Chapter 3: Love and Hope

Ali's POV…

I floated in the air as I rubbed my throat. I just knew the stench of rotting flesh was going to be stuck to me for the next month. However, even while I was doing that, my attention was also directed at the ground, towards Kyle. I saw that red… Thing come from the sky and slice off Eon's arm, but I had also seen it fly towards Kyle. I saw it circle around him before stopping at his face and saying something about "great rage". Then, I saw it fly onto Kyle's finger, and a second later, he began convulsing on the ground. All the while, whatever that thing was, it began covering his body in a red light, till finally, Kyle threw up… Something onto the ground.

Was that... Blood?

Kyle stopped convulsing after that. His gaze was slowly drawn to the sky. To Eon. All the while, the red light continued twisting and convulsing around his body, till by the time I could make him out again, he was… Changed.

He wore red gloves on his hands, with long black sleeves running up his arms, connecting to a black jumpsuit. His upper chest had red dragons near his collar bone, breathing fire. He still had a Jolly Roger sign on his chest, but it had a big logo that resembled a lantern with jagged handles on its forehead, and it was all red as well. When I looked at his legs, his pants were gone and replaced with red boots, with white lines separating them and his gloves from his new jumpsuit. His hair had also changed from curly to spiky, like Gohan's, and his Ultimatrix had inverted its colors. And finally, as I got a better look at him, I saw what the source of the red light was.

It was a red ring.

Kyle stared at Eon, and within seconds, he bared his fangs at him, and I saw all his confusion disappear. And in its place… Was rage!

Kyle: "EOOONNNNN!" Kyle pointed the ring at him, and unleashed a red blast from it, hitting Eon and causing him to fly back.

Sorceressa Ben: "Bella, what's going on?!"

Shadow: "Is it a new watch form?"

Bella: "That's not a new transformation. That's a Red Lantern ring!"

Kayla: "Red Lantern ring? I thought we only had to deal with a black one!"

Ali: "Not... Exactly..."

The group looked to me as I came to the ground, rubbing my throat as I talked.

Ali: "Eon said... That his ring came through a small rip in time and space. My guess... More than just Eon's ring... Came through."

Kyle didn't listen as his ring ignited in red, and he flew at Eon. The undead Chronian recovered from the assault, but Kyle grabbed him by his collar and threw him into a wall. Then, before Eon could reorient himself, Kyle unleashed a typhoon of red liquid from his mouth directed right at him. Eon managed to teleport away before it hit him, but the liquid burned right through the wall. But Kyle didn't seem to care about that. He wanted Eon!

Kyle looked to sky and saw Eon floating there. Eon then charged his hands with time energy, and began bombarding the area with time rays. Kayla saw the blasts coming and went Diamondhead, summoning a diamond shield to protect us, and Ben aided her by powering the diamonds with his magic, blocking the shots. Kyle then created a flaming sword from his mouth, and then grabbed it. It was a long, thin katana that was dripping blood from the tip.

Eon: "How is this possible? How did it know...?!"

Kyle: "At this point... I COULDN'T GIVE A SHIT!" He rushed at Eon, then slashed at him. Eon put up a shield, but Kyle cut through it, and just kept slashing and slashing! He wanted Eon dead!

Bella: "That ring is filling him with so much rage... He can't control it!"

Gwen: "Why not?! Kyle going insane is something we're used to!" Shadow whistled to himself.

Ali: "Really?"

Bella: "It's how Red Lantern rings work! They cause whoever wears them to feel extreme amounts of rage!"

Eon brought out his energy blades and clashed against Kyle's sword.

Eon: "It... Doesn't matter! Red Lantern or not, I will still feast on your heart!"

Kyle: "You'll... Burn... First!"

Kyle spewed another flood of red liquid at Eon's face and Eon stopped clashing blades so he could dodge the attack. Eon then tried to blast Kyle with a time ray, but Kyle managed to block it by creating a red force field with his ring.

Ali: "Well, despite that, he seems to be handling it well."

Bella: "Probably from his experience dealing with the Kurama. However, as long as that ring is on his finger, he won't be able to calm down!"

Kevin 11 2.0: "On it!" Kevin stretched vines towards Kyle, but Kyle cut them up like paper. Kyle then began shooting red beams at Eon, who deflected them with his shield. Kyle then turned his blade into a buster sword, slashed through Eon's shield with ease, and then cut Eon in half with it.

