"Thanks again for coming to stay with us. We really appreciate it." Kyo told his Master while they walked, caring grocery bags in their hands. Tohru wasn't due for another two months but her doctor said there were complications so she had to be on bed rest, which is basically torture for Tohru. Master had come to them to help out around the house. They had just gotten inside the couples small house and gotten their shoes off when there was a loud crash and a cry of pain from the other room. Kyo dropped the bags, letting them roll all over the floor. "Tohru!?" He cried out as he rushed in. He found her sitting on the kitchen floor with broken dishes scattered around her. She was grabbing her stomach and shaking. "Tohru! What are you doing up?! You're supposed be on bed rest!" He ran to her, stepping on the broken glass with his bare feet.

"Your feet..." She groaned. "You'll get hurt!" "Dummy!" He scolded. "I'll be fine! What happened?!" "I was... Going to do the dishes while you were out but... I suddenly felt a... S-sharp pain... I think it's contractions. They keep coming and going." She gasped out. Master came in then.

"We need an ambulance. We're too far from town to walk and we don't have a car." He told his adoptive father, who nodded, who got out his phone and quickly dialed. Kyo put his arms around her and Tohru gripped his shirt with shaky fists.
"They're on their way." Master stated.

"Thank you. I should get-" Kyo started to say and get up but Tohru had a vice grip on him and shook her head vigorously. He hugged her close. "Shhh... It's okay. I'm here." He whispered to her soothingly. "Alright. I'll stay with her. Master..." He turned towards him. "In our bedroom closet there's a packed duffle bag. Please go get it for me. It's her away bag with essentials."

"Of course." Master said and went it grab it.

"It's going to be okay." He said in an attempt comfort both his wife and himself. She nodded weakly. Master brought the bag and they heard sirens outside. "We need to try and get up." He said and tried to pull her to stand but she let out a cry in pain. Master went outside and led the paramedics to the kitchen. They carefully got her a stretcher and brought her to ambulance. Kyo grabbed the duffle bag and quickly followed them. He jumped in next to her. "I'll call if there are any changes." Kyo told his Master, who nodded in affirmation before the doors closed. He took his wifes hand. "When this is over we'll have our baby, okay? Try to think about that." She cried from the pain again and it made him grit his teeth in frustration. "It'll be okay. It'll be okay. It'll be okay." He whispered under breath over and over with her hand against his lips until they arrived at the hospital. She was rushed to a room and the doctor came in to check on her. She was a middle aged woman.

"She's only 3 centimeters dilated. This will be a long one. Get comfortable. Do you want something for pain? We can see about getting an epidural." Tohru shook her head.

"Are you sure? You're hurting so much already." Kyo responded with worry.
"No. I want to endure it for him." She said and rubbed her large belly. The doctor nodded and left.

Hours passed and still no baby. Kyo stood holding her against his chest after they said she needed to try and walk to speed things along. Her hands were wrapped around his torso. When a contraction came he whispered sweet nothings in her ear. "Shhhh. It's only temporary. The pain won't last. Think of holding our son. Think of Hajime." She screamed in pain and gripped his shirt. It was almost too much for him. He wasn't sure how much longer he could hear that sound. He felt so helpless. The staff wanted to do a C-section but Tohru refused. More hours passed and there was still not much progress.

"We need to get this baby out soon, Mrs. Sohma." The doctor told them. "No please! Just awhile longer!" Tohru begged. "I'm sure he'll want to come out soon!" The doctor sighed but agreed.

"Fine but this is the last time." She said and left. Three hours later, Kyo was sitting by her bed holding her hand while another contraction over took her. Once again the doctor checked her and was surprised to find she was almost fully dilated.

"Well look at that! You're ready to push." Kyo let out a breath of relief.

"Finally." He said to himself.

"That's quite the motherly instinct you have!" The woman said with surprise. Kyo smiled softly at his wife and rubbed her hand. He wasn't surprised at all. The doctor instructed her about pushing and keeping her breathing. Small pushes at first and then as it went on, she was instructed to give bigger pushes. She gave last push with a painful scream and then it happened. They heard him. Hajime was crying. Kyo looked at Tohru who was laying back, exhausted with sweat soaked hair. He thought she was so beautiful in that moment that it brought tears to his eyes. He gently sat down pressed his lips against her forehead.

"I'm so proud of you, Tohru." He whispered. The nurse prepared the cord and let Kyo cut it. He saw Hajime then. His breath caught in his throat and felt his heart pound against his chest so hard it felt like it would burst. His son looked exactly like him including his vibrant orange hair. How? How does he have that hair color? He thought it was only caused by the curse. The nurses cleaned him and handed the baby to Tohru who looked down at him with tears streaming down her face. The nurses and doctor left to give them privacy.

"Hajime..." She whispered happily. "You looked just like your daddy." Kyos eyes widened in sudden fear. He needed out of this room.
