As it begins to get dark, the Islanders head inside to begin to get ready for the evening. Most of the boys wear their best t-shirts or short-sleeved henleys and expensive jeans, whilst the girls do their hair and makeup in the dressing room.
"So, how's it going with your couple, hun?" Rachel asks Jenny whilst curling her hair with the curling tongs.
"Hmm… I'd say so far so good; I mean, I haven't really gotten to know Trevor all that well, but he seems like a nice guy. I guess we'll see how it goes tonight when we have to share a bed! It's gonna be so awkward!" Jenny giggles, applying her makeup with a brush.
"Oh! I forgot about that!" Rachel laughs. "What do you think of Mike?"
"I mean, I got to kiss him so I'm not complaining- he's so cute!" Jenny says.
"Yeahh! He's so hot and those eyes…" she says dreamily. "I can't lie- I was a bit jealous…" Rachel laughs. "I like Kyle, but I wanna keep my options open for now, if you know what I mean."
"Yeah, I completely agree!" Jenny says, finishing off her eyeliner with a flourish.
Meanwhile, in the bedroom, the boys have finished getting ready and are sitting on their beds, organising their stuff.
Mike was sitting on his bed, chatting to Trevor. "Anyway, how are you feeling about it all?" Mike says.
"Awesome! I mean… when have there ever been this many hot people in one place?" He says with a grin, which makes Mike to laugh. "So… do you know who you're gonna take on your three dates tonight?"
"I really don't know if I'm honest. I like Rachel, Kyle, Harvey and Jenny- but it seems Harvey's already pretty close to Scotty so I dunno if I should bother…" Mike says, glancing on the bed beside him where Harvey is now sitting with Scottie who is practically on his lap.
"Yeah, man. I see what you mean. You've gotta give it a shot though, right?" Trevor says, glancing over to Harvey with envy.
"I suppose so…" Mike replies. "I hope you don't mind if I choose Jenny for one of my dates...?"
"Nah, it's okay dude." He says. "Oh finally! The girls took their time didn't they… let's head outside!"
After they're all ready, they head outside and notice how beautiful the place looks at night. Neon lights lined practically every surface, and fairy lights were strung in a canopy over the entire garden.
Whilst they were waiting for dinner, Harvey, Kyle, Scottie and Zoe were sitting on the beanbags by the pool getting to know each other.
"…So, yeah that's basically what I do for a living, what about you, Zoe?" Kyle says.
"I work in retail and- ", Zoe begins, until there's a shout from around the outdoor sofa area.
"I got a texttt!" Someone, who they later realise is Mike, shouts.
They all gather around the sofas to hear what the text says. Mike was just chatting with Trevor, Rachel, Jenny and Tess, until he got the text.
"Mike, it's time for your dates." Mike reads, "Ask your three choices out, and head over to the back of the villa where you will go with your first date."
He gulps nervously as he finalises his decision in his head, and says, "I think I'd like to ask Rachel, Kyle and Jenny to accompany me for my dates."
They all seem pretty thrilled about it, and Mike takes Kyle to join him for the starter course. As Mike rises from his seat to leave with Kyle, he makes accidental eye contact with Harvey. Harvey's gaze becomes slightly too heated and Mike instinctively glances away.
Three dates later- starters with Kyle, main with Rachel and dessert with Jenny- and Mike came to a sound conclusion. He had until tomorrow evening until he would get to choose who to couple up with.
It turns out, Mike's favourite date was with Rachel; she was clever, funny and very beautiful- Mike couldn't take his eyes off of her as he ate his meal, and the date went very smoothly overall. It even ended with a small kiss- just a peck.
He did enjoy his dates with Kyle and Jenny, but he felt as though Rachel was more his type.
It was finally time for bed when Mike returned to the villa with Jenny after dessert, and the islanders were all in the bathrooms getting ready for bed.
"Hey Trev!" Mike says when he sees Trevor brushing his teeth by the sinks. Mike still found it very strange how the bathrooms were open and there was no element of privacy except for the frosted shower cubicles and the toilet inside a small stall.
"Mikey!" Trevor replies after rinsing his mouth. "Who have you picked then?"
"Hey, let me tell you how it went first" Mike rolls his eyes fondly, "Kyle was funny and I had a great time, Jenny was lovely, but I ultimately think Rachel and I got on the best."
"Ooh tell me about her then! Did you guys kiss?"
"Oh my god, Trevor. She's really funny, clever and also hot. Definitely my type."
"So… did you guys kiss then?"
"Jesus…"
Not long afterwards they got inside their beds, with Mike being the only one alone for the night as he was yet to couple up. The lights turned off at 11pm every evening, and would be scheduled to turn on at 9am when they would all have to wake up.
Whilst most of the islanders slept on nearly opposite ends of their beds, Harvey and Scottie were passionately making out.
When most of the islanders were presumably asleep, Harvey swiftly reached for a condom from the bedside table, briefly glancing around to see if everyone was in fact sleeping.
