"Thanks for your help Myra, I felt like I couldn't touch any of her things without crying," came the voice of Saiyuri as Myra moved the last box of Suki's belongings out to the moving truck.
"It's no problem Saiyuri," she responded stopping a foot away from the younger woman.
Myra looked up at the house she had visited so often that it became a second home to her. Now it was just another building that held a lot of her precious memories.
The moments she shared with Suki would haunt Myra forever, but she knew it was nothing compared to losing a parent. Saiyuri's next question pulled her from her thoughts.
"Was there anything of her's that you wanted to keep?"
Myra shook her head still staring at the two story house before her. "No. I have my memories to keep me company."
"The things you say are so wise." The comment caused Myra to look down at the shorter woman and she couldn't help the feeling of her heart skipping a beat.
"Thanks…" Scratching the back of her head Myra continued, "Guess I'll leave now."
Turning to walk away from Saiyuri she had no choice but to stop when she felt a hand in her's. "Why are you still being so awkward around me?"
Instead of looking at Saiyuri, Myra starred at their hands. While Myra wasn't huge or massive in her appearance she was bigger than Saiyuri in every way. And having her tiny hand in hers made it even more apparent.
"You don't realize how much you look and sound like her do you?" The words came out before Myra had a chance to think about them.
"I can't help that I look like this-"
"I know that-"
"Then look at me, please."
Myra turned to face Saiyuri and looked directly into her eyes. She didn't bother to remove her hand from the short woman's grip.
"I can't be your friend Sai-" Saiyuri interrupted her before she could finish, "What do you mean? Why not?"
"Your mom wanted nothing but the best for you… and the best thing for you is me not being a part of your life anymore-" "What are you trying to say Myra?"
"Saiyuri, I can't be around you! I still have moments when I lose myself and become…an actual monster."
Realization finally struck. "You think that staying away from me will keep me safe?"
"Yes." Myra said with a wave of relief that Saiyuri finally understood.
"I read the police reports-" "The police don't even know everything, so what makes you think you do?" Myra stepped forward towering over the young woman but Saiyuri held her ground.
"I don't need to know everything. I watched you with my mom for almost ten years there's obviously some good in you-"
"No. I'm not as nice as I was around your mom. That was just for her…because I loved her."
"Could you treat me in a similar way? But, love me as a close relative instead of a lover?"
Myra could understand Saiyuri wanting to keep her close, deep down she wanted to be closer to Saiyuri as well, but only because she was related to Suki. At the same time Myra knew herself better than anyone and if she kept coming around eventually Saiyuri would end up dead because of it. "Trust me you don't want to get the same treatment as my family," Myra said in a low even tone.
"Oh-that's right, mafia," Saiyuri looked down at the ground trying to find the right words to say next.
Thankfully Myra's phone began to ring and the building tension stalled due to the noise. Pulling it out of her pocket she saw the name Kyo and pressed the answer key turning away from Saiyuri and releasing her hand.
"What's up?"
"I found him."
"Good. I'll meet you at the usual place in an hour." She hung up and looked back down at Saiyuri. "I should go," Myra said quickly turning away from Saiyuri once again.
Myra was almost to the main gate when Saiyuri finally spoke. "Wait…" Saiyuri didn't expect Myra to stop walking but she did. Myra didn't turn around instead waiting to hear what she had to say.
"Whether you like it or not, you and I are more like family than anyone else," Saiyuri practically yelled because of the distance. Of course she didn't have to because Myra could hear her regardless.
"I don't have anyone else," Saiyuri practically whispered the last part to herself.
Myra breathed in before responding in hopefully a harsh tone. "Sounds like you need to get out more. Go on a date, make some friends, but whatever you do, don't try to contact me anymore." With those words Myra was gone.
Myra entered the semi empty club and noticed that Kyo was already waiting for her. She sat in the booth they always occupied and moved in close to him, waiting for him to tell her what he'd found out.
"The guys name is D, use to be a middle man 'til he heard about their boss. Apparently he made himself a makeshift leader and a lot of the other members are following him."
"That's it?" Myra asked somewhat surprised at the lack of information.
"He's thirty-six, no wife or kids, and a list of priors similar to mine."
"Did you see him for yourself?" She turned her head to finally look at his face.
"Yeah. Tall, about six feet, short black hair and a dragon tattoo on his neck."
"Anything else I need to know?"
"When I saw him he was in the northern district. I couldn't pinpoint his hideout but I can only assume it's in that region."
