Lily returned to Hogwarts, and spent the rest of the day with Harry, trying to figure out what to do next.

She learned that when Severus stood in front of Harry and died for him, he cast a powerful protection on him. Dumbledore said that it was love. And that the safest place for Harry was where Severus's blood had ran. Wanting her son to grow up safe, she asked him where that would be.

"I believe you are familiar with it, Lily. His childhood home." Dumbledore said, his eyes twinkling with the playfulness he got when presenting a puzzle.

"Spinner's End. But, how would his blood be there?" Lily asked.

"During his Occlumency lessons, I saw a memory of his father throwing a liquor bottle at him, causing him to bleed on the floor. It may not be much, but it can protect him, and you as well. He sacrificed himself for you as well." Dumbledore explained.

Lily winced. When they were kids, Severus would tell her of his father, whenever she pressed him for information. She had been so worried for him back then….

"Is his house still there?" she asked. Dumbledore nodded.

"It was left to Severus after his mother passed. He did not use it much, but it is available to you."

Lily agreed to move in there and internally started making a list of what she would need for her and Harry to live there comfortably.

Now there was only one question in her mind. Should she raise Harry to know about their world or not? Originally, that was what she and James had been planning, but now there were things to consider. There were still Death Eaters on the run, and they might come after her and Harry since Harry was the one to defeat Voldemort.

And, now Harry was one of the most famous people in their world now. It had only been a day, but people were already calling him The-Boy-Who-Lived. She didn't think it was good for him to grow up famous.

"What do you think, Harry? Would you mind growing up muggle?" she asked him as she fed him his supper, mashed peas. Harry only giggled.

"Yes, well that was helpful. I'd love for you to know about magic, but I don't want you to get a big head. James was so arrogant when we were in school, and that was without being the vanquisher of Voldemort. You already look so much like him, I don't want you inheriting his arrogance." Lily said aloud to her son. Harry just looked up at her, peas dripping from his mouth.

Lily decided to put a pin in it, as Sirius was leaving tonight, and she wanted to say a proper goodbye. They met by the Forbidden Forest, both using invisibility charms to keep his cover. Lily brought along Harry as well, though she kept him close, the Forbidden Forest was dangerous.

"Are you sure this is what you want?" She asked him.

"Yeah, Lily. It is. I'm sorry." He said.

"Just promise you'll find him." she told him.

"I will." Sirius looked to Harry, who was reaching up at him, silently telling Sirius to hold him. Sirius complied, and looked at Harry for a few minutes, wanting to remember exactly what the little boy looked like.

"I know you won't understand this now, but I'm doing this for you, Harry. For you. For your dad. Even for Snape. You be a good boy now, okay? Cause lots of mischief, and drive Lily crazy. Just like your dad did. Okay?" He asked Harry.

"Pafoo?" Harry asked.

Sirius let out a sad little smile, and Lily could see a tear running down his cheek.

"Padfoot has to go, Harry. But I'll see you again, I promise." Sirius hugged Harry, then gave him back to Lily.

"Sirius, wait." Lily said as he was turning away to go. She pulled Harry's stuffed animal dog from her cloak and gave it to Sirius.

"For you to remember who you're doing this for."

The next few days were difficult. Frank and Alice Longbottom were driven insane after a horrible attack by leftover Death Eaters. Lily cried all night after that. Alice was one of her best friends, and Frank was always so supportive of her in their Hogwarts years, even when she was a confused first year.

After that, Lily made her decision. It would be better for Harry if they went to the muggle world. It would be safer, and Harry could be a normal kid for a while.

Dumbledore supported her choice. But, he would always be available to her whenever she needed. Lily hugged him and Minerva goodbye and left Hogwarts. Then, she went to Gringotts to exchange most of her and James's savings into muggle money, so she would set up her bank account in the muggle world.

Dumbledore promised that he would spread the word that Lily and Harry had left in the middle of the night, and no one knew why. It would be a mystery where she went until Harry went off to school.

Lily set up her bank account and moved into the house on Spinner's End. It was a one-story house, and slightly shabby. Lily allowed herself to use her wand to fix it up but knew she'd have to hide her magic when Harry got older and would remember seeing her wand.

Once the house was fully repaired and cleaned, she set to setting up Harry's room. She painted the walls a nice light yellow, to make the room brighter. She put all the baby necessities in his room, and purchased a few more toys for him, along with plenty of books.

She painted her room's walls a nice red color, to resemble the red of Gryffindor house. She stored her and James's wands in a hidden part of her desk and spelled it so that Harry wouldn't find it.

She also placed a glamour spell on her and Harry. If anyone from the magical world tried to find them, they wouldn't recognize them. She changed her last name back to Evans, so if someone from their world heard her name, they wouldn't connect it back to Lily Potter or Harry Potter. It hurt to no longer share the last name as James, but when they went back to the magical world, she'd change it again.

Lily then registered Harry in a daycare for young children, which he seemed to enjoy. He loved playing with other babies for once, and the leaders of the daycare said he was one of the best-behaved babies there.

With Harry taken care of during the day, it freed her up to find a job. She didn't technically need one, she would live off her and James's savings forever, but she knew it would look suspicious if she didn't have a job, and besides, she enjoyed hard work. It made her feel useful.

Luckily for her, Lily was able to get a job at a local elementary school, teaching a class of fourth-graders. The principal was relieved to hire her, as the former teacher had just resigned. Lily was grateful to have the job, and her students seemed to like her and listened when she taught. Well, as much as nine and ten-year-olds could listen.

Though it was hard, Lily and Harry were slowly adjusting to their new lives.

Good for you, Jthomajba! You guessed that she would go to the muggle world! Just to be clear, Lily has every intent to going back to the wizarding world once Harry starts going to Hogwarts, she just wants to stay in the muggle world for now for Harry's safety and security. And to keep him from getting a big head.
