard of him a few times. Rumors said that he was an ass who became obsessed with those who caught his eye. Thankfully I hadn't had the pleasure of meeting him, until now.
"I suppose." I said dryly. Hopefully he wasn't going to try hitting on me.
Apollo started chuckling softly, before leaning against the railing. "I'm talking about you."
Wow...great pickup line, said no one ever. I looked back to where Anubis and Thoth were. Huh, they were gone? Probably left to go sleep with the nymphs. Ma'at was going to be pissed at Thoth when we went back home if I was right.
"Sure." Hey! There was Persephone with Artemis who was talking with Zeus. It was a bit weird seeing the myths and legends from my world being true here, the Egyptians didn't count since I wasn't as interested in them as a kid. The most famous ones I remembered back then were Osiris, Isis, Set, and Anubis. Plus, I haven't had the chance to meet any of the Greeks since I have been busy.
"Is that a mask, or is it actually your face?" I sensed him reaching out to touch my face, when I grabbed his wrist tightly. Turning back to glare at him through my mask, I had a few ticks I had on me climb up his pants.
"Don't touch me." I said coldly. Apollo tried getting his arm back, but couldn't move due to my grip. Squeezing softly, Apollo's face morphed into one full of pain. Wheezing slightly, he struggled to get out of my grip when I felt someone tap me on my shoulder. It didn't take a thinker to know that it was Anubis.
"Khepri! You enjoying the party so far?" Anubis formed a nervous smile on his muzzle. Tilting my head slightly, I allowed Apollo to go free.
"F*** that hurts." Apollo gasped as he started to rub his wrist. He stomped away angrily after giving me a death glare. Apollo Jr was going to have a problem later once he found the ticks.
"You already know the answer to that." I sighed and glanced at my drink sadly. I could really use this about now, but I needed to be on guard.
"Here." Anubis pulled a straw out of one of his many pockets. I stared at it for a few seconds before staring at his grin.
"W-Why do you have this in your pocket?" I said taking it into my hand. After I finished unwrapping it, I took a sip of the cold nectar in my cup, a familiar burning sensation forming in my throat.
"It never hurts to be prepared for any situation!" Anubis declared, which made me smile a little. I eyed the dance floor. Some pink dude and a goddess with lavender skin were attempting to kidnap a drunk Persephone. Leave it to the Greeks to not be inconspicuous about it. A part of me wanted me to leave them to their business, but another part of me wanted to go and save the beautiful goddess being kidnapped.
I guess a bit of Taylor was still alive within me, buried somewhere in my pitch black heart. I handed my drink to Anubis.
"Hold this for me please." Anubis gave me a confused look, and blocked my pathway.
"Whatever you're planning on doing, I hope you know this isn't our jurisdiction. Whatever happens here isn't your business- don't look at me like that." Anubis glared at me and crossed his arms, my drink in hand. That was true. "Leave the Greeks to their own problems. They never helped us with ours after all."
My bugs told me that they were already outside of the building, heading towards some car. I could still make it if I rush-
"Khepri…" Anubis started doing his puppy eyes. After a few seconds of staring into his now large eyes, I sighed. He was too adorable.
"Fine…"
Anubis grinned and finished the last of my drink. "Good, now let's hit the dance floor." He grabbed my arm and started dragging me away. I hoped Pinky and Lavender enjoyed ants in her underwear.
Too bad I wouldn't be there to see it.
A/N
Apparently Chadwick Boseman played Thoth in Gods of Egypt, so that's cool. I only saw the movie once so I only remember one eye Horus.
Bangtan Taylor is back on schedule so keep an eye out for it.
There's a poll on my profile, feel free to check it ou
