Chapter 4 Avalar
Sean slowly began to wake up with a groan before he noticed his surroundings. What looked like a healing hut seeing several people inside being treated.
"Finally you're awake."
Sean turned and saw a man his age though slightly older with white skin sandy blonde hair and blue eyes.
"Where...Am I?" Sean asked.
"Medical tent. You've been out for a week."
"A week?" Sean asked in shock.
"Well, to be fair you got hit by a huge wave so it's not unexpected."
"Who are you?" Sean asked.
"My name is Luke. Son of Hermes." Luke said.
"I don't know who that is." Sean said making him frown.
"Do...You not know who you are?" Luke asked.
"Other than my name? No. Thats why I left home to find answers. All I know is I was in some temple frozen in ice for who knows how long." Sean said.
"10,000 years." Luke said.
"Excuse me?" Sean asked.
"You've been in there...For 10,000 years." Luke said shocking him.
"How...How do you know this? What is this place? And More importantly why do you sound like you know me?" Sean asked.
"Come with me." Luke said leading him away.
Walking outside they saw several people training.
"What is this place?" Sean asked.
"This is Avalar. For people like us." Luke said.
"Like us?" Sean asked.
"Children of gods." Luke said shocking him.
"Wait you think..." Sean tried to ask.
"Not think I know we all do. You're one of us only a lot stronger." Luke said before they came to a statue of a woman.
"Who's she?" Sean asked.
"That is Athena The Goddess of Wisdom. She made this place for all of us." Luke said.
"So...What is the purpose of this place?" Sean asked.
"To help train your powers. Even though we're only half we have the abilities of our parents. So do you." Luke said before they came to a clearing before seeing several people fighting one man around their age with ease. He had white skin brown hair and purple eyes.
"Who's he?" Sean asked making him chuckle.
"Your not ready to face him just yet." Luke said.
"His name." Sean said again.
"Johnathan Reznov but he prefers being called Reznov. He's the Son of Thor the God of Thunder. Come on I want to show you something." Luke said leading him away.
Walking to a clearing they saw a lake before what looked like men with the lower half resembling horse bodies ran by.
"Whoa! What the hell are they?" Sean asked.
"Those are Centaurs. They're half human and half horse." Luke said before one approached them. "Come On I want to introduce someone to you." Luke said as they ran down to him.
"Whoa. Oh man Korra would be flipping out. Who are you?" Sean asked.
"I am known as Chiron. And we have been waiting for you for a very long time Kruger." Chiron said.
"Me? Whats so special about me?" Sean asked.
"You mean you don't know?" Chiron asked.
"Apparently not." Luke said.
"Let me show you something." Chiron said leading them away.
They soon came to what looked like a house on the lake.
"What is this?" Sean asked.
"Welcome home. Your mother had your father build this place for you." Chiron said as they went inside.
Inside were relics that were kept clean.
"Whoa. This is all mine?" Sean asked before he came face to face with a small statue of Athena before he widened his eyes. "My mother is Athena." Sean said.
"Goddess of Wisdom, War and Strategy." Chiron said. (Before anyone says anything about Kratos and Athena being related might I remind people that all the Gods Of Olympus are related and yet screw each other and have kids. Hell Kratos had sex with Aphrodite and she's his sister and had sex with her daughters who are his nieces. And Hades is married to his niece. Though that was against her will but did have a lover she was related to as well)
"Why did no one say anything?" Sean asked.
"To protect you. You see Kruger you are a more special Half God. To every other God in the world. You are a threat." Chiron said.
"A threat? How? What am I?" Sean asked.
"Your the God Slayer." Chiron said.
"Excuse me?" Sean asked.
"You were born with the ability to not only slay gods but absorb their powers so what they represent doesn't run wildly causing chaos and destruction. You see...10,000 years ago several gods became...Corrupted." Chiron said.
"By what?" Sean asked.
"That we still don't know. But over time they became cruel to mankind and started killing them for mere amusement or sport or other forms of torture. For the Goddess Artemis she made women in a small village give birth to stillborn children. For Hermes he plagued the lands with disease. Poseidon washed away an entire city. Or sent their monsters to do their will. In time...It led to war with other gods who remained pure for 3,000 years...Sadly the ones who did not become infected were killed. But before they died your mother and father had them transfer a portion of their power into you. To keep the balance." Chiron said making him frown.
