Disclaimers I don't own Kono Suba, Isekai Quartet, or any of the other anime properties within the Isekai genre, please support any to all official releases, cause who knows maybe we'll get a big ass Isekai Quartet film, where it serves nothing more than the ultimate crossover film with the sole purpose to be nothing but fan service, however unlike other big ambitious projects, it'll have the decency to tell a linear plot.
Speaking of plot, let's get on to the damn story already.
It's obviously not been easy for anyone, that's a given as evident by how everyone's been feeling grief and are merely trying to cope with their loses in some form or way.
However for the surviving Guardians of the once great Tomb of Nazarick, it's been a bit of an emotional struggle since nearly all of them had been wiped out in the most recent conflict.
As it stands, there's a bit of a power struggle as who's to lead the group, and none are more dominating with the idea to rule more than Demiruge and Cocytus.
While Demiruge heard straight from the dying breath from his master that he not only apologizes but forgives him, it mattered not to Cocytus as he wasn't present due to him being severly injured in the battle.
As for the cryo bug demon himself, he accuses of Demiruge trying to move back in and claim false leadership, after witness him into exile, by falsely claiming that he was forgiven by their master.
While it would seem obvious that the 2 would normally fight, at the moment they decided to hold their fight over dominance of the Tomb of Nazarick by the end of the week, so that they may not only pay their master, but their friends a respectful passing and a moment of silence, while also regaining their strength by any means during their fight.
Yes just like a handful of their friends, Demiruge and Cocytus didn't left without having a few battle scars of their own, with Demiruge losing his tail, his right wing, and some heavy scars on his back.
Cocytus against all odds, or maybe because of the warrior spirit within him, had left the battle with his lower half gone, as he now moves around with his lower 2 arms to support his weight and to move around places.
Meanwhile their only other member Aura has been left alone, unable to rely on her close allies for emotional comfort and support, especially given how her twin was the one to have died during the battle.
As such Aura tries to stay far away from home and instead relies on the accompaniment of Elze, who like her had lost a sibling in the recent battle they had partake.
At the moment, they had chose to meet up outside of a park, where they can just talk.
"So how are things back at home" asked Elze as she took a sip from her soda, "Honestly, if it's not me feeling like a stranger at home, I feel like killing those 2 idiots myself, which is very redundant given how they want to kill each other" said Aura.
"And you" asked Aura, "Well Yae has been spending her days just locked up in her room writing poetry, and Yumina usually keeps quiet to herself, just looking a little more sad" said Elze.
"I see" said Aura as they both looked up into the sky and enjoyed the moment of silence, as they reflected on how they had taken for granted moments like these with their respective sibling.
Before long, Elze let out a deep sigh before turning her head to Aura.
"Well I better start heading back now, and remember if anything happens" said Elze, "I know who to call" said Aura, before the best friends hugged it out as they went on their way back home.
Wanting to take the long way back and trying to avoid the super downer like atmosphere back at home, Elze walked alongside an old shopping plaza that looked like it was a hot spot for a never ending war of some kind, given the amount of property damaged surrounding the area, not to mention a small pile of discarded weapons that she wasn't familiar with.
But as she had walked halfway through the shopping plaza, she heard some ruckus coming from inside of one of the buildings.
Curiosity getting the better of her, Elze made her way to where all the commotion was happening, where she came upon a small group of people, whom she never had met before.
"Any idea where we're at" came the voice of a young woman with long chestnut brown hair, with a red on white clothing aesthetic as she seemed to wield a sword on her hip.
"Well, definitely we're not in SAO, ALO, GGO, or UW" said a young man in an all black attire, but what stood out was his black trench coat and dual wielding swords he had kept on his hip.
"Does anyone even remember what happened before we got here" asked a man with facial hair and wearing what was mainly an all red body armor attire, as he had a katana on his hip.
"If I recall, we all agreed to meet up to play the new VRMMORPG 'Heathens and Heroes', until Kirito was instantly gifted a unique item when starting a new game" said a bald, black axe wielder, as his appearance alone amongst the group screams an American.
"That's right and what came next was that we all gathered around together and saw that it looked like a weird remote control with a single red button" said a girl with a small pet dragon which is awesome in itself for its own right.
"Of course curiosity got the better of us thinking it was an invite to try out like a new beta mode, but it wasn't" said a girl who was wearing the picture definition of a combat dress, as there was mismatched armored plating around her body, as she wore a frilly combat skirt.
"Kirito if this is us getting dragged alongside you to play another dangerous game where death means actual death, I'm blaming you" said a young woman with long blonde hair wearing an all green attire, but what made her stood out more was her elf like ears, as a young girl wearing an all white dress, walking bare foot stood next to her.
"Leafa, I don't think this is anyone trying to kill either mommy or daddy" said the little girl next to Leafa.
