A/N: Do you remember in one of the chapters in my version of The Loud House movie , that in the year, 2027, it was mentioned that some tycoons moved into Royal Woods and became neighbors with the Loud family? Well now, the time has come.
Note: I do not own The Loud House.
June 28. Franklin Ave, Michigan. It was mostly quiet. There were birds chirping. It represents quite a happy mood. Although, that couldn't be said for a certain family who let their only son (so far) live far away from them, for a long time, in their minds. Meanwhile, nobody was expecting, what was to come for today, and afterwards.
Lynn Jr. sat on the stairs of the porch, blankly staring into space, a sad look on her face, when suddenly, she started to hear the sound of not one, not two, not even three, but six vehicles, she turned her head, and saw a group of them stopping in front of her house. Three cars, one pick-up truck, and two moving company semi-trucks. Instinctively, she ran off to tell her family. The first car was a cherry red Ford Mustang convertible, the second car was a nautical blue metallic Scion XB, the third car was a glacier white metallic Audi A7, and the pick-up truck was an army green Toyota Tacoma. Most of the first four vehicles had luggage and objects mostly inside of them, while the second car partly had luggage tied and fastened on the roof, and the Toyota Tacoma had luggage and things, and two animal cages with a female black Vietnamese pot-bellied pig with hair on her back, and two others with two female Shih Tzus, in the back. The drivers of the cars came out, and two other people came out from the passenger's seats of the Audi and Scion. One of them, a 25 year old man wearing a yellow shirt that had a cheetah's face blended in with it on the front, and black spots scattered all over the shirt, with black spiked hair on his head, he had well-built arms from working out, he had black pants and black shoes, he inhaled the air through his nose and exhaled.
"Here we are, boys. Royal Woods, Michigan. Take a whiff of that air." He said (voiced by Wayne Knight). Joining his sides were a 27 orange haired man with a mustache and beard, his hair was in a short, straight hairstyle, while the top was long enough, it was wavy, and it was in a voluminous hairstyle, he was wearing a dark gray short sleeve shirt, he had more muscular arms and legs, and slightly hairier arms than the other men beside him, he had a Nova Scotia pattern tartan kilt, and he was wearing black Ghillie boots (he was even the tallest in his group). Another man was 25 years old, he had brown hair in a spiky hairstyle, he had a red buttoned long sleeved shirt, white pants, and brown shoes. Another man, 24 years old, had gray hair in a Poison Ivy League hairstyle, he had four of his front teeth sticking out, he had a light gray short sleeve shirt, light beige pants, and black shoes, and the last man, 16 years old, had tan hair in a buzz cut hairstyle, he wore a light brown short sleeve shirt, with a dark brown silhouette of a running horse on it, he had light beige pants, and gray and white tennis shoes. One more man was with them. A Chinese man, wearing a brownish-gray hat, he had gray hair, wearing a red orange shirt with thin vertical dark blue stripes, black pants, and black shoes. He was handed over something by the 16 year old man, a fish tank, with different species of fish in it. Despite his age, he was 53 years old, he was fairly strong enough to hold it.
"Ah. I have a feeling we can adjust to this rather well." The black haired man said.
"Hey look, there's our new house." The 16 year old man said (voiced by Josh Zuckerman) (he was the shortest in the group) pointing to their new house in front of them. In fact, it was directly next, to the loud house.
"Hello." A male voice said next to them. They turned around, and pretty soon they were approached by a family of 12 people. Most of them were women and girls.
"We heard about new neighbors, and most of us could see the vehicles afterwards. That confirms it." The man said in a happy tone.
"You heard right." The black haired man said, putting his hands on his hips.
"Welcome to Royal Woods. I am Lynn Loud Sr." He soon introduced his family, as he pointed them out with his hands individually. "This is my wife, Rita. And these are our daughters. Lori, Leni, Luna, Luan, Lynn Jr., Lucy, Lana, Lola, Lisa, and Lily. We are the Loud family."
The Louds greeted them verbally, mixing their speech with each other as they all spoke at the same time. However, Leni was locked in surprise at someone.
