As the week was nearing an end, Moana could only silently praise herself for her progress at this new school. So far she had made a couple of friends, joined some clubs, and even managed to pass her math test! Her parents would be proud.
Moana's last class of the day was nearly over and Jasmine, the sophomore class president, stood at the front of the class talking about the Prom fundraiser.
"So it would really mean a lot if you sign up to volunteer next Wednesday. Thanks again to Sra. Chicha who has approved two extra credit points towards your final grade if you do volunteer as she'll also be there providing food." Jasmine looked towards the Spanish teacher with her perfect smile, mouthing a thank you. "Feel free to sign your name on the signup sheet right here or on the one on the class bulletin board."
Just as Jasmine got the last word in, the bell rang. The class rushed out, zipping their bags on the way out the door, paying Jasmine no mind. Within seconds the class was nearly empty, except for Moana who slowly stood up from her desk. She eyed the signup sheet on Sra. Chicha's desk. It couldn't hurt to sign up right?
Jasmine was looking at Moana with an expectant smile. She couldn't back out now. Moana hesitantly picked up the pencil next to the sheet and neatly printed her name.
"You're the best, Moana! On behalf of the Student Government Association, we really appreciate it." Jasmine exclaimed. It was the least I could do, Moana thought as she looked at the blank page with only her name.
Moana waved goodbye to Jasmine and Sra. Chicha and she exited the classroom. She heaved a sigh and pulled on the straps of her backpack. Her day was far from over, however, as she started walking towards the gym for swim practice.
Yesterday had been her first-ever swim practice. While the season was almost over, the team still welcomed her with open arms and were happy to have another member. Even though the final swim meet would be in a couple of weeks and Moana technically hadn't placed for State, it was good practice for next year.
The smell of chlorine enveloped Moana as she strode into the pool gym where some of the team had already gotten into the water to start swimming laps. Moana took her time going to the locker room, trying to avoid the puddles of water that surrounded the pool.
When Moana turned the corner she was almost immediately greeted by Ariel. "Hi!" she yelled giddily, her face smashed into a pair of goggles and a swim cap. Although Ariel was a Junior, they had quickly bonded last practice talking about their hometowns which were both near oceans.
"Hey!" Moana returned with a small chuckle.
Ariel pulled the goggles up to the top of her head. "Hey, so Elsa just told me that I can officially be your coach-slash-mentor-slash-buddy so I thought today I could start timing your laps!" she blurted, talking almost a mile a minute.
"Great!" Moana replied, trying to match Ariel's enthusiasm. Ariel clapped her hands excitedly before exiting the locker room. Moana quickly pulled on her swimsuit to meet the rest of the team outside.
Elsa stood in front of the bleachers with a whistle around her neck and a basket of timers under one arm. "Okay guys, today I really just want to focus on improving our times. Even though the meet is pre-seeded, being the fastest in your heat will definitely put us in a good place for State Finals," she explained.
The team just quietly nodded before climbing off of the bleachers and finding a swim lane. No one ever really wanted to argue with Elsa. She wasn't mean or anything but she was a little intimidating. Clearly, she was qualified enough to be swim captain, and she took that role very seriously.
Ariel was too busy talking to Anna on the bleachers to notice that the team had dispersed, so Moana reluctantly went over to tap her on the shoulder.
"Have we started?" she asked. "I'm coming I swear, I was just telling Anna that she should be on the team next year," she told Moana without taking a breath.
Anna sheepishly tucked her face into her two braids. "Oh please, my sister got all the swimming genes," she insisted.
Being Elsa's younger sister, Anna waited for Anna on the pool bleachers when she had swim practice. When Moana first arrived, she had hardly noticed that they were sisters, with Elsa having stark blonde hair and Anna's being more strawberry-blonde. Plus they had totally different demeanors. While Elsa was mostly stoic and reserved, Anna was like Ariel, bubbly and energetic.
The two girls left Anna on the bleachers to begin practicing. Ariel sat on the edge of a pool with a timer in hand, kicking her legs back and forth as she observed Moana's butterfly stroke.
After a few laps, Moana emerged from the water, releasing a large exhale as she looked at Ariel expectantly.
"Hey that was pretty good!" she said surprisingly. "Almost better than mine," she then added with a smirk. Moana chuckled and took a moment to catch her breath when all of a sudden a large figure burst into the gym.
"This is a closed practice!" Elsa yelled without turning around to see who the figure was. Moana herself was trying to clear her goggles to see who had just entered.
