So... who else is pissed and angry by Elizabeths choice in the show? Well I am! Anyway here goes... enjoy!
Allie saw the door open and Elizabeth walked in and she was furious.
Allie: How could you? How dare you come here and show your face. Get out! Leave! Now!
Nathan: Allie, I know you are upset at Mrs. Thornton right now, but please be respectful.
Allie: Upset? I am not upset! I am angry and furious and you should be also. Why are you so calm right now?
Nathan: Look Allie, I get it, you are hurting. You feel betrayed by Mrs. Thornton and you do not want her to hurt me again.
Elizabeth looked down ashamed when she heard Nathan mention the fact that not only had she hurt Allie, but she had hurt him as well and it was making her disgusted by her own actions and she really wanted to apologize, make it right between them.
Elizabeth: Allie, I know you are just trying to protect your dad, but please can I just have one more private conversation with him.
Allie: No! you can not. Whatever you want to say to him, will have to be said in front of me as well.
Nathan: I appreciate your unwavering love and support young lady but I would like to hear Mrs. Thornton out alone please.
Allie: Fine I'll leave but I am only giving you 5 minutes and then I'm coming back inside.
Elizabeth began to panic. This was not going as she had hoped it would. And she had set up a whole nice meal for Nathan. She not only wanted a conversation with him. She wanted to spend time with him. Real time, just the two of them. Alone. But before she could say anything Nathan responded to Allie.
Nathan: Mrs. Thornton and I will be having a quick conversation away from the jail. When we are done we will return here. I would like you to stay here until we do come back.
Allie: Why do you need to leave? Why is me walking outside not good enough?
Nathan: Because I don't need you listening into the conversation from outside either.
Allie: That was my plan
Nathan: Of course it was.
Nathan turned towards Elizabeth
Nathan: I would love it if you would be able to take a walk with me for a little, as long as you are still up for it.
Elizabeth: It would be my honor.
Nathan and Elizabeth left the Jail and walked outside in companionable silence. They continued on until they reached the spot that Elizabeth had so lovingly set up for the two of them.
Nathan: You did this for us?
Elizabeth: Of course I did.
Nathan: Why?
They both sat down on the blanket and then Elizabeth looked straight into Nathans eyes and answered.
Elizabeth: Because I love you.
Nathan looked away unsure of where this conversation was headed. He still had no idea where her head was at and as much as he hoped that she would continue saying what he so badly needed to hear he decided not to respond and just let her finish.
Elizabeth: I'm so sorry Nathan, for everything. For the way I treated you and Allie, for hurting you, for not responding when you told me how you felt about me. For not opening up my heart and allowing myself to love again, but most of all for being untruthful. I was so afraid of losing you that I built a wall around my heart refusing to let you in. I was unable to see that regardless of your job, we could still have a beautiful life together. All I kept seeing every time I imagined being with you was standing at the graveyard facing Jack's grave stone… and yours. And I just couldn't get past that, remove that image from my head. Until now that is. I finally realized how much I love you, how much I am in love with you. Nathan I want everything you want. I want to be with you, have a family with you, spend the rest of my life with you but I'm so sorry that I thought I would be better off trying to fall in love with someone who had a less dangerous job and could promise me security in the knowledge that I will not lose a second husband, which is why I chose to be with Lucas.
Before Elizabeth knew what was happening Nathan stood up and started to briskly walk away. Elizabeth was completely confused. He had agreed to coming here and she had set it up so beautify. She thought she had properly explained her intentions so why was he running away without so much as a comment to what she had just told him. Elizabeth decided to try and run after him.
Elizabeth: Nathan, Nathan, Nathan stop! Nathan what happened? Nathan come back!
Nathan didn't even turn around, and by this point he was so far away from her that Elizabeth could barely see him anymore.
Elizabeth was utterly confused and traumatized. Here she was moments after telling Nathan that she was in love with him, wanted to be with him, grow old together with him and yet he had completely run off. Elizabeth had no clue what went wrong. What did she say to make him react like this. He hadn't give her a single reaction. No smile, nothing in his face told her what he felt about her confession except for the fact that he had run away and it didn't appear to Elizabeth that she had scared him off by being completely open and honest with him. She could feel that it was something else that was bother him. Elizabeth sat down on the blanket and cried.
Elizabeth: Jack, oh Jack. Where are you when I need you the most? I have no clue what happened just now, what it was I sad that hurt Nathan again. I had promised myself that I would never hurt him again and yet here we are once again.
Elizabeth decided to eat some of the food she had gotten prepared for the two of them before she slowly cleaned everything up and walked back into town. She decided to first go home give Jack a hug, put down her stuff and then attempt to talk to Nathan and figure out what had happened.
Meanwhile, Nathan quickly ran up the steps to the jail, two at a time, barged in to find Allie sitting at his desk reading a book.
Nathan: Get up
Allie: Huh?
Nathan: You heard me! Get up where leaving.
Allie: Leaving? Leaving where
Nathan: Hope valley. Lets go!
Allie: Where are we going to?
Nathan: I don't know Allie, anywhere but here. I can't stay here anymore.
Allie: Uncle Nathan, what happened.
Nathan: lets just say you were right about Mrs. Thornton.
Allie: She chose Lucas?
Nathan: Mr. Bouchard. And yes.
Allie: I'm sorry Uncle Nathan, I really am. You want to talk about it?
Nathan: No I don't. Now hurry up. I really want to get out of here before it gets dark again.
Nathan and Allie quickly and quietly packed up their stuff from the jail and then made their way to their home to gather up some last minute items before heading out of town.
When Elizabeth had gotten home, Jack wasn't feeling well so she stayed longer than she had wanted to. Finally when Jack was sleeping and Laura assured her they would be okay for a while Elizabeth left her home and walked up the jail. The jail was unusually quiet, and nobody answered her knock. Elizabeth tried the door and was surprised to find it unlocked so she let herself in. Elizabeth was shocked to find the jail completely empty. All of Nathan's personal items had been removed. She quickly walked around the office and as she was about to leave she spotted an envelope on Nathan's desk with her name on it. Elizabeth picked up the envelope, and took out the letter and began to read.
To my dearest Elizabeth. I am unsure of what to say, and how to say them, but I will try my best. When I met you for the first time, you completely took my breath away. The more time we spent together the more in aww of you I became. Eventually though as you are well aware, I fell in love with you. I love you so much Elizabeth. It was hard for me watching you every day with Lucas. I knew that you just needed time to come to terms with the situation. To allow yourself to love me back the way I loved you, so I stayed silent. Watched as you became closer and closer to Lucas, and as you pushed me away. I was really upset when Allie got hurt by your actions as well, but I understood. I knew that you were still trying to process the loss of Jack and having another Mountie take his place was confusing for you.
When you came by to me today, in my heart of hearts I had hoped that today would finally be the day that you would take your guard down and you would let me in. I was more sure than ever that you would tell me you loved me, tell me we could be together and as I sat there listening to you talk, my heart swelled with happiness I was so excited. I really appreciated the kind gesture of making this hard conversation take place in a clam peaceful setting, I just wish that you wouldn't have made it look so romantic when you came to tell me you had chosen to be with Lucas and not me. Which is why I have decided to accept the promotion to inspector. Allie and I decided to leave tonight to get to my new post before morning as they need me there tomorrow.
Elizabeth I want you to know how much I love you and admire you. You are one of the sweetest, kindest most amazing women and I wish you nothing but continued happiness with Lucas.

So please dont hate me for this chapter... I do love Nathan and Elizabeth... but I also wanted Elizabeth to learn a little lesson... which was the point of this chapter. I am hoping to give this story 1 more chapter after this.