"Loud family, eh? Well, before I ask about that, let me introduce me and my brothers." He pointed with his hands to the man with orange hair and a mustache and beard. "This is Gregory Preston, he's the oldest. If you ask, he has orange hair because our grandpa on our dad's side of the family had orange hair, our dad doesn't, but he carries the gene for it, I am Brett Preston. I'm the second oldest." He pointed out the man with brown hair and a mustache and beard. "This Regis Preston. He's the middle child." Then, Brett pointed out the man with gray hair. "This is Wallace Preston. He's not as smart as us, by a lot, but he's family." Muttered Brett. "And last, but not least, this Parsley Preston, he's the most youngest. And he's also not as smart as the rest of us." He pointed out the 16 year old man with the tan buzz cut. "I initially didn't know why Mom and Dad thought it was a good name for him. And I still don't see why to this day." However, he could see that his younger brother was surprised, he made an o shape with his mouth. So was Leni. Their eyes were grown. Both families looked at both people than at who they were looking at, and they quickly realized they were entranced by looking at each other. Parsley gazed at Leni as soothing and romantic music played in his mind. "Whoa." Parsley thought in his mind. She was so beautiful. Her eyes, they were so pretty. They felt as sparkly as-whatever was sparkly. Her hair. Oh, her hair, the style of it, it made her look so, glorious. No that's not the word, but it was something highly positive. Her body. Really great body. But here's something Parsley considered the most. "I hope she has a great big heart." He said in his mind. "Whoa." Leni thought. "He looks-handsome." She was mesmerized by his face, to a lesser extent, his hair, his body, and his clothes. "He looks so promising. I wonder if he has a heart as big as his head, or as a watermelon, or even one of those giant pumpkins." They were so attracted to each other for 5 minutes. At the end of those minutes, their attention were brought elsewhere, when they were hearing fingers snapping. Parsley shook his head when he heard Brett saying "Hey, Parsley. Earth-to Parsley." Parsley looked at his brother who looked solemnly at him.
"You were distracted and looking at that girl, the second oldest."
"Oh. Sorry, Brett."
"That's okay. But don't do that ever again. You don't do that if you're going to look for a girlfriend and if you're not keeping your mind under control. Besides, you two just met each other."
"I'm sorry." Replied Brett.
"I totes apologize for how I acted, everyone." Leni said out loud.
Brett turned back to the Louds. "There's one more person I need to introduce." He pointed out the Chinese man. "This is Jin Ai. You can call him Mr. Ai. He is, one of our butlers. Although, he's a man of four roles in where we we used to live. Being a butler, a gardener, a chef, and an organizer. On rare occasions, he can multitask."
"Really? That's interesting." Said Luna.
"Hello." The Preston brothers and their butler said. (Gregory was in fact taller than all of his brothers and all of the Louds, even taller than the patriarch, by a head. Gregory was the first tallest, Brett was slightly taller than Lynn Sr., Regis was as tall as Lynn Sr., Wallace was a little bit shorter than Brett and Regis, and Parsley was the shortest, a little bit taller than Leni, though. Mr. Ai was as tall as Wallace).
"Here's something you should know about me." Mr. Ai said (voiced by James Hong). "I was born in China years ago. Growing up, I didn't have a lot of motivation back then, especially to work in a job that could be so exciting when I was an adult, not to mention, I didn't fit in among my peers for some reason. I learned how to cook and how to care for gardens and front yards. When I was 20, I became a butler in someone's fancy establishment, but my work just wasn't appreciated enough, even with my talents in cooking and gardening, and it took to me 3 weeks and a half to realize that. Over a year and 3 months, I worked long and hard until I saved enough of lots of money, I quit my job, and left my country, flying to the United State, crappy as that country may be in its own right. No offense, and I apologize for my language. Anyway, I went around looking for job offers, and I found a rare opportunity. I was allowed to work in the Preston household. It was only a little bit difficult for me to adapt to living in the United States at first, but in the months to come, I got more and more accustomed to it. I was getting recognized for my talents over time, and I was well-respected for them, especially amongst my fellow workers of all of the different jobs they had. I could only cook Chinese food at first, but my boss was kind enough to teach me how to cook different food, from this country, and other ones. Not only that, he, his family and the other workers taught me how to speak American English, I had to bring an English dictionary with me before I left China. Before I moved to North America, before I worked as a butler, I was drawn to the topics of geography, wrestling, race car driving, and swimming. But half often I would watch cooking shows. On a side note, I was also a fan of Chinese checkers, card games, marbles, and chess (of course I learned about those last two things when I was living in North America). In China, I was an individual. I was a person of no religion for a lot of my life, nor politics. I still don't dwell on being part of any political group. But as I was living in the United States of America, at one point, I was introduced to the concept of Seventh-Day Adventism by my boss, of which he was a part of. I came to learn a lot about it for months. While I live by that religion, I do practice Chinese culture, in terms of language, food, gardening, and martial arts (that last one was something I did, a little bit often). I was even part of the lives of Mr. Preston's sons, as they were born, one by one. For example, I taught Brett martial arts, whenever I had the chance. And that's enough you need to know about me for today."