Kyle: "PREPARE TO DIE!" Kyle continued blasting him, trying to destroy both halves of his body at once, but Gwen wrapped her manna around him.

Kyle: "H... Hey!"

Gwen: "Sorry, Kyle!" Ben used his manna as his eyes glowed pink.

Sorceressa Ben: "We need to get that ring off!"

Kyle: "No you don't!" He sent a red energy wave outwards, knocking Ben and Gwen back. Bella slashed her Oathkeeper at Kyle, forcing him to block.

Bella: "Don't make me hurt you, Kyle!"

Kyle: "As if you could... Sensei. Now stay out of my way!" Kyle shot her, but she dodged and knocked him into a wall.

Bella: "Stay down." Kyle then teleported, shocking Bella.

Bella: "I blocked his Chaos powers, though." He then reappeared near Eon and slashed at him again.

Kyle: "STAY OUT OF MY WAY! ALL OF YOU!"

Bella: "This is bad! If that ring is giving Kyle access to more of his powers, than the Kurama may not be far behind!"

Gwen: "Then we need to act fast! Ali, you're his girlfriend. Maybe you can get him to stop just long enough so that we can restrain him and get that ring off."

Ali: "Alright!"

Bella: "I wouldn't do that!"

We all looked at Bella in disbelief.

Diamondhead Kayla: "Why not?! You just said that ring is driving my brother crazy and may possibly unleash an alien demon! Why shouldn't we try it?!"

In response, Bella pointed to the puddle of blood Kyle spewed up.

Bella: "See that? That, right there, is Kyle's blood. ALL of it! When that ring put itself on him, it shut down his circulatory system and took its place! Right now, his heart isn't beating and that ring is pumping the equivalent of liquid rage through his veins! While your plan might work, taking that ring off Kyle at this point would be tantamount to taking him off life-support!"

Eon repaired himself and took a few swipes at Kyle with his blades. Kyle thankfully dodged each attack and slashed at Eon's head. Eon tried to dodge it, but Kyle's blade still managed to slice through his helmet and slashed his eyes.

Kyle: "You like that, you walking prune?!"

Kyle slashed at him again but Eon teleported out of the way. Kyle looked around to find him when Eon suddenly reappeared some ways away, flew at Kyle from behind and tackled him onto the roof of a building. Kyle managed to get out of his grip and throw him off, before getting back up and snarling at the Black Lantern.

Eon: "You are very adept at using the Red light of Rage, Kyle! Do you want to see what Death can do?"

He pointed his ring at Kyle, and suddenly he created a bunch of flying, Black Skulls, all of which were flying at Kyle. Kyle thankfully put his shield up, blocking the skulls as he summoned an anti-aircraft gun turret, and fired bullets at Eon. Eon had no choice but to dodge them as Kyle summoned Chaos Spears, and hurled them at him. Eon had to actually teleport around to dodge my fire. Kyle rolled up and tackled Eon into the ground, making his quills extend, and they glowed blood red. Kyle then slashed Eon with them as he rolled.

Ali: "Then... What am I supposed to do?"

Kevin 11 2.0: "If necessary, take them both down."

Diamondhead Kayla: "Kevin! That's my brother!"

Shadow: "And my son!"

Rouge: "OUR son."

Omega: "Termination is not a viable method."

Bella: "We need to get through to him somehow. The Star Sapphire ring would be perfect... But I can't summon one, and I don't have the ability to become one."

I heard what Bella said and watched as Kyle's rage continued to grow. Eon needed to be stopped, that was for sure… But I couldn't just sit back and let that ring drive Kyle over the edge!

Ali: "What do I need to do to be a Star Sapphire?!"

Bella looked at me in disbelief.

Bella: "Ali are you sure?"

Ali: "Bella, I am not going to let Kyle stay like this! If there's even a small chance of bringing him back to reality, I will take it! So once again, what do I need to do to be a Star Sapphire?!"

Bella still looked surprised but donned a look of determination.

Bella: "Just... Love!"

Ali: "Love?!"

Bella: "Yes, love! Love harder than you ever have before!"

Ali: "How will that help?"

