OneSadKataangWriter: I'm glad you like the quotes. I wish I could take credit, but that goes to the Fast and the Furious creators. As for the ten-second car, you'll find out what happens when you read.
Zayatlafan: I'm glad you're enjoying the action scenes. I was worried I wouldn't do the movies justice. As for Sokka, he seems like he's slowly opening up to Aang, which means you might see some terrible jokes and sarcasm from the guy we all know and love! Glad to see you're still on board; it's only going to go up from here!
TheQuietReader23: So glad you've been enjoying the chapters! Aang is so easy, yet so fun to write. It's hard not to laugh and be happy when I write his dialogue; he's just naturally happy and always makes everyone around him happy. The bromance is slowly but surely coming together. I'm even excited to see how I decide to take it.
Phieillydinyia: So glad you like the action! In the movies, Aang's car would eventually get blown up before Sokka could take it, but I just couldn't do it. It makes him so happy. Suki is a badass, and I wouldn't have written her any other way. Same for Toph, she may be a car nerd, but she knows how to make her presence made.
Anayeli12: I'm glad my story made you want to watch the movie :). The first movie, I think, will always be the best. So glad you're enjoying the story. I hope this one lives up to your expectations :).
Naravilhosa: So glad you stopped by Nara! I'm excited to see what you think of my other chapters as well :).
Disclaimer: I do not own The Fast and the Furious or ATLA
The man with the machine pistol pointed the gun right at Aang's head before he spoke. "Follow us," the man said. They drive for a few minutes being 'escorted' by this motorcycle gang. Aang was very nervous, but he had always learned how to keep calm in sticky situations like these.
They pulled into a plaza. Aang looked up and saw a giant sign that read 'Eyak Food & Market'. Huh, weird place to bring someone when you're threatening people at gunpoint, he thought.
As they stopped in an area hidden from the streets, the biker gang took off their helmets while Aang and Sokka got out of the car.
Aang remained calm, he was still a little unsettled being held at gunpoint, but Sokka acted like this was an everyday thing. Does Sokka know these guys? he thought.
Before he could ponder further, the leader of the group spoke. "I thought we had an agreement," he said. "You stay away. I stay away. Everybody stays happy." He gave Aang and Sokka an disconcerting glare.
Sokka did his best to play it off. "We got lost. What do you want me to tell you?" he admitted. To be fair, that wasn't a lie. They were bolting from the cops.
"Who's 'we'?" he questioned. Sokka got the gears going trying to come up with a valid excuse. Then, he had a lightbulb moment.
Keeping a serious facade, he spoke. "He's my new mechanic. Aang, meet Hahn Eyak. Hahn, this is my mechanic, Aang."
Sokka tried to keep a serious face but couldn't after introducing Aang to Hahn's cousin.
"And the shorty over there with the snakeskin tights holding us at gunpoint is Hahn's cousin, Hasook," Sokka added. Aang hadn't thought to look at Hasook ever since he showed up with a gun, but now that he had a chance to see, he couldn't stop himself from bursting out with laughter.
Hasook shoved the gun in Sokka and Aang's direction. "What is so funny, assholes?" he threatened. Aang, now feeling less threatened knowing the guy's taste in clothing, decided to speak up.
"What's funny," Aang said out of breath from laughing so much, "is your choice in clothing!"
Hasook tried to threaten them more. "Do you realize I have a GUN? I can mow you down right where you stand!" he growled.
Sokka decided it was time to wrap this up. "Hasook, if you think people are gonna feel threatened by a dude with those pants, you must have a couple of screws loose."
Hasook just growled and gave up. Hahn, finally able to speak, decided to pry them of what he's been dying to know ever since he and his gang pulled them over.
"So," he asked, putting his hands together, looking at Aang, "This your car?"
Aang, unsure whether to tell the truth or lie, decided to just go for it and tell the truth. "Yeah, the car is mine," he replied anxiously.
Hahn chuckled evilly and ran his hand against the car, admiring it. "Well, you certainly put in the wrench time. What do you think, Hasook?"
"It's a beautiful machine," Hasook replied, almost creepily.