The Loud family had different surprised reactions to this.
"Okay, now that we have that over with, what's with using the word, loud, for a last name? Is it supposed to be meant for irony or something?" Brett asked.
"Um, actually, my husband, Lynn, his side of the family holds the last name, Loud, mine does not. Our family started out, not living up to it, but, as the number of our children grew, most of them made our family really live up to the name, for years." Rita answered.
"Ah." Gregory said, nodding his head. "Are these all of your children, laddie?" He asked in a Scottish accent (voiced by Rob Paulsen, in his Scottish impression). His accent surprised most of the Loud family.
"Uh, no. We have one son, but he's not here. He was stressed out so much, that two afternoons, he left to live with a friend's family of his, far away from here, probably for the rest of the summer. Said Lynn Sr.
"Oh, that's a shame." Gregory said, sympathetically.
"I, I missed him already that afternoon. I almost could hardly not think about him." Leni said in a lightly sad tone, slouching down.
"And the day before that, my wife and I learned that she's pregnant again." Lynn said.
"Ooooh, really? Well great for you. Even though you have lots of kids. Splee!" Wallace said (voiced by Kevin McDonald), raising his arms in joy.
Brett and Gregory just looked seriously at him, what with his inappropriate last word, behavior and posture.
"Well-thanks anyway, Wallace, is it?" Lynn Sr. said.
"Mhm." Wallace nodded his head. "That's my name."
"Say, Wallace, how and why did your hair turn gray? Did you get stressed out or something?"
"Now, let me and Gregory speak out and explain this. I'll go first. We are the sons of the proud founder and retired owner of robotics company, Horatio Preston." Said Brett.
"Oooh." The Loud family said.
"And why are you moving here?"
"You're going to find out eventually. It all started like this. We are his sons. His pride and joy, for all our faults. We were sharing his life. Life as tycoons. I had worked hard for lots of years, I was interested and motivated to run the company of robotics. I've worked hard and hard, putting in effort, showing intelligence, responsibility, and capability during my college years. Dad was really proud of me. He saw my potential in running his company, he saw my dedication to it. 3 months ago, his time to retire had come, and he announced to me on that day he announced it, that I would replace him, as the CEO of Mt. Preston Robotics. Too bad that in two days, disaster would strike."
*cue ripple. Brett's voice spoke in the background.*
"Wallace was walking in the halls in a high school, during lunch break. He worked there. From where we came from, we used to be living in Oakland, Missouri."
Wallace was walking, he had black hair seemingly having a blank mind slate, as he smiled, minding his own business. He walked straight for a while, made a left turn, then a right turn, went straight for a shorter while, then made another left turn, turned around and entered a classroom, whose door was unlocked. It was empty at the time. All around him were empty desks. There was a horizontally long, vertically short cabinet, with different beakers and containers, holding different chemicals. Wallace became attracted, walked up to it, grabbed two beakers, one had green chemicals, the other was blue, he smiled innocently, and poured the green chemicals into the blue chemicals. Suddenly, an enormous mushroom cloud burst from an explosion.
*cue ripple*
Wallace's idiotic actions had put the whole city in danger. Thankfully, the mayor of Oakland was quick to call the US Army and military. The city was quickly able to be quarantined before the spreading of a potential disease or whatever, and it turned out that that chemical gas cloud Wallace caused was, surprisingly harmless (at least in its own right), and while it was contagious, it only affected humans, not animals. Blood tests and analysis tests were taken on the entire population, and surprisingly, by some miracle, absolutely the whole town was unaffected. Somehow, only me, and the rest of my brothers were affected by the chemicals. And that is what caused Wallace's hair to turn gray. We were tested and it was shown that we weren't radioactive, same with the whole population, the town, and the environment, but after the first month had passed, the government of Oakland had Waffle judged and sentenced to being banned from Oakland forever." Gregory said.
"That totes sounds terrible." Said Leni.
"Now, due to Wallace's lower intelligence than the rest of us, we were worried for him on how he'd live independently." Spoke Regis (voiced by William Salyers). "So, we discussed it amongst ourselves, and we decided we'd be joining Wallace and moving with him here, and here we are Royal Woods, Michigan. And with that, we spent virtually the next two months, packing our things, and a considerable amount of time driving. We're all going to miss Dad, though. He will miss us too. Mr. Ai wanted to join us, out of free choice. We tried to dissuade him, but he wouldn't accept it."
