The Legend of Zelda Ocarina Of Time: A Twist of Fate: The Original

Well, after leaving the only home that I had ever known, I decided to make my way to Hyrule Castle like the Great Deku Tree hadInstructed me to do. But little did I know that meeting the Princess of Destiny would change my life in ways that I would have never imagined.

Zelda, Impa And Saria

As I left Lon Lon Ranch, I started humming Saria's song as I skipped along the dirt path. "I wonder what the princess is like? N-now I-I'm nervous... I hope she's nice!" Navi laughed at my actions as I began humming Epona's song, as I saw Hyrule castle up ahead. I sighed when I realized I would need to sneak into the castle... I hated being sneaky, but there was nothing I could do about it. However as I approached the gate a Guard stopped me.

"Hay kid! You know it's dangerous for kids to be out at night? I'll have to let your parents know! If you don't go home!" I looked up at him with confusion as I asked. "What's a parent? Do they eat you if you don't do what they like?" The guard scowled as he spoke with annoyance. "Look kid! I'm not joking with you! now go home!" I flinched as I turned to leave, I turned back to the guard with an icy glair as I hissed. "I can't! Ohh and by the way... the forest spirits are angry! They don't trust adults! My friends and I don't know anything about the outside world! Do you know why! It's because the Kokiri never leave the forest... and if they do they'll die!" I turned away with a scowl as Navi landed on my shoulder, as she whispered. "Um... Link? When did you start talking with the Forest Spirits?" I raised an eyebrow as I answered. "I've always been able to... wait I never told you? I'm sorry I guess I forgot to tell you!" I replied as I put my hands behind my back shyly. A sudden crow made me jump as the gates opened I ran to where the castle was. I was glad to get away from that Guard, because I was still fuming with anger. As I ran I told Navi. "It's not my fault that I'm a Kokiri! We never leave the forest... he acted like I was stupid! Are all adults that rude?" A huffed in anger as I continued onwards. Navi sighed as she spoke calmly. "Link! Please, calm down... you need to calm down! You don't want the Princess to think that you are mad at her, do you?" Navi said as she landed on my shoulder. I sighed, my fairy was right... I took a deep breath as I calmed my angry thoughts. I sighed tiredly as I continued on at a slower pace.

"H-how did you get past all of the guards?" A sudden voice spoke causing me to hide behind a nearby tree as I let out a startled squeak. The girl smiled warmly as she spoke once more. "No need to be scared... I'm not going to bite!" She remarked with a small laugh, as I nervously poked my head out from behind the tree. "Nice to meet you! I'm Princess Zelda, but you can just call me Zelda." I nodded as I looked down at the ground shyly. Then after a moment of silence the sound of a dagger being drawn caused me to let out a high pitch scream as I climbed up the tree I had Previously been hiding behind. Zelda jumped in surprise and alarm at the high pitched noise. "I-Impa? Was that necessary? I'm not in danger... and I think you've managed to traumatize a Kokiri girl!" Zelda said with worry as she looked up at me. I clung to the branch that I was on... "Now I really wanted to go home!" I thought to myself as I began to shake in fear As Impa sheathed her weapon as Zelda tried to coax me out of the tree.

"Please... Impa is my guardian, she was only doing her job! Oh and I forgot to ask you... what's your name?" I stared wide eyed in panic as I spoke as my voice cracked. "L-L-Linkette... t-that's m-my n-name, i-it's v-very nice to m-meet y-you." I said as I gave a nervous bow. After more coaxing I slowly climbed down the tree, however my eyes were downcast.

I smiled shyly up at Zelda's father, I had been very nervous when Zelda had told me. "Come on! You have to meet my father!" I tried to bolt and run but Zelda softly pulled my arm. I was brought out of my thoughts when Zelda's father spoke to me. "So my daughter says that you're from the forest? So I assume that means that you are one of the Kokiri children that live in the forest?" I slowly nodded as I smiled shyly. "And what is your name, forest child?" The king asked as I took a deep breath, "M-My name is L-Linkette... It's v-very nice t-to m-meet you y-your m-majesty." I stuttered nervously as I bowed. The king smiled as he replied. "Link? Now that's a nice name! It's very nice to meet you Link!" At those words my heart sunk, Zelda, her father and even Impa thought that I was a boy. So far only Malone, his mom, Saria, and the Skull Kids were the only ones who knew that I was a girl. Even my own fairy partner thought that I was a boy... why me? Why do people keep assuming that I am a boy? Can't they tell that I'm wearing a headband? I fidgeted nervously as I look from Zelda to her father, they were looking at me with concern.