Hahn laughed and went to get back on his back to leave. "Yes, indeed. Alright, let's go," he turned to Sokka. "I'll see you in the desert next month. Be ready to have your ass handed to you."
Knowing Hahn's antics, Sokka never backed down and decided to bring his comedian side back out. "You'll need more than that crotch rocket of yours," he snickered.
Hahn, this time, didn't even look at Sokka, an evil smirk on his face. "Oh, I got something for you, big guy, just you wait."
Aang shook his head a couple of times, wondering how his night went from crazy to insane. "What the hell was that all about?"
Sokka sighed. "Long story. I'll tell you later. Come on, let's get out of here."
They both got in the car. But before they took off, Aang noticed the statue in front of them. "Is that...Tagaka? Why would someone have her as a statue? Wasn't she hated by the whole world and even sent into exile by her own country?"
Sokka shrugged, not sure how to explain Hahn and his family. "Just do what I do, just don't bother thinking about it, and it won't bother you," he said casually as possible.
They drove off into the night, back to Sokka's house. Aang had a hunch Sokka knew more about Hahn than he thought. "So Sokka, who is that guy?" he questioned him.
Sokka didn't want to talk about it, but he knew Aang wouldn't drop it, so he tried to simplify it the best he could. "It's a long story."
As if on command, Aang replied, "Well, we got a 20-minute drive. We got time."
"It was a business deal that went sour," Sokka started. "Plus, I made the mistake of sleeping with his sister."
Aang's eyes widened. He wasn't sure if he should give him a fist bump and laugh or shake his head in disappointment.
After arriving back at Sokka's place, the men shook hands. Sokka thanked him again for helping out big time. Aang told him not to worry about it; he didn't mind helping a friend.
Katara overheard their conversation while studying on her bed. She looked out her window and saw Aang talking to Sokka.
While Aang started to walk off, Sokka noticed the party going on and felt like he should include him too. He also had a plan brewing to get back at the guys that completely ditched him and went back to party instead of looking for him.
"Yo, Aang. You want a beer?" Sokka shouted down the street.
Aang turned around happily. "Definitely, man. I could use one after this wild night. Thanks."
Katara looked down at her clothes, and she panicked. "Shit! I look like a mess!" she shouted in a whisper, hoping no one, especially Aang heard her. She took off her shirt and looked for something cute to wear.
Meanwhile, Aang and Sokka walked into the house and looked around. He saw Zuko with a girl sitting in his lap, and he saw Jet playing a bass guitar trying to impress a girl. Sokka shook his head in utter disappointment. He told Aang to wait at the door while he handled his friends.
First, he walked up to Zuko. Sokka gave him a cold stare, and Zuko gulped, realizing he was in deep shit.
"Yo, Sokka. We were just about to go looking for you, bro," Zuko said anxiously. Sokka continued his disappointed glare and didn't say a word to him. He grabbed Zuko's beer and walked over to Jet.
Sokka looked right into Jet's eyes. "Where were you?" he said flatly.
"There were mass cops there. They came in from every direction. It was an orchestrated setup," Jet shot back.
Sokka grabbed Jet's beer from his grasp. It was still mostly full. "This your beer?" he asked.
"Yeah, that's my beer," Jet sneered. Sokka smirked at him. Not anymore, it isn't, Sokka said in his head.
He turned around t walk back to the front when he saw Toph making out with some guy. Sokka called over to him. "Yo, Einstein. Take it upstairs. You can't detail a car with the cover on," he joked. Man, dude can't even get that right, he thought.
As Sokka walked back to Aang with the beers, Jet became livid at how Sokka was letting Aang walk all over him and also how Aang was quickly stealing his oldest friend. He couldn't hold back his anger.
"Yo, Sokka," he shouted, making sure everyone heard him, "Why did you bring the buster here?"
Sokka became furious. Sure, he had just met Aang, but Aang had kept him out of prison, not to mention that he has been nothing but kind, even after Sokka treated him like shit. "Cause he kept me out of handcuffs! He didn't just run back to the fort! The buster brought me back. That's more than I can say for any of you." he shouted back to Jet.