"And well, the new factory branch for Mt. Preston Robotics is going to open up after summer vacation here, anyway. Dad partly saw it as an opportunity for me. Of course, I'm still going to oversee all factories anyway. While we're all living here. One more thing. Dad only sold robots to variably rich people, he doesn't trust the idea of selling it to all classes, what with the risk of war becoming higher."
The Loud family had variable reactions to this.
"Now, I like you people already. I've got a gift for instantly telling about people." Brett said.
"He has a gift, but half often he's right, and half often he turns out to be wrong in the long run about variable people." Gregory added.
Lynn Sr. asked "Uh, Gregory. Is one of your parents Scottish or-"
"Oh, no, no, no." Brett interrupted. "Neither of our parents are Scottish. The reason he speaks in a Scottish accent was, my family and I went on a trip to Scotland when Gregory was 10 years old, on summer vacation, for 4 weeks. Gregory was so fascinated by Scottish culture there. He learned a lot about it and became obsessed with it when we got home, he took it upon himself to learn things related to it, like how to speak in a Scottish accent (in fact, that's all he can speak in), Scottish sports, literature, art, especially Scottish music. He learned how to play the bagpipes. He's practically an expert at it. He even learned how to cook, of course, in the applicable many years of his life, he only cooks Scottish food. And he made his Scottish-related clothes by himself. He bought an instruction book for it."
The Louds murmured in wonder.
"I've been hoping all of my life that I could become a member of a Scottish clan one day. Aye." Gregory added.
"We've had to remind lots of people that Gregory isn't really Scottish. Even I thought he was Scottish at first." Parsley said.
"Eh, Mr. Loud, what does your son, Lincoln look like? Any specific descriptions or traits about this little laddie?
"Actually, he used to be wearing an orange polo and blue pants, now he wears a tan shirt, and light beige pants. And he has white hair, contrary to most boys. And he's 11 years old."
"Ooooh, how exceptional." Wallace replied.
"Agreed. That is so exceptional about the wee lad. Who would've thought? Said Gregory.
"Well, nice meeting with you, Louds. Now, if you'll excuse us, we've got a house to fill up. Needs some remodeling too in the future and a new coat of paint. See you later, spoken for all of us." Brett said, and he and his group waved and said good-bye, while the Louds responded in kind, as they went their separate ways. For the Louds, most of the Preston family had reminded them of the cats, Gordon, Waffle, Mr. Blik, and Pony Bramley, when they were staying in the Catscratch universe, particularly because of the voices. Who would've thought that there would be human counterparts to those four in this universe?
Minutes were passing. The Preston brothers and their butler were getting involved in putting their possessions and furniture in their respective places of their new home. Fortunately them, there were six rooms for each of them on the upper floor of their new house, and there were fourth bathrooms too. They had a backyard too. Mostly everyone was helping the movers settle some things. Of course, Wallace was spending time sitting down in the backyard of his respective room, spending time with his pig, Elsie, and his Shih Tzus, Tina and Mimi, as movers behind them placed fences and an aesthetically designed pig house for Elsie were being placed. Meanwhile, Gregory and Mr. Ai were working together on placing things in the latter's bedroom. Brett was helping to place his furniture and possessions in his room for a while, and once he was done, he went on to participate in helping other movers place other things. He may have lived in a rich family, but his parents taught them to become hard manual workers. He took that detail of life half to heart, his older brother took it more to heart, though, out of all of the brothers. As he was doing his share of work, he was thinking about the Louds. They felt like nice, enjoyable people. The neighborhood they moved into wasn't really upper class. So, with a family like them, there was no doubt in his mind that they couldn't exactly make a lot of trips, away from town. A number of times, he and his brothers would go out of their way to place others before themselves, participating in food drives, the soup kitchen, donating to hospitals, orphanages, and reliable, legitimate, animal related organizations, variable zoos and aquariums. They even made considerably large donations once a year to help feed the starving people in Africa. Horatio Preston sure raised them well. Brett Preston thought about Lincoln. He doesn't know a lot about him, but he must be a wonderful boy, living in a positive quality family in their own right. He'd sure like to meet him. The problem was, he wasn't told exactly where he was. Oh well, God willing, he'd get his chance to meet him. He must be a great fella. Brett got back to thinking about the Louds. He didn't think they've been out of state for a long time in their life. Then he thought about a certain theme park. He rushed to his bedroom, grabbed his tablet and began typing down.
