It's been a few days since the Potters have heard the prophecy from Albus Dumbledore. The prophecy was still fresh in their minds. They couldn't believe that their child that they were going to have might be the one to defeat Voldemort. It was a terrible burdon to have. Now more than ever they were glad that they were leaving England to escape the war.

Their house was now completely empty, except for the two people that were in it and the fireplace that was still lit for one last time. The couple looked around the house, and they still couldn't believe that this would be the last time that they would ever be here. It held so many memories for them, lots of good ones and a few bad.

Lily took a deep breath and said, "Well, this is it. The day we finally leave, it has come so fast. It seems like yesterday that we just moved in."

James gave a small smile and responded, "I know what you mean. We had so many great memories here." He gave a small laugh, "Especially with Padfoot and Moony here, there was never a dull moment."

Flashback
When Remus pranked people, he tended to plan it out well in advance. He went for elaborate pranks that required intellect and preparation and research.

Which was why, in a (fairly successful) attempt to catch everyone off guard, the prank he played on the other Marauders and Lily during the height of their Prank War was inane, insipid, and entirely brilliant in its simplicity.

Remus grinned into his pillow when he heard Sirius' horrified yell. "What has happened to my hair?" he shrieked - although, of course, if asked, he would deny that the sound had been anything so unmanly as a shriek. Remus peeked out off the crack in his curtains to watch the fallout, hoping to stay out of it for as long as possible. As he watched, James sat up blearily, feeling around for his glasses and freezing as he put them on.

"You're bald," he declared, sounding entirely to pleased. Remus couldn't see Sirius, but he doubted that he appreciated the statement.

"So are you!" Sirius retorted. James clapped his hands to his head in horror.

Remus heard angry footsteps approach his bed and immediately closed his eyes, deciding that faking sleep was the best plan. His grip on his wand, hidden under his pillow, tightened.

"Moony, you absolute bastard!" Sirius shouted, tearing open the curtains. Remus failed to stifle his laugh, abandoning his pretense of sleep, and looked up. Sirius looked ridiculous without his over-styled hair. Remus noted with a hint of pride that the spell had spared his eyebrows; he'd had to tweak the original curse he'd found, which was intended to get rid of all of the hair everywhere on the victim's body. The alterations had worked perfectly, it seemed.

"That's a good look for you," Remus teased. Sirius looked murderous as he drew his wand. "Ah, ah, ah," Remus cautioned, shaking his head. "Remember the rules of a Marauders Prank War. No dueling allowed."

"You and your rules," Sirius muttered, but he stashed his wand anyway.

"Oh, James?" Remus called as he stood, grabbing his clothes and heading over to the bathroom. "You might get a bit of a shock at breakfast."

"A bigger shock than this?" James cried. Remus winked at him it would be much more fun to watch James' reaction when he got down to the kitchen and found out for himself.

"How long is this going to last?" Sirius asked. Remus shrugged.

"A day. Have fun." He closed the door quickly, barely missing the Jelly-Legs Curse Sirius sent flying at him, the no-dueling rule be damned. Laughing, Remus dressed quickly and fled the bedroom as quickly as he could.

"Remus John Lupin!" an irate voice screeched. Remus couldn't help but flinch; he'd never been on the receiving end of that voice before, although he honestly should have seen it coming. Lily looked no less fierce than she usually did with her hair gone. In fact, she looked more terrifying than normal, although that could possibly have been attributed to the fact that her wand was drawn and pointed directly at Remus.

Quickly, Remus threw up a Shield Charm, backing away as Lily began hurling jinxes and curses at him. Well, no one ever said pranking wasn't dangerous. Remus wished Lily knew of the no-dueling rule, but honestly, he should have expected this.

End Flashback

They both laughed at the memory it is funnier now than it was then.

Lily then gave a glare to James, "You should have told me there was a no-dueling rule. It took me a week to grow back my hair. I couldn't be seen in public the entire time without being laughed at."
James stuffled his laugh as he responded, "Sorry Lily, but we should have warned you. Besides, Remus did deserve it he shouldn't have involved you." Lily huffed in response to that.

Lily then sighed, "Well its time to go. I defenitely will miss this place."

James reached over and squeezed her hand. Which she gave a smile in response. "I'm going to miss this place too Lily,"

They looked around one last time before going to the fireplace and getting out the Floo Powder. But, before they could get any further the fireplace burst to life, and out came two people. One had incredible shaggy hair, and the other looked like he was barely getting any sleep.

James and Lily were surprised to see them but, they were grateful at the same time.