Bella: "Ali, Star Sapphire rings are fueled by the Violet light of Love, and if what you told me is true, somewhere in the universe is a small hole in time and space that leads to a reality where rings like Eon's and Kyle's exist. Now, I might be wrong, but there might be a chance that somewhere in that universe, a Violet ring is searching for a being with great love or great loss, and right now, that person needs to be you!"

Ali: "Well, how do I get it to come here?!"

Bella: "Just... Love Kyle! Love him like you've never loved him before! Love him like you're just about to lose him! Make your love so strong that the ring will have no choice but to come to you!"

Eon managed to grab Kyle as he rolled on top of him and threw him into a wall. However, Kyle managed to bounce off the wall, and flew back at Eon. Then before Eon could blast him again, Kyle actually managed to knock off his head, sending it falling to the ground. Kyle then turned back around to look back at him, but he saw that his body was still standing, and had even turned around to face him.

Kyle: "WHY WON'T YOU DIE?!"

Eon: "I thought we established that I already was!"

Eon's body then charged up a couple time rays and blasted them directly at Kyle. Thankfully, Kyle used his newly unsealed Chaos Control to get around the time rays before slashing Eon's body to shreds with a katana. He then flew at Eon's head, and stabbed it through. The head roared in pain.

Kyle: "You're through now!"

Eon: "Am... I?" Eon's body blasted Kyle with a black ray into a building, and Kyle immediately flew out, roaring. His fangs grew longer, then he had his Kurama aura.

Bella: "Ali! Now!"

I couldn't take it anymore! Kyle was going to be consumed by his own rage, and if the only way to stop it was to love like I never loved before, I would do it! For him. As I concentrated hard, I blocked out all of the outside noise, and tried to concentrate on all of the good times I had had with Kyle. Helping him move on past the Darkstar incident, comforting him about our lives, some times in High School, and then... The night after we defeated the HighBreed. All of a sudden, I was hit by something from behind. When I opened my eyes, I saw a violet ring floating in front of me.

Violet Ring: "ALLISON LEVIN OF EARTH. YOU HAVE GREAT LOVE IN YOUR HEART."

I smiled.

Ali: "Oh yeah! Lay it on me! But Ring... NEVER call me Allison."

Violet Ring: "THEN WHAT SHALL I CALL YOU?"

Ali: "Just Ali will do!"

Violet Ring: "VERY WELL ALI. WELCOME TO THE STAR SAPPHIRES."

The ring flew onto my finger and it lit up with Violet energy. Then, before I knew it, violet crystals began growing out of the ring and spreading across my hand.

Kevin 11 2.0: "ALI!"

Kevin ran at me to try and help, but Bella stopped him.

Bella: "She'll be fine! This is normal."

The crystals completely covered my hand and soon began growing over my arm! I clenched my teeth and tried to deal with the pain, but it kept growing, 'till finally I was completely trapped within a giant, Violet crystal. I couldn't move! I could barely breathe! But... I could still feel the ring! Even as it trapped me, I could feel it giving me power! I needed to focus on that! I needed to focus on Kyle!

I concentrated as hard as I could and I could feel the ring igniting with energy! Then, I flexed my hand, cracking the crystal, and within the span of a second, I used the ring to completely shatter it!

Ali: "YES!"

I was now wearing a full bodied jumpsuit, with my purple and lavender dyed streaks going violet, violet gloves and boots, and I was now wearing a mask shaped like a cat's head. I had a big Jolly Roger symbol over my chest, and the Star Sapphire symbol was in each eye.

Ali: "Kyle! I'm coming!"

Bella: "I hope this works..."

I covered myself with a Violet aura and flew up at Kyle just as the Kurama aura appeared around him.

Ali: "Kyle!"

He looked over at me and he looked surprised.

Kyle: "Al- Ali?!"

Ali: "Kyle, you need to calm down. You're letting your anger control you."

Kyle: "Ali... No! I like it like this!" His aura grew and I could see he was starting to gain fox features.

Ali: "But you're losing yourself! If you keep this up, than there may be no going back!"

Kyle: "But... EON! HE KILLED THOSE PEOPLE! HE HURT YOU!"

Ali: "Kyle I know! I saw him... And I couldn't stop him. I'm just as mad as you. But if we let our anger control us, then we'll only be hurting ourselves."