Meanwhile, with Leni, as some more time had passed, she was sitting on her bed quietly, her legs were wrapped around by her arms, in sadness. All she could think about was Lincoln. His love for her was gone, his trust in her was gone, his acknowledgment of her as his sister was gone, hardly anything could occupy her mind from that. How can she make it up to him? She was unaware though that one of her new neighbors was speaking with her dad about the ages of her family. She stayed in her room, thinking for 5 minutes, all of a sudden she heard Brett Preston's voice shouting out, through an air horn, calling them over. The entire family came out to the front yard, and Brett's brothers and their butler were attracted to the noise that Brett was making.
"Louds, I have an announcement to make. You will be very glad to hear that I have paid for flights for all of you to Valencia, California, along with gold plus memberships for most of you, in Six Flags Magic Mountain!"
Mostly everyone listening to this dropped their jaws from hearing this and their eyes shrank.
Lynn Sr. stuttered for a few seconds. "Uh, you're too kind, good sir, but we can't just accept this."
"What?!" Most of the kids exclaimed.
"Don't worry, Mr. Loud I took care of some additional things. I'll take it upon myself to help you pay for lodging for all of you in a hotel, with cash, I can provide you with a cash grant to rent a van, and pay for gas, and I can provide you and your wife an additional cash grant of $365,000. Unfortunately, your time in Valencia will only be for a week. And I arranged your flights as a round trip. And your flight leaves in 45 minutes."
The Loud patriarch twitched his left eye, he was babbling at the mention of that. His wife was speechless. At this point, Gregory firmly grabbed his brother by the arm and cleared his throat.
"Eh, Brett Preston, a word?" He asked tensely. And with that, he pulled him into the house.
"Uh, me and my wife will have to discuss this and think about it." The Loud patriarch stated, as he and everyone else went back into their house.
Gregory lightly slammed Brett against a wall.
"Why did you do that?" He asked in a serious tone.
"Accommodate our new neighbors in seemingly a lot of ways?"
"You don't know them personally, Brett."
"To be fair, we don't personally know lots of the orphans, nor a lot of patients in hospitals, nor the starving people in Africa."
"Well, fair point. But these are people living their lives, and they just met us. What if they don't want to go?"
"Nonsense. I'm sure they'll accept. They probably haven't been to California."
"Need I remind you that they're having a problem concerning their only boy, Lincoln. Did you pay for his flight, membership, and lodging?"
"Well no, but-"
"What were you thinking? He's living far away from them, he probably misses them."
"We could ask them for specific details."
Meanwhile, with Rita and Lynn Sr., who were in their bedroom, the former paced around while the latter sat down on the bed.
"I, I don't know about this, Lynn. We can't just leave, and I'm pregnant."
"Well of course you are, sweetie, but this is rather a generous offer made by our newest neighbor. Even though I did reject it the first time. But he rather means well, I thought about it."
"Our son hates us, he's disowned most of us. If we took this offer and went without him, and if he learned about it, I'm sure he'd hate us even more, regardless how we'd feel. Not to mention, I'm trying to remember something. It's coming up in two days. Nghh." Rita grasped her sides. "But I can't figure it out. Not to mention, I'm pregnant."
"Honey, this is once in a lifetime opportunity. We'd be going to one of the best quality theme parks. And we'd be having fun while being in a different states. We'd be checking out different sights, checking out a park, maybe we can try out a restaurant there. And, yeah, you're pregnant but leave it up to me and the girls to help you not feel left out. And we could keep this a secret."
"I can't do that. There's no way anyone can convince me to. I have to let Maria know about this. Plus, she'd call or text me sooner or later if Lincoln did something wrong. Besides, we still have the weeping willow resort & lodge to take care of our leisure this year. And we have a documentary crew filming our lives. This is too much to take in. I'm going to tell Brett that I decline."
Her husband grabbed her and pulled her towards him before she could leave.
"Now, now, honey, just calm down. Take a deep breath." His wife breathed in and out three times.
"I know this seems questionable and wrong, and, honestly, I can't blame you much. But this is genuinely something new for us. Something our kids can enjoy beyond the usual pleasantries. And, there may be a high chance that our son will hate us more, but, maybe, we can still achieve earning his forgiveness. And, I'll see what I can do, but maybe we can visit the Regulars?"
"Caleb? You'd really be willing to visit my brother and his family, even though Caleb doesn't respect you?"
"Of course, I can." Lynn took his wife's other hand, as he held both of them.
