Mya Gilmore was called gay because she likes gay ships.

SO WHAT IF SHE THINKS GAY COUPLES ARE CUTER THAN STRAIGHT ONES!

(The homophobic hate must stop!)

Wise Words From Zara Baylor

After school every Wednesday, Zeke has afternoon church with his aunt, uncle, and cousins. Zeke only likes going to hand out with Michael, Zara, Makayla, and Zion Jr. Hey, even though he's kind of homophobic, Michael is still a nice guy. Zeke's parents don't go to Wednesday service because they both have work Wednesday afternoon.

"Hey guys!" Zeke said when his aunt Mackie and Uncle Zion Sr. picked him up. "How's it going?" He got in the car and shut the door.

"Good." Makayla and Zion Jr. answered in union. They're twins, and even though ones a girl and ones a boy, they might as well share a brain. Almost everything they do they do it together.

"You're not dressed for church." Zeke said to Zara.

Zara was in wearing a pink and black shirt that said 'Flawless' on it with some jean shorts. Her shoes were black converses, with black socks. To complete the look, she had diamond earrings in and her hair was in a high poufy ponytail. "I'm visiting the Lord's house in style." She said. Zara has changed since the 1st grade where she had a Barbie obsession and always wore tutus and light up sketchers. 9th grade changed her.

"I told her to put on a dress." Aunt Mackie turned around in her seat and glared at Zara. "But her ass never wants to listen to what the fuck I tell her."

"Mackie, she's growing up." Uncle Zion said. "When you grow up, you change."

"Thank you daddy." Zara laughed as she typed something in her phone and smiled.

"I wouldn't be surprised if she got a tattoo before she graduated." Michael said, earning a punch in the arm from Zara. Zara used to do girl's boxing, so she's pretty good at throwing punches.

"Zara, I need to talk to you about something later." Zeke said to her. "It's really urgent."

"Oooh, a secret!" Makayla exclaimed, turning to them. "Do tell!"

"Fuck off." Zara growled.

"What did you just say?!" Uncle Zion glared at her through the rearview mirror. Zara made a frightened face, then to her surprise, her dad smiled. "You actually say 'Mind your own fucking business.' " He laughed.

Everybody laughed except Aunt Mackie. "Why did I marry you again?" She shook her head with a smile as she looked out the window and turned up the radio.

"What do you need to talk to me about?" Zara whispered to Zeke.

Zeke looked at Makayla, Zion Jr., and Michael to make sure they weren't listening. Thankfully, they were not. They were singing and dancing to a Whitney Houston hit that Aunt Mackie often played and sung. "It's about being gay." He answered in a whisper.

Zara bit her bottom lip and pointed outside. "We'll talk when we get to the church, ok?"

Zeke nodded. "Ok." He knew Zara would talk to him about everything that needs to be covered. Talking with Zara was like talking with a therapist. She always knew what to say to calm Zeke down or avoid arguments. Zara and Zeke always talked about the important things in life. Like college, or romance, or the latest Nikes and Converses. Yup. Only important conversation between these two.

When they got to the church, everyone walked ahead while Zara and Zeke tagged behind. "Is it Mr. Ocean Eyes again?" Zara asked when they were out of earshot."

"Yeah." Zeke answered. "And his name is Ryan." Just saying Ryan's name woke up Zeke's butterflies. "Ryan?! Where's Ryan?! We want Ryan!" They would yell, flying around in circles.

"Same difference." Zara laughed. "Now, what's wrong?"

"I'm confused Zara." Zeke said. "I like him, but I have been pretending to like his twin sister because-"

"You're scared of what people might think." Zara finished. "Zeke, your friends and family shouldn't care what you do with your life." She explained. "Everybody has a life. It's their problem how they live it. No one can make your choices because you're your own person and who's independent. Do you know what I'm saying here?"

Zeke nodded. "So if my friends say, 'Zeke, you're gross!' when I come out, (If I come out) I should just tell them to fuck off?"

Zara smiled. "Exactly. If they tear you down not lift you up, they're not your real friends. And as for the family..." She paused in thought. "If they don't understand, explain. I know I'm the one who does all the convincing around here, but you'll do fine. Why?" She spun on her toes, then winked at Zeke. "Because you're a Baylor."

"Thanks Zar Zar." Zeke said with a smile. He hugged his cousin gently.

"The fuck ya'll doing out here?" Michael asked, walking out the door.

"We're coming Mike." Zara said as she made her way in the building, Zeke behind her.

So Zara Maria Baylor is the wisest 14 year old Zeke has ever met. She's like... Maya Angelou. (Speaking of Maya Angelou, Zara loves her poems) When it was time to go home, Zeke wasn't sure if he was ready to come out. He's really still confused about the "Gay is wrong" thing. He knows that people who are older all agree on that, but things are different now.

But how is Zeke's family gonna see that?

Zeke walked to his room quite tired from the praising and testimonies. He flopped on his bed and pulled out his phone. He had a text message from some one.

Ryan: Hey Zeke, Shar wanted to knw if yur free 2 come wth us 2 the dress place in a few days

Zeke gasped to himself. Hanging out with Ryan?! How could he say no to that?! But how long is 'in a few days?' Might as well just reply and keep it moving... (and not start a awkward conversation about something like the importance of shaving)

Zeke: Sure

Ryan: Cool! We'll C U there :)

Zeke held his phone close to his chest. He couldn't wait to hang out with Ryan. Oh, and Sharpay too. (But mostly Ryan) Maybe if he keeps agreeing to do stuff with Sharpay, he'll get to hang out with Ryan too! *Light Bulb!*
