The door to the department was opened with force. Judy had a lot of patience, which was not in question. But Nick managed to finish her off. Seeing her partner in that state only took her mind off from her tasks. And it was normal for her to worry about him. The friendship was great, and Judy felt a lot of affection for that fox. But his stubbornness only ended up upsetting her.

"Oh, good morning Judy!" cheerfully, the cheetah greeted her just like every day. In his paws, the cell phone as usual. On the screen, Gazelle's sexy dances.

"Good morning." The doe tried to disguise her temper, but she knew her tone had come off differently than usual.

"What's wrong?" Clawhauser questioned her and roamed around with his eyes looking for the fox.

"He's coming later." She replied, realizing the question that was going to be asked.

"Oh!"

"If you don't mind, I'll go to the office. Bogo wants the paperwork by the end of the day." Judy softened her voice and faced the cheetah. She forced the softest smile possible and strode away to the second floor where the duo's office was located.

Clawhauser stared at the doe until she disappeared from his field of vision.

I wonder what happened?

He wondered since it was strange to see the romantic pair walk in, without being together. Oh yes, to him, they were already a couple. Although they both constantly denied each other as soon as the cheetah questioned them when the wedding was.

The door was closed tightly. The chair was turned, and Judy sat down. She was thankful that both desks were in opposite positions, with the backs of the chairs makes the ones facing each other.

I wondered what was so bad that it was stealing his sleep.

A question that would not be answered so quickly. And if it were to be answered shortly. Judy took the papers at her side and divided them in two. One part would do in the morning. The other would fill the afternoon nicely. Maybe later she would talk to her partner, but at that moment it was out of the question.

Nick arrived shortly afterward. His espresso had been dumped in the trash before he entered the department. With a finicky expression, he greeted Clawhauser, at which the cheetah only waved back.

Really! Something had happened.

He walked up the stairs and opened the door. Judy twitched her ears at the sound of the latch but kept her eyes fixed on the papers in front of her. She wasn't about to give in. She would not be the first to apologize.

Two hours passed in silence. The fox's physical weariness called for him to get up to get another cup of coffee. Nick put his pen down on his desk and stood up. He walked to the door but stopped.

"Would you like something from the cafeteria?"

"Water, please."

And he left. Outside, he sighed. It would not be today that they would make up. Nick sidestepped the door and went down the stairs. Skirting around to his left side, he entered the cafeteria. Inside were two of his colleagues that are talking about something. He greeted them and went toward the coffee machine. He turned it on. While waiting for it to warm up, he sidled over to his right side to the machine containing the water bottles. He took a coin from his pocket and put it in the machine. After pressing the button, the water fell out and he bent down to remove the small bottle. It was at this moment that on TV, the journalist's voice caught his attention. He checked the watch on his wrist to see what time it was.

Too early for the news!

He pondered. The tlick indicating that the coffee machine was already warmed up, caught his attention. He went to it again, but the coffee and the cup in and pressed the button. However, the journalist's voice insisted on catching his attention. Only then did he lay his eyes on the screen.

"We resume with this morning's opening news story. The robbery of the prestigious Sapphire bank has caused disastrous sequences to the buildings around it, causing injuries and deaths. The robbers stole about a million dollars. In their escape, they killed unsuspecting civilians who were in that area. Police officers are already on the scene, with even more expected to arrive. Everyone from Zootopia has been triggered, including the fire department from the various regions."

"A non-penetrable security bank. It has its flaws, after all." Said one of his colleagues who were there.

Nick picked up his coffee and started toward the door of the coffee shop.

"We got some detailed information about the robbers." Nick stopped and fixed his attention back on the television. "Chris Baltimore, 34 years old, and Erik Daltoki, 25 years old. They are..."

The reporter continued to speak, but Nick had stopped listening. Shock. Yes, shock. He couldn't believe what his eyes were reflecting.

"Wilde! Hopps! To the chief office." The voice of Clawhauser on the speaker caught their attention.

Nick left his water and coffee on the table and ran, literally, from there and up the stairs until he reached the chief office. Judy arrived seconds later. Nick knocked on the door and Bogo permitted them to enter.

What's wrong with him?

The doe watched him in silence. He was panting and looked as if he had seen something terrifying. The buffalo in front of them sighed in an angry sigh.

"I know you shouldn't go to the streets today, but there have been some changes of plans."

"What's going on Chief?" asked Judy confused.

"This morning it seems there was a robbery at the Sapphire bank. I've only just been informed."

"The Sapphire bank?" Judy was perplexed. A bank with such high security had been robbed. How was that possible?

"I got that same expression, Hopps." Bogo scratched his head. "Whether they are dumb or not, I don't even know. However, they manage to rob this bank, they are brave."

"What do you need us to do, chief?" Nick took the floor. He tried to keep his tone of voice calm, but Judy became aware of the anger in there.

"We need you to gather information about the thieves. Our department became famous after the Bellwether case. We have designated the department that specializes in catching dangerous criminals and you are the prestigious agents." Bogo said without emotion.

"Just information?" Judy asked.

"At the moment yes. If anything else is needed, I will contact you."

"Right."

"Bring as much information as you can and then we'll take more concrete action."

"Yes, chief." They both said at the same time.

However, Nick was boiling inside. He didn't want to believe what his eyes had seen. It couldn't be. If those two were them, then Nick knew that from that moment on, the danger would be in their lives.

To be continued…