"Come on, it's me!" the figure boomed.
When Moana finally managed to remove her goggles, she instantly recognized who it was.
That's Maui Taranga, she remembered Mulan saying just earlier in the week when she saw him at the bulletin board. Only this time, he didn't have a shirt to cover the mass amount of tattoos on his body.
"Maui," Elsa began in a chastising voice, "you know you're suspended for the season."
Suspended? Moana thought.
"That doesn't mean I can't watch," Maui retorted, hugging an uncomfortable Elsa from the side.
Elsa sighed. "Fine, fine. Alright let go!" she protested playfully. Maui released her from his hug with a smug grin. He dove into the pool, splashing everyone in the area with water.
Moana watched attentively as he swam through the water with ease. It was like he was made to swim. When he finally returned to the surface for air, he gasped and ran his fingers through his hair. Maui opened his eyes and locked eyes with Moana, who didn't realize that she had been staring for so long. Embarrassed, she turned away and pretended to be adjusting her swim cap.
"How'd he get suspended?" Moana whispered to Ariel, fighting every urge to turn back around and look at Maui.
Ariel who was off in her own dreamland snapped out of it and looked over towards where Maui was wading in the water. "Oh my gosh you wouldn't believe, he got in a fight at the last swim meet." Moana raised her eyebrows intrigued, hoping that Ariel would provide more of a story. "The meet was held here at the school so naturally it made us look bad. Headmaster even made him volunteer for that fundraiser thing as punishment in addition to being suspended." Moana stayed silent. Why would he have gotten into a fight? "Such a shame too, he was one of the fastest on the team," Ariel finally added.
Ariel's attention was soon pulled away by one of her sisters. Well... all of her sisters since the whole Triton clan was on the team.
"Ariel come time us! Andrina thinks she's faster than me!" one of her sisters yelled, beckoning for Ariel to go over.
Ariel sighed as her sisters began to bicker on the other side of the pool. "Ugh, I'll be right back" she groaned, leaving Moana alone in her swimming lane.
Anna sat at the very top of the pool gym bleachers where hopefully she wouldn't get splashed with water. Being that Elsa, her sister, and the swim captain, was her ride home, she sat through swim practice every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. She didn't mind though since she usually got a lot of homework done during those hours. And luckily, she finished her German essay right as they were finishing up.
"Anna!" she heard a voice say. Anna looked up to find the source of the voice.
"Kristopher!"
He looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "I-It's Kristoff," he corrected her awkwardly, ruffling his hair.
"Oh," Anna said sheepishly, "Right."
Kristoff, along with being the only boy on the swim team, was known as a pretty pathetic flirt. Last year Anna heard that he gave a girl a rock as a gift. Maybe (hopefully) she heard that wrong. Kristoff would often come over to talk to Anna at the end of practice, although he'd always default to talking about his dads'-
"...my dad's gas station sometime. Got the best crushed ice in town!" Anna gave him a weak smile. Not that she didn't like Kristoff but they didn't have much in common. "Anyways, what's this I hear about Elsa not going to Prom?" he asked.
"She's graduating early so after the State meet she's done with school. Doesn't see the point in going I guess," Anna explained.
What she didn't tell Kristoff was the Elsa was actually moving to Alaska right after the State meet to live with their grandparents. They owned the 'Ski Castle Resort' in Juneau where Elsa would work. Anna knew that after Elsa graduated she would leave, but Anna just didn't realize she'd be going so far, and so soon. She thought maybe Elsa would stay in Florida and go to college. But Elsa wasn't happy here, and Anna could tell. Most of her stuff was already packed so she could leave immediately, missing Prom in the process.
"Oh...but it's Prom!" Kristoff whined.
Anna chuckled. "Tell her that." She eyed Kristoff suspiciously, "Why do you ask?"
"I dunno," Kristoff said with a shrug, "I like Elsa. She's a great captain and she deserves to have fun in her senior year."
Anna didn't realize how much Kristoff cared about her sister. They have been on the swim team together though for a few years now. "Well, then why don't you ask her to go with you. Maybe then she'll go," she suggested, half trying to get rid of him as her sister was coming out of the locker room.
"That's...not exactly what I had in mind," Kristoff mumbled, rubbing the back of his head and then looking back up at Anna.
But Anna wasn't paying too much attention. After saying it out loud, she realized that she had just come up with a genius idea. Get someone to ask Elsa to Prom! That way she could stay in town a little long and she'd realize how much fun high school can be.
