'What do you think about going on a date tonight before our mission tomorrow? All we've done since we got together is lay by the pool and have sex, not that I'm complaining mind you.' Bucky asks you happily. You're both cuddled up on the sofa watching a movie. Nobody else is home, they're all out preparing for the mission in the morning and thought to let you two have some time to yourselves. It's been a few months since you both confessed your love for each other, and you still hadn't gone on a date.

'Yeah, that sounds nice baby, where did you have in mind? There's that new sushi place that opened up a couple blocks down? Or the Italian place?' You suggest a few ideas for a date and start to get excited. 'We don't have to go anywhere to eat of course, oooh lets go bowling!' You stop and cuddle into Bucky, shivering slightly as its almost December and it's cold. He wraps his arms around you to warm you and you squeak a little. 'James! That arm is cold!'

'Sorry doll, I'll go get some blankets for you.' He gets a glint in his eye as he has another thought. 'Or we could go snuggle in bed if you like? You know it's easier to keep warm without any clothes and huddled up to someone else? The fact we'll be under your blanket helps too.' He starts laughing devilishly while looking at you to see how you feel about that suggestion. 'I'm 100% kidding of course... Maybe... who knows?'

'Jeez baby do you wanna go to the bedroom or don't you? I'm not in the mood for anything non-PG but we can snuggle, I have the TV in my room, we can watch something there? Whatever gets me warm! No James, that does not mean we can 'exercise' in bed.' You add before he says anything. 'And lets decide where we're going on our date as well. I say dinner and a movie, maybe bowling if there's time after. What do you think?

'Whatever makes you happy doll. I'll make a reservation for somewhere; you pick a movie, and we'll meet back here! Just let me know what time the movie is so I can make the reservation for after. Hey Mia…?' he says as he picks you up to take you to the bedroom.

'Hmm? What's up baby?'

'I love you. More than you know. I'm so glad I have you.' He smiles down at you as you near the bedroom, lifting you up to kiss you softly on the forehead. You scrunch your nose up at Bucky and giggle as he places you gently on the bed and strokes your arm with his right hand. You spend the rest of the afternoon cuddled up in bed watching a movie and deciding you're going to dinner and then bowling.

You get up and start to get ready for your date, getting excited. You put on a midi length lavender wrap dress and black boots and curl your hair into loose waves before you do your makeup. It's almost 6 and the table is booked for 6:30. Bucky comes in the room and wolf whistles, which makes you blush and run over, jump into his arms and kiss him passionately. 'I love you baby.' You stop and think. 'Do you even like sushi? You've literally never eaten anything fishy with me. Are you gonna enjoy this?'

'You look beautiful doll. I love you too. And yeah, I have eaten sushi before. It was a long time ago, but I remember liking it. I just don't like the smell of fish, but the taste is good. Anyway, let's go, we'll be late.' You both leave the compound, making sure to leave a note saying where you've gone, then make the short walk to the restaurant. When you get there Bucky is the perfect gentleman, getting your chair for you, making sure you order first, letting you know you look beautiful. 'So, I wanted to talk to you actually tonight. Where do you see us going in the future? Call me old fashioned, I am over 100 years old after all, but when guys in my time were dating a girl, they were in it for the long haul. Marriage, kids, the works. Thank you.' He says to the waiter that brings your food. 'You don't have to answer now but I honestly would like all that with you. Not yet maybe but someday.' You look at him, shocked. Where was this coming from? 'Umm I dunno. I guess yeah, I would like to eventually settle down with you. Get married, have a few babies, maybe move into our own place somewhere...? I would be happy with your timeline; I love you James and just wanna be with you. I guess I'm just a little confused where this came from? I thought you were happy with where we're at right now. It doesn't matter.' You quickly say as you see Bucky's face fall. 'I guess my answer is yes I would like it all with you. Someday.'

Your conversation dulls to regular Avengers gossip after that as you eat your meal, Bucky making a face when he tries the salmon sashimi, 'I didn't realise it would be raw!' and laughing and smiling about different things, you almost forget your earlier conversation. After you are finished, you try to pay for your half but Bucky refuses, insisting the man pays for the dinner and suggesting you can pay for bowling. You agree and go bowling, which you win even after suggesting he use his vibranium arm to make things easier.

After you beat him 3 times, you decide to call it a night and head home. 'Thanks for a great night James, I really enjoyed my first date with my last boyfriend. I love you.' You stand up on your tiptoes to reach his cheek to kiss it, which makes both of you laugh. When you get home the others are in the living area.

'Hey guys, have a nice date night?' Scott asks you as soon as you walk in. 'Where did you go? What did you do? Was it just you two? What did you talk about?'

'Jeez Scott you're not Dad, no need for the 20 questions. Yes, we had a great time, we went to the new sushi place a couple blocks down, then we went bowling, yes it was just the two of us, and we're getting married. Goodnight!' You both run away laughing hard.

'WAIT WHAT? Amelia Kathryn Lang you get back here! You're getting married? Explain.' Scott is practically hyperventilating asking these questions, while everyone else is sat on the sofa laughing as hard as you are.

'Oh my God Scott you're so easy to mess with! No, we're not getting married, yet... That's all you get to know though; the rest is private. Now if you don't mind, I am tired from eating too much and laughing too hard so goodnight.' You turn and grab Buckys hand, pulling him to your room. As you get there you kiss his neck as you start to undress yourself. 'Goodnight my Sergeant Barnes. I love you.' You jump on the bed and cover yourself up and pretend to be asleep.

'Oh no you don't you little tease, come here and help a guy out.'
