Book 1. 80 years after the Fall of the Earth Empire, the world is a much different place as humanity becomes more advanced and interconnected. But under this long standing peace is a growing conflict brewing in the shadows between two opposing forces, the White Lotus and the Red Lotus. So yeah, here's a little announcement that I'm dishing out to you folks: This story's canceled.

Now before you all lynch me on the spot with firebending, here me out. I've been doing a lot of thinking for these past months, and I decided to write a reboot of the entire Avatar saga and beyond. That's right, I'm reimagining the Avatar universe in a manner similar to my Transformers and Sofia stories (be sure to check those out pretty please). This spawned from ideas for the Lotus War that I just couldn't get out of my head, and after much thought, I decided to cut this story short and start fresh from the beginning. You'll see Akira's story in the future, but with some differences.

I can't give too many details away, but this version of Avatar will be a bit different from canon. The Avatar will remain as the physical incarnation of the planet, as described in the original show. Raava and Vaatu still exist, but as separate entities from the Avatar, a hold over from a primordial age. Bending isn't a genetic trait but a learned martial art that can be taught and learned, though is hard to properly cultivate and master if one does not have the talent; One's native element is something that is inherited and cannot be changed. Anyone can learn bending, but not everyone has the skill and talent for it, thus creating a sort of divide between those with skill and those without skill.

Basically, I'm going to be going through the entire Avatar Cycle, starting with air and ending with fire. Yeah, its a massive project that I'm nervous as hell to get started on, but it's happening. I won't get started on it immediately, since I have real life stuff as well as other stories to work on, but I'm working on the concept stages and everything to keep track of how I want things to go. Sorry for fans of this story who wanted to see more, but rest assured that the idea is not dead, just taking another form. It's the best I can do to maintain my Avatar fix until something new pops up, like the Kyoshi books (loved those).
