ARC ONE: WHO ARE WE?
CHAPTER THREE: ELAINE VS. TAI! RELIABILITY VS. COURAGE!
Nar raised an eyebrow.
"Really, your teammate seems she's gotten the worst of it out of your clan? Interesting, but sad..."
Nar paused, and then tapped his fingers on the side of his armor.
"...I feel the same way with Sapphire. She has gotten even more stressed out then usual, and I'm worried she might stress herself to death."
Honey Comb's wings buzzed in annoyance. "He's a guy..."
Jess: I'll come to watch y'all if ya want... as long as my husband doesn't attempt to eat me
Jess sent a sweatdrop emoji.
Elaine: Kinkshame!
Tai: Ohhh, I definitely kinkshame, dude.
Tai: Not gonna lie, there.
Socks: Christian certainly has a way of doing things, don't he? xD
Suddenly, two figures came into the library, walking into it with a big smile.
"Nario of the Silver Castle." One of them said, folding away her draconic wings.
"We are Prince Haiku and Princess Mizuki."
Nar looked confused, and slightly pissed off.
"What, of the Magical Realms?"
Mizuki nodded.
"Yes, and we're here to take you to the newly revived Paragons, and you are to become one of their numbers."
Nar was confused, but nodded, and walked off, waving goodbye to Honey Comb.
Prince Haiku, Princess Mizuki and Nar walked out of the room single-file, as the room became silent.
"...We need tight security around here..." Honey Comb muttered.
Jess: Hey, I love my hubby and he loves me. xD
Elaine: Still kinkshame!
So, Nar was being lead towards the Ichavian-Zephyrian Mountains by Prince Haiku and Princess Mizuki, slowly and surely.
They cast a spell on him so that he wouldn't tire out, and Socks, Elaine and Duckie met Nar on the Zephyrian side of the mountains...
And then they lead him over to the Ichavian side of the mountains to meet with Tai and Matt.
Nar was not very calm both times.
Elaine was perfectly fine with meeting him, Duckie was scared of him (rightfully so, Nar being the guy that tried to shoot up Whit's End), and Socks was suspicious of him.
As he approached Tai and Matt in their part of the mountains where they were training...
"THINK FAST!" Tai shouted, causing Nar to yelp and dodge something coming towards him, as Haiku and Mizuki held up their hands, creating a golden shield in front of them, as the weapon, a dagger, bounced off the shield, and clattered, harmlessly, to the ground.
Nar shuddered, as he hid his eyes underneath his hat.
He was scared, now.
Mae was there, just watching, and approached them, as she saw what was going on.
Tai laughed, and walked forth, as Nar looked up, whimpering.
Tai walked forth a little further, and then leaned down, and offered his hand to Nar.
"Sorry, I was playing a little practical joke on you, dude. Name's Tai, by the way."
Nar took Tai's hand, and then got up, brushing the dirt off of himself.
"Nar." He responded. "I'm the newest member of the Paragons unit."
Nar then nodded towards Prince Haiku and Princess Mizuki, who nodded back at Nar.
Matt was leaning on his axe.
"Oh, a new member, eh?" He asked, wagging his Golden Retriever Grendel tail excitedly.
"Oh, well..."
Matt's eyes were shining with mischief.
"That's sure exciting."
Nar paused.
"You're not gonna do anything to me, are you?"
Matt looked at Tai.
And Tai looked at Matt.
The two shook their heads in unison.
"Naaaahhh." The two said together.
This only worried Nar more.
Jess sat down next to Mae, having come over to watch the upcoming battle by Socks' invitation.
Matt smiled, shook his head, and said...
"Hey, as long as you don't do anything fishy, we're all good."
Nar nodded, looking worried.
He did do something fishy in the past, and he wondered if they forgave him for that, even though that thing probably would've cursed him to Hell and back.
Nar put it aside in his mind.
Not right now.
The day came, earlier then expected, for Tai and Elaine's bet.
Socks was surprised how well they had been training for such a short amount of time, and decided to move the date of the bet up quite a bit earlier.
And now, was the battle of Tai vs. Elaine.
Elaine was spinning her axe, as Tai was doing stretches.
Elaine then stretched, as Tai eyed her build to size his friend up a bit.
Elaine paused...
And then rolled her eyes.
"Oh, agility versus pure strength." Elaine mumbled to herself.
"Got it." Tai nodded.
"Just be aware I might need to use the medical arts once I'm done with you, Tai." Elaine stated.
Her tail was wagging a lot.
"We'll see about that, Elaine!" Tai smirked cockily, causing Elaine to let out an exhale, like she was cringing at Tai's words.
A few minutes passed, and the Nekonian and the Goliath Grendel had gone at it.
Tai was doing flips, and slashes with his sword, while Elaine was deflecting them with Dawne, and striking back with that same greataxe.
Tai smirked cockily, as Elaine whapped him in the back of his... well, back, with the blunt side of her axe.
Tai felt a blast of cold ice at his back, as he mewled helplessly, like a kitten.
Elaine paused, looking at Tai in horror, and then used her healing magic on him, worried that he had been defeated too easily.
Tai paused, looking at his hands.
"...Y'know what. I could go another round." Tai responded.
Elaine rolled her eyes, grimacing.
"Tai, I almost killed you. You almost died. Again. Because of my actions."
Tai chuckled and said, shaking his head...
"Elaine... you should know I was born as an courageous idiot and will always be that idiot."
"What about that time you pushed Agumon to his limit and he dark digivolved into Skullgreymon?" Matt asked, smirking as he said it.