Kyle: "But... But..."

Ali: "Kyle... Please. Let me help you." I held my hand out to Kyle, and he seemed to recoil. He began breathing heavily and his eyes darted between me and my hand. Then, he very slowly raised his hand up and held mine.

Kyle: "Help... Me..."

I smiled and covered Kyle's hand with both of mine. Then, I closed my eyes and began pumping energy into his ring to try and lessen the hold it had over him. But at the same time, I knew I had to keep some anger prevalent; if he had no rage, then that ring would leave him, and since that thing was his life support 'till we knew how to jump-start his heart again... I needed to be careful.

I continued pumping energy into his ring and I opened my eyes to look at him. I could see some of the anger leaving his eyes and his more feral features began to vanish.

Ali: "Kyle? Are you okay?"

The Kurama aura suddenly diminished and Kyle's breathing became normal again.

Kyle: "Ali... What's... What's going on?"

Ali: "Kyle!"

I stopped pumping energy into his ring and embraced him in a hug. Then I let go and looked him in the eye.

Ali: "How are you feeling?"

Kyle: "Well... Angry for one thing! Really angry!"

Ali: "You can thank that ring of yours for that. Thankfully, I was able to calm you down before it brought the Kurama out, but I had to keep some rage there or else that ring would fly off your finger."

Kyle: "How would that be bad?!"

Ali: "Well, considering that that ring is now your heart, I figured that maybe it'd be best to keep it on!"

Eon: "AHEM!"

We both turned and saw that Eon's body had not only healed, but it was holding his head under its arms.

Eon: "Are we done?!" As he talked, he lifted his head up and it reattached to his neck.

Ali: "Yes. We're done." I glared at Eon as I heard Kyle growling again. Great. I may have to stop him on occasion to reduce his anger to manageable levels during the fight.

Sorceressa Ben: "Now she has a ring!"

Bella: "I'm still amazed that worked."

Kevin 11 2.0: "Really?"

Bella: "It's not supposed to be every day that a ring like that falls into people's hands."

Gwen: "Okay. That part makes sense."

Diamondhead Kayla: "What should the rest of us do?"

Bella: "Stay back for now. I think Kyle and Ali can turn the tide. At least for now." Kyle summoned his katana.

Kyle: "Eon..." He shapeshifted it into a Buster Sword again.

Kyle: "I will make sure you don't EVER hurt anyone again!"

Ali: "Kyle, keep yourself as calm as you possibly can. I know your heart is full of rage, and that rage is the only reason you're alive, but you have to be stable. Kurama could take over."

Kyle: "This is my body! Not his!" He flew at Eon, swinging the blade. It hit a shield Eon made, deflecting it. Eon then tried to shoot Kyle, but I blocked the attack then shot him with a violet energy blast, knocking him into the ground. Kyle then drove the Buster Sword into Eon's chest.

Kyle: "YOU BASTARD!"

Eon: "Yes, Kyle."

Ali: "Kyle!" I enveloped him in my light again, and used my other hand to make a hammer from my energy, and smacked Eon into the nearest building. He then recovered, shooting at me.

Eon: "You are ruining my plans!" I shielded Kyle as he created a red RPG launcher and shot Eon out of the sky in a big red explosion.

Kyle: "Leave her alone. I won't lose her again. Not now... NOT EVER!"

I couldn't help but smile when he said that, but my joy was short-lived as Eon recovered and looked up to us.

Black Ring: "RAGE. LOVE."

Eon: "Fine. If that is what you wish..."

He then looked away from us and looked to the rest of the group.

Eon: "Then I suppose I must look elsewhere for sustenance."

He then charged up his hand with time energy and unleashed it on the group.

Ali: "Oh no you don't!" I shot a blast of Violet energy at the ground, and from the spot I hit, a large wall made of Violet crystals appeared, blocking Eon's attack.

Ali: "Whoa. Didn't know I could do that."

Eon's attack was deflected back at him. He dispelled it, growling at us.

Eon: "As I already said... I will find sustenance elsewhere!" Kyle flew up, and Spin Dashed at him while he was in the air. Eon vanished just then, and Kyle hit nothing.

Kyle: "RRAAAAGGHHH! COWARD!" He shot red lasers everywhere.

