Monsters of Heaven

Chapter 4: Aftermath

Total devastation.

Those were the proper words that can be used to describe the scenery around Hanta. Destroyed buildings and other public infrastructure. Rubbles everywhere. Heroes and public servant specially trained for a disaster occurrence like earthquakes and typhoons, working together going through the rubble, searching for any signs of life. Hanta fought down the urge to chuckle at the sight.

Call it cynicism but he doubted they would find any survivors. After all, even if there is a very slim, practically minuscule chances of surviving had any managed to hide away from the onslaught of the first monster. To add cherry on top, that stupid vigilante, Demigod decided to mess things up by throwing a devastating punch. No one could've survive. The sheer wind pressure that saurian man were comparable to the late All Might-sensei. It doesn't help that the man yelled out the late hero's name for all to hear.

Where that octo-lady monster once stood, a massive crater was the only proof of her existence. The few buildings that stood closest to suffered the worst damage, uprooted and flown away like it a tornado had come by to visit. Even then, those flying buildings had destroyed more buildings in their flight. After that monster was dealt with, Demigod immediately fled the scene but not before telling them that she is not the cause of all these. Only a symptom.

Always the same bloody result.A massive crater every single time. It's like he doesn't know the meaning of restraint. Sure, the triceratops Goliath did moved the civilian out of the way but does he really have to leave a massive crater each time he threw massive punch? Overkill is definitely a word he doesn't know about.

Well, guess that pompous bitch wasn't wrong after all. But who could be in charge of the series of attacks? All For One perished against All Might, everyone saw it during the police raid on the League of Villians. It was on television, social media and everyone all over the world, saw the fight. It would be ridiculous to state otherwise. The government had doen everything within their power for the past twenty years hunting down anyone associated with that monster.

While there are certain individuals capable of grafting different Quirk on people but those are either already behind bars or waiting to be executed. And this isn't their calling card. They wouldn't create a fifty foot tall kangaroo/octopus monster lady to wreak havoc for no reason.

'At least he was kind enough to warn us.' Hanta noted absently from the corner of his eyes, his sidekick, Flare, helping Uravity out by lifting the debris. The pyro-kinetic girl had apparently kept a phone on her, one meant for emergency, called him about the vigilante's message. It struck him odd why the man wanted them to flee the area but he'd relayed it to the other heroes anyway. Thankfully, the heroes that were on the scene weren't stubborn and accepted it. Albeit he needed to convince them.

And now, he and everyone else doesn't need to go through the rubble picking up blown, tiny pieces of heroes. Only civilians. Though the news about undead were rather disheartening. The last two incident didn't have any dead people coming back to life. Then again, those two events miraculously have no casualty.

Oh, already he could think of what the newspaper folks would say. Ineptitude heroes. Failing protectors of humanity. Gah, his head is already hurting just thinking about it. They're like vultures, preying on any small little information; be it fake or genuine.

"Hey, Cellophane!" The Tenth Pro Hero in Japan cringed slightly under the sheer volume of the man's volume. A small part of him wished he hasn't taken off his helmet, that thing was built to protect him from any kind of harm. That had also included sound blast.

He turned to the source, a former classmate and fellow pro-hero, Red Riot. During their school years, the man was lean but buffed. Now the man is more akin to a juggernaut. Tall and strong, with muscles rippling through the bright red spiky shoulder armor. The man had deemed it necessary to put on a black tank top along with matching cargo pants with a pair of boots. A blood red utility belt hang around the waist, the belt buckle's shape is a pair of R placed together, like the superheroes of the Silver Age. His overly ridiculous spiky red hair make him stood out. A scar marred the man's jaws, running down form the chin all the way to the jugular. In spite of that injury, he still can talk at a loud voice.

"Hey, Red Riot." Cellophane greeted in return."Aren't you supposed to keep watch over your intern? What's that kid name again, Behemoth?"

Red Riot shook his head, uncrossing both arms off his chest. "Nah, that kid will be fine. Baku got a handle on that kid."

"Whatever you say pal."He said. The two observed their surrounding until Cellophane spoke up.

"Say, what do you think of that Demigod fellow?"

"You mean the dinosaur fellow?" Red Riot asked.

"Yeah," he muttered dryly."This is the fourth U.M.A attack and he'd managed to do what we couldn't." He stopped briefly and chuckled. U.M.A. What's. ridiculous name. Couldn't the head of R/D coined a better term? The bloody hell that's stand for? Unindentified Mysterious Lifeform?