"Ready, Anna?" Elsa asked as she approached the two. Her swim bag was swung over one shoulder and her keys jingled in her hand.
"Yup! Let's go! Thanks, Kristoff!" Anna exclaimed as she jumped off the bleachers, bouncing behind Elsa towards the exit.
"Y-Yea, sure, o-of course," Kristoff stammered, letting his goodbye wave falter.
The Oldenburg sisters pulled up to their mansion-of-a-house in Elsa's blue Mini-cooper. The fountain in the front had started spurting water since it was finally Spring. As per usual, when they opened the front door the house was empty. Their parents often went on business trips together across the globe. Sometimes they were gone for weeks at a time.
The two girls went up to their rooms, Elsa slamming her shut while Anna just let her backpack drop to the floor. Elsa always shut herself in her room alone. Anna hated to think that high school was really that awful that she had to keep to herself. But as far as she knew, no one bullied her, and Elsa was well-known as the swim captain.
As Anna crossed the hallway, she stopped at her sister's door longingly. She raised her fist to knock on the door but just as soon dropped it and abandoned the idea.
Anna headed downstairs to try to fix herself something to eat for dinner. Of course, the fridge was stocked but Anna wasn't much of a cook. She opted for a chocolate bar in the meantime and turned on the TV.
As Anna was halfway through watching an episode of Dancing with the Stars, Elsa came downstairs. She watched her sister rummage through the fridge from the corner of her eye, not saying a word.
That's when Anna decided to go into the kitchen. She leaned against the half of the fridge that Elsa didn't have open and looked at her with a wide grin. "Hey! I have an idea! Why don't we bake cookies and decorate them with little flowers and stuff for Spring? You know, like old times?" Anna suggested, pulling out a tub of frosting from inside the fridge.
Elsa sighed, still searching for something adequate to eat. "Not now Anna," she said, not even looking at her sister, "I'm kinda busy, I've got a lot of homework to finish." Kinda busy. That's what she always said.
They never did anything together anymore.
Without realizing it, Anna had repeated her thoughts out loud.
"Yeah well, I'm leaving soon," was all Elsa said, "I don't really have the time to always do stuff with you, Anna."
Anna was hurt. She watched as Elsa took a salad out of the fridge and headed upstairs without another word. Was that really all she had to say? Did she just not care about Anna anymore? It's not like she was actually doing any work. Surely graduating within the next week meant that she didn't have much to do.
Whatever, Anna thought, I have other friends. Anna picked up her phone and contemplated texting Ariel and Rapunzel for a sleepover. However, she swiftly decided against it. Rapunzel's mom would never let her come over on such short notice. And Ariel, well, between seven sisters and one car, she always showed up hours later than the planned time.
Well... there was always Kristoff.
No, he wouldn't want to come over.
But, maybe it wouldn't hurt?
Before she knew it, Anna's fingers were already drafting a text message to Kristoff.
'Hey! Movie and snow cones at my house? You bring the ice :)'. That should do, Anna thought. But then Anna immediately began to overthink. Why did I just send that? I'm an idiot! She paced around the kitchen, mentally kicking herself when suddenly her phone chimed.
Anna set the phone face down on the counter, unsure whether she wanted to read it or not. She continued pacing before finally taking a deep breath and flipping the phone over. When she took a look at her phone, she smiled at the message. 'Sure, I'll be right over!' it read.
Swim practice was over, and Ariel was in the locker room taking a shower. Her sisters hated waiting for her, but Ariel didn't care and took her time. Her sisters were no doubt trying to flirt with the wrestling team in the parking lot. All of her sisters took showers at home, which is exactly why Ariel didn't. With six sisters, the bathrooms would be occupied for hours.
Both the locker room and the pool gym were empty. Everyone usually clears out within ten minutes, leaving Ariel alone to shower in peace. Her phone was cranked up to the highest volume as she played Frank Ocean's Thinking Bout You. Humming turned into singing, turned into Ariel belting out the lyrics with her entire chest.
When the song was over Ariel figured she had spent enough time in the shower to piss her sisters off. She quickly pulled on the extra clothes from her bag and tucked her phone into her back pocket.
Just as Ariel turned the corner to exit the locker room, there stood Eric with his mouth practically on the floor. Ariel's eyes widened, not knowing what to say. Eric was paralyzed in front of the exit, blocking Ariel's way. His black hair was swished to the side and his ocean-blue eyes were studying Ariel.