"Is that all I am to them? A weapon?" Sean asked.
"No. It's not that simple." Chiron said as Sean went outside.
"I'll head outside." Luke said leaving as Chiron walked to Sean who looked at the lake.
"Why am I even here?" Sean asked.
"Your here because your mother led you here." Chiron said.
"I only left my home and my REAL family because I wanted answers. I got what I wanted. I'm leaving." Sean said about to leave.
"It's not that simple." Chiron said making him stop. "The Gods now know you're still alive. And they will not rest until you are dead." Chiron said.
"I have no intentions of fighting any of them." Sean said.
"That doesn't matter to them. You're the only person in the world who can kill them and absorb their powers. Others could yes but then there would be chaos as they cannot absorb their powers like you can." Chiron said walking to him. "I understand this isn't what you wanted...But you are meant to bring balance to the world. Restore order to all. Everyone here has waited for 10,000 years for you to return. You give them hope." Chiron said placing a hand on his shoulder making him sigh.
"What do you want me to do? Lead an army against them?" Sean asked.
"As you are now no. One day you will have to face God after God and absorb their powers. Restore order to all. But for now you must train." Chiron said making him nod.
Later
"Trust me this is a fun game to play." Luke said with armor on as did Sean.
"Damn how the hell do you wear this it weighs more than me." Sean said adjusting it.
"Trust me you'll need to wear it or you'll get killed." Luke said chuckling.
"Wait what?" Sean asked.
"HEROES! WARRIORS! Fall in!" Chiron said getting everyone to line up. "Sean...Step Forward." Chiron said getting him to do so. "This...Is Sean Ashburn Kruger. Son of Athena and Kratos." Chrion said making most whisper to one another while Reznov frowned. "He's gonna need a team." Chiron said.
"We'll take him."
Sean and Luke turned seeing a girl around their age with brown hair in a pony tail white skin and brown eyes with glasses.
"I'm Julia. Daughter of Horus the Air God of Egypt and one of the strongest here. You're with blue team." Julia said.
"Here." Luke said tossing Sean a helmet.
"Tust me...You're in good hands." Julia said making him smirk.
"The game is Capture the flag. First team to capture the enemy's banner wins the game." Chiron said..
Later
"Steady...Steady. NOW!" The Red leader yelled as his team charged at the blue team.
Sean was quick to jump over a few red soldiers before using his expertise with a sword to knock down before kicking another into the tree.
"Kruger! I know where the flag is." Luke said.
"Lead the way." Sean said as they rushed off.
"You guys do this every day?" Sean asked.
"More like once a week since some injuries are more serious than others." Luke said before A red solider attacked them before Sean blocked his attack before kicking him back. "Whoa! Where'd you learn to fight like that?" Luke asked.
"Where I grew up I was trained by the very best." Sean said before more showed up.
"Oh shit sons of Ares." Luke said before Sean grabbed one before punching him down hard before Luke took down another.
"You guys take this way too serious." Sean said dodging a strike before Sean jumped up on a tree before slashing the shoulder making the Son of Ares yell in pain before Sean punched him down.
"Go!" Luke yelled as Sean ran off to find the flag.
Coming to a river he sighed before getting a drink.
Thats when he looked up seeing the red flag.
"Well, Senna you were right. The Patient ones are rewarded." Sean said rushing to it.
Thats when Reznov jumped down in front of him.
"You didn't think it would be that easy did ya?" Reznov asked with lightning bouncing off him.
"Honestly no." Sean said.
"So...You're him. You're the God Slayer? I'm not impressed." Reznov said.
"I didn't ask to be this. All I..." Sean tried to say before Reznov tried to slash him but Sean dodged.
As this was going on Chiron and Luke saw this as others arrived.
"Oh boy. You might want to stop them." Luke said.
"I don't think I need to." Chiron said.
Sean growled as he dodged most of Reznov's attacks before breathing White Fire at him much to his shock before he dodged.
"Not bad. Maybe you are more bite than Bark." Reznov said before blasting him with lightning but he dodged.
"Unleash your true power."