Ali: "Kyle!" I restrained him, when he looked at me, merely breathing heavily.

Ali: "We can't afford to go crazy right now. Eon has to be found first!"

Kyle: "You're... Right." Damn, this was getting annoying. This Kyle flies off the handle way too easily.

Bella: "Are you two okay?"

Ali: "Yeah." Kyle and I floated to the ground and everyone else walked up to us.

Kevin 11 2.0: "Wow..." He looked at me.

Ali: "It is pretty sweet, huh, bro?"

Gwen: "Kind of. But we need to save Kyle first!"

Sorceressa Ben: "Kyle?"

Kyle: "I'm fine..."

Ali: "Not until we can fix this rage thing."

Kyle: "Eon is our top priority. Besides... You said that if this ring comes off... I die, right? So... You might need to keep me stable... At least 'till we destroy Eon. Then we can worry about getting this thing off without killing me."

Kayla turned back to normal.

Kayla: "Bro, everything's gonna be okay. I know it looks bad now, but all of us are a team, and no matter what we go up against, we always save the day in the end. That's how it always works. You used to stop me in the past. I was evil, Kevin was evil..."

Kevin 11 2.0: "Watch it, Kay."

Kayla: "We both know you always win... Somehow."

Bella: "Usually. Usually win."

Kayla: "I know we'll find a way. We always do." Shadow looked at Kayla. Rouge smiled to her.

Gwen: "You really believe that?" Kayla nodded.

Kayla: "I know it sounds naive of me, but... I really believe we can do it." She looked back to Kyle.

Kayla: "And I will be damned if I didn't say that to my brother." Kyle allowed himself to smile but it looked more like a smirk.

Kyle: "Okay." I released him, when he looked up.

Kyle: "What is it, free prize day at the carnival?" When I looked up, I saw a blue light flying for us.

Ali: "No way."

Kayla: "Ooh!" She grinned.

Bella: "Kyle may be right. Or this group has way more potential than even I thought possible." I saw her smiling to herself.

The light flew down towards Kayla and circled around her before floating in front of her face. It was another ring, only this one was Blue.

Blue Ring: "KAYLA TENNYSON OF EARTH. YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO INSTILL GREAT HOPE."

Kayla: "No way..."

Sorceressa Ben: "Another ring?"

Gwen: "I wonder how many came through."

Kayla kept her gaze focused on the ring in front of her. Then, she slowly lifted her right arm towards it, 'till it looked like it was floating in her hand.

Blue Ring: "DO YOU ACCEPT THE POWER I OFFER?"

Kayla: "I... Yes. I do."

Blue Ring: "THEN WELCOME TO THE BLUE LANTERN CORPS."

The ring immediately flew onto Kayla's middle finger, and she immediately clenched her hand into a fist. Then, the ring began to glow even brighter 'till Kayla's form was completely enveloped in Blue light.

Kayla's new outfit changed to look almost like mine, but it was blue. She did not have a skull and crossbones design on her, but it was mainly black with blue lines. Her Omnitrix changed to blue instead of pink, almost like Albedo's, but in a slightly brighter shade. The dyed black top of her pigtails also changed to blue. The Blue Lantern symbol was on her chest, there was a v-shape showing the outline of her collar bone on her jumpsuit, and her gloves and boots were blue.

Kayla: "Alright! Blue Lantern power!" She looked to Kyle. She then had her ring glow, and it built a construct of me.

Kyle: "H-hey there."

Ali: "Kayla, what's going on?"

Kayla: "The Ring's trying to tell me that it can help Kyle live."

Bella: "Such is the Blue Lantern Corps' goal."

Shadow: "Explain."

Bella: "The Blue Lantern Corps is about building hope in those that need it. They are at their most powerful when they are with a Green Lantern, but their ability to help others still exists." The Ali construct hugged Kyle. I felt his anger lowering as he hugged it. Ben turned back to normal, as did Kevin.

Ben: "Wow." He smiled.

Kevin: "That's an interesting power." I suddenly felt something beating within Kyle.

Ali: "Nice. His anger is being lessened."

Kyle: "My... Anger is... Weakening." This was true. I had those feelings now because of the Star Sapphire ring. His life signs were coming back. The construct Ali faded.

Ali: "How are ya?"