Eric had been Ariel's long-time crush. She hated to admit that she often adjusted her route to class based on Eric's schedule. The two of them were cordial but they never exchanged more than a couple of words with each other. Ariel would have given practically anything to be standing this close to him, but at that moment she was too embarrassed. Had he heard me sing? she thought, tucking her bright red hair behind her ear.
"I-wow," was all Eric could muster. Oh, gods, he heard me. "Was that- was that you in there singing?" he asked.
If only Ariel could disappear on the spot. Unable to find her voice, Ariel just nodded meekly.
"That was... amazing!" he exclaimed, running both hands in his hair with excitement. Ariel wore a frightened expression on her face, causing Eric to promptly try and reassure her. "No, I mean it! That was incredible I've never heard anybody sing like that!"
Ariel, who was clutching her swim bag aggressively, loosened her grip and managed to let out a "thanks".
They were silent for a moment, awkwardly looking at the floor. When Ariel looked up, she noticed that Eric was deep in thought. Ariel cleared her voice."Anyways I should probably get-"
Eric cut her off as Ariel tried to walk away, "No wait!"
Ariel looked down to her arm where Eric had a hold of her. No way Eric was actually touching her! Eric softened his grip and let go just as someone called out, "Eric!"
Kristoff strode into the pool gym, waving his arms around like a madman. "Dude, I was waiting for you outside," he said as he approached Ariel and Eric.
Eric laughed, "I didn't see you so I thought you were still in here."
"What's up Ariel?" Kristoff asked as he joined the two in a little circle.
"Kristoff, you won't believe this," Eric began, "Ariel has the most amazing set of pipes-"
"No-no-no-no-no..." Ariel started to protest. She was partly in shock that he knew her name, but him mentioning Ariel's singing to Kristoff made her cheeks turn a bright shade of crimson that almost matched her hair.
"No way!" Kristoff exclaimed as he and Eric engaged in conversation. It seemed like they were talking about Ariel but she couldn't really tell since they began to lower their voices, leaving her out.
Ariel awkwardly shuffled around before turning to leave when she heard "Ariel wait!"
It was Eric once again, his arms extending towards her. He looked between Ariel and Kristoff before finally saying, "Listen, we have a band, and... we'd really like you to sing in it with us."
Kristoff and Eric looked at Ariel waiting for her to reply. Still in shock, Ariel didn't know what to say. A band? Nobody has ever heard her sing before. Not even her sisters! But suddenly it hit her, this meant she'd get to spend time with Eric, get to know him, and maybe even...
"So?" Kristoff asked. Ariel's mind had gotten away from her and she forgot that the two guys were still standing there expectantly.
Ariel took a deep breath. "Sure!" she answered.
The two guys silently cheered, pumping fists and high-fiving Ariel. "Okay, so we actually have practice today and-" Eric began.
"Today?!" Ariel exclaimed.
"Yeah, do you think you could join us? Or..." Eric trailed.
Maybe today was a little too soon. Her sisters were still outside waiting for her and her dad would freak he saw that she hadn't come home with them. But at this point, Ariel was throwing caution to the wind. Her sisters would understand (or maybe not) and she could just text her dad that she's studying with some friends.
"Yup, that works," she finally said.
"Great!" Eric rejoiced as the three of them walked out of the gym together.
An hour later Ariel found herself in Eric's garage, surrounded by music equipment and instruments. Along with Kristoff and Eric, Naveen was also in the band and was sat behind the drum kit. Eric was plugging in a keyboard and Kristoff was warming up his guitar by playing some chords.
Ariel was surprised that Eric's parents didn't mind his stuff taking up all of the space in the garage. Ariel was spinning in circles trying to get a look at everything but she began to get overwhelmed. "I don't play an instrument," Ariel whispered to Eric nervously.
"Don't worry," he told her, "Your voice is your instrument." He was smiling at Ariel in a way that made her cheeks blush once again. He turned to the other guys, "Are we ready?"
"We're still waiting for Vanessa," Naveen shouted over Kristoff who was still playing the guitar.
"Who's Vanessa?" Ariel asked. Kristoff stopped playing and made an O with his mouth.
"Fuck, Eric. She's gonna be pissed," Kristoff said.
Eric just shrugged him off. "She'll get over it," he replied, adjusting some controls on his keyboard.
