Chapter 4
After the weekend passed, Cassius was walking to class with his friends when he noticed Cedric Diggory confronting Cassie in the hallway.
"Do you really believe that Dumbledore would allow a student under the age of seventeen into the tournament, after he specified that no one else was to enter?" Cassie said in a monotone voice.
Diggory walked away from her, shaking his head.
"I do." Cassius was surprised that he spoke up.
Weasley and Cassie turned around and looked at me in surprise.
"Of course you do. Slytherin hasn't been treated the best since Harry started here." Cassie nodded.
Cassius blinked at Cassie and stared at her.
'You're a strange one.' He thought to himself.
"You're Cassie Zwart, Malfoy's cousin." He pointed at Cassie, just wanting her to know he knew her name.
"I am. Sirius Black is also my father, who is still on the run." Cassie nodded.
That response took Cassius by surprise, he couldn't help himself from laughing.
"You're a quick one." He said to her.
"What do you want?" Weasley asked, glaring at the seventh years.
"Don't piss them off." Cassie growled at Weasley.
"I overheard Diggory's and Zwart's conversation. That's all." Cassius responded cooly.
"For what it's worth," Cassie interjected before Weasley could open his mouth. "I hope you win the Tournament. Slytherin could use a win."
Cassius couldn't help the feeling of surprise again.
"You're not supporting Potter?" Cassius asked.
"Oh I am. I just don't want him to win." Cassie told him.
Cassius couldn't figure her out. All he could do was laugh and walk away.
"Warrington, what was that about?" Astrid asked him.
"I have no idea." Cassius told her truthfully.
Later that day, Cassius didn't see what happened in the common room.
Malfoy had a black eye, but there were a bunch of 'Support Warrington - the REAL Hogwarts Champion' badges passed around the Slytherins.
Cassius discreetly told each person in his seventh year class that if anyone laid another hand or curse on the boy, they were to be reported to him first.
Several of them paled but nodded.
Cassius was walking around Hogsmeade when he spotted Cassie walking with Granger.
Astrid noticed where he was looking and poked his side.
"This is her first time being here. She didn't come here at all last year." Astrid informed him.
Cassius was suddenly filled with a longing to have been the one to take her to Hogsmeade.
He couldn't tell if it was because he wanted to get close to her, or because he needed to start getting close to her because it would be better for the Dark Lord.
Another short one. But don't worry they'll get longer, and I will go more into Cassius's thoughts about Cassie and where he stands. I'm just trying to get there first.