Kyle: "Okay, strangely. Still pissed because Eon's gone, but not overly angry."

We all smiled and Kayla looked to her ring.

Kayla: "Ring, can you give me an update on my brother's physical state?"

Blue Ring: "SUBJECT'S ANGER HAS BEEN LESSONED AND CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM HAS BEGUN TO SLIGHTLY RESTART."

Kayla: "Is it safe to get that ring off him then?"

Blue Ring: "NEGATIVE. WITHOUT AN ACTIVE GREEN LANTERN IN VICINITY, FULL RESTORATION IS NOT POSSIBLE."

Ali: "Damn..."

Kyle: "Still, at least I have more control over this thing."

To prove his point, Kyle's ring lit up with red light and he floated a bit off the ground.

Kyle: "Plus, now we have Lantern powers. Eon won't stand a chance!"

Bella: "I wouldn't be too sure. You all just got Lantern ring powers."

Kevin: "Bella's right. What do we even know about your full potentials with them?"

Gwen: "You may need to learn more about them now that you have them."

Bella: "I can teach you about what they do, but I never used one before, so I can't go in depth with it." She looked disappointed.

Kyle: "It's fine, Sensei." Kyle looked at Kayla and me.

Kyle: "Let's start practicing with these bad boys before Eon decides to come back. I want to know exactly how all these rings work!"

Ben: "While you're doing that, we can look for Eon."

That seemed to get Kyle surprised.

Kyle: "Ben, he's an indestructible walking corpse. If you guys aren't careful, he might try and get your guys' hearts."

Rouge: "Oh yeah, and he wouldn't do the same with you three?"

Kyle said nothing to that.

Gwen: "They're right Kyle. Just because you don't know the full extent of what those rings can do doesn't mean that Eon will stop."

Shadow: "And then there's Nekron. What would happen if he came while you guys were still training? Someone would need to hold him off."

Kyle said nothing, but I could tell what they were saying was getting to him because his ring was glowing a little bit brighter. I quickly walked over to him and held his hand.

Ali: "Kyle, I know you don't want us to get hurt, but they're right. Besides, we can still hold our own even without these things, remember?"

That seemed to get through to him and his ring's glow began to dim. He then looked at me, looked back to the group and sighed.

Kyle: "Alright. Just... Don't let him touch you."

Ali: "I promise. I won't." I hugged him. Kyle hugged tightly back. I felt a tear hit my shoulder. It felt like an ember hit me, but once I saw Kyle, he very obviously looked sad. I didn't mind that the tear burned anymore.

Kyle: "I'm just glad you're back." Kayla looked to Ben

Ben: "How does it feel to be a Blue Lantern?"

Kayla: "Kinda cool. It isn't green, but it's still nice."

Ben: "That's cool, though. My girlfriend, part of a Lantern Corps." Kayla blushed. Bella looked back to us.

Bella: "Ali, Kayla, you can conserve energy by turning the Lantern power off."

Kyle: "Why not me?"

Bella: "We shouldn't try until you can get all your blood back."

Kyle: "Makes sense." Both Kayla and I returned to our normal states.

Bella: "Alright. For now, we'll split up. I'll take Kyle, Ali, and Kayla here back to the base to train them in using their rings. In the meantime, everyone else should spread out across Bellwood. Eon may be gone, but Kyle is still his top priority, so he probably won't be leaving town. Are we clear?"

Everyone else: "Yes."

Omega: "Affirmative." They split up as Bella said, covering more area. Bella took Kayla, Kyle, and I with her to the base. I began to wonder what she would do to teach us. I absorbed the rock on the ground to use my butterfly wings, Kayla turned into Big Chill, and Kyle made a red light surround him to fly.

Kyle: "Alright. That still works."

Bella: "It should. Come on." She then turned into... A pony?! She was purple, with a horn and wings, looking like a character from My Little Pony. I saw Kyle and Kayla's eyes twitch. I was just surprised.

Pony Bella: "What's wrong?"

Kyle: "Oh my God..."

Big Chill Kayla: "One of those..."

Ali: "What's wrong, guys?"

Kyle: "I don't like that show."

Big Chill Kayla: "Me neither." I rolled my eyes at them.

