As Mako returned the their camp half an hour later a little fire was already burning. Korra must have lightened it, because Kya wasn't to be seen. He laid his timbers on the pile with the others and turned to his brother. "Did you find something to eat?" "Yeah there some provisions in Juicys saddlebag. Pema is always thinking of everything", Bolin said grinning. Mako returned the smile and frowned. "Have you seen Kya?" he finally asked because it didn't let him go. "Not since you went to gather wood", Bolin answered shacking his head. Mako nodded and went to Asami and Korra who where already cooking something in a pot. "Hi have you seen Kya?" The two women looked up to him. "No, but she will turn up again she isn't a small child after all", Korra laughed. Mako only snorted and went in the direction in which he had seen Kya go. "What's wrong with him?" Korra asked her girlfriend. Asami only shrugged and kept cutting vegetables. Mako couldn't understand how Korra could be so calm. He knew that Kya wasn't a small child, but the last time she had gone of alone she had nearly died in a snowstorm. Hard he made his way threw the underwood of the forest until he stepped out of it. He stood on a cliff and could see how the sun was sinking into the sea. On the edge of the cliff sat Kya her legs dangling over it and she looked out to the sea. Slowly Mako went to his girlfriend and sat beside her. Kya looked quickly at him but turned her gaze back to the sea. For a while the two sat beside each other in silence. "Shouldn't you be with Korra?" Kya finally asked. Her voice was cool. "Why should I be with Korra, you're the one I worry about", Mako said and looked at Kya from the side. "That looked quite different before", Kya said and looked at Mako for the first time. Her gaze was full of sadness and anger. "Kya she's my friend and she was hurt of course I worry, because I know it could harm you too." Kya rolled her eyes about this statement. Mako took her hand. "Hi if you're mad at me because the thing in the station I'm sorry but I can explain it. Look my colleagues don't take me serious because I'm not an metal no not even an earthbender. They call me ferret and I didn't want the picture you have of me to change." Kya looked at Mako surprised, so that was why he didn't want her to come to the station. Kya smiled and shook her head as she said. "Mako I know that you're capable of more than those idiots, besides I wouldn't let me be influenced by them but that's not it." Mako was relived but Kya still worried him. "And what is it then? You can tell me everything." Kya looked at her hand which was still intertwined with Makos. "I'm I just a replacement for Korra for you?" she finally asked and looked at him. "What?" Mako was shocked how could she believe that. "You understood me. Are you just with me because you can't have Korra anymore and you see me as a replacement for her." Now tears gathered in Kya's eyes. "Hi", Mako said and brushed the tears softly from Kya's cheek. "Kya that's absolute bullshit. I'm with you because I love you and not because your Korra's sister, but for who you are do you understand?" "You love me?" Kya asked with choked voice the rest of Mako's sentence she hardly heard. Mako looked at her confused, he hadn't been aware of what he said, but he smiled and said: "Yes I love you Kya." He bent forwards and kissed Kya softly. Immediately Kya wrapped her arms around Mako's neck and drew him closer. The kiss got more passionate and finally the parted gasping. Mako took Kya's face in his hands and brushed the last tears from her cheeks. "And now stop crying princess", he said and smiled. "Don't call me that", Kya said meekly. "But you are a princess", Mako said seriously. "Yeah", Kya began and suddenly her eyes widened. "That's it Mako. Uh how could I be so stupid", Kya said and jumped up. "What?" Mako didn't quite get it. Kya smiled down at him and reached her hand out to him. "Let's go back to the others I know how to end the rebellion." Mako took Kya's hand and got up, together they went hand in hand back to the campsite.

"There you are again and I see that you have made up", Korra said grinning when Kya and Mako reached the camp and looked at their intertwined hands. "Yeah and Kya knows how to end the rebellion", said Mako. "Oh yeah and how?" Korra asked. Kya let go of Mako's hand and while he sat beside Bolin, who pushed a bowl of food into his hand, she went to Juicy and rummaged threw the saddlebag. "Kya?" Korra asked again. "Here catch", Kya said as she found what she was looking for. Korra reached her hand out and caught the golden item her sister threw at her. "Your hair decoration?" Korra asked confused as she looked at the golden flame. "The hair decoration of the heir of the fire nation yes", Kya answered who had sat beside Mako by now and took the jewelry from Korra. "And want do you want to do with it now?" Asami wanted to know. "Don't you understand. Iroh didn't ask for my help as avatar but as his sister." "You mean that if you go in there as princess you can end the rebellion?" Kya shrugged and said. "I don't know, but I have to try." "We will accompany you", Bolin said determined. "No, they will recognize you I have to go alone", Kya defended. "We will take position outside the village, to get you out of there if something goes wrong", Korra said determined. "Alright", Kya gave in. After the eat, they split up to stay guard, the left Kya out of it she should be well rested for her intention.