He turned around and walked over to Aang with a smile on his face. "You can have any brew you want, as long as it's a Corona."
Aang appreciated his gratitude. "Thanks, man."
Sokka looked back at Jet and whispered into Aang's ear. "That's Jet's. So, enjoy it," he said slyly.
Jet became furious. Aang looked Jet right in the eye as he cleaned off the top of the bottle with his shirt and winked at him. He took a swig and enjoyed the taste of the beer on his tongue.
Aang looked back at Sokka and asked if he had a bathroom he could use.
Sokka pointed up the stairs. "Upstairs. First door on the right."
Aang thanked him and went upstairs. Meanwhile, Sokka sat down in a La-Z-Boy drinking his beer when Zuko and Jet came up to him.
"He's got no call being up in here," Jet told him, "You don't know that fool for shit."
Zuko decided to side with Jet on this one. "I think Jet is right, Dom."
Sokka knew they were right. Aang may have been a kind soul, but he only really met him a day or two ago. But he didn't want to throw Aang out. He had grown to like having him around, someone he could call a friend, and maybe one day family.
Suki noticed Sokka was in a tough spot and decided to help him out of the awkward situation.
"You look a bit tired. I think you should go upstairs and give me a massage," Suki said with an evil smirk.
Sokka, not one to pass on an 'opportunity' like this, got right up and left with Suki. Before he went upstairs, he looked back at Aang, who just got back from the bathroom. "Just because I let you keep your car doesn't mean you're off the hook entirely. I want you to find me a ten-second car. You're on the clock," he said with a smile.
Once Suki and Sokka disappeared, Jet and Zuko slowly walked up to Aang. Time felt like it slowed down, and Aang became extremely nervous. It also didn't help that there was a pistol right next to them on the table. Jet spoke first. "Did you wipe the seat?" he said with disgust in his tone.
Before anything could escalate further, Katara came from behind them to save the day. She pushed Jet away and began to shout at him. "Jesus Christ! Would you cut this shit out?" she barked. She then turned back to Aang and laid her hand on his chest, knowing it would piss off Jet. "Come on. Let's go get me a drink". She took Aang's hand and led him into the dining room filled with bottles of various drinks.
As they entered the dining room, Aang turned to Katara. "So, what can I grab ya?" he said with a smile.
Katara smiled back. "Anything is fine, as long as it's cold."
Aang grabbed Katara a peach Snapple. "You know, my brother likes you. He usually doesn't like anybody," she said. She was fascinated with him. She could understand why Sokka opened up to him so easily, but he rarely opens up to someone so quickly.
Aang chuckled and looked up at her. "What can I say? He's a complicated guy."
"Yeah? What about you?" she shot back with a giggle.
Aang shrugged his shoulder and put on a smirk while he gazed into her cerulean blue eyes. "I'd like to think I'm simpler," he said, not taking his eyes off of her. Katara called bullshit and made a 'sureeeee' type of face. "You're a shitty liar." she snickered.
Aang laughed back. He knew she was just toying with him. "Well, I guess I'll take that as a compliment," he said while putting his arm around her.
Katara felt her heart flutter when she heard him laugh and felt his touch. She loved talking to him but still wanted to mess with him a little. "But there's a problem," she said.
Aang's smile faded for a second. "What's that?" he said. Katara noticed his facial expression change and giggled, knowing her 'toying' was working. "You need to get some sleep. And you definitely, definitely need a shower," she said. "Come on. I'll take you home."
She grabbed his shirt near his chest and walked him out to his car. Aang took a moment to take her in as she walked in front of him. Gosh, I am one lucky dude, he thought. I almost pity Jet, but if it means I get to see him jealous and I get to be with her, then that's all I need.
Aang was in his work truck driving along casually when out of nowhere, a cop car pulled around the corner to the street and drove right behind Aang. What the hell? He thought. They turned on their sirens and indicated him to pull over.
The cops got out of the car and aimed their guns at the truck. "Show me your hands," one officer said. Aang complied. "Very good. Now open the door. Put your hands on your head. Face the front of the vehicle, and walk back towards the rear. Take two steps to your right. Stop right there."