Pony Bella: "I see what this is." She just flew away anyway, not elaborating on her thoughts. We continued behind her. Kyle and Kayla kept a longer distance from her than me, though. What could be going through their heads?

We managed to make it back to the base, and upon returning, we all reverted to our normal forms. Kyle then quickly input the entrance codes and we all walked inside, and as we did, Bella immediately turned to us.

Bella: "Alright, guys! If you all are going to learn how to use the rings, you all need to know exactly how they work."

Kyle: "Red is rage, Violet is Love, and Blue is Hope." He sounded impatient. Bella gave him a look.

Bella: "First day on the job here. The rings also respond to your imagination to manifest different weapons and projections, as I'm sure you all noticed."

Ali: "I sure did." Kyle and Kayla nodded.

Bella: "As long as you feel the emotion your ring is based off of, they will be able to operate at max efficiency."

Kyle: "Anger. I've always been able to run by that."

Kayla: "It took a while to get hopeful, but Ben helps me feel it."

Ali: "I leak love."

Bella: "Well, that's easy. You guys need to take me on now." Kyle laughed.

Kyle: "BRING IT!"

Kyle's ring ignited and he unleashed a torrent of liquid flames at Bella, but she quickly dodged them.

Bella: "Better be careful with that stuff Kyle. It's pure rage and it can burn anything, anywhere. And I do mean, ANYWHERE."

Kyle: "Fine. Then let's try something else!" Kyle suddenly created Red Missiles with his ring and they all launched at Bella, though one seemed to misfire and launched at me!

Kyle: "ALI, WATCH OUT!"

Bella managed to dodge her missile, while I put up a violet shield to block mine. I then tried encasing Kyle in a crystal prison, but he slashed his way out using two red katanas, as Kayla shot out a blue laser at both of us. We got knocked back as Bella slammed Kayla into the ground by turning into Diamondhead.

Diamondhead Bella: "Didn't see me coming, Kay?" She asked her. Kayla made blue gauntlets grow over her hands to toss Bella off of her. Bella flipped to safety, and launched diamond shards at all of us. We dodged the attacks, as Kyle flew at Bella now, breathing fire at her. Bella brought up a diamond coated Decisive Pumpkin Keyblade and shot Blizzard magic out of it to cancel it out. Kyle dodged around it, kicking her in the shin. She turned into her Pony form, bucking Kyle into the ceiling.

Pony Bella: "Oops! Sorry!" I flew at her, punching her in the face. She regained her balance, shooting purple lasers at me now. I put up my shield to knock the shots away, and Kyle teleported behind Bella, and got her in a headlock.

Ali: "Kyle?!"

Kyle: "No way in hell am I letting myself get creamed by a fucking pony!" He dropped her into the ground, and began wailing on her. I saw fire leaking out of his eyes. Kayla noticed this immediately. She tried to make another construct of me again, but Kyle was absorbed in pulverizing Bella.

Bella teleported out of Kyle's grip and appeared a little ways from him.

Pony Bella: "Kayla, not yet."

Kayla's ring stopped forming the construct and Kayla herself looked confused.

Pony Bella: "A Red Lantern's power comes from their rage. The less angry they are, the less effective they are. Why do you think I chose to turn into Twilight Sparkle?"

It made sense, in a way. Kyle and Kayla did get agitated when she first became... Twilight Sparkle (good lord, that name was girly), and since Bella was a more experienced fighter, then she could probably stoke Kyle's anger without making him fly off the rails. Hopefully...

Kyle created two red katanas and flew at Bella. But before Kyle could slash her, she created a purple shield around herself, blocking his attack.

Twilight Sparkle Bella: "C'mon Kyle. That all you got?"

I decided I needed to enter the fray. I flew at Bella and created a giant, Violet fly swatter, and before Bella noticed, I used it to smack Bella and her bubble shield into a wall. Bella got out, shaking her head a bit.

Twilight Sparkle Bella: "Not bad, Ali! Not bad at all!" She shot out lasers while ratcheting her own tail. Kyle put up a shield to block it as I made a cannon to shoot at her with. Bella dodged by running at super speed, when Kayla intercepted her, creating a blue glowing baseball bat. She smacked Bella with it. Bella turned into Cannonbolt, bounding back at Kayla, knocking her away, as she then went Ultimate Cannonbolt, and flew back at Kyle, who made a lacrosse racket, hurling her around again.