"Speak of the devil," Kristoff murmured, just as a black Jeep pulled up onto the curb. Ariel and the guys watched as a slim girl with long black hair got out of the car with a sensuous slink. She wore black pointed sunglasses, red lipstick, and a deep blue corset paired with some black skinny jeans.
The garage was silent when she entered. She took her sunglasses off and looked straight at Ariel. Ariel winced as she looked into Vanessa's violet eyes. Were they contacts?
"Who's this?" she sneered, not breaking eye contact with Ariel.
Eric jumped out from behind the keyboard and stood in between the two girls. "This is Ariel. I thought she could be our new lead singer. She's got a great voice," he told her sternly although his voice wavered a bit.
"I'm the lead singer," she shot back, now looking at Eric with a death glare.
"Yes, but you also play bass. You can do background vocals," he suggested. Vanessa just scoffed and walked away.
"I'm getting a water," she announced, heading into Eric's house as if it were hers. Once she was out of sight it was as if the whole garage let out a breath. Ariel had a feeling her reaction could've been much worse.
Kristoff walked over to Ariel, "Don't mind her, she's a little scary but she's kinda cool once you get to know her." But Ariel wasn't sure if she even wanted to get to know her.
"Does she go to Disney High?" she asked.
"Nah, but her aunt does. She's the biology teacher." Once Kristoff said that almost everything made sense. Ms. Ursula was, in Ariel's opinion, the worst teacher in the school. She was a bit on the heavier side, but Ariel could see the resemblance as she wore bright red lipstick just like Vanessa. Ms. Ursula was already strict as it is, and it didn't help that she held a grudge against Ariel since the beginning of the year for breaking some lab equipment.
When Vanessa entered the garage once again, everyone stiffened. Eric handed Ariel a microphone before walking back over to his station. "Okay Ariel, we're just going to play a little tune and then you can jump in when you feel like it," Eric instructed her. Ariel just nodded anxiously as Naveen counted down with his drum sticks.
"One, Two, One Two Three Four!"
Flynn laid reclined in his tan Chevrolet Impala just enough so that Mr. Hades wouldn't see him in his car. Mr. Hades, the assistant principal, often paroled through the school parking lot in a golf cart that could barely fit him, trying to catch students who were skipping. Which was of course, what Flynn was doing. There was no way he was going to German class just so he could flunk a quiz. Besides, it was the last class of the day and he needed to get a nap in.
When the final bell rang it startled Flynn awake. He rubbed his eyes and put his seat back up to see the student body rushing out of the building. Flynn started his car and pulled up to the front of the building and rolled his window down, scouring the crowd for Rapunzel.
"Rapunzel!" he yelled once he caught sight of her, beeping his horn. Rapunzel's large green eyes widened as she tried to find the source of who called her name. Flynn couldn't help but laugh at how pathetically confused she looked, like a deer in headlights. Flynn waved his hand out his window to get Rapunzel to notice him. Finally, when she saw him, she hesitantly walked over to his car.
"Come on, hop in," Flynn told her, unlocking his car door so she could get in.
"What?" Rapunzel asked. Her textbooks were clutched close to her chest. She looked around the surrounding area as if she was afraid someone would see.
"Just come on," Flynn groaned, "I'm not gonna kidnap you, I'm just going to take you somewhere. It's a surprise."
Rapunzel shook her head adamantly."Flynn, it's a school night, I've got to get home or my mom will freak."
Couldn't she just trust him? "Listen, I'm trying to be nice here if you would just get in the car."
Rapunzel pursed her lips, taking a survey once again of her surroundings. She heaved a sigh but finally said, "Fine, but we have to stop by my house. I have to at least look like I was home."
Flynn didn't exactly know what that meant but he didn't question her. Once she hopped into the passenger seat, they sped off.
Flynn took directions from Rapunzel and in a few minutes, they finally arrived at her house. Well... not exactly since Rapunzel ordered Flynn to park all the way down the street. Flynn watched as Rapunzel rushed down the street to an unusually tall house up on a steep hill. Rapunzel climbed the ridiculous amount of stairs that led to the front door and she burst through, slamming it behind her.
Hardly any time passed when Flynn noticed something drop out of a window on the side of the house. Drapes? Soon Rapunzel came out, swiftly sliding down the curtains before yanking on them and stashing them in the bushes. Rapunzel jogged to the car, out of breath and in some new clothes.
"What was that all about?" Flynn asked, half laughing at what he had just witnessed, although extremely curious.
"Just drive," Rapunzel replied.
