The next morning, the group met around the fire. There wasn't fire lit, but it was still their meeting spot. "I'm going fishing," Garrett declared. "I'm going to take Leah with me. We used our last fish last night, so we're going to need to make sure we get more. Especially since we now have more people in our group."

"Okay," Bram said. "What other tasks need to be done."

"Someone needs to stay here to set off the smoke signal just in case," Garrett said. "We never know when rescuers could arrive. There could be an accident as well. We need a quick way to alert each other."

"I'll stay here," Abby promised.

"Okay," Garrett said. "There's another smoke signal at the beach. The rest of you can search the trees. Lookout for berries. We'll identify which ones are okay to eat when we're back at camp. Also, look for coconuts. Those are the only source of freshwater we have."

"We will," Bram said.

"Meet back up here at sunset," Garrett said. Bram, Martin, and Simon ventured further into the woods.

"I know where the coconuts and best berries are," Bram said. He led them further into the woods. The path was mostly shaded. The sun only came out through where the branches were thin. "We're here. Start climbing."

The boys started to climb up the trees. Bram and Simon ended up climbing trees right beside each other. It was close enough where they could easily hear each other. "So, what do you plan on doing if we get back to the mainland?" Bram asked.

"I don't know," Simon sighed. "Probably finish up high school. That will be weird without most of our classmates. I did have someone that I'm romantically interested in, but I'm pretty sure they're dead."

Tears were beginning to well up in Simon's grey eyes. "Who?" Bram asked.

"The thing is, I only knew him over emails," Simon confessed. "His email name was Blue. He was also on that plane. I never got a chance to meet him, and now I never will. Our emails are actually how Martin was blackmailing me."

"Wait really?" Bram shouted, pulling some coconuts free from the trees.

"Yeah," Simon said. "I forgot to log out after emailing him in the school library. He took screenshots and threatened to out me to the entire school. You know the rest of the story."

Anger built up in the usually calm Bram. He didn't want to alarm the boy, so he said all he could. "Simon, I'm Blue," Bram said. Simon lost balance on the branch, and tumbled to the ground.
