Scott, Gordon & Alan + Bed Sharing
Scott had been in the middle of an intense dream. Something about a flight race. He was in first place, soaring through the air and far ahead of any of his competition. He knew he would win, could already feel the trophy in his hands. He just had to cross the finish line.
However, mere seconds before he reached the line, he was abruptly pulled from his deep sleep when he felt a finger poke his cheek.
He immediately woke up, but refused to open his eyes. Whatever it was that had woken him up could wait until morning. He did not take kindly to being woken up in the middle of the night, especially whilst he was in the middle of a great dream.
The finger poked his cheek again and Scott squeezed his eyes even more shut. Maybe they would go away.
"Scotty." This time, the poke was accompanied by a whisper close to Scott's face. Scott groaned, knowing that there was no hope in going back to sleep and he should just get this over with.
He peeled one eye open, but in the darkness he couldn't see anything. He reluctantly reached over to his bedside lamp, and fumbled with the switch for a moment before the dim light came on.
Standing next to his bed, where his two youngest brothers.
"What is it?" Scott grumbled when he realised who had disturbed him. This wasn't the first time a brother of his had come into his room in the middle of the night.
"We couldn't sleep," Alan said in a small, scared voice. At that moment, Scott noticed that he and Gordon were tightly holding hands.
"I told you not to watch that movie," Scott sighed as he sat up slightly on his pillows. He had a feeling this would happen when his brothers had decided to put on some post-apocalyptic zombie movie that was definitely not for their age range.
"Yeah, but also you didn't stop us," Gordon reminded him. "So if anything, it's your fault." Although his words were cheeky, Scott noticed the slight fear that was also on his face.
Scott found himself at a loss for words when he realised his second youngest brother did have a point. He could have easily switched the movie off, but at the time he was secretly happy that his brothers had found something to occupy themselves and wouldn't disturb Scott for a couple of hours.
He groaned and accepted the fact that he had gotten himself into this situation. Therefore, it was up to him to fix it.
"Alright, hop in," Scott said as he lifted the duvet. He knew what his brothers wanted.
His guess was correct when Alan and Gordon didn't hesitate to climb onto the bed and under the sheets. Alan settled into his side, and Gordon climbed over him to tuck himself into Scott's other side.
Scott leant over to switch the lamp off, and then settled back into his pillows. He made sure that both his brothers were tucked in and covered by the blankets, and he wrapped an arm around each of them.
"Comfortable?" He asked them, and he got sleepy affirmatives in response.
Scott smiled and closed his eyes, already drifting off back to sleep.
