Most of the car ride had been conversations about the movie or what they brought at the mall. When the latter conversation came into play Izzy stretched it to a thirty-minute lecture about how important it was to match the right colors and styles. Magnus was the only one in the car to even understand her rant and he often pitched in on how some people just weren't meant for a certain color. Jace and Alec then started their own conversation as they got a little bored talking or more accurately just agreeing with Izzy and Magnus's talk.
"That reminds me. Clary, I saw a few art supply bags. I can assume those are yours?" Magnus spoke up. Everyone stopped talking and Izzy looked to be trying to make the girl talk. When she didn't Izzy took that as a plea for help.
"Yes, they were. She's amazing at it and I have a few pictures in my phone that she drew." Izzy said pulling up said pictures and showing them off. Clary was blushing while everyone complimented her. She then looked dead at Jace and gave a knowing look.
"Don't you dare say it," Clary said as Jace raised an eyebrow.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." Jace watched as the rest smiled knowingly.
"You quite good Clary. I haven't met a better artist since.." He was cut off when Alec coughed a little. It was quite obviously fake but Clary couldn't figure out why.
"You should draw us." Izzy suddenly piped up as the awkward silence was setting in.
"I don't think I'm that good." Clary was being modest and now everyone was teasing her. Eventually, she agreed but only after making a deal with each of them. Alec had to take her to eat somewhere so they could get to know each other and not be so awkward. Izzy had to agree to not dragging her to any clubs for a month. Jace had to take her to an ice rink within a month. Magnus had to tell her who she drew like because she was curious.
Alec only got to see a few of her drawings at a red light and even he complimented her. When they finally got to Jace's house they let him grab everything that was Clary's and said their goodbyes.
"We're having brunch tomorrow and I will interrupt if you two are doing it," Isabelle yelled as they were entering the house. Clary's face was alight but other than that nothing was said. Clary grabbed the bags and started taking the tags and everything off. Jace helped her and once they were all gone he led her to the laundry room. While the laundry was tumbling about they went back to the kitchen and Clary helped Jace figure out something to eat.
Clary had changed into one of Jace's shirts and that was all. Jace had thrown on some black sweat pants and a gray tank top. Jace had decided that for dinner they would be having a chicken and lime with a side of rice. It was simple enough and it didn't take long to make. When Clary went to help Jace shooed her away; so Clary grabbed her new art book and pencils and began drawing.
Jace didn't know what but noticed how hard she was concentrating. He continued cooking with his back to her and when he finally finished he had to call out her name about ten times before she finally responded. She closed the book and thanked him for the meal before chowing down. They began watching another movie although it wasn't like either of them was paying attention to it. Before he was able to just carry her to the bedroom she mumbles against his mouth about the laundry. He quickly went to the laundry room and shoved all of it into the dryer.
When he returned to the living room he noticed Clary was now in his doorway to the bedroom. Oh, how delicious she looked coyly standing there tugging on the end of his shirt. He was sure if he was behind her he would be able to see her nice pert butt starting to peek out the end of it. He was able to go a little faster that night since she was no longer as sore. When Clary woke the next morning she found Jace still asleep next to her. She smiled a little to herself before carefully getting out of bed and going to grab her book.
When Jace woke up he saw Clary sitting beside him in bed. Her new drawing book in hand and since he didn't wish to spook her he just acted like he was asleep. He hadn't moved for a little bit but when he finally felt Clary kiss him and leave the room did her open his eyes. He got out of bed, put some underwear on, and the same outfit as last night. When he exited the bedroom he saw Clary looking around the kitchen.
"Looking for something in particular?" Jace asked as he saw Clay spin around in surprise.
"You have to stop doing that. I'm going to buy you a bell or something." Clary started with a hand on her chest. " Do you own any cereal or any breakfast items?" She asked while she calmed down a bit.
"In the pantry," Jace said as he walked up to her. He grabbed one of the cupboard draws and to the redhead's surprise it pulled out.
"Of course a pull-out pantry. Did you want any?" Clary asked as she struggled to get the cereal. Who put cereal up so high.
"Well I would say yes but the view is pretty fulfilling." Jace was just leaning against the counter with a very cute Clary jumping up and down with only his shirt on. Her butt kept peeking out and no matter how small her boobs were they still moved with every bounce. Clary instantly grabbed the rim of the shirt and pulled it down.
"Well, that's no fun," Jace said as he pushed himself on the counter and closer to her. He grabbed the cereal while Clary was mumbling something about a pervert and blonde god.
"I work out in the morning so I have a routine," Jace mentioned as he got her the bowl and milk. It only seemed like a few seconds but Jace had already put some weird-looking ingredients in a blender and turned it on. When done it looked blood red and smelled weird.
"Is that any good?" Clary asked as she eyed it suspiciously.
"Well it doesn't taste or smell great but it helps," Jace said as he washed the blender. He kissed her and then went to a room down the hall. Clary was quick to finish breakfast and wash her dishes. She then went to the room where Jace was and peeked inside. He was currently using what looked to be a wooden staff and was pretending to fight an invisible assailant. Clary was quick to start drawing.
She had gotten caught up with drawing him with the utmost detail that she hadn't noticed he finished working out. Jace had the door open and with Clary just sitting on the floor he was stuck. He had to stop himself from laughing but a small chuckle escaped and Clary froze. She finally looked up and smiled a little. She then got out of his way and sat on the sofa. She was back to drawing and Jace kinda left her that way.
He then remembered the laundry and went to get it. When he walked by with the laundry basket he noticed she was on a blank page now.
"What would you like me to do with your clothes?" Jace asked as she was no longer drawing. Clary seemed to look at him curiously and then it clicked that he had brought plenty of clothes yesterday. He would have offered to keep some here but thought she might flip. After all, they had barely met and already acted like they were dating.