Kyle: "EAT THAT!"

However, Bella bounced off the walls again, only this time instead of flying back at Kyle, she bounced off the floor and slammed into Kyle from below, bouncing them both into the ceiling. Bella, of course, bounced right off, but Kyle took the full brunt of her assault and once she was off of him, he fell to the floor, groaning in pain.

Ultimate Cannonbolt Bella: "Just cause you can make a few fancy toys with your ring doesn't mean they can do everything. You need to be more creative. After all, those rings are extensions of your thoughts and emotions, so if you don't get creative, then those things are nothing more than fancy jewelry."

Kyle: "I'll show you fancy jewelry!" He began making a gigantic construct, which turned out to be a missile pod larger than Humongousaur.

Kayla: "ARE YOU INSANE?!"

Kyle: "Yes! Ahahahaaa! HAAAHAHAAAA!" He then fired and fired and fired. I saw Bella turn into Brooke from One Piece, then transformed into a more powerful version of him.

Ascended Brooke Bella: "SOUL CRESCENDO!" She was creating a Sonic barrier to block all the missiles Kyle was firing. I looked to Kayla. She nodded, and both she and I flew to either side of her.

Ali: "NOW!" I created a wrecking ball as Kayla made a rock.

Kayla: "Try getting stuck between a rock, a hard place, and some missiles!" We sent both objects flying at Bella as she vanished, and the explosions hit where she had been standing. I saw her reappear behind me, as Kyle made a minigun and began firing bullets at her to keep her off of me.

Kyle: "YATATATATATATATATA... YATATATATATATATATA! GAHAHAAAA!"

Kayla: "Oh man." She flew for Bella with a sword, and then slashed at her midsection. Bella reacted surprisingly quickly.

Ascended Brooke Bella: "You'll need to do better than that..."

Bella caught the blade and elbowed Kayla in the face.

My ring ignited in Violet light and I shot a beam of energy right at Bella's feet, covering them and the ground she stood on in crystal.

Ali: "Gonna be hard to dodge when you're feet are stuck in crystal!"

Ascended Brooke Bella: "Maybe, if I couldn't do this!" She teleported into thin air.

Ali: "The fuck?!" Kayla began looking around.

Kyle: "CHAOS... CONTROL!" He also teleported.

Kayla: "Bro!"

Ali: "His Chaos powers are unsealed. Right... Kay, can you get a read on either of them?" Just as I asked, Bella appeared behind me, and I made a crystal shield to block her swinging her guitar into me. Kyle hit her with a comically oversized hammer, burying her into the ground with only her head sticking out. He then put an airtight barrier around her.

Kayla: "You're going to suffocate her?!"

Kyle: "Only until she begs for air."

Ali: "Kyle, you gotta calm down."

Kyle: "No way! I'm having a ball!"

Ali: "KYLE!" I flew to Kyle's side and held his hand in mine.

Ali: "Don't let the ring control you. Just try to calm down." To make extra sure that what I was saying was getting through, I began pumping a little Violet energy into his ring to hopefully get him back into a good mood.

Kyle struggled against it for a moment, but stopped once he saw it was me again. Then, his sanity took hold.

Kyle: "Right..." He took a deep breath, and exhaled, releasing the barrier as Bella teleported away, looking at the scene.

Ascended Brooke Bella: "Good work Ali."

Ali: "I always know the trick to calming Kyle down."

Ascended Brooke Bella: "Remind me to bring you with us on our training sessions."

I smirked at Bella and ignited my ring to fight. However, before I could do anything, Kyle's Ultimatrix began ringing.

Kyle: "Huh?"

Kyle became a little confused before he answered the call.

Kyle: "Hello?"

Ben: "Kyle, it's Ben!"

Kyle: "Ben? What's going on?"

Ben: "We found Eon!"

Kyle: "WHAT?!" Kyle's ring ignited and I could feel his anger rise slightly.

Kyle: "Where are you?!"

Ben: "By the pier!"

Kyle: "We'll meet you there-"

Ben: "Wait!"

Kyle: "WHAT?!" Kyle's ring began glowing brighter and I put my hand on his shoulder to try and calm him.

Ben: "Before you come, there's something you need to know..."