Aang complied with all their requests but felt it was fair to ask what was going on. "What's going on? What did I do?"
The other officer told him to shut up and not speak. "He's clean, Sarge," the officer said to the Sergeant. They grabbed Aang and put him in the backseat of the car.
The car arrived at a secluded mansion. The officer pulled right up to the gate. As he got out, he opened the door to let Aang out. He looked at the officer in the eyes and smiled. "Damn! Dorje, will you take these cuffs off? I mean shit, man. You put these on so tight!" he said with a laugh.
Dorje let out a hearty laugh. "Sorry, Aang, I like realism."
The Sergeant opened the gate while speaking to Aang. "You never know who's watching, Aang. It's never too much to be safe rather than sorry," he said with a smirk.
Aang looked around at the mansion. "Nice crib, Sergeant. It's a lot nicer than the last place you confiscated."
Sarge, Aang, and Dorje walked into the mansion. It was turned into a base of operations of some sort.
Sarge walked up to the man in charge. "Okay, here he is, fresh from Aluutiq's hot rod heaven."
The boss looked at Aang and walked towards the back room. "Alright, Jiang, let's hear what you found out," he called back to him. Sarge told Dorje to grab them three decaf coffees.
The men sat down and began discussing an approach. "Four hijackings in two months, and we have nothing," the boss started. "The DVD players and digital cameras that were on those trucks are worth $1.2 million, which brings the grand total to at least $6 million."
Aang turned to Sarge, who followed up the boss's point. "We're in the political crosshairs now, Aang. That's why you're undercover," he said with a serious face. Aang looked a bit flustered. What was he getting himself into? And is building relations with these so-called suspects a good idea?
Most importantly, what happens if he has to come clean? How will Katara react? He cleared those thoughts from his head. He would do his job, but he wanted to make sure it doesn't affect the relationships he has built.
The boss turned back to Aang. He knew Aang wanted to climb the ranks. All he needed to do was do his job. "I know you want that detective badge fast, kid. And you want to know something? The FBI can help if you come through for us," he told Aang.
"What did the truck driver say? Did he give any info that could be useful?" Aang asked the boss and Sarge.
"He gave us the same M.O.," Sarge began. "Three older-gen Ford Mustangs, precision driving, the same green neon glow from under the chassis. Lab says the skidmarks came back the same: Mashamoto ZX tires. So, we know it's somebody in the street-racing world."
The boss spoke again, laying out his plan. "If we don't make this case, the truckers will take matters into their own hands. I tell them we're close. Are you going to make me a liar?" he questioned him, making sure he knew what was at stake.
The gears began churning in Aang's head. "Look, what do we know? We know this world revolves around Aluutiq, right? Now, I'm not saying that he's the one that's popping these trucks, but I can guarantee he knows who is. It's just a matter of time until I win-" the boss cut him off before he could finish.
"You want time, buy the magazine. We don't have time. Just get me something I can use. Okay? That'll be all," the boss said.
As they walked out of the mansion, Sarge turned to Aang. "Is Pasang cooperating?"
Aang chuckled. "Like a guy that'll do three to five for receiving stolen property if he doesn't."
Sarge laughed at his witty remark. "What kind of vibe is he getting from Aluutiq?
Aang put on a serious face before he spoke. "He's scared of him, but he doesn't think he's jacking trucks. He's too controlled for that," he replied.
Before they got to the front gate, Sarge put his hand in front of Aang to stop him. "Wait. Not that I want to contradict Pasang's fine judge of character, but Aluutiq did hard time for nearly beating a guy to death. He's got nitrous oxide in his blood and a gas tank for a brain. Do not turn your back on him," he said with a pointed finger at him.
Aang was good at reading facial expressions, even if they were good at hiding it. He could tell Sarge was serious about this. "Don't worry, Sarge, I'll be fine," he said with a reassuring smile.
A/N: Well that one might've been my favorite chapter yet. And believe me, there will be a lot of good chapters. Did you like how Aang's secret was revealed? How do you think this will change things? Anyways, leave a review if you wouldn't mind, I love responding to them and seeing what you guys think. Adios!