Myra nodded her head. She could work with that, "Good work Kyo. For now we will halt our frontal assault until I can have a word with this D."
Kyo was confused as to why she was intent on doing this solo. He was her right hand for a reason. 'But ever since that happened she's been keeping her distance from me.' "You really should let me come with you-"
"Out of the question."
"Just because you're a boss doesn't mean you have to do everything by yourself."
"I know that. No one knows better than me the importance in trusting your comrades." She put her hand on his shoulder, "And I trust that you'll follow my orders."
"Yes Mistress," He said calling her by the nickname everyone in the family used for her. The name put a small smile on her face which was gone too quickly but Kyo still noticed.
"Good. I'll call you when it's time for the next phase." She stood quickly from the booth and disappeared into the crowd.
Myra sat on the roof of the building for the Hero Commission. Hawks was inside and she was sure that they where the one's giving him the orders. Who else could send a top hero after the League anyway? The cops sure as hell couldn't afford it.
Looking out at the night sky she pulled her phone from her pocket and dialed Dabi's number. When she heard the click of him answering she started "I found what you where looking for."
"Such quick results, I'll come by tomorrow." she nodded even though he couldn't see her and hung up the phone.
As she slipped the phone back into her pocket she stood and took in the sights before leaping off the building and making her way towards the northern district.
Myra knew all the areas like the back of her hand. Having lived here for over a hundred years she had no choice. Plus being a boss meant knowing where everything was.
She was close to a club that used to be a hot spot during the prohibition era, but was now mostly used as a hang out for low level gangs.
Myra opened the door and stepped inside. All eyes turned to look at her as she made her way to the bar. Sitting in an empty seat away from everyone all eyes stayed on her, because to them she was a new face. And everyone knows a new face normally brings trouble.
"Can I get you something?" Asked the bartender in a not so nice voice. He was middle aged with short dark hair and eyes to match.
"Let me get a whiskey straight," Myra said reaching into her breast pocket to pull out a metal cigarette case. Opening it she pulled out a half smoked blunt and brought it to her lips.
The bartender sat the drink in front of her and before he could walk away she said, "One more thing, I'm looking for someone. Goes by the name D, got a dragon tattoo on his neck. Sound like anyone you know?" She asked using the lighter that was part of the cigarette case to light the cigarillo hanging from her lips.
"Nope." His voice was even but the answer was too quick. He was lying.
'Guess this D is protecting this place…or using it for "business."'
Taking a long drag she inhaled the smoke and slowly blew it into the face of the bartender who still stood in front of her.
All eyes where still on her as she picked up the glass and brought it to her lips. Finishing the drink in one gulp she slammed the cup onto the counter. Bringing the blunt back up to her lips she reached into her back pocket for her wallet. Pulling out a couple bills she threw them onto the counter and stood to leave.
Myra wasn't expecting to get answers, she simply wanted to cause a stir before making an appearance. She knew that someone in that bar would pass along her message. 'Word always travels faster this way.'
"Has anyone heard from Myra?" Asked Spinner.
Every League member except Myra and Shigurake where present as they where supposed to be discussing something today.
"She's looking into something for me," came the bored voice of Dabi as he slouched on the moth eaten couch.
"She's not your personal lapdog Dabi-" argued Spinner who was interrupted by Mr. Compress, "It better be important."
"Oh, trust me, it is," Dabi grinned almost laughing at his own joke.
"Spinner if you need something from her, you should just call her. That is the beauty of cellphones!" Came the two voice of Twices' personality.
"I don't need anything from her…I was just curious because she hasn't come around in awhile."
"It's only been two weeks. Besides Myra is a busy girl-" Toga tried to stick up for her new found female friend at the same time Twice interrupted her. "That's right! Killing people for a living isn't easy!"
Out of nowhere everyone heard the disembodied voice of Myra, causing all of them to flinch. "No need to talk about me like I'm completely heartless."
"Shit!" "Fuck man!"
"You gotta stop doing that."
Myra smirked stepping into the room, "But it's my best trick."
"Well now that Myra's here you can go ahead and confess to her Spinner-" taunted Compress before he was interrupted by Spinner grabbing the collar of his shirt.
"This is why I hate you guys," Spinner instead of punching the magician in the face pushed him away, trying to quell his anger.
Myra stepped close to the lizard man and whispered into his ear, "Aw, that hurts my feelings Spinner and here I thought we where soulmates." The blush on his face made Myra giggle before a pissed off looking Shigurake walked through the door. "Enough already, there is something we need to do."
