"And you're sure you searched everywhere?" said a woman in traditional Japanese clothing to a young in front of her desk who simply nodded.
This was Ouhi Oriobana the head priest of Tsuzura Temple. The boy in question was Kazuya Kagami Kyouka's current owner. She sighed in exasperation. Kyouka had been missing for a while and they have been searching for her since. They checked the interior, grounds, and even outside but found nothing. This was the 3rd unsuccessful search in a row, and were back to square one again.
"We'll search again for her in the morning." said Kazuya who was positive on finding her.
"I'll organize another search party. Go back to your room and get some sleep." she said, and the boy obliged.
As he left the office not noticing that they were being watched by someone up in a tree. Whoever it was chuckled and quickly left. Meanwhile in the corridor Kazuya was talking with a girl wearing a flower-patterned kimono with an obi.
She was the obi tsukumogami Kiriha his first tsukumogami who despite having a very unusual personality. Is loyal to her owner and will help him in any of his problems.
"You sure we will find her?" she asked, not that very optimistic on the situation.
"She wouldn't run away on her. Besides she can't survive without an owner." Kazuya retorted, still hopeful despite unsuccessful in his own search for her.
"In any case if she doesn't turn up, we can simply cross her off as a lost cause."
Before he can retort, his hair stood up at the sound of laughter. It came from the outside and everyone who was asleep at the time woke up. They got creeped out the longer and louder it got. It ended abruptly just as it started. When it died down the exorcists went back to sleep, some however couldn't as it kept them up all night. Kazuya and Kiriha on the other hand were slightly shaken by it.
"That was something." Kiriha commented
"Let's hope it doesn't repeat." Kazuya said still shaken.
They continued back to their room and retired to bed. This wouldn't be the last they will be visited by Smiling Saint.