"Don't..." Tai's eye was twitching. "Wanna... remember that, babe!"
Elaine rolled her eyes (grimacing slightly that she almost killed Tai with her abilities still), and then the two trainees went at it again.
Elaine slashed at Tai with her axe, glowing with grey ice magery, as Tai flipped over her axe, briefly jumped on her head, and then whacked her with the blunt side of his sword.
Elaine whipped around, as Tai backflipped, but then got his orange Maine Coon tail caught around Elaine's axe by mistake.
Tai paused.
"Uh oh."
Elaine whacked Tai on the ground a few times, and then used the healing arts on him again.
"Were you slacking off during training, Tai?" Elaine asked, worriedly.
"...No." Tai responded sharply.
"Babe!" Matt crossed his arms.
"Alright, I kinda slacked off..."
Elaine facepalmed.
"No wonder... You gotta control that tail... and your balance."
Tai charged forth, suddenly, as his brain was screaming at him to stop.
But he didn't stop, as he pinned Elaine to the ground.
"Woah-!" Elaine twisted to avoid getting chopped by Dawne, and desummoned her to make sure she really didn't.
Tai let off a cheesy smirk, as he pulled his goggles over his eyes, and then tried to punch Elaine as she held up her hands in fear.
Fear.
Elaine hadn't felt that in a while, the Goliath Grendel noted.
Tai spat right next to Elaine, and smiled.
"Lainey."
He pulled his goggles up.
"Never let your guard down."
Elaine got up, and then rushed at Tai, resummoning Dawne with her magic, as Tai yelped, dodging out of the way.
"You're just dodging every attack I have!" Elaine complained.
"And you're not even doing very many attacks at me! This isn't a fair fight! You're too fast!"
Tai raised an eyebrow, snickering.
"No worries, then."
Elaine paused.
"No worries?"
The next moment, Elaine had been knocked to the ground again.
"What did I just tell you?" Tai asked.
"Never let your guard down!"
Elaine snarled, as she slashed at Tai like he was an annoying cockroach (which Elaine felt like he was in this situation, mind you).
Tai then set his hands alight with magical orange flame, as Elaine rushed forth, freezing her hands with magical grey ice...
The two rushed at each other, setting out punches and kicks...
This part of the brawl lasted for quite a while, before...
There was a loud explosion coming from their fists clashing...
And they skidded across the ground, as the two fell unconscious.
The mountain was quiet.
The breeze blew past.
And, in the tone of the "no head?" vine...
"What, no winner?" Matt responded, throwing down his axe in dismay.
It seems this battle had ended in a draw.
Weas awoke underneath a bunch of soft blankets, in a fancy room.
He noted his living quarters were never quite this fancy, so...
Did I just get kidnapped? He thought, rubbing his side.
Where there had been a wound...
It was gone...
Along with the bleeding parts where his shackles on his wrists and ankles had been.
"Oh, so you're awake!" A masculine voice chirped, as Weas looked over to where the voice came from.
It was an East Asian-looking man with blue eyes, and black hair with blonde streaks in it.
He was smiling, and Weas could see his sharp fangs...
Weas was quick to accuse him, of course.
"You- YOU KIDNAPPED ME AND IMPRISONED ME, DIDN'T YOU?!"
Haiku, the man, raised up a hand.
"Rescued you, actually. And healed you up with healing magic and put you here."
Weas grumbled.
"Sure you did."
He crossed his arms, pouting.
Haiku was worried.
Why doesn't he believe me? He thought...
A person came into the room, carrying a plate of steak, baked potato, and shells and cheese.
"Is he awake?" She asked, whispering, but she didn't realize how intimidating her plague doctor outfit was to Weas.
Haiku bowed, as Weas let out a panicked scream, and fell back.
"Yes, he's fully awake, my dear. Thank you."
Haiku then carefully grabbed the plate of food from the lady, as he walked over to Weas, sitting him up, and putting the food on his lap.
"Your food is served, Weaz'l."
Weas took a deep breath, pausing.
"Y'know... breakfast in bed is kinda nice... I'll like it here, I think."
Once he was done with the food, Kaz and Socks came into the room, with Nar flanking swiftly behind them.
Weas couldn't believe his eyes.
"Nar...? You've become a Paragon?!"
Before Nar could explain, Weas launched himself at Nar, beating his fists on Nar' chest.
"I can't believe this! After all you've done for me!"
Socks rolled his eyes.
"Well... Haiku and Mitzuki *could've* just left you to die, y'know... Now don't go through the five stages of grief, okay?"
Weas sat down, pouting.
Kaz nodded, as he held out a hand.
"And we want you to join the Paragons, too..."
Weas had to think about it.
"...Is this a trick to kill me?" He finally asked.
Socks stopped himself from shouting a "WTF?", but then paused.
Kaz shook his head.
"No. We are being serious."
Kaz took a knowing look at the woman who had given Weas his food, and then nodded, eyes closed.
The woman stood by as Mae stared at her, saying to her...
"Rae... what the hell are you wearing?"
"A Plague Doctor outfit." Rae said
"Why?"
"Just in case if anything happens to dad, I try to avoid any toxic fumes."
"Rae... we already died once, what makes you think dying twice will turn him into some sort of creature that can live with corrosive and toxins?"
"He wears a gas mask, right? And puffs out fumes."
"Yeah, but that don't mean anything..." Mae responded.
While this conversation was going on, Kaz and Weas had been arguing.
Kaz then held his hand out a little more forcefully at Weas.
"So... are you going to join us?"
Weas paused...
Looked at Kaz's hand...
And then nodded.
And shook it.
"It's a deal."