"We may have been the subject of Caleb's criticisms, and he may not have respected particularly me for years, but he's family. I'm willing to do all I can in my power to make sure we see his family, whatever differences we may have compared to them, come Hell or high water. On a side note, what Brett's doing is rather kind, especially generous."
Rita was unsure, as she darted her eyes left and right. She thought to herself for 10 minutes. She was half reluctant and half guilty, but she gave her word of approval. After that, her husband went out to inform their provider, while she would inform her daughters about the decision they made together. They were excited initially, but it quickly died down. They didn't feel so happy. Regardless, they took it upon themselves to pack as many things as they could, while Brett would send PDFs of barcodes and their boarding passes by his phone, as he texted him his phone numbers, while his brothers would help the Louds tie their things down on the roof of the van (Gregory would come later to pick up their van after they boarded the plane). During that process, Parsley and Leni were enamored with each other in thought as they worked together as they got tied down the things on the new van. Once the luggage was tightly bound in place, the Louds boarded their van, did a prayer, and drove off, bidding farewell to their new neighbors who bid farewell back to them. But, most of the family driving away felt two thirds guilty, while Lily on the other hand, was quite missing Lincoln. A white van followed the Louds. Gregory felt that Brett provided for them with such a pleasure too soon, while Parsley fantasized about Leni in his mind, as most of the brothers headed inside. As for Brett, he told Lynn Sr. that he'd be willing to watch their house. The patriarch questioned this, but Brett was supported by Regis and Wallace about this, Brett had watched over 4 different friend's houses in two different years, and so he was quite capable. Brett was told that he'd be given a list of specific things to do while taking care of the house, that one of his daughters would type down on their phone and text it to him, and then he'd text it to him (nobody had time to make a list as they were packing). Of course, he was told that some friends of theirs, the McBrides would be coming over later to pick up the pets. Brett sat down on the stairs, stretched his arms and legs and sighed in relaxation.
"You think you can handle living with the Louds forever?" Brett's attention was drawn by an old man's voice. He got up, turned his head and saw the face of his neighbor's other neighbor, Mr. Grouse.
"I can. And who are you?"
"I am Bud Grouse. I'm the neighbor to the Louds."
"Really? That's interesting. Do you know who I am?" Brett approached the old man until he was close to the fence that separated him and Mr. Grouse.
"Mostly, I don't. But otherwise, who are you?"
"I happen to be the son of a tycoon. My name is Brett Preston."
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Preston."
"How long have you been living next to the Louds?"
"I've been living with them for a long time."
"What's it been like?"
"It's been noisy, I tell you. They don't have the word, loud, for a last name for nothing. For example, one of those girls plays her music so loud, sometimes I wonder why I haven't become deaf. While she was using her speakers no less."
"Really? She played her speakers?"
"To the highest volume? Inside her house?"
"Oh my. That can't be healthy."
"It sure wouldn't be for my ears. Do you want to know something else? There's another girl in the family with the glasses, she throws out unstable chemicals in a bottle, and it blows up. It's happened more than once. All of those times, it would provide noise. On some instances, I hear the oldest of the girls scream? Can you imagine having to endure through that?"
"That doesn't sound like something I'd want to experience. Uggghh."
"Well, you're in for some good news. A previous day ago, I heard the Loud parents were finally silencing their girls for good. Thank goodness. I heard the girls out so many of their possessions in the garage. But for a long time, I've been wishing I would move away from this street."
"Hmm. What's the only boy like, Lincoln Loud?"
"Eh, he's less of a troublemaker than the other girls. Not counting the time he tried to get a sled that I confiscated when it was on my yard, inside my house."
"Wow. Lincoln sounds like a saint." Brett thought in his mind, un-sarcastically.
"But he'll all right. He's considerably mature for someone so young. Also he and his family were willing to help me out that same week with him and the sled, in December 2016. They even provided me a ticket to see my own family. And it was one-way. That's so nice of them."
"Mr. Grouse, you probably know a lot about the Louds, if possible. Can we talk, we can take a walk if you want."
Mr. Grouse scratched his chin shortly. "Eh, I guess. I should be out of the house anyway."
"Great! You can be sure to learn a lot about me and my brothers."
"Oh, how joyful." The old man said sarcastically.