"True." R.R admitted. "I just hope I can have the chance of meeting him. What he did was manly. Though it was unmanly of him to run away."

Cellophane snorted in amusement."You do know he's technically a criminal."

"But he saved life!"

"And destroyed an insane amount of public property as well." Cellophane argued."Not to mention, we know next to nothing about the guy.For all we know, he could be connected to them. Perhaps he's the one who has been orchestrating the monster's appearances. Did you even remember that Pyro kid?"

Not entirely a lie considering there are some people who wanted to be heroes but could never made the cut. Instead, they resort to stage a villian of their own, paying people to act as a villian while they went in and tried to be a hero. There was even an idiot who went by the name of Pyro, started a fire and tried to save everyone in the very same building he'd lit up. Thankful the real heroes managed to come in and saved the day. Damn idiot was got his lower legs crushed by falling rubbles while inside the building.

The level of idiocy and madness in some people, trying to be a hero is simply disgusting.

"Bah, this is this and that is that." Red Riot waved off dismissively.Irritation in the tone of voice."Anyone who saves life is good in my books. Besides, those are simply small time. A giant rampaging monster is different than hiring someone to rob someone else."

"True, but my point still stand."

"And I'll stick to my belief."

Cellophane shook his head at what his friend said. Incredibly ridiculous. Good intention or not, that person must be apprehended. What he'd done has dealt a severe damage to the hero community's reputation as whole a damage. This entire ordeal would definitely made them look like chumps.

"Aaccho!" Izuku sneezed.

"Bless you," Terra, the angel who sat beside him, spoke up in a uninterested tone. An opened can of soft drink in hand, the top already popped open a while back. Although he had barely known her, it was rather flummoxing because he's more used to see her with alcoholics drinks.

He rubbed the nose with the sleeves of his shirt, staring at her all the while. The young woman doesn't seem to mind and merely focused on her drink. Guzzling it down in one big chug.

"Waa that an actual blessing?"

His question caused her to pause and stared at him.

"No. I don't have permission to grant blessings. I gotta ask the higher-ups to have clearance. We give blessings and perform miracles only if that person deserves it."

"Oh," he said, intrigued by the newfound pieces of information. Izuku kept quiet and watched their surroundings. Currently the two of them are in the waiting room of a hospital. The lobby were filled with injured people. Men, women, children and the elderly alike suffered some kind of injury. Bandages, arms and /or leg cast or even laying on their bed, unmoving. Their family relatives giving a semblance of comfort to them.

Prior to his mother, he had done everything within his power to keep the collateral damage to a minimum. In order to cleanse all of the darkness( Terra's words, not him), he needed to channel all of holy energy into the infected's body which required a medium to act as a connector. However it appears he had...applied too much energy this time around.

He- there's no excuses for this. He fucked up! He fucked up really bad. Oh God, so many of these people had lost their loved ones. So many Innocents suffered or died because he acted too slow. He shouldn't have gotten stupefied just because his mother had turned. He had always known but they were so many people to be chosen as target.

Shortly after his mother was dealt with, he had told the few heroes in the vicinity that he's not their enemy. Granted, he yelled at the top of his lungs and after that he'd leapt away without giving any of them a proper explanation. Thankfully they didn't threw her into jail or anything.

Two days after the commotion died down he was approached by two government agents to follow them. Apparently his mother is kept at a hospital which has also been placed under surveillance by the government's defense force.

A little overkill but can't say he blame them. They'd explained that due to the many known factors surrounding jeez they can't leave her alone and must be placed under heavy surveillance. Fearing there is a possibility she might be change back again.

"Urrp!"Terra burped with a chuckle. Izuku winces slightly bat her action and felt rather embarrassed. The young greenette was thankful the soldiers faces were obscured by their helmets because he doesn't want to know what are their personal opinion of her.

"For one who claims to be a servant of God, you are one gluttonous girl."

She didn't replied, opting to drank the contents of the can. It lasted for mere moments as the had already finished it. The can pushed away from her lips and crushed instantly in her grip. Unfurling her enclosed hand only to find the empty can already crushed into a tiny metal ball.

Terra smirked before tucking it away into her pocket.

"The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing." She spoke like some kind of sage. "That's the...uh, crap, I can't remember which verse. Shit."

Watching how she act left Izuku wondered how the so-called God with a capital G is actually like. If this is how one of His Servant acts, the big man beyond the pearly gates might be different than how the books often speak of him. For all he know, the big G-man could have the mannerism of a stoner. Maybe even a hippie.

