"Your divorce papers as requested" Toby cheerfully announced passing them to Walter the second he saw him.

Walter had actually filed for divorce a few months earlier when Happy had first announced her Pregnancy. He'd only found out at the beginning of the week that it had was being processed much quicker than expected and would be finished that week- which had led to the mad rush now. Walter had previously not expected it to be finalised for another 7 or 8 months yet.

Upon receiving the document from Toby he smiled and waved the papers in the air at his mother. "Thar cionn!" His mother shouted at him in congratulations "but you still should've told us all months ago". Walter had the good grace at least to look guilty.

Louise was all in a tizzy making sure that everything was perfect for the evening's announcement. She spotted Sylvester from across the lawn and smiled brightly finally a useful man to help! Walter and Sean hadn't seen the need for any extra cleaning- declaring the property "clean enough" but her beloved son-in-law knew the value of a good deep clean! Louise had exspected Happy to be in the nesting stage-as she'd been this at this point in her pregnancy, but apparently her idea of nesting was to insist on lugging her toolbox around finding things on the farm to fix and improve (of which there were plenty). Laughing with joy Louise gave Sly a big hug and kiss on the cheek before requesting his help, and noted with pride that Walter and Sean (along with Toby and Cabe) were chatting away with smiles on their faces (for once) as they put together the gazebo where the engagement announcement would take place.

It'd be another couple of hours yet before Paige would appear at the Farm- she'd gone straight to the Father to iron out the details of their wedding- to be joined by Walter and the divorce documents when he'd finished his current task. He'd spoken to the Father that morning who'd made certain to remind him that it was only recently that Irish Roman Catholics had been permitted to remarry in exceptional circumstances. He'd also told Walter he wasn't entirely certain which that circumstance it was out of his former wife having not performed her "duty" or the hope that a proper marriage would make him a "real man". Either way Walter was glad nobody else was privy to that conversation.

Thomas and Conner were keeping Ralph distracted across the other side of the farm teaching him how to play 'proper football' at Sean's request. They'd both felt smug as Sean pulled them aside and told them learning from them was going to be Ralph's only real opportunity to learn the sport- as it wasn't like Walter would teach him and Sylvester couldn't. Walter was glad of the distraction. He didn't want Ralph to catch on to their real reason for being there.

As he climbed into the car to drive to the Father's he let out a deep breath. When he had married Happy he didn't believe in love and had thought of it as junk science. Now his palms were sweaty and his stomach twisting with excitement and nerves as he thought of what was to come