With that, Mr. Grouse and Brett Preston spent their day walking across the street, conversing with each other about the Louds, Mr. Grouse's personal life, and Brett's life in Missouri, especially, his family life, Mr. Grouse was surprised that Brett's dad had run a company that builds and sells robots, those were one of the things he was learning, it was among other things, like Brett's family's personalities, talents, strengths, and flaws. Mr. Grouse found today to be more interesting than he originally perceived. Hours passed as the two men conversed, to the point that the walk had them go into town, during the walk they would take breaks at times, at one point, they were watching a sports game in a diner, and Brett was also learning during their conversation many different things about the Louds. He was bewildered, and slightly angrier about the Louds when he heard about their bad qualities and bad moments (rather the girls). Of course, there was only so much his affiliate could describe. And, Brett still kept an extremely high opinion of Lincoln. He felt very sympathetic towards him. Brett was starting to feel sympathetic towards Mr. Grouse too. Living away from his own respective family for years, and having to live next door to a potentially problematic and slightly disturbing family? What kind of life is that? Today was the latest time, that Brett was wrong on his gift of instantly telling about people that he met. Well, he's going to try to help their neighbor.
"You say you miss your family, is that right?"
"Mm, yeah, that's right. I miss them. I'd do anything to live in the area they live in." He answered.
"Hmm. Well Bud, I'm here to help. I'm going to make sure you move out of here!"
Mr. Grouse became surprised, and he raised an eyebrow. "You're willing to help me?"
"Mhm."
"You want to help me, a mere stranger, move to somewhere that's more suitable?"
"That's right. That's exactly what I'm going to do."
"There's not a chance." The old man said hopelessly. "The real estate agent wouldn't decide to sell my house, what with the people I live next to."
"People don't say things like, 'nothing's impossible with God" for nothing.' God willing, I will do all that I can in my power, to make sure you move out, and be a lot closer to your family. Let's do this. You go home if you want. I'm going to hear some more information about, and then I'll do some research with the real estate agency, after I learn yours." And so, Mr. Grouse went home, while Brett Preston went around the town of Royal Woods, and the suburbs too, asking so many different people about the Louds. There was only so much he could hear, but among the things he heard, he was told some bad things about the girls, especially from a grocery store manager about the girl's destruction in his store. Brett was seething at the teeth when he heard that afterwards. Another example was him hearing about the girls causing a ruckus at night when they were fighting, on account of bringing their friends over. The cherry on the top was when he heard from an Ace Savvy fan that the girls had a part in initially stealing a group of superhero characters from him and his best friend, along with the box-office bombing of that movie. Brett was shocked from hearing the first part. He didn't really watch the movie, but he saw countless harsh reviews on the Internet. He could only imagine how those boys were feeling when they were likely bashed by people during the premiere. He felt sorry for them. And before this, Lincoln and his friend were victims of copyright infringement? What?! Brett growled from the thought of that. Those girls he met hours ago didn't look or seem like such good people after all, in spite of the positive things he heard from a number of people he asked around. Not to mention, he's heard several statements concerning their parents not doing enough about their misbehavior in their own words. He was now feeling anger, contempt and apathy for most of them, Lily notwithstanding. What did Lincoln do to deserve all of this general crap? Now, Brett has heard a few negative things about Lincoln from a minority of people, but he put those aside. He wasn't willing to believe Lincoln wasn't a saint, but he was willing to believe that Lincoln was living with bad influences. To him, most of the Louds were self-righteous wolves in sheep's clothing. There's no way his youngest brother should start a relationship with Leni, lest she screw him over somehow. And to think he financially accommodated those people he met for a trip to California and other things in the first place. He shook his head. For now, he'd have to focus on helping Mr. Grouse move out for good. He went back to the loud house and was writing down a motivational speech on a page on a notebook he used, thinking on things to say at the same time as well, making some modifications too, he called the real estate agency, and discussed on selling Mr. Grouse's house. When he was denied the chance for the old man's house to be sold, Brett read on his piece of paper the long speech he had made. It was so motivational, that the rappers on he was calling was moved and set up an appointment for 3:45 PM, today. Now, motivational speeches were actually a rare thing that Brett could accomplish. This was his latest successful attempt. Brett and Mr. Grouse spent time tidying up the house for presentation, then when they were done, they spent the rest of their little remaining time watching a sports game, until the real estate agent (a man) came at the appointed time. Brett and Mr. Grouse played to their strengths, speaking out in words that would appeal to the agent's better nature, when they would speak. An amount of time passed as they presented the entire house to the agent, and the agent looked around the exterior of the house. At the end of it all, after Mr. Grouse was asked some questions and he answered them, the agent declared that this house was up for sale. Once he left, Brett looked for some affordable houses that Mr. Grouse could live in, in the area where his family was. It took a while, but Brett found a house that was conveniently only around the corner from the house where Mr. Grouse's family was. Brett let Mr. Grouse take care of buying the house, while teaching him how to use a tablet. Once the appointment was made for Mr. Grouse to see another real estate agent for his new house, he called a moving company to empty his house, they came over, Brett joined in on helping them load the truck, while Mr. Grouse stood by his car, looking at his house in silence. Time had passed, and the loading was nearly over. Wow. This was it. The day had come for him to live away from his neighbors. He'd start over again. Somewhere, where he can live that he can appreciate. By some miracle, he finally got that chance. But then, he looked over at the loud house. Something was lighting up in his heart. He was having some good memories too. By now, Brett Preston came over. "Hey there, Bud. You should get inside the car. Are you excited to be leaving?"