"What do you mean Yui" asked Kirito, "I mean this isn't any VRMMORPG, since what I feel is actual feeling, and I'm having to remind myself how to breathe through my nose" said Yui.
"You mean, we're not in a videogame" asked the chestnut haired young woman to which the little girl nodded her head to.
"This has to be a joke right" said the katana wielding man, "If it was, I'd would've already advised us to go into our control settings and log out, but it's nonexistent" said Kirito as everyone around tried to do that, but no such feature existed.
"Ok, I am seriously starting to get creeped out" said the girl in the combat, "Let's not panic, I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation to all of this" said the girl with the chestnut hair.
As they all began to discuss amongst themselves as to who they got here and why, Elze made herself apparent when she had accidentally knocked over a few empty bottles of water.
"Who's there" said Kirito as everyone who had a weapon, had drawn it as this startled Elze.
"Hold on, I'm not anyone to be feared" said Elze as she raised her hands up, which did the trick to calm everyone down.
"Alright then, but exactly who are you and where are we" asked Kirito, "My name is Elze, and from what I understood from my late fiancé is that we're all stuck here in this alternative world that resembles a country named Japan" said Elze.
"Others, you mean they're more people here in this world besides us" asked Leafa, "Yes, well actually there was but recently we've all had over came a battle, so there's not that many of us, but enough for everyone to share that we all come from different worlds" explained Elze.
"Different worlds" said the bald axe man, "What are you saying that everyone who's here has been either reborn or summoned to a different world like in anime" asked the katana man.
"If you think about, you guys are always going off on an Isekai adventure of your own as well" said Yui to voice her opinion.
Really not sure what to believe, since this is legit pushing the limits as to what Kirito and company had all previously dealt with, for the time being, he decided to roll with it as they needed answer.
"Alright, I believe what you're saying, however I like to meet your friends and try to figure things out, my names Kirito by the way" said Kirito as soon everyone had gone around and introduced themselves to one another.
"Pleasure to meet you" said Elze as both stepped forward and shook hands, "Is it alright for me to admit that I was expecting you to greet us like an NPC under the lines of 'Initializing audio testing sequence engage' or something like that" said Kirito with a chuckle.
"I've no idea what that means, but I think I got a few friends here who are more than happy to educate me" said Elze with a chuckle of her own.
Back at MgRonalds
After being filled in as to what had happened, Ashiya was amazed as to not only what had happened to the neighborhood prior to their arrival, but the ordeal they all had went through before and after.
"So Ashiya, anything worth reporting" asked Maou as they're guest have left, leaving them a moment to chat, "Yes my lord, it seems that these group of individuals are more powerful than their appearance" said Ashiya.
"Don't humans having a saying on the lines of, 'never judge a magazine by its cover'" said Maou, "I believe the saying is 'never judge a book by its cover' my lord, but that's beside the point" said Ashiya.
"It seems that shortly before our arrival, they all came to battle against one another, before their fight was interrupted by a monstrous machine known as the Destroyer" said Ashiya.
"You mean that robo spider we pass by from time to time" asked Maou, "That one indeed, however what I found to be more interesting are these 2 things, a lot of their friends were actually immortal, but were incapable of dying, as the name implies given, however they were all supplied with weapons that had indeed gone and killed these immortals" said Ashiya.
"Really, you don't say" said Maou, "Might I suggest we check the battle grounds later on and see if we can acquire and analyze the material that was used to indeed kill these immortals" said Ashiya.
"I shall allow it, mainly cause I'm curious to know" said Maou, "Thank you my lord, however I should mention that all of this happened, due to everyone here being associated to one Satou Kazuma" said Ashiya.
"Satou Kazuma" said Maou, "I believe he was the one whom you had to approach to stop arguing with one Tanya" said Ashiya as Maou definitely has a clear picture of the guy.
"Alright, but what makes the guy important" asked Maou, "According to his friends, they all got into a fight to the death originally due to half of them mistreating Kazuma and were trying to bring him back to school, since the Destroyer was after him directly, and the school wanted to avoid any really damage to the public, while the other half were fighting to ensure his safety not knowing the big picture, that was withhold from everyone, but the school faculty" said Ashiya.
Hearing this was a lot to take in, but Maou knew one thing for sure, and that he was going to have to pay Kazuma a visit.
Alright guys, another chapter down and done, with more to come along the way, so be sure to stick around and wait for the next chapter whenever I come around to publish that.
Otherwise I'll be focusing on this story along with my 2 other ones for the time being, without stretching myself to thin here, while also regrow my reputation here amongst the community again, which is surprisingly going smooth and steady based on my perspective.
Otherwise I've been appreciating the support I've been getting so far, knowing that there's people out there still loyal to following my work, which speaking of, my own original novel is getting a sequel soon and is currently in the progress as we speak, so hopefully next time I'll be able to keep you guys updated on that soon in the near future.