"A hair salon?" Rapunzel exclaimed in disbelief. Flynn had taken to her to a quaint hair shop downtown that he often frequented.
"Yup!" Flynn turned to face Rapunzel who seemed very troubled. "We're giving you a Prom makeover," he explained, "Great idea, right?"
"Flynn..." Rapunzel started to say.
"Ah, ah, ah." Flynn stopped her. "Look, this is a great way for people to see you in a different light. A new hairstyle will make you look interesting and intriguing. They'll be like 'OMG is that Rapunzel' 'No way'," he said in a mock girl voice.
Rapunzel just looked at Flynn without saying anything. Clearly, this wasn't what she had signed up for when she asked for Flynn's help but he was not backing down.
"Just trust me," he told her as he stepped out of the car.
The two walked into the salon and a small chime rang as they entered the door. Rapunzel stood behind Flynn like a scared child as Flynn canvassed the shop. "Hey! Mrs. Packard!" he suddenly exclaimed when he saw a familiar face, "How're you doing? How's Marge?" Flynn walked over to an elderly woman and greeted her as she put out a cigarette on her station's vanity.
"Flynnie!" she drawled in a raspy tone while hugging him.
"Come on Packard you gotta quit those things, they'll kill ya," he told her as they embraced.
"Yeah, yeah," Mrs. Packard waved him off. "Who's this cutie?" she asked, motioning towards Rapunzel.
"This is my friend from school. She needs a slight makeover. I'm thinking a haircut?" Flynn suggested, taking a step back to stand behind Rapunzel in the mirror to show a suggested length. Rapunzel's hair was actually way too long for her own good. Flynn had nearly tripped on it on the way in.
"No way," Rapunzel interjected, snatching her hair from Flynn's grasp. "My mom will kill me." Flynn laughed but Rapunzel was looking him dead in the eye. "I'm serious," she continued, "I think she'll actually kill me."
Flynn's face turned serious for a moment and he looked at Mrs. Packard who just shrugged. "Ah whatever, she'll just have to get over it. Alright?" Flynn reassured her. Before he knew it, Rapunzel had grabbed hold of his arm and yanked him aside.
"Flynn, you're going to have an old lady cut my hair?" she asked, crossing her arms.
"So you agree to a haircut?" Flynn asked excitedly. Rapunzel looked at him with a menacing glare. "Look, it'll be fine, I go to her all the time. She cuts my hair and it looks great!"
His comment didn't seem to make Rapunzel any more at ease but she dropped the conversation and turned around to face Mrs. Packard once again.
Flynn rubbed his hands together and patted Rapunzel on the shoulder. "Alright! I'm going to leave you two alone but I'll just be right over there," he told her, pointing towards some seats at the front of the salon. "Oh and uh... don't answer any of her questions with too much detail, she's a bit of a gossip," he whispered to her before giving her a thumbs-up as he slowly backed away.
Flynn took a seat in one of the salon chairs in the waiting area. He picked up a magazine and shuffled around in his seat as he tried to get comfortable. He started to skim through the magazine, peeking at Rapunzel every once and a while when suddenly his eyelids got very heavy...
Flynn woke up to someone violently tapping him on his shoulder. The magazine was sprawled across his chest and a bit of drool was sliding down his chin. He quickly sat up and wiped his mouth. When he looked up he couldn't believe his eyes.
It was Rapunzel and yet... it wasn't? He hardly even recognized her as she stood in front of him. Her long blonde hair was now cut into a short choppy bob. And yes, Flynn knew what a choppy bob was. Her hair was also now dyed a dark brown color that complimented her skin tone perfectly, making her cute little freckles stand out.
"Do you like it?" Rapunzel finally asked, her gorgeous... yet ridiculously round eyes looking at him expectantly.
Before Flynn could even get a word out Mrs. Packard interrupted. "Of course he does honey it looks great."
Flynn simply nodded as he stood up from the chair. "A-After you," he stammered, motioning towards the front door of the salon.
Rapunzel exited while Flynn thanked Mrs. Packard and handed her a wad of cash. He then jogged over to his car where Rapunzel was waiting. He opened the passenger door for her and they both got settled into the car. Flynn was silent. He couldn't help but admire how amazing Rapunzel looked.
"You look-" he started, but Rapunzel just rolled her eyes and laughed.
"Just drive," she told him with a grin. Flynn chuckled and started his car, peeling out of the salon parking lot.
"I told you she'd do a great job," he said as they drove down the street.