"Eh, I was at first. But now-"
"What do you mean but now?" Brett asked.
"Don't get me wrong. It's great that I can go somewhere that's more suitable and enjoyable and whatnot. But now—-suddenly, I feel like I'm going to miss living here." Mr. Grouse was immediately having his mind swarmed with thoughts about him dressed up as Santa Claus, he and Lincoln having a positive moment when the latter learned he had a family, and he and Lynn Jr. bonding over sports games.
But Brett acted quickly. "Well, I can see that you're going down memory lane, but remember, you paid for this move and the new house, and if you don't get going now, you're going to regret it." He encouraged.
"Oh, well, uh-you're right. I guess this is good-bye, Mr. Preston." Mr. Grouse said, mostly reluctantly.
"Oh no, no, no. There's no Mr. Preston. Please, call me Brett."
"Well then, good-bye, Brett. I hope I can remember you."
In response, Brett quickly rushed off, came back with a pen and his notebook, wrote down on it, ripped off the page, handed it to Mr. Grouse, the page had his name and phone number on it, he lent the pen and notebook to the old man, who wrote down his name and phone number on another page, and he gave those to him.
"Thanks for everything. For a rich man, you were enjoyable. So long. We should visit each other. Maybe you can visit me at least a little bit often."
"God willing, rest assured that that'll happen. So long, Bud." The two men waved good-bye to each other, Brett went out onto the sidewalk while Mr. Grouse got into his car, started it, and drove away, followed by the moving truck.
As Brett watched as the two vehicles drove away to his right, he turned his head and was surprised when he saw his brothers and Mr. Ai standing there on the other side of the fence. Most of them were looking blankly at him, but Gregory and Regis were glaring at him, and the former had his arms crossed.
"Oh, hi, guys. So, uh, how was your day?" He asked.
"I had hours of fun with my animal daughters." Wallace said.
"I spent time with Mr. Ai when we were watching TV." Parsley said.
"Other than that, we were busy helping the movers place our things in our new house, also, me and Gregory were looking for job openings (only I got a job so far, as a TV repairman), Gregory has an interview appointment for another week, unlike you, from what you told Gregory on the phone hours ago, you were out for most of the day, spending time with an old man, who you only met for today. And he's moved away. Not to mention you didn't wait for the McBrides to come and pick up the pets. At least you told us to take over, either individually or as a whole, in case that happened."
"And you said you'd tell me later about the following. Well, we're here now. Exactly why weren't you here for most of the day?"
"Eh, I'll tell you all about that. Right now, we need to get inside the house. This concerns the old man, Mr. Grouse, and our neighbors, the Louds. I heard some interesting things about them. You guys better get comfortable. This is going to take probably almost an hour."
"This had better be good." Said Regis, as he and everyone else went inside the house.
Later that night, while everyone was asleep, a group of 15 thieves arrived to 1216 Franklin Ave in a red van and a dark green pick-up truck, they came out, one of them tried to open the front door, but it was locked, then they went over to the garage, they were all wearing ski masks, black suits, gloves, and black shoes. One of them cut a hole in one of the windows of the garage door, grabbed it before it fell off, climbed in, removed the door locks for the large door, and opened it, the thieves went in, they took out the boxes that were inside, placing them onto the vehicles, one by one, one of them glued the glass piece back into place after closing it, placed the door locks back on, unlocked the smaller door and locked it after coming out, joined the others, and they drove off.
A/N: Believe it or not, there isn't meant to be similarity to nor with the Simpsons, in terms of the Flanders, nor Groundskeeper Willie. We've come full circle with the mentioned tycoons in my first story, and Mr. Grouse being mentioned to have moved away. I'll put the rest of the Prestons and Mr. Ai to more use in later episodes.