Sean looked around for the voice which gave Reznov an opening and dashed at him but Sean saw before knocking the sword out of his hands before kicking his legs making him grunt as he fell backwards before Sean pulled out a piece of the Earth with great strength much to everyone's shock before slamming it down on Reznov knocking him out.
"Whoa." Julia said surprised.
Sean panted before looking at the flag as everyone else backed off as he walked to it before picking it up making his team cheer while Sean smirked.
Later
The teams were celebrating for the battle and having with food and drinks.
"Out the way folks here comes the son of Athena and champion of Blue team." Julia said as she and Luke dragged him through a crowd.
"Don't do that. It makes me look like an ass." Sean said making them laugh as they made their way to a table with food and drinks.
"Hey, Kruger." A girl said with two others.
"Yes?" Sean asked.
"We're having a little get together at our place later." One said.
"And we would really love it if you come." Another said.
"Beat it Nymphs." Reznov said making his way to them making them scatter.
"Your not gonna start a fight are ya?" Sean asked making him smirk.
"Nah. I used to think the stories about you were exaggerated. Now...I have some respect." Reznov said making him chuckle.
"Reznov is the strongest we got here. Next to me and Luke." Julia said.
"Looks like I got top spot now." Sean said.
"Don't let it go to your head." Reznov said. "Just because you're a Spartan and the Son of Athena." Reznov tried to say.
"Whats A spartan?" Sean asked shocking them.
"Do you seriously not know anything about yourself?" Luke asked.
"No. I grew up in the Southern Water Tribe of the Four nations for 8 years after I came out of the ice in the temple." Sean said.
"Oh thats why no one found you." Julia said.
"What do you mean?" Sean asked.
"The four nations never had gods. Just spirits." Luke said.
"Anyway A Spartan is from Sparta. They're the greatest warriors in all the world. Your father was a Spartan General before you were born." Julia said.
"Huh. So I got the blood of the greatest warriors on Earth flowing through my veins and the blood of a Goddess of Wisdom as well. Theres a dangerous combo right there." Sean said.
"Get your weapons and armor ladies and maggots."
"Oh no." Reznov said seeing two different colored dwarves giving out weapons and armor.
"I could use a new weapon." Sean said.
"No anyone but them." Reznov said.
"Come on Reznov let him pick." Julia said making him growl in annoyance as they walked to them.
"Brok, Sindri." Luke said.
"Hey kids. So this is the one they're talking about. The God Slayer." Brok said looking at Sean.
"It's just Sean or Kruger." Sean said.
"Fine. If your who they say you are. You'll need something that fits you." Brok said.
"You mean?" Sindri asked excited.
"Bring out the Axe." Brok said getting him to do so putting out an Axe with runes on it.
"Whoa. What is this?" Sean asked.
"We call it the Leviathan axe. Created from the screams of 20 frost trolls. Treat her well." Sindri said as Sean put it on his back.
Later
Sean was on his home before Chiron approached him.
"You did well today." Chiron said.
"I had good teachers back home. From Members of the White Lotus." Sean said before sighing. "So...Eventually I am going to have to face the gods. When?" Sean asked.
"I don't know. But everyone here who is a child of a god is not opposed to you killing their parents. They have caused nothing but harm to the world. But you should know what gods you will face. There are only three factions left in the world. The Gods that remained pure were killed long ago after they transferred their power into you. The Factions of Greece, Norse and Egypt are all that remain. Only Gods from those factions like your Mother, Tyr, and Osirus and his wife remained pure but were killed." Chiron said.
"And my father?" Sean asked.
"Kratos was once the Servant of Ares for a couple years before he was tricked into killing his own family." Chiron said shocking him. "Despite all the vile things he did when he served the God of War...He would never hurt his family willingly. And he vowed to protect you with all his being when he was alive." Chiron said making him sigh. "You miss your family don't you?" Chiron asked.
"Leaving them was the most difficult thing I ever did. I can only hope they'll forgive me when I come back. Especially Korra." Sean said thinking of his best friend.
"I have great faith they will when you return." Chiron said before he left.
Sean then pulled something out of his shirt showing it was a necklace of the Water Tribe symbol making him smile. He and Korra both had one on them that Katara had given them many years ago to show the strong bond they had.
"I promise I will come home one day." Sean said looking at the stars.