Back at Myra's apartment she was joined by Dabi as they sat on the second story front porch with their legs dangling over the edge. She sparked a lighter at the end of a freshly rolled blunt and inhaled the smoke.
Exhaling the smoke she relaxed and leaned onto the pole for support. "It's the Hero Commission," she said before taking another drag and holding the cigarillo out for Dabi to take.
"Makes sense," He grabbed the blunt and brought it to his mismatched lips. "Who else could command a top hero like that."
"My thoughts exactly." She nodded in agreement and asked, "What will you do next?"
"Not sure…what do you think?" Dabi held the blunt for Myra to grab, which she did, and he continued. "Should I let things play out how they will or eliminate the possible threat?" The grin on his face made it obvious which answer he preferred, but Myra didn't rush to answer him. Myra inhaled and thought for a minute.
While breathing out the smoke she spoke, "Hmm. The threat is very possible with the commission behind him…and his objective is obviously to gather information and take us down from the inside out, or a surprise attack…If we eliminate him now then the commission would have even more reason to kill us first ask questions later…but if we let him continue thinking he's playing us for fools, the question is how many of us will we lose in the end."
"Not like either of us really care about the rest of them," he chimed in as she handed him the cigarillo.
"This is true…then I guess the real question is, what is the better option for your end goal?"
"That is a good question."
Myra's phone began to ring and she pulled it from her pocket and saw the name Spinner. Turning the phone to Dabi so he could see who it was he nodded his head in acknowledgment as she answered the phone and put it on speaker.
"Sup Spinner."
"Think you could meet me tomorrow around three in the eastern shopping district by the train station?" The question was random as hell and Myra was slightly thrown off.
"This must be serious, nigga can't even say 'hi' before he's asking for something. Why do you want to meet in the shopping district?" She voiced her question and Dabi leaned closer to loudly whisper, "Sounds like a date to me."
"…You're with Dabi?" Spinner asked already knowing the answer.
Myra was getting a little annoyed since he was dodging her question. "Yeah, so?"
"Can't you tell, he's jealous," this time Dabi whispered it so that only she could hear, without even having to move closer. Myra gave him a look, but to Dabi it was completely unreadable.
The voice of Spinner interrupted their starring contest. "I'll explain tomorrow, can you come or not?"
Myra thought about what she had to do tomorrow and sighed, "Fine, I'll be there." With that she hung up the phone and slipped the device back into her pocket.
"That guy really has a thing for you," Dabi said passing the blunt back to Myra.
Shrugging her shoulders she grabs the cigarillo and takes one more drag before putting it out on the ground next to her. "Apparently I'm a hot commodity right now."
Dabi smirked at her response. "Apparently your ego takes up a good majority of the space in your tiny ass apartment."
"So, you got jokes now, funny. But my ego is nothing compared to yours?"
"You think so?!"
Myra simply nodded her head in response but this time there was a smirk on her face to let him know that she was joking.
Looking directly at Dabi, Myra couldn't help but to notice the very distinct turquoise blue to his eyes. 'Now that I think about it, I feel like I've seen that color before…'
"I'll let things play out as they will for now. Besides we should wait and see if he finally takes me up on my offer," Dabi said getting back to their earlier conversation.
"I still think that was a stupid move. You and I both know that heroes don't kill people, let alone other heroes," she rolled her eyes at the mere thought of it.
"If he doesn't, then he knows we have no further business to discuss and he won't get any of that precious information…But, if he does, then I can use that to my advantage." That devilish grin was back on his face and Myra was getting sick of him keeping her in the dark.
"You gonna finally tell me what your master plan is?"
"You mean besides destroying the hero society?" Myra nodded and he put a finger to his chin, pretending to think about it.
"Endeavor…Hawks, I'm going to show the world the truth about those false heroes they worship so much. All their dirty laundry hanging out to dry for everyone to see…I'm going to watch it all burn with these flames," Dabi was looking at a blue flame that he'd created in his left hand. He watched the flame intently not even bothering to finish his sentence.
Myra could tell that there was more to what he was saying but she stayed silent having filled in most of the gaps herself. Looking out towards the city she thought about what that would mean for the Kyushu Group.
With the only other major rival gang in the country in disarray the Kyushu Group was poised to take its place. What that normally means is providing certain supplies to the people, protecting those who can afford to hire them and destroying whoever gets in the way.
However times keep changing, and with the rise in the number of heroes, it also meant the Yakuza and Kyushu where no longer necessary for society. Unless you where power or money hungry, there was really no reason to continue. Myra wasn't either of those things, so why was she still trudging on?