"Link? Are you okay? Is something wrong?" Zelda asked as she stepped closer to me as I looked down at the floor. "Hay! Zelda's talking to you Link!" Navi yelled in irritation as she yanked on my hair. "Ouch! Navi! What was that for!" I shrieked as my fairy hit me on the head. "I'-I'm sorry Princess Z-Zelda! I was lost in thought... Oh and I a-apologize for screaming. My fairy pulls at my hair w-when she g-gets Irritated o-or a-angry a-at me!" I bowed my head in shame as Zelda gave me a soft smile. "It's alright Link, no need to worry! Now... what's bothering you?" Zelda asked as she looked at me with a stern but kind gaze. I sighed as I spoke up shyly, "W-well... I'I'm not a b-boy, I'-I'm a- girl." I remarked as Zelda's eyes widened in shock and surprise. Zelda's face then went red in embarrassment ss she turned her gaze from mine. I lowed my head once more as I held back tears. That was the same gaze that all of the Kokiri gave me... well except for Saria of course. it was silent for a few minutes, then as Zelda regained her composure she spoke up. "I'm sorry Linkette... I'ts just... well I have never seen a Kokiri!" I nodded in understanding. In fact i was was one of the polite Kokiri, I was very ladylike and modest. Saria taught me well.. oh an another thing about me is my main outfit is a short sleeved forest green dress with a long sleeved sweater over it, for shows I wore forest green boots and as I said before I wore a forest green headband to keep my hair in place.

"Linkette? Linkette! Are you awake?" I sat up as I cleared my vision, I fell back down when the world began to spin. I tried to stand but I couldn't, and Zelda caught me before I could hit the floor. Zelda gently guided me downstairs as I kept stumbling and tripping over my own feet. Apparently both Zelda and I were very disheveled, because Zelda's father spoke up sternly. "Zelda! I thought I told you to always be presentable?" Then Impa cut in as she let out a small gasp. "Oh and what in the thee moons happened to you child?" I looked up and the look on Impa's favece caused me to hide behind Zelda. "Goodness child! You've run yourself ragged, have you even slept at all?" I shook my head slowly as I looked towards Navi. "Navi! You're this child's Guardian fairy right? You need to look out for her, don't push her to her limits." then she turned to Zelda and said. "Princess, please take Linkette to get bathed and I'll have some clean clothes for her." Zelda's face brightened as she spoke politely. "Impa? Linkette can borrow a pair of my clothes." I looked at Zelda in shock as I looked at the king.

"It's fine young one! I'm just glad my daughter has a knew friend." I smiled as I had a wonderful idea. "Um... your majesty? May I asked a question? princess Zelda told me that she lerns about other people and races as part of her lessons... so? I was wondering is, may I teach Zelda about my people.. the children of the forest, the Kokiri!" I looked away in shame for even asking, but the look of excitement on Zelda's face caused her father to agree. "Zelda! After breakfast you two girls will bathe and then your new lessons will start! Understand!" Zelda was trying her best not to squealed with excited, as I laughed quietly. Zelda had confided in me, she told me that her lesson were boring. So i had planned this with Impa's help last night. And in return for her help I asked her to help me with lessons in etiquette Lady like manners and modesty. she agreed as we would have our lesson in the castle Gardens, Zelda would help to of course. "Saria will be so proud of me!" I thought in glee and pride.

I stayed at the castle for about two weeks, I had learned a whole lot in that time. And Zelda had taught me how to knit. I knitted a few knew tunics fr Sari and I even made myself a few. I even learned that the Kokiri had there own language. But none of us use it now but I learned out of interest and Curiosity. Zelda had even asked her father if she could give me a few of her old dressed, and her father had agreed. Zelda's father was like a human version of the Great Deku Tree, I had called him such a few times by accident, and I politely apologized afterwords.

I skipped to the Sacred Forest Meadow, with the rapped bundle in my arms as I hummed Saria's Song. As I approached my best friend looked up from playing her Ocarina as she saw me. "Linkette! You're back, you kept you're promise!" I smiled as I replied. "Saria? I have something for you!" I was bouncing on the heels of my feet in excitement as I handed Saria the bundle. She opened the bundle to see tunics of red, green and blue, and headbands and boots of the same color. Saria's jaw dropped in shock as she looked up at me. I smiled shyly as I sat on my knees with my hand modishly on my lap. "Linkette? how did you..." Saria splattered in shock as I smiled shyly, I still had that habit along with a few others. "Princess Zelda taught me how to knit! If you like I can teach you... and any other Kokiri who want to learn!" I exclaimed excitedly.

I was wearing a teal bleu Kokiri dress, it had silver blue flows painted on it, I was wearing a teal blue headband in my hair, and to finish the outfit I was wearing teal blue furred boots. Saria was wearing the same outfit that I was, we were so close that we felt like we were sisters. Today was the firt day that I would be teaching the Kokiri how to nit, the ones that wanted to learn were, Saria, Fado, Sapphire, Dawn, Willow and Twila. There fairy's came with them as well, a Kokiri is never seen for long without there fairy partner.

And it was perfect timing as well, because the spring festival would be coming up in about two weeks. Usually we would all ware forest green tunics but now all the girls had new pretty dress. And at midnight we would all dance under the glow of the full moon, while Saria and I played the music on our matching ocarina's. Of cource the main song we played was Saria's Song, and later into the night both Saria and I would go to the Sacred Forest Meadow.
