Taking turns they turned the steering wheel and pressed on the break. Julian had managed to turn on the car. This was supposed to be quality bonding time between the father and the sons. But instead it ended up being his young sons taking control of the car on back streets so they wouldn't get caught by neighbors or police.
This was a low moment for the man. It only caused his worth and belief in himself as a father to be destroyed when he felt the car hit something and the sounds of his boys cries and multiple i'm sorry's.
But Julian could do nothing but lay there in the backseat with his pounding headache. And turned inside out stomach. He was drunk again. He wouldn't call his wife. And the last thing he needed was a camera crew showing up.
So he left. Somehow made his way out of the vehicle and hid in the woods calling 911. Ignoring his sons cries for help because he was so ashamed and really in his state there wasn't much to be done but wait in the shadows.
The flashback shook Julian awake. He had fallen asleep. On the ride to the resturant. The truth about that night haunted him. His recklessness and carelessness almost caused the deaths of his boys.
Brooke was driving. Trying to keep herself in a positive mindset. But that wasn't easy or simple. Never knowing what would set Julian off. What verison of himself would come alive at any second.
Brooke walked on eggshells from the moment she woke up to the time she asleep.
Playing the role of loving husband so perfectly in had the skill mastered. Brooke found herself clinging to the delusion more then who he was in reality.
Once the car was parked. She looked to him.
"Thank you for coming out tonight with me." Brooke said.
"Let's get this night over with and go home to our sons." Julian replied. Exiting the car first.
Victoria and Ted held Julian in higher regard then their own daughter. In their eyes Brooke could no better. Which was the total opposite of what Julian's father thought of him. His mother loved him but was blind to his because if she brought life to them she would be forced to admit she had failed as a mother.

Lucas was relieved to see the familiar faces of his best friend and brother. He walked over to their table and pulled them into big hugs.
Haley got up from her seat. Staring down her best friend with a playful grin on her face.
"Lucas Eugene Scott. You don't write or call. I thought you forgot where we lived." Haley teased.
Lucas smiled back at her. "I know. You aren't the only one wondering where i've been. Traveling and writing. While juggling marriage and parenthood leaves time for nothing else." He admitted.
"How is Peyton and Sawyer.?" Nathan asked.
Before Lucas could think up a believeable lie. He stopped in his tracks by the sight of Brooke Davis. Entering the resturant.
He was all she could see. Even though a man was walking in beside her. His arm wrapped around.
Brooke's eyes went wide. Seeing Haley and Nathan was one thing. She had prepared for that.
But Lucas. They went from being good friends to strangers given living across the country from each other and family life.
Her entire body reacted to him. And instead of shutting it down she embraced it.
...
"Tigger!" Haley proclaimed. Smiling. Engulfing Brooke in a big hug.
Brooke hugged her back.
She then reached for Nathan. Who hugged her tightly.
"Tree Hill is nothing without Brooke Davis." He stated.
Brooke and Lucas's gaze locked on each other.
When he reached out to hug her.
She clung to him tightly. Burying her face in his chest.
She could feel Julian's anger and rage overboiling without seeing his face.
Brooke leaned over and whispered in his ear. "We need to talk alone."
Lucas nodded his head in agreement as they pulled apart.
"Let's order everyone." Haley announced.
"Brooke and I need a minute. We'll be right back." Lucas said. Taking ahold of her hhand in his. As the two soon left the resturant.
"You okay there Julian.? You look like you're head is going to explode.?" Nathan asked.
Julian stared back at Nathan with a trademark grin.
"Fine. Let's order some drinks. I'm buying." He replied.
...
Once the two were outside Lucas focused his gaze on Brooke.
"What's going on with you.? You're impulsive and live in the moment. But this was weird." Lucas asked.
"Peyton has reached out to me. And made it clear that you cut off all contact with her. I just wanted to know what's going on.? Why are the two of you getting a divorce.?" Brooke asked.
Lucas felt his fists bawl up.
"I recently found out Peyton's been lying to me. Sawyer isn't my daughter she's Jake's. I left. There is no getting past such a huge betrayal. What about you.?"
"I sensed alot of tension. Between you and Julian. Anything going on there.?" Lucas questioned.
Brooke looked away and took a breath.
"I'm tired of feeling bad. So I've chosen to feel nothing. I'm numb." Brooke replied. As she rushed back inside the restaurant.