James got out of shock first and greeted them, "Sirius, Remus what are you guys doing here? Not that we are ungrateful or anything, but we were just getting ready to leave."

Remus spoke first, "We wanted to see you guys off, and Padfoot here has never been to a muggle airport before."

Sirius whined, "Moony, why did you have to tell them that? Besides, it will be a while til the Mauraders are back together again."

James and Lily both smiled secretly at that comment. Now, they figured was a good time as any to ask them.

Lily smiled at Sirius's antics and said, "Its great to see you guys, and we are glad you guys are seeing us off. Since we have something to ask you."

Remus was curious on what they wanted to ask, "What is it Lily?"

Lily and James looked at each other first, as if silently debating on who would ask them.

Sirius was getting impatient and said, "Will you spit it out already?"

Remus lightly shoved him for being rude, and motioned for them to continue. They smiled gratefully in response. Then James spoke asking the all important question, "We were talking the other night and we were wondering..."

Remus and Sirius wondered what it was. But, before they could ask Lily continued, "...if you would like to come to America and move there with us?"

Once the two of them heard what they were both asking, they were flushed with emotions. They were happy that the two of them wanted them to , they were upset since they weren't asked sooner than this. Remus wanted to come but, he had little money and didn't want to be a burden to them. Sirius on the other hand, was estatic and was ready to come right away. Anything to get out of that place he used to call home.

James was getting nervous, since they both have been quiet for quite some time now. He decided to break the silence and ask, "Well, what do you guys think?"

Sirius spoke first, "I'm defenitly coming you guys. But, I have one question. What took you guys so long to ask!"

Lily and James both laughed in relief. They were so glad that Sirius decided to come. Now all that was left was Remus's response. So, now everyone turned to Remus eagerly waiting his response.

James said, "Well, Moony what do you think? Are you going to come with us? Or will we have to force you to come?"
Lily laughed at that, and hit him in the chest. "James! There was no need to threaten him. But, seriously Remus what do you think?"

Remus was quiet for a moment longer before finally giving them an answer. "Guys, while I'm flattered you want me to come. I can't. I don't have enough money to pay for the trip, or have enough money for my own place."

Sirius had enough of Remus's pity party and said, "Moony, I have enough money to last me a lifetime. I'd be glad to pay for your trip. Besides, you can stay with me until you are able to afford your own place."

Remus replied, "I can't accept that Sirius. Besides, I don't want to be a burden."

Sirius rolled his eyes and said, "You won't be a burden Remus. I insist, I won't take no for a answer."

Remus relunctantly replied, "Fine, I'll come. But, I'm only saying yes since, if I said no you would prank me til the end of time."

Sirius smirked and said, "Exactly, and don't you forget it."

Lily laughed and said, "Okay, you two break it up. While, we are glad you two said yes. We really have to get going. Our plane takes off in an hour."

James asked the two of them, "Do you guys want to come and see us off at the airport?"

Remus said, "Of course, we wouldn't miss it for the world."

Sirius nodded in agreement. James went to the fireplace first and grabbed the Floo Powder from on top and, threw some into the fireplace. He looked at the place one last time in sadness, and then turned around and stepped into the fireplace and yelled out, "Gatwick Airport!"

With a woosh of green flames he was off. Next up was Remus and Sirius, they did the exact same thing as James and off they went. Last up was Lily Potter, she looked around the place that she had called home for the last 2 years. Memories flooded through her one last time. She shook them off, and then she smiled as she stepped into the fireplace knowing that she would make even more once their child was born. She put some powder into the fireplace and called out, "Gatwick Airport!" She disappeared from the place one last time.

A few minutes later the fireplace burst to life once more, and outstepped an elderly male in purple robes. This man was Albus Dumbledore. He arrived there hoping he could get them to change their minds once more. If not he'd place them under the Imperius Curse and force them. He called out, "Lily. James. Are you there. I would like to talk to you?"

But, he recieved no answer, this infurated him he had hoped to catch them off guard before they left. But, instead they left without giving him any warning in advance. Now, one of his plans backfired, and he'd have to go searching for them. But, if he couldn't find them at least Voldemort might be able too. He smiled at the thought. Soon, he'd have his pawn and nothing would stop him from succeeding. He decided to leave, and perhaps check the Ministry files to see if they registered any international portkeys. He went to the fireplace and called out, "Hogwarts!" Perhaps he'd check there tomorrow after all it was getting late. He stepped into the flames and disappeared.

Up next they finally go to America, and we get to see what Voldemort and his Death Eaters are up too. Don't worry the first crossover starts in a few chapters.