Clary only brought her purse and no other bags with her. The only thing she could think of was keeping them here but what if he said no. You usually wait a bit into dating someone to start putting clothes at their house. Jace saw Clary go bug-eyed for a second and noticed she was internally flipping out. She finally looked at him and said something he had not expected.
"Are we...I mean we've acted...Even your siblings said…." Clary was having trouble completing any of those thoughts. Jace knew what she meant but even he looked bug-eyed for a second. Then he laughed a little and dropped the laundry basket. Clary looked up when she heard him laugh at first she thought he was laughing at her but when he kissed her in the softest and sweetest way possible she knew he wasn't.
"You're adorable Clary. If you would like to date I have no problems. After all, I am the perfect boyfriend." Jace was now back to being overly cocky.
"What about Simon?" Clary wasn't sure why she asked that but regretted it the seconds it left her mouth.
"I'm okay with you dating him but kissing and anything further is forbidden. Hugging him is the closest he'll get to you." Jace watched as Clary nodded.
"You do know that everything you banned is what people dating do. He would be a friend if all I did was hug him." Clary was sure that she saw a small Jace smirk form but it was gone so quickly she couldn't be sure.
"If he does anything to you. I want to know." Jace said and Clary was sure that he would do those same things just tenfold. She should have stopped what was going on with Jace but something in her wouldn't let that happen and it was unlikely that it would anytime soon.
"Izzy just texted me so we should probably get dressed and find a place for your clothes." Jace was casual about the way he said it but Clary knew he just slyly said she could keep some things at his house. Luckily Jace had a walk-in closet with plenty of space for her. When all was done Clary went to grab her outfit but before she could she saw Jace holding up those shorts.
"You can wear whatever you want but the shorts are no choice." Jace was firm about his standing. Clary ended up brushing her teeth before putting on any clothes with Jace following her lead. Clary ended up wearing those black shorts with a long sleeve cold shoulder shirt. It was a simple army green color. She wore some black socks that stopped at mid-thigh height with some combat boots that had black fur on the end of them. She would have grabbed a jacket but it was quite nice outside. She also had a bra on this time and some panties.
Jace ended up wearing some dark gray jeans with a black v-neck that had some intentional holes. He grabbed one of the leather jackets and threw it one. He wore some black combat boots and made sure to grab his keys and wallet. While Cary grabbed her purse and phone. Jace made sure everything was all good before getting a message from Izzy.
"C'mon babe." Jace was smooth and Clary didn't even realize she had accepted the nickname till she was out the door. She knew if she turned around Jace would laugh. Instead, she walked to the vehicle and crawled in. Jace then got in and Alec pulled out of the driveway.
"Where are we.." Clary went to ask but then her phone rang. Jace looked down and saw it was Simon calling. Clary felt bad for feeling annoyed that he had called.
"Hey, Simon," Clary answered with an apologetic look to everyone.
"Hey back," Simon said, being dorky as always.
"What's up? Did you need something?" Clary was aware that wasn't how you talked to a boyfriend but she couldn't stop now.
"I was just wondering if you would like to go on a date today. There is something huge I have to tell you." Simon sounded excited.
"Oh. I'm actually hanging out with Izzy and everyone else you saw yesterday." Clary was glad for Izzy's demanding nature.
"What time do you think you'll be done?" Simon asked as he sounded slightly crestfallen. When Clary went to respond Izzy took the phone from her and began talking. While Jace let his jealousy get the best of him and distracted the poor girl by kissing her.
"Hey, Simon it's Izzy. I and Clary had this day planned but you can come to have brunch with us and hang out if you'd like." She felt Jace glaring at her but knew he wouldn't stop distracting Clary.
"Oh, hi Izzy. Well, I guess I could go have lunch and hang out." Simon sounded a little sad for not being able to just hang out with Clary but knowing Izzy he didn't try to fight her.
"Great. I'll send you the address. Bye." She heard Simon say wait but ignored it and hung up. Clary was half-listening as was kinda glad for Izzy's pushy self. When Jace finally let her breathe did she take her phone back and read some messages Simon had sent since yesterday. She used to think the way he texted was downright adorable. When they arrived at the restaurant that Magnus picked did Clary realize that she was underdressed.
"Oh don't worry biscuit. This place may look fancy but most people come in casual clothes. Unless for dinner." Magnus reassured her. Once inside did she notice that most people were in casual clothes but somehow still looked elegant. When Clary looked at the menu she noticed that she didn't know what even half of it was.
"I'll order your food if you would like." Jace offered and saw Clary struggle a second before agreeing. The waiter soon came to their table and took their drink order. Izzy was the only one who didn't know what she wanted. Simon ended up arriving about five minutes after they did. They were sitting in a circular booth with Jace on one end and Alec on another. From left to right it was Alec, Magnus, Izzy, Clary, and Jace.
Simon thought about asking Jace to move but decided against it. He was now next to Alec and when he noticed Clary and Jace moving he thought the blonde was going to let him sit next to his girlfriend. He was wrong, it turned out Izzy needed out and to his surprise, Clary sat back down with Jace back beside her. Izzy then sat on the end next to Simon and brought her drink over. She handed him a menu and helped him pick his meal but he still kept glancing at Clary and Jace.
"Everyone, this is Simon. Simon, this is Alec, Magnus, and Jace." Izzy said motioning to each individual.
"Nice to meet you all. I'm Clary's boyfriend." He didn't notice the look of guilt on Clary's face but everyone else did when he said that. It was awkward for a second after that but soon the waiter came back over. Everyone ordered what they wanted but Clary let Jace say whatever it was that he decided on for her. Simon found that kinda weird but then again Clary probably didn't know most of the items on the menu.