Then again, the Bible had went through countless editing over the past few thousand of years and people were known to twist religion for their own benefits. Cult leader such as Shoko Asakahara and Ryuho Okawa is a prime example.

Hopefully he'll never get the chance of meeting Him.

"Huh, if you actually saw the Creator, your eyes will probably burn away." She spoke up. It took the green-haired man by surprise but he recalled her stating she can read minds.

"Why is that?"

"Trust me on that. Your mother has been through a lot and she's not gonna die anytime soon." She stated. The green-haired man glanced at her before snorting in derision. Sure, God is watching over them.

"Anyway," She stated, pushing herself up. "I gotta leave now. Gotta meet up with my sister.

"Why's that?" He asked. Did she just said sister? Oh god there's more of her?!

"God has plans for everyone. There's a reason why you're born Quirkless." Before Izuku could say something in return, she had already vanished into thin air. There are several individual with Quirks hat affects space but most of them would have an aftereffect. Like a big portal in the air. But for her, all's he does is simply vanished. No sound. No dramatic flair. Nothing. No one even noticed she was gone except for him of course.

"Izuku Midoriya." The aforementioned man perked up when he heard someone called for him. Head turned to see a young nurse, one with a lizard head, with a rather feminine human body dressed in the nurse outfit.

"Your mother wants to see you."

Terra hum to herself as she walked down the streets. No one seems to notice her as she walked past them. As it should for the majority of the humankind have lost much of their magical attunement ever since the emergence of the so-called Quirk. By a rough estimation conducted two years ago, there's exactly 0.23% of the human race possessed affinity for the supernatural. With each generation, that very number continue to dwindle. It doesn't help humans are known to be quite... shallow in spite of the Creators son's teaching. In a melancholic way, it is hilarious. The very thing that grants them a semblance of hope is slowly getting erased.

The blonde stopped in front of a cafe, a maid cafe if she remembers correctly. The store greeter didn't noticed her as she walked past her. Amamiya Sora, a young college girl who's studying for her degree in one of the nearby university. Terra noted the woman rubbing her shoulders, as if feeling a little colder. Huh, that woman must've chalked it up as the weather since her maid outfit doesn't really give any protection.Exposed stomach and skirt too short. Really, Japan for all their importance on manners, are a bunch of narrow-minded deviants. For crap sake, she's only been here for less than a month and half the advertisment she saw is just flat-out perverted. The other half is just plain weird.

Entertaining but weird.

She looked around the place. Incels.Incels. More disgusting incels. Fawning over and playing with those maids. God their horniness is off the chart. Her red eyes landed on one of the tables, occupied by a woman dressed like some sort of geisha. Her blue hair make her stood out especially given how it big it was.

"Sister Gabriel. No," Terra amended herself quickly with a sly smile."Sister Aquarus. I answered your summon, so get straight to the point."

Aquarus's closed eyes opened slightly to meet with Terra's blood red eyes. The colour of her sister's eyes seems to constantly shift, a literal rainbow. Her eyes glimmered and colour shifted with each second, never remaining the same. A moment passed and she motioned with a slight of her hand to one of the other three empty chairs. The blonde took the one in the opposite direction of her.

"Why are you here? I thought the original plan was to divide and conquer. Each one of us were tasked to one corner of the world. I take the east. You the south. The other two west and north respectively."

Aquarus's face scrunched up at her lack of manners. Good. This is payment for getting her coming to a maid cafe of all places.

"There has been a change of plan. For reasons unknown, the three of the seven Princes has been spotted in this country As such, I'm-."

"So, you're here as back-up then."She interrupted. The blue-haired woman gave a simple nod.

"Indeed." She answered plainly. Terra leaned back in her seat and hummed thoughtfully. Three of the seven Princes are here? If it's one Prince then, there's no problem whatsoever for her but if it's three then that's going to be difficult.

"Is this all? If not, I'd like to get back to my partner. His mother was the most recent victim and I'm afraid he might do something ridiculous out of grief."

"My," She tittered, head tilted to the side in curiosity."Caring for one of the humans?"

Terra gave her sister a withering glare.

"I know what needs to be done. We both know it has been getting harder to ding any pure human for the last couple of decade. All because of that bloody fallen's machination."

"True," Aquarus concede.

"Well then, thank you for the helpful information." Terra spoke up, getting out of her seat. Aquarus watched her left the building through the front entrance.