Maybe it's because she likes doing it, maybe it's because it's a male dominate space and she loves to fuck that shit up. Maybe it's because it's all she has, or maybe it's because it's the last thing she has of her real family.
All of those are valid reasons but if Myra was being honest with herself she really had no fuckin' clue. She'd lost a lost of her passion and joy for life when her father died almost fifty years ago. Her mother passed only a few months later. Myra gave up everything but got sucked back into the life simply because it was the only way she knew how to survive.
And now here she is, the leader of the Kyushu Group, Night Stalker the hired assassin and Myra the League of Villains member. 'I feel like I've been doing more with the League than I have my own family- Actually…I've been doing more for Dabi and his master plan.'
'I don't take orders from anyone and yet here I am helping out a fellow villain and doing some of his dirty work…He is quite handsome and just my type…and the last time I got with a guy like that he tried to kill me, not saying that Dabi would, but I also wouldn't put it past him…I've always been drawn to the worst of the worst.'
'How long has it even been?…I was last with Suki, what? Two years ago? And the last dick I had was…five years before that-oh god, I need to get laid before I do something really stupid that I'll regret later.'
"Myra!"
"Huh?" Hearing Dabi yell her name snapped her out of her thoughts as her eyes focused on the worst possible distraction she could have right now.
"You've been starring at me for ten minutes. It's cute that you have a crush on me but-"
"My bad! I wasn't trying to stare at you." She interrupted before he could say anything else to embarrass her further, turning her head to look in the opposite direction.
The silence between them didn't last long but felt like forever to Myra before Dabi finally spoke again.
"I noticed that you didn't deny having a crush on me," and of course it was to mock her once more.
"I already made it known that I find you attractive, no point in denying it now." She glanced at him before continuing, "But if you're going to continue mocking me for it, maybe I will go on a date with Spinner, and no, it wouldn't be just to rub it in your face. Although that would be a bonus-"
"You'd seriously sleep with-" "I never said anything about sleeping with him…not saying I wouldn't-" "I thought you didn't date people you work with?" "I thought you didn't hear everything from that conversation?" Her head was turned to him fully now and she had a triumphant smile on her face that showed her fangs.
"Just admit that you care about me and I'll drop it," She said putting on her best innocent face as she batted her eyelashes at him.
"Hn, I'm not saying that," He rolled his eyes at her childish act.
"Your not, not saying it." She said looking down at the sidewalk below.
"I'll say this…you can do better." His words where a surprise. A very different surprise that she was silently hopeful for but didn't think would happen in that moment.
The genuine smile that appeared on her face was gone within seconds, returning to its normal emotionless state. But Dabi saw it. She had dropped her mask and let him in just a little bit more.
Myra found who she was looking for and was tailing them at the street level. It was almost midnight meaning she didn't need her umbrella, gloves and sunglasses, but there was still a decent amount of people out and about to keep them obstructed from each others view. Especially with the current number one hero Endeavor patrolling the area.
Myra was watching him more intently now than she did that night of the Nomu attack. Unfortunately she wasn't going to get much information out of them on the crowded sidewalk. With that thought a devilish grin overtook her features and Myra picked up the pace.
Within seconds she was behind him. The hero was tall with very broad shoulders, which she used to her advantage as she moved when he did, keeping her presence hidden.
He finally realized that he was being followed and stopped walking abruptly. But before Myra slammed into him she instead tapped him on the shoulder with her finger and side stepped around him making her way down the nearby alley. Now the question was, would he take the bait and follow.
Myra leaned against the wall blending in with the shadows while she waited to find out. She didn't have to wait too long as not even a minute later he walked slowly, cautiously towards her.
"Who are you?" He asked outright, flames at the ready.
"Hm, if you don't know then I must be doing my job very well," she said kicking off the wall and stepping closer to the flame hero.
"And what exactly is your job?" He questioned tensing as she stepped into his personal space.
"Is that anyway to talk to a lady? You haven't even introduced yourself yet."
Myra was toying with him and he knew it. And of course being the hero that he is, he was having non of it.
"I don't need to introduce myself to a villain." His voice was cold as he analyzed the brown skinned woman before him. She was definitely giving off a vibe, but he wasn't sure if she was a threat or not.
Once Myra was close she got a good look at his eyes and they where a very familiar turquoise blue. A smile spread across her face revealing her fangs. "Hm, I guess not, since I know who you are anyway. Tell me Enji Todoroki, do you have any kids?"
